Leaves
In the backyard, there’s an old treehouse visible from Lena’s window. Kara had seen it during their first sleepover when Lena stepped out to change. She found herself alone, wandering the room in curiosity to try and make sense of it all.
She took in the mahogany trim around the ceilings and the rows of blue first place ribbons on the walls. She read every inscription under every trophy– going through awards for chess, equestrian, and even fencing. It was only when she heard a tree branch tapping on the window that she’d gone out and looked through the glass and saw the garden for the first time.
It was a beautiful, wide open space. Perfectly maintained and bordered with neatly trimmed hedges and an overgrown oak tree towards the end. Cozied around it, was a worn out treehouse and a stained American flag hanging off the side.
Kara had stood with her hands on the windowsill, expression solemn and tried to imagine what it must’ve been like when it was still used. She thought about how not that many years ago, Lex was a teenager with sad eyes just like his sister’s. He was a little boy with wildly curly hair who would’ve played in that hideout all alone.
The same man who wanted her, and all of her kind dead, had once been her best friend’s big brother. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Kara closed her eyes and tried to picture what that must’ve been like.
Did Lex ever jump into piles of leaves with his little sister just to disturb the person raking them? Did he pick Lena up when she fell and scraped her knees, or just leave her there to cry? Did he ever know how to love? Did he somehow forget?
He must’ve, Kara thinks. There had to be a reason Lena was still so attached to him. He had to have done something to deserve the hope she held in her heart for so long.
But when Kara sees Lena now and looks into her tired, hollow eyes, it all becomes a jumbled, confusing mess again.
One day, Lex was human and the next, he was a monster. And in the process, he managed to take down the person who loved him most. I’m sorry, is all she wants to say. You deserved so much better.

This ficlet is a scene from a high school AU. A high school AU that doesn’t exist yet because I haven’t written it and between the pirate AU and another I’m working on, it’ll be a while before I get to it.
It’s still living in my head and it needs to be free.
Tonight. She was going to tell Lena tonight. She had to, because if she kept this secret another day, another hour, another minute, she would die. There was never going to be another night so perfect as this one. The sky was clear over their heads and ablaze with stars, the moon hiding her face in shadow.
Kara wished Lena could see it the way she saw it, see the waves of particles scattering across the upper atmosphere and the glory of the stars.
“I wish I could share it with you.”
Lena made a soft sound. She lay back against Kara, sitting in the sand between Kara’s legs. They were a good mile up the beach, far from where anyone would find them, warmed by the fire Kara had started.
“Share what?” said Lena.
“The sky. I wish I could give you the sky.”
Lena shifted where she sat, turning in Kara’s lap to lean her head on Kara’s shoulder and look up at her. Lena was so beautiful that there were no words in English that could express what Kara felt when she looked at her. Green eyes flickered in glow from the fire, their boundless depths alive with yet more light than the endless tide of stars above their heads.
Sitting there in Kara’s sweatshirt, her hands tucked inside the sleeves for warmth, she was everything. Kara gently, experimentally, brought a hand up to draw a stray lock of curly dark hair away from Lena’s face. It was crossing the line, but they’d crossed the line so many times during these last weeks of summer, the line itself had been scratched to nothing.
Lena still stared directly into Karan’s eyes, emerald vistas more spectacular than any vista on any world she’d traveled. Kara adored her, everything about her, from the soft dimples that formed when she laughed to the way she could solve calculus problems in her head.
She wondered if Lena would have been matched to her on Krypton. She didn’t think she cared what a machine would think.
“Kara?” Lena whispered, tilting her chin up, inviting. Anticipating.
It was the most natural thing in the world for the hand that tamed the stray locks to now take Lena’s chin in the softest grip, for the other hand that rested on her thigh to slide up and take a possessive hold on her hip. It was like gravity drawing time together as Lena’s soft lips met hers.
The kiss was soft, halting, as much a question as an answer, and yet in that soft brushing of lips upon lips, a simple close-mouthed peck on the lips, a declaration was made. Lena almost went limp as she relaxed, safe for the hand that reached up to gently gather Kara’s neck and offer a silent affirmation for her to continue.
