The New Civil Liberties Alliance (NCLA) has taken significant legal action by amending its complaint in the ongoing Dressen, et al. v. Flaherty, et al. case. This action challenges the alleged collusion between various federal entities and social media platforms aimed at stifling the voices of individuals claiming injuries from Covid vaccines. The complaint underscores a pervasive campaign spearheaded by agencies including the White House, the CDC, and the Surgeon General’s Office. These bodies are accused of pressuring social media giants to dismiss and discredit as “misinformation” the personal accounts and communications within private online groups of those affected by vaccine side effects.

Central to the lawsuit are the stories of Brianne Dressen, Shaun Barcavage, Kristi Dobbs, Nikki Holland, Suzanna Newell, and Ernest Ramirez, all of whom reported severe adverse reactions to Covid vaccines—ramifications severe enough, in the tragic case of Mr. Ramirez, to include the vaccine-related death of his son five days post-vaccination. Despite experiencing firsthand the vaccines’ potential risks, these plaintiffs are not opposed to vaccination per se. For instance, Ms. Dressen herself participated in the AstraZeneca vaccine trials before reportedly suffering complications.

In 1824 kocht Johannes Hermanus Henkes samen met twee vennoten, Arie de Jong en Gerke d'Arnaud Gerkens, de reeds bestaande korenwijnbranderij aan de Voorhaven 27 te Delfshaven op en noemden deze: De Ooyevaar. Ook namen zij een aandeel in de moutmolen "De Distilleerketel", die zich op het Middelhoofd bevond. De ooievaar kan mogelijk in verband gebracht worden met de Haagse afkomst van Arie de Jong.

Op het ogenblik van koop was de branche herstellende van de crisis onder de Napoleontische tijd, toen bijna de helft van de Delfshavense destilleerderijen moest worden gesloten. In 1850 verving hij de rosmolen in de destilleerderij door een stoommachine en was daarmee de eerste in zijn branche die zulks deed. In de jaren 60 van de 19e eeuw werd het nog bestaande pand gebouwd, dat de hele wand Voorhaven 19-31 bestreek.

Het product van De Ooyevaar werd ook geëxporteerd en verwierf een medaille op de Wereldtentoonstelling van 1867 te Parijs.

De familie Henkes ondertussen spreidde haar activiteiten. Zo werd de Rotterdamsche Boek- en Kunstdrukkerij opgezet. Daarnaast werd een vennootschap aangegaan met de steenfabriek De Vlijt te Halsteren.

In 1887 werd, eveneens te Halsteren, de eerste conservenfabriek in Noord-Brabant opgezet, Het Klaverblad geheten, en in 1901 volgde de Henkes Jam-, Pulp-, Vruchten- en Groentefabriek te Breda.

Vrijwel onmiddellijk daarna kwamen er moeilijkheden. In 1902 volgde surseance van betaling en in 1904 werd Henkes in een naamloze vennootschap omgezet.

Van 1948 tot 1977 werden merken als Henkes Jonge Jenever, Henkes Vieux, Henkes Bessenjenever en vruchtendranken op de Nederlandse markt gebracht. In 1959 verkreeg Henkes het predicaat "Hofleverancier". In 1967 werd de productie verplaatst naar Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. Henkes was nu in handen gekomen van de Suiker Unie. In 1970 werd de Henkes Verenigde Distilleerderijen (HVD) opgericht, waarin de distilleerderijen van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Gist- en Spiritusfabriek en die van de Zuid-Nederlandsche Melasse-Spiritusfabriek werden ondergebracht. Iets later werd Rynbende overgenomen.

In 1986 begon Bols, toen reeds marktleider op dit terrein, zijn positie te verstevigen en kocht Henkes op. Henkes werd daarmee een merk van Bols.

Een winkel op nummer 13 aan de Aelbrechtskolk, 1908-1912.

De Aelbrechtskolk is vernoemd naar graaf Aelbrecht van Beieren (1330-1404), graaf van Henegouwen, Holland en Zeeland, aan wie Delfshaven zijn ontstaan te danken heeft. De stad Delft ontving van hem op 8 september 1389 een privilege tot het graven van een kanaal tussen Overschie en de rivier de Nieuwe Maas: de Delfshavense Schie. Voor de vereniging van Delfshaven met Rotterdam in 1886 heetten de Aelbrechtskade en Aelbrechtskolk resp. Oostschiekade en Kolk. De sluis en brug werden bij besluit B&W 23 maart 1886 resp. Aelbrechtsluis en Aelbrechtsbrug genoemd.

