On September 26, 2022, 14-year-old, Isaac Silva Chagas, enntered the Municipal College Eurides SantAnna, in Barreiras, armed with a machete and a .38-caliber revolver. The perpetrator killed a wheelchair-bound student, Geane da Silva Brito, 19, who was unable to escape. The student took advantage of the difficulty in moving to fatally hit her. Chagas shot Brito with the revolver and then hit her with the machete. The attack ended when a police officer entered the school and shot the suspect, shooting him four times, leaving him in serious condition.

It was so well thought out that many of these perpetrators (including Isaac) took inspiration from the case of Guilherme Taucci Monteiro, for some reason their peculiar skull mask characterizes them but they have done nothing but be judged for "copy and paste".

Among many other shooters, most of them minors, whose inspiration was the Columbine case and the ideologies they "shared" with Dylan and Eric. A great brutal case, cause Brazil is almost full of teenagers with n3oN4zi ideologies, I'm not saying that this is a fact.

After the shooting, Taucci killed Luiz and then he committed suicide), how Isaac Chagas tried to replicate.

After the attack, Chagas was admitted to a hospital and would become quadriplegic due to the wounds caused by the bullets fired by the police.

a deep dive into the raul brasil school massacre.

as always, more information will be below the cut. this post is for educational, research, and awareness purposes only.

On March 13th, 2019, two students walked into their former school- Professor Raul Brasil State School, located in the municipality of Suzano, São Paulo State, Brazil.

The students, 17 year-old Guilherme Taucci Monteiro, born July 5th, 2001, and 25 year-old Luiz Henrique de Castro, born March 16th, 1993, had planned this for well over the better part of a year. It was 9:40 AM, and for the students at Raul Brasil, the day was just getting started. For Guilherme and Luiz, though, they were at the finish line.

Before arriving at the school, the two had shot and killed Guilherme’s uncle at the rental car shop, which he owned; that car shop was also where they stole the car they used to get to school that morning. Monteiro had previously worked for his uncle at this car shop, but had been fired for “petty crimes.”

When they arrived, they were armed with a gun (.38 caliber handgun), crossbows, and axes, as well as molotov cocktails and a handful of small knives. According to those who knew them, the pair had a “deep fascination with Columbine” and hoped to “emulate” it. Friends and former classmates were told about these plans, but claim they “didn’t believe it would actually happen” and those who did believe it kept their mouth shut, “afraid telling anybody would make them a target.”

Taucci and Luiz wanted to prove they could act like Eric and Dylan, the perpetrators behind the 1999 massacre at Columbine Highschool in Littleton, CO. They had goals of being even more well-known than the Columbine killers.

Allegedly, an unnamed 17 year old student was involved in planning the attack- although he was not present at school the day of. Police have asked a judge to issue a warrant for the teens arrest, (but it’s unclear whether or not anything has come of that request, five years later.)

Security camera footage captures Taucci and Luiz walking into the school. Taucci can be seen on CCTV shooting, and hitting several people in the head. Luiz can then be seen following him, attacking wounded, but still alive, students with an axe; “swinging it wildly” through the crowds of students who were attempting to flee the scene.

Luiz aims his crossbow, walking further into the school- and disappearing from the view of security cameras.

It would later be announced that seven people had been killed in the attack- 9 had died in total. 5 students, 1 teachers, and 1 school administrator (who police suspect to be the first to be killed.) 9 people were wounded in the attack, including 7 who were still hospitalized days later. One student was forced to run to the hospital nearby with an axe still lodged in his right shoulder.

After their killing spree, police were quickly closing in. Rather than facing authorities head on, Taucci turned the gun on his partner, Luiz- killing him. He then took his own life.

why did they do it?

Firstly, Taucci and Luiz were copycats; plain and simple. They wanted the fame and notoriety that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold have.

Rumors did circulate about Taucci being bullied and dropping out of school over it, but sources claim this was pretty much irrelevant to the attack. The bullying wasn’t severe by any means, allegedly it was primarily focused on Taucci’s acne. State officials say the boys never showed any problems during their time in school.

Taucci had been raised by his grandmother, as a result of his mothers “addiction problems.” Taucci is considered the “leader” of the two, as he’s the one who originally formulated the plan. Luiz was described as a quiet kid who kept to himself, which has led the public to believe this was a “leader-follower” type of scenario. If it is, it’s still unclear how Taucci managed to rope Luiz into this. The boys had been friends since childhood, playing video games and visiting the local arcade together.

was there any criticism after the attack?

As with any tragedy, the public wants to blame the perpetrators- however, if the perpetrators are gone, the public will tend to target the people who made the tragedy possible in one way or another.

Brasil’s former right-wing president, Mr. Bolsonaro, (a president surrounded by accusations of political manipulation, buyouts, and more) had recently passed a law making the acquisition of firearms significantly easier. Gun violence is extremely common in Brasil, though school shootings are relatively rare, with only a handful of documented cases existing in modern times.

Because of this law being passed, many Brazilians blamed him for the tragedy at Raul Brasil. However, many others brought up the possibility of making sure all staff were armed, in order to better protect their students. However, nothing ever really came from this debate, as the law stayed in place, and staff remained unarmed (that we know of.)

some curiosities that I found interesting about Guilherme Taucci

Born on July 5, 2001 in the city of Mogi das Cruzes - SP Guilherme was between 1.70 and 1.75 height Taucci wore 42 or 44.

According to Guilherme's grandfather Benedito, Guilherme's father was never present in his life of the son and Guilherme's mother wasn't as present either.