The fire was low by the time Kara knew they had to go. They walked up the beach together towards where Lena had parked them.
“What are we going to do?” Lena asked.
It was as much that question that brought them back to the real world, as it was the asphalt of the roadside pull-off. The question had been hanging over them like a deadly weight for weeks. Lena was going to MIT. Kara was going to NCU. There would be three thousand miles between them, and worse than that, no more sneaking around Midvale, free Lena’s parents watching them.
“Anything,” Kara said. “I won’t give up on us, ever.”
Lena said nothing, looking a little green now as she took the wheel of her Mercedes, a gift from her father before he died.
Kara sat beside her and kept the silence, but couldn’t take her eyes from Lena.
So, she almost didn’t see it coming.
High beams flicked on behind them, Lena crying out from the blinding flash in her rear view mirror. There was a sickening crunch as the car slammed into Lena’s bumper, and the driver was twisting the wheel.
“He’s trying to run us off the road,” Kara said, too calm.
“Hold on.”
Lena was a skilled driver, as capable as she was in everything she did. It didn’t matter. They were driving along a cliff overlooking the beach, a good fifty foot drop to the sand below.
There was no time. The car rammed them again, and Lena screamed, her cries turning to pure terror as the car turned against her will at the jarring impact. It spun, the world flailing crazily around them, and then came the inevitable lurch as the Mercedes careened over the shoulder and began to roll.
Kara threw herself across the gap between them, pulling Lena into a fetal position, shielding her with her own back. The car slammed onto its roof and Kara grunted as the struts gave way and sheet metal pancaked against her. Lena was screaming, clutching Kara with such a painful desperation.
The car rolled and rolled, crushing in around them. Finally, it stopped, settling on its roof, against a dune. Lena gasped, drawing in a shocked breath.
“What… how…”
“Hush,” Kara murmured. “I have you.”
Lena looked into Kara’s eyes.
Kara flexed. She planted her feet on the roof and pushed, digging her back into the console. Lena clutched her tighter as the wreckage shifted, the entire chassis of the car rising as Kara stood, finally releasing her arms from Lena’s body. She put her palms against the wreckage and braced her back and pushed.
With a shriek of protesting metal, the entire car lifted over her head. Kara rose to her full height, two tons of steel and plastic resting on her palms as she easily raised it above her head.
She threw it, heaving it away. It crash landed in the sand a dozen yards away, carving a crater in the earth as it landed.
“There they are!” a voice called. “What the hell?”
Kara knew that voice. Otis Graves. One of Lex Luthor’s thugs.
“Who cares? Boss said to finish them. Shoot her.”
“Kara, get-“
Muzzle flashes lit the night. Kara stood her ground. The bullets struck her skin with soft, almost metallic pings. Kara reached down and plucked a bullet from the air, half a foot from Lena’s head. She screamed.
Lena’s terrified cry drove her over the edge. She crossed the gap between her and the two thugs in half a second, her eyes blazing with red sun fire. Kara slapped the gun out of Graves’s hand, curling it into a useless ball of twisted steel before it hit the ground.
Then, she grabbed him by the throat, hauled him up, and threw him. He rolled across the sand, crying out as a bone crunched in the landing. The man with him simply screamed Jesus Christ! and broke into a run.
“Kara? Kara!” Lena shouted, “oh my God, you’ve been shot! They shot you!”
“I’m okay,” she whispered.
Kara slipped her arms under Lena and lifted her easily from the sand.
“Put your arms around my neck, and hold on,” she said, taking Lena in a bridal carry. “I’m taking you back to my house. We need help. Eliza will know what to do.”
“How? Kara, we’re an hour away by car!”
“Do you trust me?”
Lena pressed tightly against her, shaking.
“I will always protect you,” Kara promised. “Always.”
“I trust you.”
Kara flew.

looking for a supercorp fic
I'm looking for a fanfic. Here's what I know:
High school AU.
kara is a popular jock
Lena is nerdy
They both have crushes on each other
The fic is from what I remember telling Lena's side of the story. Main things I remember about the plot is that Lena has a pro con list about dating kara and that kara finds it and gets hurt by it. and that one of her friends (either Veronica or Andrea) is jealous and does not like the idea of kara dating lena.
