Pokemon Mini Headcanons

Realized it's been a solid minute since I've shared anything. so! here's some pokemon headcanon tidbits that have kinda been floating around in my head but I don't have anywhere to put them yet:

Barry is extremely tall. Like, at least six feet. Since he's very visibly the goofy type, it's not super intimidating until suddenly he's barreling down the street and nearly knocking people over in his wake. He's also incredibly clumsy, so it's kind of a bull(tauros?)-in-a-china-shop situation.

Leaf is part of the team that revolutionized and maintains the PSS (not part of the original team though, she's too young for that), which is of course led by Bill. Where Bill came up with the, made the team, and did a bunch of hardware stuff, Leaf is in charge of software stuff and does coding for the different programs. As for the rest of the team. well. I don't know who they are bc I haven't gotten that far.

Also, Red's sign name for Leaf is Green, as in, literally the sign for the color (the same goes for Blue). Blue's often calls her Greenie as a result.

As Hoenn's Champion, Brendan is considered a very down-to-earth and blunt person, which is great and all until you remember he's from the ✨️bearimba pokeverse✨️'s equivalent of Florida and is basically Reigning Florida Man Supreme. He's definitely done some crazy stuff but it kinda gets shoved on the back burner (that definitely isn't partially because the media pushes his more serious side in order to fight the "all Hoennians are unhinged" allegations).

Lucas is legally deaf (deaf but not Deaf, he lost his hearing as a kid) and uses hearing aids. He can kinda sorta understand people without them, but it's less like he understands the words and more like he understands the sounds that are supposed to be word, so it's way more convenient to keep them in. Whenever he doesn't want to deal with Dawn's and Barry's shenanigans, he just turns them off, closes his eyes, and relishes in the relative peace and quiet.

He's also the one who gets transported back to Hisui during the final battle with Dialga/Palkia/Giratina. Long story short (bearimba DPPt/PLA rewrite when?), his hearing aids get destroyed in the process of getting transported and he's forced to go through the events of PLA at a huge disadvantage, mostly relying on his quick wit and vast knowledge of pokemon to survive the game.

Lorelei, Karen, and Clair are all besties, and they meet up regularly to have brunch and share the latest gossip (aka pooling together their resources to gather info on their enemies, discuss the most recent affairs in Kanto/Johto, and more, all under the guise of "girls' time").

Silver and Janine first meet when Silver gets accidentally caught up in a prank meant for the E4, for which Janine very vehemently apologizes (under threat from Koga) and Silver reluctantly forgives her (under threat from Lance). They get along surprisingly well after that, especially after they both get involved in the Kanto League as gym leaders, and they eventually become pretty good friends.

Team Rocket was kinda just a shady family business until Giovanni took over in his twenties. In the 30ish years he presided over the it, he managed to develop it into a massive, multi-level and multi-department organization with their fingers in just about every aspects of the Kanto economy before their collapse. (all things considered, it's kinda funny/pathetic how things ended---he had all this power, then just threw all that and his kid out the window because some teenager happened to beat him in a pokemon battle)

Indigo Plateau (the actual plateau itself, not the League building) is pretty unique in that it's literally a plateau in the middle of a bunch of mountains. which. isn't really how geography works. Story goes, it was originally a mountain that served as the battleground for a pair of ridiculously overpowered trainers, and it got leveled in the middle of all the fighting. In honor of the plateau's legend, there was a regularly held tournament for pokemon trainers to decide who was the best of the best in the region. Eventually, some guy decided to make it an "official" event, and that's how the Pokemon League got its start before it spread and became an international organization!

Overall, I like this team. I do wish there was ways to utilize the dark type boosts more, but I think overall this works. I love the idea of Witch Fern lol. I know that's not exactly his aesthetic in canon, but it's very fun to imagine. He would not wear a witch hat, he refuse.

I think the reason I went with latias instead of Latios was bc 1) it was most used by Saph I think and 2) I think it's the one that can actually use a fairy move lol.

Not much to say with Saphira's team, really. I simply choose pokemon that I thought would fit her. If the normal/fairy option on the poll won, I would have made her typing Dragon/Fire, but ah well. I think Dragon/Steel fits just as well. Maybe Titania gave her pointers. Speaking of which, fun fact! When choosing for Leo's E4, it was between her and Titania got the spot. I obviously ended up choosing Saph, but trust me it was hard. The biggest reason was bc I wanted to stay a bit away from the Another Time E4. Just a bit. That being said, and this is the fun fact, Titania eventually gets that role when Shelly becomes champion! Yes, Shelly becomes champion after Leo. It's a back and forth for a while ( and for the Adrienn's sake, Titania and Saphira don't switch each time Leo or Shelly becomes champion again), but inevitably, Shelly becomes the permanent Champion of Reborn, and thus, Titania becomes one of her E4. I like to think Shelly made Titania swear she's for keeps lol.