Delfshaven ontstond in 1389, toen de Delfshavense Schie werd gegraven om de stad Delft een verbinding met de Maas te geven. Sindsdien konden de schepen vanuit Delft via de Delftse en Delfshavense Schie de Nieuwe Maas bereiken. Rondom de sluis ontstond het havenstadje 'Delfshaven'. Het had de status van een 'kolonie van Delft'. Een terugslag in de groei vond plaats toen aan het eind van de Hoekse en Kabeljauwse twisten (rond 1490) de Hoeken enorme verwoestingen aanrichtten. In het begin van de zestiende eeuw telde Delfshaven iets meer dan 100 huizen en 400 inwoners.

Vandaag honderd jaar geleden: Suze Groeneweg (1875-1940) eerste vrouwelijke kamerlid.

Susanna (Suze) Groeneweg (Strijensas, 4 maart 1875 - Barendrecht, 19 oktober 1940) was een Nederlands politica. Ze was het eerste vrouwelijke Tweede Kamerlid in Nederland.

Suzanna Groeneweg was een vurig pleitbezorgster van volksonderwijs. Ze was zelf onderwijzeres in Rotterdam. Ze gold als feministe, maar was een tegenstandster van aparte vrouwenorganisaties.

Groeneweg was bestuurslid van de SDAP toen bij de grondwetsherziening van 1917 behalve het algemeen kiesrecht voor mannen ook het passief vrouwenkiesrecht werd ingevoerd. Toen in 1918 de eerste verkiezingen onder het nieuwe systeem werden gehouden, werd zij kandidaat gesteld en verkozen. Ze zetelde vanaf 3 juli 1918 in het parlement tot 1937.

Naast Kamerlid was ze ook Statenlid en lid van de gemeenteraad van Rotterdam. Vurig socialiste, volgens burgemeester P.J. Oud geen "katje om zonder handschoenen aan te pakken".

ROTTERDAM. DE HEFBRUG OVER DE KONINGSHAVEN.

Lezing Ir. P. Joosting. De hefbrug over de Koningshaven nadert haar langverwachte voltooiing. Reeds is de vloer van de brug gelegd, binnen enkele dagen zal met het monteeren der hef- en zakmachinerieën begonnen worden en voor de lente in het land is, zal de scheepvaart belangrijk minder vertraging ondervinden. Gisterenavond hield Ir. P. Joosting uit Utrecht, die deze hefbrug volgens Amerikaansch voorbeeld ontworpen heeft, voor leden van het Rotterdamsch Natuurkundig Genootschap een lezing met lichtbeelden over de constructie van dit gevaarte dat in de belangstelling van de meeste stadgenooten een plaats inneemt. Daar spr. zijn onderwerp reeds meerdere malen in onze stad besprak was de belangstelling zeer matig. Inmiddels was de lezing welke met duidelijke lichtbeelden en vele foto's geïllustreerd werd, ook thans zeer interessant, daar men weer het besef kreeg, met welk een uiterste nauwkeurigheid en hoe berekend de gansche bouw op papier is gezet en uitgevoerd. Nadat spr. had aangetoond van hoe een voortreffelijk belang de verhooging van het middengedeelte der spoorbrug tot de hoogte der vaste overspanningen is, daar hierdoor voor een veel kleiner aantal schepen de brug omhoog hoeft te gaan dan tot nog toe het geval is en diverse soorten van hefbruggen had besproken, legde hij de constructie van de Koningshavenbrug tot in détails uit en demonstreerde een model der brug, nagenoeg geheel als de oorspronkelijke, in miniatuur vervaardigd, dat door electrische kracht in werking werd gesteld.