I'm not sure if it was a one shot or a multi chapter
Any help finding it would be appreciated!

hiii Mary, what's your favorites supercorp fics?
I think it's been a year since I've read one and I miss themmm, but I'm so picky and lazy that I give up before even trying to find one I like ☠️☠️
aaaand you're an absolutely amazing writer, which means you also have an impeccable taste
so can you share your recommendations pretty please? 🥺
i'm super lazy too haha i usually search "supercorp masterpost" or fic recs here or THE ULTIMATE HACK - AO3 filters for "hits/kudos" and "finished works only" when trying to find good stuff because some people are actually super nice and helpful for free, is crazy I love them and I love ao3 filters.
anyways, i'm terrible with names but i search my favorites bar for this so here's my very short list:
Fidelity by hrwinter - Hogwarts AU
take my mask, i'm home now by Melui - The Proposal AU
Giant by coeurastronaute - Canon divergence/high school
is the way i couldn't find the piercing fic I talked about omg I hate myself
And I also recommend you check this post or all of the posts really from the lovely @supercorpbookmarks because most fics I read of supercorp I found it there. Hope this helps!

was thinking of this post (i also have a screenshot of the post at the end) and now i can't stop thinking of a uni!supercorp au set in the fucking philippines like
au is set in 2016. this is very vital to the story
lena's an international student to dlsu manila for a term (i was thinking business rich kid [so dlsu] and not lawyer/politician rich kid [admu]) bc when lillian suggested she join an international exchange program lena decided to choose the country the farthest away from lillian's influence (luthor corp has no hold in most of SEA [minus singapore obvs] and lena chose the philippines mostly because of the slightly less difficult language barrier) and majors in both science and business courses
kara got into up diliman through blood, sweat, and tears. her parents were researchers during the marcos era who were killed during martial law. kara was adopted by the danvers as jeremiah was the zor-els' co-worker and eliza was a traveling doctor. the danvers took kara and alex back to the states (usa) but kara wanted to figure out how and why her parents died and the ph is a great place to get a journalism degree so she studied up on not only the language but ph culture, history, and news as well before transferring to the ph the summer before her third year of high school. alex got a job as a medical consultant in the ph soon after and the two live together in qc (quezon city)
kara and lena meet when lena accidentally finds herself in the middle of a protest march passing through taft (kara started in up manila, not diliman hahaha)
she has no fucking idea what it's about
kara assumes lena's part of the protest and asks if she'd like to borrow one of her signs but then lena's like "what the fuck is happening"
"we're protesting marcos's burial in, uh, the national cemetery for heroes," kara explains and lena still looks so lost and kara feels both bad for the woman and awestruck that someone so beautiful exists. "marcos, like, ferdinand marcos? the country's ex-president that declared martial law, plundered the country in horrible debt, and then was banned from returning?"
lena knows some of those words, she thinks. she'd studied up on philippine history a little bit before she arrived but the textbook she'd read felt incredibly racist if not colonialist, but she's sure she read about a president declaring martial law before, so she nods as if she gets it
the protest keeps marching forward and lena finds that she can't really escape the crowd unless she wants to get crushed, so she sticks closest to kara who's both a friendly (gorgeous) face and also has the closest accent to hers
kara shares with lena more details about why they're marching and helps translate some of the more unfamiliar words of their chants
almost twenty minutes after lena accidentally joined the march, practically drenched in sweat but too moon eyed towards the blonde to care, lena finally asks where they're marching to
"to the cemetery in taguig."
taguig. taguig city. more than two hours away on foot
"oh."
when kara sees lena's face fall, she gently takes lena's wrist and manages to maneuver them to the side of the protest, away from the wave of people. kara asks what's wrong and lena admits that she's already super fucking tired and would never be able to finish the march
kara understands and decides to accompany lena while they wait for a grab ride to arrive. as lena orders her ride, kara texts her activist and journalism friends to let them know that she won't be at the final rally anymore
while they wait, they learn more about each other and find themselves even more smitten than when they first met (sometime during this part, kara also gives lena one of her extra shirts [because she's a seasoned commuting pro and knows to never leave home without an extra shirt and small towel] so lena's just looking super comfy and cute in kara's shirt)
when lena's ride arrives, kara double checks the grab because she's That Kind of person before helping her in
"thanks for waiting with me. it was nice meeting you," lena says and kara smiles, wide and toothy.
