38. FIRST AID KIT

The Swedish folk/americana duo First Aid Kit is a pretty well-known band formed by sisters Johanna & Klara Söderberg. Having recently gone on hiatus (even prior to the worldwide virus) due to exhaustive international touring (particularly for Klara; Vocalist & Guitarist of the band; Johanna on Keys & Bass).

I totally have to say it still weirds me out hearing this band’s music in department stores and shopping malls. Granted it does make sense considering they went from an online sensation (doing covers and such) to internationally-acclaimed professional touring musicians. And more power to them. Their music is soulfully well-written and perfectly-executed. I recall the first time I saw this particular set - I was Totally impressed by how poetically heartfelt & honest their music sounds.

This band deserves all of their praise & accolades. I certainly hope that despite their hiatus they can come back (God-willing when circumstances allow) having been well-rested to share their beautiful sound & enormous hearts with each song they sing. Absolutely AWESOME!

🇮🇹 • Me ne stavo tranquillamente mangiando un mega hot dog nella piazza principale di Skansen quando all'improvviso sentii provenire dalla parte opposta della piazza una strana canzone, così mi avvicinai e proprio in quel momento la consapevolezza mi colpì violenta, come un pugno sul muso! Esiste dunque la musica tradizionale svedese! Ed è veramente figa! Io ho sentito solo un pezzo, si trattava di un folk un po' andante che doveva essere molto divertente da ballare in passato. Preso coscienza di ciò restai qualche minuto ad assaporare la dolce melodia swingando leggermente prima a destra e poi a sinistra... e poi me ne andai per la mia stada. . 🇬🇧 • I was eating a big hot dog in the main square of Skansen when suddenly I heard a strange song coming from the opposite side of the square, so I approached and at that moment the awareness hit me violently, like a fist on the nose! So there is traditional Swedish music! And it's really cool! I only heard one song, it was a somewhat wacky folk that must have been a lot of fun to dance in the past. The Tallest Man On Earth - The Gardener 

A heart string pulling folk ballad played perfectly in front of a Swedish sunset.

Kristian Mattson is setting the bar high for solo acoustic artists around the world with his auspicious, and extremely melodic hymns. This song reminds me of a satisfied evening spent drinking whiskey after yanking the teets of cows all day for milk on the farm.... wait, that never happened to me. There may be time yet.