De Oosterkade aan de voet van de Maasboulevard ligt in het oostelijk stadsdeel. De oude Oosterkade lag achter de huizen aan de zuidzijde van het Haringvliet ten oosten van de Oudehaven. Ze werd aangelegd tussen 1856 en 1858. Eigenlijk was de Oosterkade een gevolg van een niet uitgevoerd plan inzake de aanleg van de Rhijnspoorweg. Deze zou aanvankelijk lopen tot de Oudehaven. Op het aan te plempen terrein achter de huizen van het Haringvliet zou een station worden gebouwd. De stad stond daarbij in 1847 aan de Rhijnspoorwegmaatschappij de Oude Hoofdpoort met gebouwen, het Oudehoofdplein met de daaraan gelegen huizen alsmede een weggedeelte langs de slikken van het Bosland af. In 1856 veranderden de plannen en werd het Maasstation oostelijker gebouwd.

Door ruiling van grond bij de Oude Hoofdpoort en van terrein achter het Stadstimmerhuis kwam in 1860 een nieuwe regeling tot stand. De stad kreeg daarbij de beschikking over het gehele aangeplempte stuk grond en de kaderuimte aldaar. Het in mei 1940 zwaar beschadigde Maasstation werd in de jaren vijftig van de 20ste eeuw gesloopt. Op de plaats van het spoorwegcomplex en op het terrein van de Oosterkade werd de Maasboulevard aangelegd. Bij bovengenoemd besluit ontving de kade aan de voet van de Maasboulevard de naam Oosterkade.

De Rotte ter hoogte van de Zaagmolenbrug, 6 februari 1988. Links de Zaagmolenkade en rechts de Zaagmolendrift.

De Zaagmolenbrug is vernoemd naar de houtzaagmolens, die vroeger aan de Rotte stonden. In 1671 kwam de houtzaagmolen bij de buitenplaats 'Woelwijk', genaamd 'de twee Zwanen' al voor. Verder was hier in 1784 een houtkoperij met twee zaagmolens, 'de Ooievaar' en 'de Zwaan' geheten. De Zaagmolendrift heette van 1910 tot 1912 Zaagmolenstraat en van 1912 tot 1926 Nieuwe Zaagmolenstraat. De Zaagmolenstraat droeg voor 1897 de naam Van Bommelstraat naar Cornelis van Bommel, die hier o.a. in 1869 bezittingen had. De Zaagmolenbrug was oorspronkelijk een ijzeren ophaalbrug, die in 1895 was gebouwd en tot 1910 ter hoogte van het Noordplein en de Crooswijksesingel over de Rotte lag. Daarna werd ze verplaatst naar de Zaagmolendrift en de Crooswijksestraat. Ze ontving toen de naam Zaagmolenbrug. In 1956 werd ze vervangen door de huidige brug van die naam.

De Lange Torenstraat met op de achtergrond de Sint-Laurenskerk, 1913-1917.

De Lange Torenstraat liep van het Grotekerkplein naar de Sint-Jacobstraat. Bij besluit B. 30 juni 1942 werd de naam ingetrokken. Ze ontving haar naam na de demping van de Slikvaart in de jaren 1852 en 1853, op het tracé waarvan ze werd aangelegd. Deze vaart kwam onder verschillende namen voor. In 1350 treft men de namen Watering of Sloot aan. Het zuidelijke gedeelte werd ook wel Kerkwatering, Kerkvliet of Kerksloot genoemd naar de nabijgelegen Sint Laurenskerk. In het begin van de 17de eeuw komt een gedeelte voor onder de naam Snippevlucht, naar het huis 'van outs genaemd de Snippevlucht', dat in 1625 wordt vermeld op de westzijde van de Slikvaart bij de Sint-Jacobstraat.

Het water wordt op de kaart van Jan Potter (1567) Oude Rotte genoemd. Daar uit niets is gebleken dat die naam toen in gebruik was, valt het te betwijfelen of het water ook deze naam heeft gedragen. Naast Slik- of Slijkvaart komt in de 18de en 19de eeuw ook al Toornvaart of Toornvliet voor. Vanwege de geur die het water verspreidde, sprak men ook wel over Stinksloot. De Torenstraat ontving haar naam omdat ze op de toren van de Grote of Sint Laurenskerk uitkwam.

