What if Cody was Sabertooth's bio kid? for the TFRB x X Men crossover. Cody is a literal sweetheart compared to Viktor, it was unbelievable for Wolverine and everyone else to believe that Cody was Sabetooth's offspring! But when the kid activated his X-gen it was hard to not see the resambles...

Still, there are differences! Cody's features resemble more of a Smilodon fatalis, a sub-family of the Sabertooth's felines. A species known to be less strong on bite, but much faster and agile. His eyes are also different as Viktor's eyes are completely white but Cody's are fully red. Something that combined with his new fangs and big claws gives the boy a menacing look... that being the only thing the boy hates from his mutation.

Logan just hopes that Sabertooth (and other monsters similar to the guy) never finds out about Cody and his family... However, there's a question still on the air, who is Cody's mom, the woman who survived Viktor's rage?

Most of Wolverine´s kids don't trust Cody because of what happened with Graydon Creed and the Sabertooth war. Cody still proves to be just a little kid with a heart of gold!

Boulder is the first one to pet Cody without questions. Heatwave will always say that even with big fangs, Cody will always need protection. Blades searches about the Sabertooth feline species and about the X-gen for when Cody needs medical care. Chase makes his own investigation about the Creed family to finally put a stop to Viktor (but that's easier say than done)

One thing I really wish about crow rook, would them just refusing to admit that their training was basically torture.

In casual conversation dropping about how viago broke their hand once during training, and how much of a bitch it was to heal, but immediately defending it because they've never forgotten to keep their hands protected in a fight.

Or maybe they do know it was torture. Maybe they know it was abuse and not something that should have been done to a child, but if they think about that they would have to reconstruct the idea of Viago in their mind. Viago the man who saved them, the man who trained them, the man who also tortured them. I think an internal struggle of 'but that torture kept me alive. I'm only breathing because of my lessons paid in my own blood' would have done so much for the crows

And maybe they see it reflected in Lucanis's stories. And hearing about Caterina and Lucanis, they can't reason it away with sentimentally. Maybe they try to. Lucanis survived a year of torture. Was that because of Caterina? Or because of Lucanis's own spirit?

Idk, I think crow rook could have been an interesting story about the crows. Because in other back stories, it makes sense that the crows would try to boast about freedom and how they defend their city. Make themselves look good to their new allies. But crow rook would have known about the blood underneath, and the bruises and the welts and the cuts. And maybe they can't forgive Viago - maybe they can. Maybe they have to, because if they don't then they lose their only family. Maybe they know Viago only wanted them to survive. Maybe they don't know if that makes it better or worse.

Sorry forever mourning that the crows aren't actually morally gray it could have been such a neat story about their internal abuse and how the system itself works. The only previous crow companion we had talks about how bad his torture was; a blood bath, a survival of the fittest. When asked about their training, crow rook can reply 'it was torture'. I wish there was some idk depth to it? It's implied that house de Riva does training differently from house arianai, which makes sense as clearly that did NOT work out for house arianai. However rook was personally trained by Viago (from what I understand. Talking to Heir at the casino reveals that rook never trained with her, and also received the best training they could. Probably training from the talon himself). That couldn't have been easy training.

Yet even through all that, it's clear Viago does care about them! Any other crow would be dead if they went rogue on a job like rook did, yet Viago only sends them away.

I don't remember where I was going with this but. I think Rook de Riva should be allowed some complicated emotions about their training and viago. As a treat

@p-clodius-pulcher showed me this crazy quote, wherein "his family may have opted to allow only two sons to marry" made me go "so you are saying in a later era, Crassus would be a priest".

OHHHH THIS IS DELICIOUS. every discussion revolving around Crassus' marriage to his sister-in-law is so so fun. we have archaic traditions & obligations, there's the matter of keeping the dowry in the family (which in turn lends to a fun exploration of the economy at the time, wrt to crassus' father's policy making), & combined together, there's something to be said for the reasoning that the brother-sister marriage records of roman egypt may have had more to do with keeping property in the family.

but now with fraternal pietas? HELLO!! new things to think about. I'm going to unpack this with a magnifying glass.

It had been a number of years since you'd seen the Doctor. The last you'd counted, it had been four. The years were easy to keep track of, at least, but you didn't bother with the months or weeks or days. It was all just... time, when it came to the Doctor.

It had been four years since you'd seen the Doctor. But that didn't mean it had been just as long since you'd heard from them.

It was custom for the two of you to leave each other letters when you were living your civilian life. The handwriting of the Doctor changed on occasion, but you could always tell it was theirs -- least of all because they were the only one who sent you handwritten notes.

It was as if by instinct the two of you knew when to check your mailbox, yet as if by irony you never managed to run into each other.

Well, at least until you did, anyway.

Four years and you hadn't seen the Doctor. The last time you'd seen him, he was a tall and gangly Scotsman. The person you encountered now... certainly was not that.

You weren't sure why you decided to check the mail when you did, but when you got there a blonde who certainly wasn't your usual mailperson was slipping a letter into your mailbox -- a letter with only your name written on it, in lovely flowing script.

The writing had changed again, but as ever remained unmistakably the Doctor's.

"Doctor?" you asked after her, curiously.

She stopped, as if daring to continue forward would physically pain her, then turned to face you. The grin on her face was wide, but strangely forced.

"Erm, no, sorry. The Doctor is... away. Just gave me an address and asked me to drop this in the mail slot."

"I can see the TARDIS on the street corner."

"Oh... really? You shouldn't do..."

"I can also just... tell. When it's you," you said apologetically. "You just have a certain... way about you."

"Ah. I thought I fixed that."

"You're not Scottish anymore."

"Or a man."

Well, you'd be lying if you said you hadn't noticed that. In fact, it was the first thing you'd noticed -- it was a pretty stark change considering that her every regeneration until then (that you knew of, at least) had been a man.

"I don't mind," you assured her, starting a slow approach towards her. She didn't move, but she also didn't seem entirely comfortable, so you stopped a few paces away. "In fact, I think you look great. Womanhood suits you. Especially that face."

"Oh... you --" She wagged a finger, but her smile had turned more genuine. "Don't go gettin' all flirty on me."

"Doctor, you're here to drop off a love letter. I think it may be too late to tell me not to get flirty."

She seemed to consider that, playfully bobbing her head left and right in thought. "Yeah, all right," she finally said, grinning. "You do have me there, I'm afraid."
