I've been obsessed with villainess manga lately, so I wanted to review the ones I've read so far. It's a fun new-ish genre so it's interesting to compare the ones that are out so far. See under the cut for the reviews.
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! (ongoing)
Read 9 Volumes  ||  Rating: 5/5
Review: The OG. Extremely cute and charming, all the characters are really loveable. I really like that the protagonist isn’t the typical shy, blushing flower that a lot of historical/fantasy romance manga use. She’s a weird, brash tomboy and her friends love her anyway.
Accomplishments of the Duke's Daughter (ongoing)
Read 8 Volumes  ||  Rating: 5/5
Review: If you’re weirdly nerdy about taxation systems and politics, this is the manga for you. Competence porn at its finest. The love interest is boring but he’s not heavily featured so far, and the protagonist makes up for it by being really good at her job.
The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior (discontinued)
Read 3 Volumes  ||  Rating: 5/5
Review: I’m so sad this one got discontinued. I think it might be getting another manga adaptation, but if it doesn’t, I still highly recommend reading this one. Really lovely found family. The protagonist is really insecure, but she loves her friends and family and just wants to take care of them <3<3<3
The Villainess Stans the Heroes: Playing the Antagonist to Support Her Faves! (ongoing)
Read 3 Volumes  ||  Rating: 4.5/5
Review: This one is surprisingly fun. The protagonist is a huge fan of the heroes, and it’s fun seeing her reactions to the new characters as the hero party grows. Also, the love interest is pure 14-year-old wish fulfillment is the best way.
7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy! (ongoing)
Read 4 Volumes  ||  Rating: 4.5/5
Review: Protagonist has lived multiple lives and uses her experience to problem solve. The love interest has become evil in her previous lives, but she doesn’t know why. I’m really interested to see where it goes. The love interest is a little weird, not sure how I feel about him yet.
I Swear I Won't Bother You Again! (ongoing)
Read 4 Volumes  ||  Rating: 4.5/5
Review: Protagonist tried to murder her half-sister and was put in jail, and was sent back in time to before she started bullying her sister. There’s two love interests, the prince and the childhood best friend. The prince is boring, but the best friend is cute and charming, and the protagonist is dealing with her guilt over her past actions.
I'm in Love with the Villainess (ongoing)
Read 5 Volumes  ||  Rating: 4/5
Review: Fun lesbian version of the typical villainess narrative. I like seeing the villainess warm up to the protagonist. The protag does rub me the wrong way a little bit, but overall quite enjoyable.
Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss But I'm Not the Demon Lord (ongoing)
Read 2 Volumes  ||  Rating: 4/5
Review: The villainess is really nerdy about levelling up and training in a really funny way. This one isn’t very long yet, but it’s charming so far.
Though I Am an Inept Villainess: Tale of the Butterfly-Rat Body Swap in the Maiden Court (ongoing)
Read 4 Volumes  ||  Rating: 4/5
Review: Villainess body-swap. The protagonist is a little bit boringly perfect, but the outfits and the court drama are really fun.
Tearmoon Empire (ongoing)
Read 3 Volumes  ||  Rating: 4/5
Review: Villainess gets reincarnated as her younger self after she gets guillotined. She’s charmingly self-serving, although everyone around her thinks she’s a genius and totally selfless.
I'm Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness: I'll Spoil Her with Delicacies and Style to Make Her the Happiest Woman in the World! (ongoing)
Read 3 Volumes  ||  Rating: 4/5
Review: Some good hurt/comfort in this one. The villainess is rescued by a wizard. The wizard protagonist is a little obnoxious, but it’s nice to see the villainess get some comfort and love.
The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor (ongoing)
Read 4 Volumes  ||  Rating: 4/5
Review: The protagonist has gone back in time into her child body, but she’s a total badass. I find the character really charming and the plot compelling. The only weirdness is the age difference between the grown adult love interest and the (ostensibly) child protagonist, but the romance is still really cute to me. I feel weird about this one but I do like it so idk
The Holy Grail of Eris (ongoing)
Read 6 Volumes  ||  Rating: 4/5
Review: The protagonist is haunted by the spirit of a dead villainess. The protagonist’s personality is very passive, and it’s fun to see how the two play off of each other. There’s also an interesting mystery to solve regarding the villaness’s death. The love interest is also charming.