Ter onderscheiding van de al bestaande Torenstraat, die later is opgegaan in de Sint-Laurensstraat, werd ze wegens haar lengte Lange Torenstraat genoemd. Op de plaats van deze straat ligt nu de Oppert.

Het ambacht Cool komt al voor omstreeks 1280. In 1596 kocht de stad de ambachtsheerlijkheid Cool, Blommersdijk en Beukelsdijk van Jonkheer Jacob van Almonde. Bij Koninklijk Besluit van 20 september 1809 werd het ambacht Beukelsdijk, Oost- en West-Blommersdijk, genaamd Cool, tot een zelfstandige gemeente verheven. In 1811 werd Cool door Rotterdam geannexeerd. Naast het ambacht had men ook nog de polder Cool. Deze lag tussen de Rotterdamse en Delfshavense Schie. Deze werd in 1925 opgeheven.

Een gedeelte van het grondgebied van Cool was reeds in 1358 bij de stad getrokken na de vergunning van hertog Aelbrecht van Beieren om grachten om de stad te graven en het stadsgebied te vergroten met het Rodezand in het ambacht Cool. De Coolvest scheidde voortaan stad en ambacht. In 1480 is er al sprake van de singel tegenover de vest achter Bulgersteyn, later Coolsingel genoemd. De singel is in verband met de aanleg van een brede verkeersweg in de jaren 1913-1922 geheel gedempt. De naam Coolvest is daardoor verdwenen.

De Coolsestraat, vroeger Coolweg geheten, liep vóór de vereniging van Delfshaven met Rotterdam juist op de grens tussen beide gemeenten. Ze ligt, evenals de Coolsedwarsstraat, in het oude ambacht Cool of West-Blommersdijk. De Klein-Coolstraat ligt in de voormalige Klein-Coolpolder. De Coolhaven en -straat liggen eveneens in de vroegere Coolpolder.

De Peperstraat in de Zandstraatbuurt rond 1910.

De Peperstraat liep voor de bouw van het stadhuis en het postkantoor van de Coolsingel naar de Zandstraat. Evenals de Halvemaanstraat was ze aangelegd op het terrein van het Sint Agathaklooster. Beide straten komen in het begin van de 17de eeuw door elkaar voor. Een verklaring voor de naam is niet te geven. Waarschijnlijk heeft hier een pepermolen gestaan. In de Peperstraat had men vroeger een Peperslopje. De straat kwam ook wel onder de naam Halvemaanwatersteeg voor

Het ambacht Cool komt al voor omstreeks 1280. In 1596 kocht de stad de ambachtsheerlijkheid Cool, Blommersdijk en Beukelsdijk van Jonkheer Jacob van Almonde. Bij Koninklijk Besluit van 20 september 1809 werd het ambacht Beukelsdijk, Oost- en West-Blommersdijk, genaamd Cool, tot een zelfstandige gemeente verheven. In 1811 werd Cool door Rotterdam geannexeerd.

Een gedeelte van het grondgebied van Cool was reeds in 1358 bij de stad getrokken na de vergunning van hertog Aelbrecht van Beieren om grachten om de stad te graven en het stadsgebied te vergroten met het Rodezand in het ambacht Cool. De Coolvest scheidde voortaan stad en ambacht. In 1480 is er al sprake van de singel tegenover de vest achter Bulgersteyn, later Coolsingel genoemd. De singel is in verband met de aanleg van een brede verkeersweg in de jaren 1913-1922 geheel gedempt. De naam Coolvest is daardoor verdwenen.

Nina Sosanya (W1A, Last Tango in Halifax) has today been announced as playing the role of Agnetha in Bryony Lavery’s Award-Winning play, Frozen. Nina joins the previously announced Suranne Jones (Doctor Foster, Scott & Bailey) who plays the role of Nancy and Jason Watkins (Line of Duty, Taboo, W1A) who plays the role of Ralph. This psychological thriller about a mother whose child goes missing is directed by Jonathan Munby and will play a strictly limited twelve-week season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from Friday 9 February 2018.

One sunny evening a young girl walks to visit her Grandma, she never arrives. A play about retribution, remorse and redemption, Frozen explores the interwoven lives of three strangers as they try to make sense of the unimaginable.