Guilherme would have known about the Columbine Massacre in 2015, when was in the 9th grade of elementary school. He researched about it, commented on it in videos of the subject, including discussing it with other people in the comments.

On Guilherme's YouTube channel there were videos of Columbine's edits, which he deprived before posting the only video that's currently on the channel that shows him shooting with a bow and arrow at an airsoft stand.

He was very fond of the English language and always commented in English in some videos on Youtube, he also praised girls who were fluent in English, which to him was admirable.

Guilherme and Luiz frequented each other's houses, but they really liked to sit under the tree in front of Luiz's house to talk, especially at night.

According to acquaintances, he always treated his neighbors with courtesy, always greeting them when they passed by on the street.

He hated drugs, a lot because of living with his chemically dependent mother. However, according to a friend, he smoked regular minty cigarettes and liked to drink wine.

He was part of a Free Fire group on Whatsapp in which Dora Forbes. He also shared. He was very funny there, Taucci greeted him with his expression "Hello, people" whenever he joined matches with his virtual friends.

He had a Facebook profile, in which he used his name "Guilherme Alan" in reference to DJ Alan Walker.

Among the public posts on his Facebook profile, one was about an adoption fair and request for donation of dog food from the Suzano Animal Protectors page.

He had a dog named "Princesa".

He liked the cold weather and wanted to live in Canada. According to his grandfather, in recent times Guilherme used to take/fetch the little sisters at school.

The Suzano massacre, also known as the Suzano school massacre, was a school shooting and a failed bombing, that took place on March 13, 2019, at the Professor Raul Brasil State School in the Brazilian municipality of Suzano, São Paulo State, The perpetrators, 17-year-old Guilherme Taucci Monteiro and 25-year-old Luiz Henrique de Castro, murdered five students and two school staff members, Before the attack in a car shop near the school, the pair also killed Monteiro's uncle. After killing most of their victims in the school, Monteiro killed his partner and then committed suicide. Eleven additional people were injured by gunshots, and gunfire was also exchanged with the police. Some were injured while trying to escape. The attack was the second major and second deadliest school shooting in Brazil, after the Realengo massacre in 2011. It is also the ninth fatal school shooting in Brazilian history. The shooting has inspired many copycat killings in and outside of Brazil.

Earlier in the day, at around 9 a.m. local time, the gunmen shot three times and killed Monteiro's uncle, the shopkeeper Jorge Antônio Moraes, in a nearby car shop. The man was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries, dying hours later. According to the investigation, Castro was planning on killing a neighbor of his that was an electrician because they had had a misunderstanding months before. They had a pact, in which each one would kill someone before the school massacre. An hour and half before the school attack, Castro went to his neighbor's house. Finding the gate closed, he persistently called him out, but the man did not answer, and so Luiz went away. In the same day, one of the killers posted a series of photos in a social media platform, where he appeared with a skull mask, holding the firearm he would later use and doing a gun sign with his hand against his head. The two attackers then drove to the school in a white Chevrolet Onix that Castro had legally rented at Localiza. The crime occurred at around 9:40 a.m. local time on a Wednesday, March 13, 2019, in the Professor Rual Brasil State School, in Suzano, Greater São Paulo. Guilherme Taucci Monteiro, 17 years old, and Luiz Henrique de Castro, 25 years old, entered the building hooded, with combat boots and balaclavas with skulls. Monteiro entered the building first. He then turned around and began shooting at two school staff members as well as several students at a distance of approximately 3 feet (0.91 m) in front of him, before entering the main patio in search of more potential victims. He disappeared from camera and then moved on to the institution's linguistics center. By this time, Castro appeared on camera entering the building in a hurry while holding several weapons, including a bow which he eventually left on the floor. He approached the corpses lying on the ground and struck them with a hatchet. Fleeing students started to run from the patio towards the school entrance hall. On the way, they encountered Castro, who was still in the entrance hall. Other students who had hidden themselves when they first heard gunshots were able to avoid being shot. Five students between 15 and 17 years old and two school staff members were killed. According to the 2017 School Census, the institution had 358 students between 6th and 9th grade (middle school and freshman year) and 693 students in secondary school. The school was locked down by police, who searched it and found a caliber 38 revolver, speedloaders, a crossbow, a traditional bow and arrow, possible Molotov cocktails, a hatchet and a wired bag. A bomb squad was dispatched to the scene and found that it was a fake explosive.

Brazil school attacks: 'I always look for places to hide'

"It still affects me. To this day, whenever I go out, I catch myself looking for places to hide and for escape routes, in case something happens."

Yanne Cezário is a survivor of a 2019 school shooting in the Brazilian city of Suzano.

The assault on the Raul Brasil school, in which two young men stormed the building, killing eight people and injuring 11 more, was one of the worst ever to have taken place in Brazil.

The trauma from that day has stayed with Yanne ever since.

She was 17 years old at the time, in her final year. Yanne remembers running from the killer and, as she turned around, seeing him shoot one of her friends dead. She had to hide under bodies in her struggle to survive and was stepped on by other pupils who were desperately trying to escape.

"When I finally got out, I had blood all over my clothes - mine and other people's."

The reality of what had happened only hit her the day after, she says, when she came home from the collective funeral organised by local authorities.

Much to the horror of families and Brazil's government, these attacks, which used to be one-off events, are becoming more common across the country. Over the last two decades there have been 22 attacks in schools carried out by former students, with 13 of these taking place in the last two years, according to data gathered by the Moral Education Study and Research Group (Gepem) at Campinas State University (Unicamp).
