#superman: up up and away!

I never really liked the whole “Clark Kent is who I am, Superman is what I do” thing. It makes it feel like Superman is not a real expression of Clark’s personality and methods, putting more emphasis on Clark’s humanity at the expense of his alien heritage. Personally I prefer more balanced takes like in Birthright or Up Up and Away where Superman and the mild mannered reporter are both expressions of the same guy and you see how they connect when Clark’s interacting with Lois or his family. 

That way, there’s still a contrast between the two personas but you get a more nuanced and interesting character out of it.
