So here’s part two of my three part series on using the 45.7mp sensor of the Nikon Z 9 to my advantage. . This photo takes on a head-on approach to highlight the uniqueness of the Humber Bay Arch bridge. It’s a simple looking image but there’s a lot going on here. . I eliminated any distracting elements in this crop so we can focus on the silhouette of the bridge and lines. I love how the tiny human stayed still for a while allowing me to take several photos with him in focus. . Since the sun was low to the horizon we get side lighting, creating the shadows of every ripple you see on the lake. And of course we get the beautiful colours of the sunrise reflecting off the surface of the water too. . See the metal cables of the bridge? Each one is in pairs except for the one. Why? Because that particular cable is on the same axis as my camera, hiding the rear cable directly behind the front one. I didn’t Center this cable in the frame on purpose as I liked the asymmetric feel this brought to the overall image. The tiny human is framed strategically to balance the overall composition with this single cable. .