Formerly, the Fallen Daughter of the Duke (ongoing)
Read 5 Volumes  ||  Rating: 3/5
Review: Protagonist has been replaced by her half-sister and runs away. Protagonist and love interest are both pretty boring. There’s some interesting side characters that never get flesh out. Very strange plot. Overall somehow both weird and mediocre.
I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss (complete)
Read 3 Volumes  ||  Rating 3/5
Review: Protagonist gets dumped by prince, goes and asks the demon king to marry her. Art is cute, and it had potential, but ultimately it was pretty mediocre.
Also, the last three below only have 1 volume out in English so far, so I don't have reviews for them. But if you want to get in on the ground floor, these are just starting.
The Villainess Who Has Been Killed 108 Times: She Remembers Everything!
If the Villainess and Villain Met and Fell in Love
The Condemned Villainess Goes Back in Time and Aims to Become the Ultimate Villain

Wt thoughts: wiki drama updates and a rant
Okay, so a couple of days ago, I found myself scrolling through the World Trigger Discord. A mutual (who will remain anonymous because I don't want them to get harassed on the server) found out that the wiki admins (Part of an ongoing saga btw) talk about me there. I like to be in the know with people's shit-talking about me, so I thought I'd join and check it out.
Anyway, it was mostly just their opinions on my edits, but then I saw that they found my Tumblr and went through it to, like, critique my posts. Gross. Talk about obsessed, am I right, ladies? I thought Naruto fans were bad.
They also misgendered me, which is embarrassing considering that my pronouns are readily available in both my bio and my pinned post. When they finally figured it out, they were like, "I bet she'd freak out if she knew. lol." And sure, it's rude to assume someone's gender identity or pronouns, even on the internet, and they should be more mindful of that going forward, but I'm not about to freak out about it. Not everyone can read that well.
So, that's the update part. Now, it's time for my rant.
There was one thing that was said that bothered me.
For context, I wrote a post (Which one of these people referred to as a 'fic,' but that's beside the point) about how Ninomiya is totally in love with Hatohara, an opinion I had no idea was controversial. I literally just thought we all knew that. I mean, if you interpret Ninomiya's actions as platonic, then you are beyond my help.
So, based on that post, they assumed I ship NinoHara. I don't, since Hatohara's too good for Mr. Suit Man, but that's not why I'm annoyed.
I'm annoyed because this discussion led to someone saying that shippers "muddy the waters of the fandom."
[Deep breath in]
Do you realize what shippers have done for fandoms? Girls obsessing about the hot boys and ships saved Tokyo Revengers' anime from cancellation. You should be fucking grateful. It doesn't make a fandom 'unpure' to have a lot of shippers.
Considering that WT's western following is basically nonexistent, you should be on your knees begging people to ship more couples. It's a good way to bring more women into the fandom. You lure them in with the ships, then they get hooked on the plot and fights.
I've talked about this with my mutuals before, but getting women in your fanbase is essential if you want it to get bigger. Women produce more fan content than men (i.e. fanfiction, fanart, amvs, etc.). The more content that exists for a fandom, the more likely it is that new people will engage with it and become interested in watching your show.
A few weeks ago, I answered an anon's message about Gojo and Geto. The person had never seen or read Jujutsu Kaisen before, but because SatoSugu is such an iconic ship, they knew about it and wanted to know more. Can you even fathom that power?
People who hate shipping as a concept are among the most annoying I've encountered. It's gatekeeping, and it's stupid. Fandoms are for everyone, not just the people you like. No one's going to want to join us if you have an attitude like that. Like guys, the TWITTER part of the fandom has been the nicest to me. Twitter. Twitter users are so mean!
If you don't like me or my wiki edits that's fine, it's why I stopped editing, but I swear to God. I've been fighting for my life in the trenches of the internet, trying to bring people into this fandom. If your negative attitude gets in the way, I'm going to be pissed.
