Sword saint Mayumi
Here's probably the painting I've worked the most on. This is my Kensai (Sword Saint) for some Tabletop Roleplaying Games : Mizu no Yume Mayumi - Mayumi of the Water Dream.

i wonder if we'll ever have something about the swordsaint reacting to kim gonga's killcount going up apparently randomly.
like WE know it's going up because he killed himself (or people in the current arc) but. if he goes back after dying. it just looks to the swordsaint like kim "haha yeah it says 5000 but i only killed 1 guy i swear 😄" gonga's counter randomly increased
kim gongja: dies and comes back
swordsaint: *blinks*
swordsaint: why does it say you just killed 3000 people

your writing is SO SO SO beautiful i genuinely fall so deeply in love with every single piece you deliver on ao3…… the way you word the simplest things make them sound so intricate and well thought and BEAUTIFUL i can’t even. put into words how in love i am with your work… PLEASE id love to know what your inspiration is!! do you have any other ao3 writers you like that write similarly to you? any authors that inspire your writing style? how do you write so…. just so fluently and beautifully and thoughtfully???
oh!!!! oh my goodness thank you so much for this lovely message, you genuinely accelerated my heart rate for a second there :')
i have so many authors and pieces of writing i admire, and i'm always inspired by whoever i read recently that struck me. in order to write, i think, one needs to read a lot from many different writers- and curate your reading diet! read what you think is beautiful, really pay attention to the way the sentences sit against each other and what it is that is striking to you, and always keep your eyes open for any image that stands out to you in the world. your mind will store it all up, process it in the background, break down the symbols and recycle them into new structures.
but also, if you're curious about how i write personally, i write very, very slowly. i really love language, and that means i'm always obsessed with tuning the way each paragraph sounds. for me, the instantaneous snapshot that each sentence represents has to be beautiful enough to stop the mind. so writing is inevitably frustrating for me, and i can take an hour to write a single paragraph, and at that point i'm usually better off giving up. i don't think you should take this as a guideline. i think it makes my writing suffocating, sometimes. but just a caveat that i do not find writing easy..!
finally, recommendations!! i'll just list off a few writers i admire, although i can't claim my writing style is anywhere near the quality of theirs. italo calvino (william weaver's translation of invisible cities is pure insanity), hilary leichter (published her second book earlier this year!! she writes surrealistic contemporary fiction), catherynne m. valente for the sheer lusciousness of her writing, neil gaiman for the stories he tells. i also want to mention, in a way, jeremy tiang who is responsible for translating two of my favourite books ever—cocoon by zhang yueran, and strange beasts of china by yan ge. the underlying stories are breathtaking and of course, the base material must have been written gorgeously, but the writing of the english translation itself is a work of art.
i am also more than happy to mention some of my favourite ao3 writers :)) although, not all of them have written for fandoms that i have, and i can't necessarily say we write similarly. if you read any of them, any of them at all, it has to be tothemoon, who has been far and away my favourite ao3 author since i was like 14. it's not an exaggeration to say they're the biggest contribution to the reason i started posting on ao3—i wanted to give someone the same excitement and love that i've gotten to experience through the years from reading these amazing stories! also want to shout out woowoowoooo (this is beautiful), swordsainted (personal favourite here), perennials (personal rec: this fic), and sorrymom (particularly this)! some of these links require ao3 accounts to view but hopefully that's fine.

I'm pretty sure most people yapping about the 7.0 expansion for XIV have forgotten that yoshi-p has said in interview that he's more interested in entirely new jobs then remaking a classic one.
That was several months ago and could have changed, but I'm led to believe the new jobs will be something we aren't immediately expecting. If not, the potential options are:
Ink Mage / Pictomancer
Geomancer
Swordsaint
Rune Fencer / Mystic Knight
Corsair / Brigadier / Duelist
But as I said, I'd doubt any of these at the moment.
Otherwise it looks like a completely mediocre expansion for all of the usual additions, the graphics update means nothing to me when the main brunt of gameplay is still largely moving between places as quickly as possible and enter a cutscene where some NPCs stare at you like you just took their last pudding cup
Dye update makes it a good expansion tho but I've personally got zero interest in anything else they've shown, and have no doubts that the MSQ will waste your time with pointless nonsense to pad out the trials and dungeons being the standard rote repetition that we always get.
Let's see some changes to movement and combat that aren't entirely focused on the 10% of players who do hardcore content, maybe, that'd be nice

Not so spoilery but 7.1 thoughts regarding how it would impact Saeed!
Honestly, all the discussions on family, legacies and children... Really would hit him hard, considering he's a father to twins he adopted back in Rabanastre. No doubts both Polus and Leila have their own questions regarding their family, and Saeed would do anything to help them find them or know of their fates if they ever wished to search.
Not to mention he himself being an orphan, only having known the streets and his own found family. There's days he questions just where he came from, what exactly happened to his parents. Consdiering as well he is the VPR class, though reflavoured to be more of an Ivalician Swordsaint but working the same way regarding channeling ancestors, there has always been that pull to know his origins beyond that young streetrat trying to survive.

The question remains: has the bear truly reached heaven despite violence? Perhaps like Swordsaint apostate Maya he has found his own Maybe, even as his continuous cutting motion does not differentiate between himself and others?

Please enjoy a goofy little comic I made last year that became something I'm quite proud of! A combination of Wallace and Gromit and the hit webcomic Kill Six Billion Demons- Kill Six Billion Gromits!

Diaspora story rec: 爱屋及乌 | love the house and its crow by swordsainted
Locked to AO3 users
Teen+, no archive warnings, 9K
He doesn’t know why he’s doing this.
He doesn’t know why it almost makes him nervous.
But it is weird, isn’t it, to go to his not-boyfriend’s mother’s home? It feels weird, and yet here he is, crammed into Song Lan’s meticulously clean car and suffering.
We do family get-togethers once every month or so, Xiao Xingchen had said. The food is nice. There’s always too much. Do you want to come?
And because Xue Yang still hasn’t learned how to say no to Xiao Xingchen, he’d agreed.
This fic rec is part of our reclist, stories that spoke to us: MDZS fics & the Chinese diaspora experience. Reblogs are always appreciated.

I drew Isshin Ashina, The Sword Saint from FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (2019). I like how the shading turned out on this one. Win your battles, that is the way of the Ashina. Mayoeba Yabureru!
