X my muse doesn’t remember anything from the night before. They have blood on their hands, and your muse is beaten at their feet. oops

No. That was the first word that popped into Parker’s head when he woke up, tucked into Mackenzie’s bed. He couldn’t remember the previous night, the all too familiar bitter taste rising up into his throat. “Mack?” He managed almost inaudiably, getting up from the bed faster than he even thought he could. Staggering, Parker moved towards the bathroom, gropping for a stable surface. He had a terrible headache and bright lights were blinding, but he made his way into the next room. Mackenzie was curled up with her back against the tub, facing away from the door. Parker’s breath escaped him as he moved to help her, painfully slowly, like everything around him was underwater. For the first time as he was reaching out, Parker noticed his hands. The knuckles were bruised, caked with flecks of dried blood. “Shit.” He murmred, disgusted with himself. “Mackenzie, I’m so sorry.” He shifted to support her against his side, guiding her to her bed. He swallowed hard as he kneeled in front of her to look over her face. “I’m so, so sorry." He repeated as a croak, his throat felt like it was closing in on itself. "I really fucked up."

The words immediately make him scoff, and he scrunches his nose in disagreement, shaking his head. The beach is quiet save the soft roar of the waves, and the sky is dark, but the night is warm enough for the two of them to be out there at the late hour, a bottle of tequila split easily between them. "As if I'd even have a will," he denies, glancing at her from the corner of his eye, cheeks feeling warm and stomach even warmer. "That would mean that I actually gave a shit about you lot to give my stuff to you, and that isn't happening any time soon," he says with a twisted grin, pushing sand at her.