[Exhale]
Rant over.

Hey I've been following you for a long while and at this point I'm just gonna ask so I have some context with your reblogs, what is the untamed about? I don't get any of it but I don't wanna unfollow so maybe if I can be like "oh yeah it's those men in wigs doing x again" it'll be less confusing before I scroll on. Also happy new year!!
!!!!! oh, hi! Happy New Year! I really.... need to actually start tagging stuff..........
It’s. My latest hyperfixation/obsession. I’m sorry that I’ve been spamming... Honestly, I had the same thing going on, seeing all these gifs of pretty people on my dash and being like “what is going on, I gotta know”. Let me see if I can give you a brief summary. The good news is that it’s on Netflix if you’re curious or interested, and I believe there are a few sites you can find it streaming free, too, if you don’t have access to an account.
Meta stuff first: The Untamed is a Chinese period fantasy drama that came out in 2019. It’s 50 episodes long and is based on a Chinese online boy-love novel called Mo Dao Zu Shi, often translated as “Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation” or “Founder of Daibolism.” There’s also a manhua (manga) and a donghua (anime/cartoon) that are both ongoing and, unlike The Untamed, don’t censor the explicit romantic relationship between the main male lead and the secondary male lead. Or, at least, the manhua doesn’t. Given the donghua is ongoing, it’s a lot harder to tell whether or not that’ll end up explicit or just as heavily implied as The Untamed.
Plot wise, The Untamed follows the story of Wei Wuxian’s life, death, and return. The first two episodes are a bit confusing because you wind up dropped in the middle of things without very much context, beginning with a scene of Wei Wuxian’s death and then jumping forward in time to when another man, Mo Xuanyu, sacrifices himself in order to bring him back to life, so that Wei Wuxian might take revenge upon Mo Xuanyu’s family. The reason he opted to bring Wei Wuxian back is because Wei Wuxian is the scourge of the cultivation world.
(Cultivation is a path of magic and supernatural study by which someone cultivates their own spiritual energy in order to, ultimately, ascend to immortality. Cultivators do a lot of ghost hunting and monster slaying as well, making sure that spirits and souls are laid to rest. I do not know a whole lot about all of this because I am not Chinese and very new to Chinese media, so this is a very rough outline, but the important thing to know is that they’re sort of magicians and they take care of supernatural stuff. There are various sects that pursue specific specialties and paths of cultivation, and there’s a LOT of political intrigue going on as well.)
After the first couple of episodes, there begins an extended flashback to the years shortly before Wei Wuxian died to show how he went from one of the greatest and most admired cultivators of his generation to the most reviled. When things finally jump back to the present, the rest of the show focuses on the mystery set up in the first couple of episodes and Wei Wuxian rebuilding his relationships with the various people he loved in his former life, as well as--ultimately--clearing his name.
There’s a lot of political intrigue, drama, humor, romance, and tragedy. The show examines some serious themes of good vs. bad, how the actions of a person reflect upon those around them regardless of intention, how people can become trapped by the society around them, what does it mean to sacrifice, whether the ends justify the means. Despite all of that, the show DOES end on a hopeful, if somewhat bittersweet note, and even though the explicit gayness is censored, there’s more than enough to be like ‘oh, yeah, okay you two,’ about it, and neither of the couple are shoe-horned off into some forced heterosexual marriage in order to make it clear that they’re not gay or anything like that, which is nice. Plus I basically refer to the set up and beginning as “Unbury Your Gays” given that the first ten minutes or so involve Wei Wuxian coming back to life. Because I think I’m funny.
It’s a beautifully filmed series, so many of the actors are drop dead gorgeous, the plot is engaging, the soundtrack is to die for, and I drool over the costumes. Basically, highly recommend. It’s not without it’s problems (the women characters are few but kick-ass, but also most of them die), and there’s definitely some triggering stuff in there--death, dismemberment, self-harm, suicide, and incest, and probably more that I’m not able to remember, so if you do watch it and any of those are triggers, proceed with caution.
