i think that having swifer and cliper borden exist in the meat route is really funny. like, i always thought the reason swifer eggmop and cliper borden showed up in the candy route was because they were trolls that the fandom got really, really attached to, and candy is like. The Fandom Injoke Route. but then they also exist in meat. 

i actually have a lot of feelings about cliper and swifer but not in a way where they’re like, compelling characters in their own right, but that they are extensions of the brooding cavern as a concept in candy. and it kinda comes back to the hiveswap issue where blood castes are kind of one-issue wonks and jades are always directly tied to the brooding cavern. it’s a weird form of like........ it almost reads like bioessentialism. like. “all jadebloods work at the brooding caverns, all teal bloods are involved in the law, and all women are nags who weigh down their husbands” and i kind of h8 it because it feels like it should be something asserted on the story by a character, and it should be addressed, imo. 

the influencers look like the worlds worst we know the devil kin polycule. like they are all trying to be the worst girls but none of them have actually read wktd, but the thing that gets me about the influencers update is that their upd8 went up the same week that holly hollowtones was on pgenpod so i cant imagine the design differences between the nameless teacher and dr coomer are lost on a lot of people. which is a weird thing to say out loud. 

that being said when the upd8 they were originally in launched [they for sure got some designs made of them by some people i followed that were way better.] like, hs2 in general has this issue where characters are designed for visual impact before they are designed for seeming like an extension of their story (kanaya is the biggest example of this) but i think the influencers get it the worst. their verisimilitudinous factors are just fucked.
