Milena Eve - 19 Months

I haven’t done an update on Milena since she turned one last July. I’ve been meaning to do one but I just haven’t gotten round to it but now I have. So here we go!

Feeding

Milena more less eats the same as we do now. She is not a fussy eater, like her daddy, he will eat anything! She has a few foods that she really likes, she really likes sweet potato, it was her favourite as a puree when she was a baby too. She doesn’t drink too much milk, I get her to drink water and fruit juice; she absolutely loves apple juice, I always carry a little cartoon or two in my bag for her. She still breastfeeds but not very often, she only breastfeeds about a couple of times a week.

She has two snacks per day, usually a little cracker or some raw vegetables. We usually limit snack times to 10 minutes otherwise she gets a bit restless.

Sleeping

Milena sleeps about 10 to 12 hours a night, she is a good sleeper. We’ve just got her a new bed because she was trying to climb out of her crib all the time. She loves her new bed and loves climbing in and out of it. Bedtime is between 7pm and 8pm.

She’s dropped her morning nap so we’re down to just a 1-2 hour nap in the afternoon.

Growth and Development

Milena currently weighs 21lb 7oz and is roughly 30 inches tall. She is in size 12 - 18 month clothing at the moment.

Milena is walking properly now. She always on the go, she’s a very active toddler. She keeps trying to run but she keeps falling over.

She is starting to understand commands although like any other toddler she doesn’t like to listen so I comprise. Trying to get her to clean up her toys is a real ordeal sometimes. She will say now and stride about shaking her head. So I say if you did a little bit I’ll do a little bit too. She responds to that.

She has a sense of humour, she laughs at things and points at things. She’ll be in fits of laughter if we pull funny faces or if the younger ones do their poop faces. Or she’ll laugh when I’m trying to tell her off.

She can say a few words and is starting to string to or three words together. The other day she came up to me and said JJ smell then pointed at him. I talk to her all the time and we read together every night before bed.

She hates having her hair washed. She screams the house down and tries to climb out of the bath. We bought a shield to stop water getting in her eyes but it is still a nightmare sometimes.

We still use her stroller but she climbs out of it a lot. She’s a steady walker and loves walking and being grown up. When she gets tired she will climb back into her buggy.

She likes to play with shape sorters and other such toys. She enjoys reading and drawing.

Milena can:

So that was Milena’s 19 month update. She’s getting so big now! I’ll try to an update every month from now on.