But in general, I HIGHLY recommend it. I found a whole new sub-genre of fantasy that I never knew about! I’m telling myself I’m not going to learn Mandarin but I’m probably going to break soon.
Also, I’m really flattered that you actually asked me because you like my chaotic blog so much instead of just being like ‘meh, guess it’s time to unfollow.’ OTL Thank you.

November Favorites 2020!
 Hello!
So as you may have seen I have been uploading a bunch of art all of November, not every week because of my crippling job at the moment taking away my sanity.lol. But i did try my best to update whenever I can. I do have so much more to complete so please look out this December for more digital art being pumped out
How are you all doing?  I'm holding up decently, I'm trying to avoid talking about covid since that's all i've been hearing from work and home and it's really making me anxious since i'm not able to work from home due to the nature of my job. I hope you all are holding up hope and taking care of your selves, let's all remember that there is a time after this and we will get through this.
with that being said I will have a lot more time to spend on my art after January since my work term is going to end and I don't plan to stay for an extension, so maybe then I'll catch up on all of my previous art that I was supposed to upload, a.k.a my hero academia ones.lol
also I'm still chugging along reading more manhwa (web toons ) from korean and chinese artists, i'm so disappointed in myself for not discovering these sooner, these stories are really good and so much effort was put into the art panels, as I have said all I've read was manga so i'm used to just seeing black and white panels, so i never really dove into web toons though I have appreciated the work put into it, now that I'm down the rabbit hole I am discovering really good story lines that are different from the manga I've read thus far and I'm really enjoying it!
so i'm excited to share my thoughts on everything I've been liking
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                           Manhwa/Manga/Webtoon
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so previously in last months recommendations I have talked about a few of the manhwa I've been reading so I'll briefly list those below since they are all still ongoing
1) who's baby is it
2) to be or no to be
3) social temperature
4) salad days
all of them are still ongoing and i'm still in the process of reading them so I can't give a full review till it's completed but so far I am still enjoying them, that's definitely a good sign since i tend to just drop something after I don''t find it interesting anymore at some point in the story. If you have not read my October favorites journal please do so for my initial thoughts on these manhwas. Now i'm actually going to talk about some of the ones that are completed   , so you can definitely read all of them without waiting for the an update from translators, lol
this is in no particular order, just fyi
1) Path to you
Tumblr media
"When almost college dropout Jensen attempts to drink away his problems, unemployed Nathaniel( Neil ) suddenly pukes on him and ruins his night. As an apology, Nathaniel offers to help Jensen with his studies. Despite Jensen's difficulties in getting along with people, the two become friends and something deeper begins to grow between them...”
this is the summary from one of the manga websites I was able to find, it does not even describes the emotional plot line that goes along with this later, this is ones of my absolute favorites! I love this manhwa so much, its a great depiction of a coming of age story for collage students going through their life journey and slowly getting though life's difficulties  and challenges, one character is going though emotional trauma and trying to over come it for years and another character is going through anti social disorder and discovering his sexuality, it's a plot line that portrayed human aspects in life quite well. I love the relationship between the two main character and how their relationship developed over time from being friends to being a couple. there is a lot of relationship building and minimal drama, which is really refreshing from mangas that I've read, so if you are just starting to delve into BL webtoons, please read this first! you will not be disappointed
with that being said, I love Neil, so much.... you don't even know. lol. He's so precious, literally like an actual cinnamon roll. LOL. i'm exposing myself ...so i'll leave it at that, i’m also wondering why his name is neil instead of nathan or nate...? lol.
2) Here U Are
Tumblr media
"Orientation of  the newcomers is a task for YuYang, and he ends up helping the unsociable and towering LiHuan, the kind of person that does everything to be disliked. But after better knowing each other, he discovers that the giant isn’t that bad of a person at all...”
I really wish I could find better summaries, lol. but it's to the point without giving away too much so i'll take it. This is one of the most popular series and I can totally see why after reading it, this story has every possible human aspect and relationship building  between the two main leads, I actually teared in some parts of this manhwa and I've never done that before! such a good story and plot line, if I were to pick any series in a web toon to be animated then I would choose this series hands down. There's also sub plots between different characters as well and how they deal with their interpersonal relationships and relationships between the two main leads, I love it! This is everything I want in a story, so please check this one out
also yuyang looks a lot like miyuki Kazuya from Daiya no ace and that just made me drawn to him.I really liked his personality and in the manhwa he has girls and guys in love with him and dude...I get it.