"it was nice meeting you, too. ingat!" and kara closes the card door before she remembers to even ask for lena’s number
still, the lack of contact details doesn't deter her. she knows enough about lena that hopefully dropping by dlsu more often would mean being able to see her again
and she does
anyways if this was a short fic I'd def end it around here with kara and lena getting that date but if it were a long fic then i'd 100% make kara investigate and study the ejks (extra judicial killings) during duterte's time and lena learning and falling in love with the ph the way kara has which includes lena learning how to commute (which someday, when she leads l-corp, means that she helps build and fund a better fucking public transport system)
this was suuuuppppeeer fun to even just think about and I can't promise I'll write it but just this idea has me pumped! hope the 3 pinoys who see this enjoy 💕
*edit: here's parts 1.5, 2, 3, and 4
#cw supergirl#supercorp#kara danvers#lena luthor#lmao i know there are more than 3 filipinos who ship supercorp but idk who yall are so#also PLS do not come at me with the uni stereotypes i am trying to balance the characters' personalities with#irl experience and culture AND those stereotypes lmao#also i did go to one of these uni's and there do be Some kinda People there#anyways i think I'll call this the#supercorp ph uni au

hi dee !!! fancy seeing you round these parts
17: What’s something you’ve learned about while doing research for a fic?
i did answer this in birdies ask but i will say another thing i ended up learning alot about was the NYU undergraduate and graduate school of Business for the kate/yelena fic im currently working on that you know about (for anyone curious, i do have a sneak peak to that fic i posted a while back here)
18: What’s one of your favorite lines you’ve written in a fic?
oh god this is so hard. the first one that comes to mind is this line from the game night fic, which for me is like the perfect amount of soft and punchy:
but i also have to spread some love to the "fruit cutting monologue" that i wrote for the final scene in that fic as well:
but of course i cannot mention anything from game night fic without shouting out my lovely friend bench @thebluewritingbench who is truly the most incredible author and the perfect writing partner who brings out the best of my skills and puts worms in my brain, without whom i could have never reached into the itchiest parts of my skull to write lines like this
19: Give us a small teaser from one of your WIPs.
ohhhh i dont know which one to pick !!! I feel like you would like another peak at the kate/yelena au but what I’m ACTUALLY gonna do is tease my next fic after I finish rival chefs hehe
It’s a supercorp high fantasy au, Lena is a princess and Kara and the superfriends are a group of rebel fighters trying to stop Lex from conquering the world !! very high stakes very drama very enemies to lovers
fic writer asks
#asks#thanks dee !!#congrats on spawning the first teaser for my next multichap fic#this was fun !! thanks for the asks#mike writes

The amazing @dkgwrites is not only a terrific writer, but she's also got a knack for encouraging people and bringing them together. We're extremely thankful for her presence and her many contributions to FtF. Today, she joins us to talk about writing and the importance of finding your people.
Tell us a little about yourself. How did you get started writing fic? Have you written for other fandoms? What are your favorite tropes?
a) As a kid, I read a lot and used to create plot outlines for favorite shows that my childhood BFF and I would act out in improvisational skits in one of our basements. As much as I was always drawn to write, I never had any formal training, nothing past high school, and was well aware that my skill level didn't make me commercially publishable. I had given up on ever sharing this part of my creative side when a coworker mentioned she wrote fanfic. I had never heard of it. I went home and googled the word fanfic with my two favorite story subjects (superhero and lesbian) and SuperCorp was the top response. I signed up for AO3, read a few fics, and watched some SuperCorp clips on YT before jumping in with both feet and writing my first fic without having seen an episode of Supergirl yet. That was five years ago, and 1.4 million words (and counting) later, here I am.