Suranne Jones is currently reprising her BAFTA Award-winning title role in the second series of BBC One’s hugely successful drama Doctor Foster. She recently completed filming for Save Me opposite Lennie James and Stephen Graham for Sky Atlantic. Other recent television work includes five series of the popular ITV drama Scott & Bailey, playing ‘Rachel Bailey’ opposite Lesley Sharp, as well as The Brian Pern Show and The Crimson Field for the BBC. Other television credits include Lawless, Touch of Cloth, Doctor Who, Unforgiven and Coronation Street. Suranne’s theatre credits include Top Girls at Chichester Festival Theatre and in the West End, A Few Good Men at Theatre Royal Haymarket with Rob Lowe, for which she received the Theatregoers’ Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress, Blithe Spirit and Terms of Endearment. Suranne played the role of ‘Sandra’ in the 20th anniversary West End revival of Beautiful Thing at the Arts Theatre, as well as the title role in Orlando at the Royal Exchange in 2014.

Jason Watkins is best known for his performance in the title role in acclaimed drama The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies, for which he won Best Actor at the 2015 BAFTA Television Awards. He is also known for playing ‘Gavin Strong’ in Sky 1 comedy series Trollied, as well as ‘Simon Harwood’ in the popular BBC comedy W1A. Airing this September, Jason will be playing ‘Roger’ in the BBC One sitcom Hold The Sunset. He has appeared in over 70 plays and was nominated for an Olivier Award in 2001 for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in A Servant To Two Masters for the RSC/Young Vic production in the West End. Recent theatre includes The Late Henry Moss by the late Sam Shepard at the Almeida Theatre and A Farewell to the Theatre at the Hampstead Theatre. Film credits include Hampstead opposite Diane Keaton, Gordon Shakespeare in the Nativity! film series and future releases, The Children Act with Emma Thompson and The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, directed by Terry Gilliam.

Bryony Lavery’s plays include A Wedding Story, Last Easter, Her Aching Heart (Pink Paper Play of The Year 1992) Smoke, Dirt, and More Light. Her play Frozen, commissioned by Birmingham Repertory Theatre, won the TMA Best Play Award, the Eileen Anderson Central Television Award and was then produced on Broadway where it was nominated for four Tony Awards. Stockholm, for Frantic Assembly, won the Wolff-Whiting award for Best play of 2008. Beautiful Burnout for The National Theatre of Scotland and Frantic Assembly received a Fringe First at Edinburgh, before performances in the UK, New York, Australia and New Zealand. Stage adaptations include 101 Dalmatians (a musical), Chichester 2014, A Christmas Carol (for Birmingham Rep/Chichester Festival Theatre), Precious Bane, The Wicked Lady, Treasure Island (National Theatre 2014-5) and Behind The Scenes At The Museum for York Theatre Royal. Further Endless Heirs AU ideas (part 1)

Gonna tag @somebodyssherlock-heterodyne and @themirokai cuz you guys have been so fun to share this particular AU with :)

I toyed with turning this into a fic but I don't think i have the energy right now for two fics at once, and I wanted to share these ideas anyway so they didnt just sit rattling around gathering dust.

So I talked before about Daniel getting captured, and the adverse effects that would have on him and Wish due to their shared hearts

And here's the rough wider story I've built around it since then. Daniel, some time in his early thirties, (a little while after he and Wish have made contact with Destruction), wakes up one day in a strange twisting labyrinth, no idea how he got there, no idea how to get out, and worst off, apparently no connection with the Dreaming. Whenever he goes to sleep he doesn't dream, just wakes back up in the labyrinth in a new area.

He's stuck there for an unknown amount of time. He's immortal enough that he won't die of starvation but it's not pleasent, and he's entirely alone. He tries to keep up his strength and spirits, knowing his family must be looking for him, but each dsy that passes without rescue wears at him a little bit more, slowly breaking down his spirits--and worse, apparently his physical form as well. Wherever he is its doing something to him, making him go odd and fuzzy at the edges.

But finally, things change one day when he finally stumbles into what appears to be the heart of the Labyrinth, and meets a very scared and confused young teen named Suzanna Holland.

Suz has no idea how she got here either, the last thing she remembers is getting sick and being taken to a hospital, and then she woke up here, wherever here is.