3) BJ Alex
Tumblr media
"Every night at 10, Dong-gyun locks himself up in his room, grabs a box of tissues, and watches a live cam boy show hosted by Alex, a BJ (broadcast jockey). Timid Dong-gyun admires not only Alex’s ripped body, but his candor in sharing his sexual experiences with viewers. One night, Dong-gyun downs too many drinks at a school networking event and passes out. When he wakes up, he’s in bed staring up at a shirtless hunk. A hunk who looks an awful lot like...Alex.”
so um...this is more yaoi than shounen ai cause of all the graphic scenes in the manhwa, if you are veteran you may have already read this one cause its really popular. It also has a lot of comedic elements to it too so it's not too serious, but the relationship developed between the two characters later on is really sweet despite the infinite amount of sex scenes. Not much else to say about this story, it's easy to follow and the only abuse in here is the emotional kind
I'm not really entirely sure how i felt about it in the beginning but the end is really good
4) No way, vampires don't exist
Tumblr media
"Four college housemates — Juwon, Eunho, Seongjae, and Gyumin — are in desperate need of a fifth person to fill a vacant room in their place. But their main concern isn’t about paying rent: they’re ravenous vampires, dying to sink their teeth into a fresh, live human! So they can’t believe their luck when Dongha, who grew up isolated from society, eagerly moves in with no idea of what awaits him. To the vampires’ dismay, however, Dongha doesn’t weigh enough for them to suck his blood! As they shower their unsuspecting new housemate with food and attention to fatten him up, have they gotten too attached to their would-be prey? And is there more to sweet, naive Dongha than meets the hungry vampires’ eyes?”
I have to preface by saying that ever since my twilight phase, I didn't consume anything that had to do with vampires for a very long time, for obvious reasons, but this one I just came across after reading path to you and thought I would at least check it out. It started off really comedic and I was like...what am i reading?  but it gets really light hearted and wholesome later on in the story. What I like about this is the character juwon, If you look at him he's that type of character that would look like the stoic a-hole of the story and those characters never appeal to me. But turns out he's the sweetest person most decent person of this story, it makes you want to route for him  and another thing I like about this story is that it looks like a harem but you can tell that there’s only one person the main character doungha treats differently from the rest and how the two are compatible with one another.  in these kind of stories, it’s always treated as every character is a possible route that leads to their own story but in here....there's only one...let's be real. This is one that is an odd ball cause it's technically completed but the translations are not...so i had to read the rest in korean, which makes it a good practice for me since i'm learning korean at the moment, it’s a good exercise...lol
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                             Anime/ Drama
  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not going to lie this department is lacking...lol. I have only been watching Heavens official blessing as mentioned in the last journal
but I have just found out that there is a remake of Shaman king in the making....and my little girl heart is screaming cause I loved shaman king when i was younger...so I can't wait for that
as for dramas, I've tried watching Start Up but I didn't like it so I dropped it, I might try watching crash landing on you since my best friend was obsessed with it, I watched a little of it but I left it since I was busy so i may get back to watching it from the beginning
-------------------------------------------------------------------
                             Music
--------------------------------------------------------------------
i'll put together a play list for you when you read these manga/manhwa...lol. cause that's what i've been doing
Playlist
Crush- No words
Sam kim - Breathe
Crush - let us go
Kim feel - falling
Paul kim - Dream
Kim feel - Hallelujah
Davichi - please don't cry
Yoo mirae - say
taeyeon - a poem called you
baek yerin- Here I am again
I wish tumblr has a way to play music on your page, without copy right..lol. I would share all of these songs cause they are so good
------------------------------------------------------------------------
so that's it for the month of November, lets' see what i get up to for December, I will be updating as frequently as possible so please look out for more art from me and follow me on my social media , I will see you all next time
bye!
