'Enough already!': Valencian newspaper shockingly claim that the club want 'justice' over Vinicius Jr race-row... and insist the Brazilian acted like a 'spoiled brat' during Real Madrid's visit to the Mestalla

A newspaper based in Valencia has claimed that the club demand 'justice' over suggestions their fans were racist towards Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr.

The Brazilian winger has been targeted with racism and hateful messages 10 times this year, with racist chanting at Valencia on Sunday the latest vile example.

The majority of media reaction, from Spain, has been in support of the Madrid star. Major outlet Marca outlined how the nation must become an 'anti-racist country'.

However, despite the outcry from national outlets, there is one newspaper that suggests there was no racial abuse and that Madrid deployed a 'smokescreen'.

Valencia-based outlet SuperDeporte produced a lengthy piece, on Tuesday, that claimed the hosts were the real 'victims' from the unsavoury scenes at the Mestalla.

The article included excerpts such as: 'Using racism to cover other miseries is completely unworthy. The players, in addition, must be good professionals.

'And while it's not a justification for anything at all, they still shouldn't behave in an arrogant way towards the public. 'It is still a fact that eight of the nine complaints filed in Antiviolencia from LaLiga for racism have been for insults to that same footballer.

'Racism, intolerance, xenophobia and hatred are intolerable. And so is, even if we are criticised, the manipulation and the smokescreen deployed from Madrid. Here we defend Valencia, we are going to continue doing so and we are not afraid of anything or anyone.'

Further comments made in the article suggested that Vinicius Jr 'is the spoiled child of Real Madrid' and is a 'footballer who does not learn' from his issues.

Despite SuperDeporte's assertion that the home fans were respectful on the day, a number of arrests have already been made relating to the incident.

Espíritu del 86, a Valencia fan group, also issued a statement on the incident - which was published in the same outlet - labelling Vinicius a 'bad athlete', and taking a swipe at manager Carlo Ancelotti and Real president Florentino Perez.

They said: 'Zero tolerance for racism, for hiding in the crowd, utter insults that denigrate. Condemn and persecute this attitude in our football and society.

Zero tolerance for those who hide behind the crest of a large club, a bad athlete, bad colleague, bad example as a leader.'

'Because the brat or the more mature one who insults and commits racism is just as bad as the athlete who constantly mocks the fans and fellow professionals.

'Yesterday there were our own players on the field and those of the rival with these characteristics, there are many who play on the football fields of our Spanish league and all the problems have to do with the same subject.

'Please don't be ridiculous, stop him and I'm sure 90% of the problems he's having will be solved. Let the rest continue, let sports justice act or not.'

While Vinicius Jr had remained largely silent since the upsetting scenes on Sunday, he has since lashed out at perpetrators who have sought to make his life a misery. Taking to Instagram, the winger posted a picture of the Christ the Redeemer statue bathed in darkness with a statement saying: 'Black and imposing. Christ the Redeemer was just like that.

'An action of solidarity that moves me. But I want, above all, to inspire and bring more light to our struggle.

'I really appreciate all the chain of affection and support I've received in the last few months. Both in Brazil and around the world. I know exactly who's who. Count on me because the good ones are the majority and I won't give up.

'I have a purpose in life and if I have to suffer more and more so that future generations don't go through similar situations, I'm ready and prepared.'

Ninguna. Pero le tienen que inventar rivales al City en Europa porque como no los tiene históricos. Literal el fan medio del Madrid solo se interesa porque perdamos nosotros, que pierda el Barça y que ganen ellos. En ese orden, de hecho. Va a importarles el City si no te saben nombrar a 3 jugadores. Lo que odian es a Guardiola. Y ya cuando se vaya, pasando de ellos aún más.

Y es tontería. Las rivalidades se forjan durante años. O tras unos partidos concretos por lo que sea. No se pueden forzar desde la prensa porque los fans pasan. Tiene más rivalidad Ficticius con Superdeporte que el Madrid con el City. No te digo más.

Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella looks set to leave the club in the summer, with his agents reportedly in talks about a possible return to his native Spain. Spanish media outlet Superdeporte reported that the 22-year-old’s representatives have spoken with Levante as they seek a new club for the player, whose contract at Anfield expires in June and who is unlikely to extend his stay on Merseyside. Pedro Chirivella’s struggles at Liverpool Chirivella was just 16 when he was signed by Liverpool back in 2013 and he appeared in a handful of first team matches in the 2015/16 season but his struggles for a genuine breakthrough at Anfield prompted loan moves to Go Ahead Eagles and Willem II. Clarkson came off the bench to make his senior Liverpool debut when a youthful Reds side lost to Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup four months ago.