If there's one thing I will say about this team is that it's pretty slow. While I love Steelix, maybe I should replace it with something that can provide tailwind support?

I'm bad at calculating damage, but if I did the math right overall Fire Pledge and Heat Wave does the same damage overall ( fire Pledge gets booster by the field and sun, heat wave just gets boosted by the sun), and is a spread move. Maybe Fire Pledge for The Culture + when/if sunlight fades, it's still going 120 damage with better accuracy. So.

Arguably the one that best utilizes this field lmao. " But R this is a normal/fire team, why is Aegislash-" 1) it's too iconic not to get man and 2) there's plenty of elite 4 members that are said to master a single type but have pokemon in their teams that aren't that type. If anything, Taka here is the least offensive bc he only really has one, where the others had multiple. I just think Taka should use his cool sword more.

The biggest thing with this team is that I want it to be a doubles team, bc Taka generally battles in doubles in the post game, but this team. Is so rock slide weak man. And ngl I feel like I could have added more normal types outside of the two.

AND THAT'S EVERYTHING YIPPEE!!!!!! I love team building but am I the best at it? Nah. So if anyone has any suggestions on what I should change, feel free to send an ask!

Overall this elite 4 has this cute fantasy theme to it. Heather- the flying maiden, Fern - the witch in the woods, Saphira - the mighty dragon and Taka - the knight that protects his king ( Leo ). It was honestly accidental but I love it.

Full tier list is here, breaking down the E-tier. I'll be honest, a lot of this tier is where I have general frustrations that aren't enough to make the significant dislike of F, but I have. Problems.

In case anyone was wondering, I am not going into the same depth as the last one.

Zinnia: neat concept, horrid execution. Delta episode sucks and she exudes nothing to me.

Hau: inoffensive but incredibly boring. Don't like the USUM decision to force him into serious battling.

Marnie: should be interesting as your rival, but all the neat stuff went to Piers, so she's super bland.

Malva/Siebold: Kalos E4 members I do not respect.

Gaeric/Calaba/Liam: Pearl Clan members I don't really care about.

Hugh: "You're about to feel my rage." Shut up, dweeb.

Kofu: bland.

Mina: uninterested, also your trial sucks ass.

Sophocles: I will never forgive Festival Plaza.

Molayne: couldn't care less.

Marlon: Centrist.

Burgh: Not flamboyant enough.

Magnolia: should be great! Unfortunately Galar decided to kick the only old lady professor we ever had to the curb for her hot granddaughter. Thanks for that.

Trevor: Dweeb, sucks at his only interest.

Maylene/Norman/Ramos/Wattson/Blaine: uninteresting Leaders.

Lana: Specifically bad in games, anime iteration is much improved. Games all she seems to do is go on about swimmers, which weirds me out.

Wulfric/Ilima: meh.

Giovanni: Loser lord supreme. Never accomplished a single goal his entire life. Literally had an entire criminal empire that kept Kanto in thrall that he probably inherited from his father, and lost it overnight to a ten year old boy and his rat. They keep trying to imbue him with some grand evil importance but he continuously shows us even in Masters that he is an impotent garbage man. I hear the manga makes him neat.

Juan: pointless, they should've done something more interesting to replace Wallace's gym.

Cress/Cilan/Chili: there's a reason you three weren't taking on Plasma.

Clemont: I actually do not like him, and the anime didn't help.

Bea: where are your organs?

Oleana: Actually really frustrating, because people seem to only like her for being blandly conventionally attractive, but she exudes nothing of a personality despite wild over-dependence on a man, and abuses Bede for personal gain. Hate her.

Misty: Never liked her, sorry.

Surge: Bootlicker.

Jacq: Man, I think it's just the "app designer" thing, but he rubs me the wrong way so bad.

Salvatore: actually inoffensive, but they give him nothing at all to work with.

Nita: I kinda like the Maison sisters, but Nita feels bland.

Buck: literally forgot his name.

Lucy: very little knowledge. I did like the anime iteration though.

Argenta: little to go on.

Benga: Kinda hate him after Masters had him talk to Lance. "You haven't been through enough to fight me, middle aged Champion man!" You are like twelve. Cool your jets.

Ortega: needs his ass beat. Not in like a bullying way, but in an "Eri needs to have a very blunt conversation about how manners work."

Mela: I am not compelled. Outfit is atrocious.

Victor: the unfair one. It's Reddit's fault.

Sina/Dexio: I never liked them to begin with, but then someone posited that Diantha could've used her acting skills to do their faux superhero thing in XY to keep infiltrating Team Flare and now I'll never forgive them.

Noland: eh.

Selene: cute outfit, nothing to work with.

