Star Wars Ladies Appreciation Week Day 1: Favourite Character

My favourite Star Wars character of all, not just of the female ones, is Padme Naberrie a.k.a. Amidala. I admire her so much. She’s intelligent, and she doesn’t waste her talents. She’s compassionate, considerate, and forgiving. She’s strong-minded and strong-willed. She does not compromise her principles. She has an extraordinary capacity for self-sacrifice: It’s a rare individual who would sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of others. She is a leader who understands that to lead is to serve.

She was nearly twenty, with dark hair, darker eyes, and a hint of something deeper within. There was a freshness about her that the surrounding harsh landscape had failed to eliminate. Anyone glancing at her would have thought her soft: a serious error of judgment.

day 3: favorite iconic moment 

→ padmé revealing herself as queen amidala and begging the gungans for help. by doing this, she helps create the gungan alliance and put an end to the tense relationship that had previously existed between the gungans and the humans of naboo. in this brief scene she demonstrates several of what i find to be her most admirable attributes: courage, humility, grace, diplomatic skill, and a determination to pursue cooperation and harmony.