After determining Suz, as she's called, isn't dangerous, the two bond as they try to find their way out of the Labyrinth, learning about eachother as there's nothing to do but talk.

Suz learns about Daniel and the Dreaming, and is hopeful that someone will come for him and so save her too. She doesn't have any family left that she knows of. Her mother had been part of a magical practitioners community that had gotten into some dark stuff, and Suz had left home to get away from it, and her mother hadn't bothered to try and come after her. She doesn't know who her father was and her mother hadn't gotten along with her own parents, so Suz doesn't know them either. But Daniel's family seems to care about him, surely they'll find him soon...

But the days go by, and no one comes, and Daniel starts to get worse and worse. Finally, he determines that their only chance is to try and see if maybe he can push through whatever is blocking his connection to the Dreaming, by joining his power with the little magic Suz might have, and see if he can get her to sleep and enter the Dreaming if he can't, and contact someone. So they try--and Suz disappears completely. Leaving Daniel all alone once more.

Suz however, appears in the Dreaming, and the first perosn she meets is Matthew, who once he hears that Daniel hs sent her quickly takes her to Dream--who can tell instantly that Suz isn't in the Dreaming bodily, it's only her sleeping form that is here. Which means that her body is still somewhere out there, asleep.

Which freaks Suz out, as she was sure she was physically there with Daniel in the Labyrinth, it felt so real...

And the Dreaming family, which has been searching for Daniel in the Waking for weeks, wondering why they're unable to find his mind in the Dreaming, starts to realize just what his captors have done.

They've used Daniel'a own powers against him, pulled on his own abilities and trapped his mind within a miniature Dreaming of his own unconscious making. And the longer he's there the more real it becomes, and the more he loses hope of being found, the more that his never being found becomes a Reality as well, blocking him from being found by his family by magical means, creating a self fulfilling prophecy.

And the more Daniel loses hope, the more he starts to lose himself....

And this breaking of his heart and self is echoing back into Wish, who's already desperate to try and find Their cousin and best friend, who's been missing for months now. They're becoming colder, sharper, more reminsicent of how Desire was before Them, willing to do whatever They need to to get what They want, to find Daniel...

Including making a deal with a certain young demoness They've never cared for. A wish of her choosing, to be fulfilled whenever she might ask, in return for reigning down vengance on Daniel's captors. For if Wish can't find them, They can make sure that they have a Hell of a time waiting for them in the end.

Eventually, the Dreaming family is able to help Suz remember more about what had happened to her before she fell ill. People who had found her, who had said they were taking her to hospital, strange things she had thought were dreams when she'd 'slept' in the Labyrinth which she now realizes were actually small flashes of wakefulness.

And with these, they're able to finally pin point where the people who've taken Daniel might be, who've been using Suz's latent magical abilities to cover up Daniel's magical signature as well as boost their spell with her own life force.

The full force of Daniel's family comes raining down on the captors, though their mastermind and one of his main henchman manage to escape beforehand. They find Suz's body, deep in a coma, hooked up to a multitide of medical equity that's apparently keeping her alive. The captors who are left have used magic to keep themselves from answering any of the questions put to them...and so they get to truly know the terrors that Nightmare's can hold...

Daniel, despite his rescue from the dream catcher Labyrinth, isn't doing well, in mind or body. Though Dream wants to keep him to heal in the Dreaming and Lyta understandable wants him in the Waking with her, both end up agreeing that with the nature of his Heart the best thing may actually be to let him spend his convalescence with Wish, who's more then happy to care for Their cousin, and furious with Themself for not finding him before he got to this state. Promising that They'll never let anyone hurt him like this ever again, no matter what...

Their renewed proximity does seem to help Daniel somewhat, as well as calming Wish's intensity down (though simply having Daniel back is a main factor in that, shared hearts aside), but there's still much healing needed.

Suz is still in a coma, though her dreaming mind is happy to find a welcoming new family in the Dreaming, Matthew especially seems to have taken a shine to her, watching over her like she's a new born chick. But her mortal body, watched over in the Waking by the grateful Walkers and Lyta, isn't doing so well...

And the mastermind who orchestrated Daniel's capture, for reasons yet unexplained, is still out there...
