uglies should have been a mini-series. peris should have NEVER been made special. shay’s casting was genius. we needed to see tally’s trip to the smoke. we needed to see her learn how to rough it and get sick of spagbol and lose most of her supplies when she crashed into the river. we needed to see the tally and shay tension because of shay’s feelings for david. it’s pretty fucking important for character development and plot.

Uglies: SwedeBalls

Eating breakfast by the river, Tally took time to appreciate her SwedeBalls. If they got caught tonight, at least she would never have dehydrated food again. Sometimes Tally felt she could almost accept brain damage if it meant a life without reconstituted noodles.

I feel like that last sentence sums up a lot about human nature.

Like the other reconstituted food, I used a prepared meal from the grocery store. Don't love it but it gets the job done and leaves me with that semi unsatisfied feeling perfect for the prompt.

Uglies: Literary Food Masterpost

The rules for literary food prompts aren’t perfect, but in general:

1) Anything humans eat in the course of the book goes on the list, non-humans case by case.

2) Duplicate meals are not required to be made twice.

3) Reasonable substitutions are allowed insofar as I don’t actually have access to all the same foods as my favorite characters!

In Uglies, we ate:

SpagBol

Strawberries, bread, stew

Potato soup & olive bread

Tea with one sugar cube

EggSal

SwedeBalls

PadThai

Unfortunately many of these were bought, not made, to recreate the slight disappointment of high tech reconstituted food. My favorite of them is therefore pretty much no contest - strawberries, bread, and stew. I look forward to doing Pretties as well!

My attempt at a burnout effect. Obviously I need a car in there, for it to look nice. But so far I think I got it. No emission from the tyre. Ground Only.