Trace?: I hate the Let's Go rival. He's so bland and non-confrontational in every way. He exudes nothing to me.

Chase: Pikachu sucks, deal with it.

Elio: He gives me monkey child vibes. I do not like monkeys.

Juliana/violet boy: Really uninspiring protagonist designs.

Bellis: all you do is talk in different languages at random without reason and I hate that gimmick.

Wicke: exudes nothing but bad vibes. My wife caught it too and we agree, she should've just been evil.

Charon: at least a little funny in how boring he is.

Faba: bland and too expendable, easily dupes people into getting over Lusamine in USUM.

Archer/Ariana/Proton: Team Rocket just sucks, man. Nothing going on at all.

i'm pretty happy that the club room rematches give you a chance to test out new teams without consequence (other than the money penalty but who cares, i'm rich). i've been rematching the elite four and kieran with my OG team that i used for my first SV run and apparently they can beat the E4, but not kieran (i also didn't use items just to be fair since my competitive team didn't need to). so if the game actually allowed you to fail, then he would've reigned supreme had i used my first team.

Tropetastic & hot af, exactly what I wanted from a book with this set up. But my fave thing was the absolutely hilarious porn star names: Richard Knotz, our main MC wolf shifter. I do, however, also enjoy pokemon games and visual novel games like Ace Attorney and Dangenronpa, I'm also attempting Zelda breath of the wild but I'm still deciding how I feel about it since it's really different then games I usually play!)

And I do have an oc for Tmnt named Kaede! She's human and sincerely sucks at fighting, but I love her! I have different variations of her depending on the version!

♡ Lord of the rings and the hobbit

With my personality I struggle to actually see myself in the universe since I'm not as ethereal or impressive as any of them 😅

But I'm fond of the fanon ship of Bagginsheild and I love dwarven culture! I don't know why I just do!

I do have an oc named Islyn and she has a really complicated story that I'm not getting into rn! But I personally ship her with Glorfindel! (I don't usually like elves as much as dwarves but Glorfindel just kind of somehow became special to me! I guess I also like Elrond too but Glorfindel is #1)

I am playing pokemon scarlet atm! :)

But I've played every game since soulsilver and heartgold and watched the anime too!!!

I have three ocs because...yeah! (Satomi, Kyrene, Andromeda)

But the oc I'll probably talk about most is Andromeda/Andy! She's such a sweet lil' sapphic!!! She's got a huge crush on Rika in Paldea's E4!

Another character I like a lot is Colress from Unova!!! I just like him!!! My oc Kyrene is interested in him!

The Supreme fam (Stephen, Tony, Peter, Morgan, Harley, America) is my found family and my comfort when things just aren't great at home

So...since the MCU established that there's a multiverse...here's my sort of my world for these existing characters!

And my Oc Savannah/Sav is biologically related to both Stephen and Tony and there's a whole space and magic reason why!

Summary:

It is said that on this day, the Tang monk, master and his apprentices went through thousands of mountains and rivers, and came to a place called Flame Mountain. The flames here stretched for hundreds of miles, blocking the road to the west. It turned out that Sun Wukong made a disturbance in the Heavenly Palace five hundred years ago and knocked over the alchemy furnace of the Supreme Lord Laozi. The true fire of samadhi descended from the sky, accomplishing another tribulation on the path of learning the scriptures. Tang Seng is frowning, Zhu Bajie retreats before the battle, and Monkey King plans to ask the wife of the Bull Demon King to extinguish the fire with a plantain fan.

However, when Sun Wukong subdued Red Boy, he had already formed a relationship with his sworn brothers and husband and wife. Princess Iron Fan, who is eager to love her son, hated him deeply, and fanned him to the little Sumeru fifty thousand miles away with a fan. After two or three fights, Wukong finally borrowed the precious fan, but unexpectedly he borrowed a fake one. In desperation, Wukong asked the Bull Demon King for help, but... This film is adapted from the 59th to 61st chapters of the Chinese classical mythological novel "Journey to the West".

A Southeast Asian Trinity Featuring the Monkey King

Ronni Pinsler of the BOXS project recently introduced me to the Immortal Master Yellow Elder (Huang Lao xianshi, 黃老仙師) folk religion sect of Malaysia and Singapore. It features an intriguing trinity with the Monkey King as the Great Sage Patriarch (Dasheng fozu, 大聖佛祖) in the center, the aforementioned deity to his left, and the Most High Elder Lord (Taishang laojun, 太上老君; a.k.a. Laozi, 老子) to his right. Combined, they respectively represent Confucianism, Buddhism, and Daoism. This is shocking as Sun Wukong replaces the Buddha himself as a representative of the “Three Teachings” (sanjiao, 三教). Needless to say, his inclusion here elevates the Monkey King from a mid-tier god to a supreme one.