b) I've written in other fandoms twice. Once for Black Lightning (ThunderGrace) for the BLDC zine event, and once in the Legends of Tomorrow fandom (Avalance) for a fic trade event. Both times I was rather nervous, wading outside familiar waters, but I think both fics turned out well. I have some unposted WIPs for Wynonna Earp which I was never able to fully explore. Outside that, I've stayed firmly in my lane in the Supergirl fandom with a heavy dose of SuperCorp, a little bit of AgentCorp, a touch of Sanvers, and a single Brania fic. Danvaria will make guest appearances in some of my fics.
c) My top three tropes would be miscommunication (because I am one whole idiot), friends to lovers (thank you SuperCorp), and fake dating, not necessarily in that order. What were your inspirations for this particular story? What was it about this/these ships that grabbed you?
a) This particular fic was a prompt from a reader, probably the first prompt I ever received. It's an au where Lena is the Kryptonian but also a vegetarian, and Kara is the Luthor. I expanded it a bit from there, but it gave me my introduction to aus, and I absolutely adore them. They combine the comfort and ease of familiar characters with the creativity of an original(ish) universe.
b) SuperCorp is the main ship for this fic. I enjoy the way Kara and Lena compliment each other, the play on darkness and light, raw power and intellect, and the whole rather Romeo and Julietesque love despite their warring families. I think this fandom has proven, again and again, how magical these two are together. I feel lucky to have entered fandom at a time to be able to write them. Has the time spent away from your story changed your outlook or approach to any of the storylines or themes? Have you had any new inspirations or breakthroughs/revelations in the meantime?
a) I wouldn't say time away has altered my approach to this particular story, but I have grown and developed a lot as a writer in the past four years. If I were rewriting from scratch (give me the strength not to do so) the story would be more direct, less meandering, and I wouldn't use dialogue as my crutch due to a lack of skill at narrative. I'm not sure how well the first few chapters will marry with the second part, but I hope it makes for an enjoyable, if oddly off balance, final story.
b) I think I have greatly developed as a writer since I started this fic. Do you remember when you were a kid, and your parent would stand you with your back to the wall and mark how tall you were? Each year you could go back and see how tall you've gotten. That is exactly how this fic makes me feel. I look at the old chapters and then the new and think "Look how I've grown." Any advice for new or aspiring fic writers?
I have more advice than I should put in any post, so I'll try to reduce it to a few salient points. Read a lot, and when you do, read as a writer. What lines do you like, and why do they resonate with you? What pulls you out of the story and why? Make note of the things you love and dislike, make lists and reflect on them when you write, and learn from those who have come before you.
Become a beta reader for others. I swear, I have learned more about writing from beta'ing than anything else. As a beta, you are forced to read mindfully, to really dissect the story, and you can't help but carry that mindset over into your own writing. Additionally, the writing community falls apart when we don't have betas, so do your part.
Outline. You may think you don't need to outline. (You probably do.) You may think an outline crimps creativity. (It does not.) Your outline may just be a few lines or a full blown spreadsheet (Excel is much sexier than most give it credit for being) but learning to organize your thoughts, even if you discover whole new paths and veer wildly off script as you write, will help you. Take it from someone who wishes they had known that sooner. Get yourself a writing community and be open to critique. Too often when we say, "What do you think?" about one of our stories, what we really mean is, "Say something nice about this." That's fine. You may only be in the emotional space to receive fully positive feedback, but when you open yourself up to kind but honest critiques, you improve your chances of growing. For me, my writing is like my child, and the last thing I want to hear is anything negative, but sometimes, the thing I need to hear is something negative.
If you don't have a writing community or friends in the fandom, message me. I am absolutely certain I'm not the only person in this fandom who would say the same, but so long as we can be kind and respectful to each other, you have a friend. I may be slow to respond, but my DMs are always open (if for no other reason than I have no idea how to close them).
The best reason to write is because you want to write. That is the beginning and the end of the whole thing, and although there are a lot of reasons you'll find along the way, that is enough. You should write. 5. If you were going to promote this fic with a single line, what would it be? What if Lena was the kind-hearted but often clueless Kryptonian who accidentally found herself dating a Luthor named Kara and then assassination attempts occurred? 6. If you’ve already posted some of your work, please provide a link. I was very young (in writer years) when I wrote this. https://archiveofourown.org/works/17078813/chapters/40161911

🍍🍊🍇 :D
Oooh what an interesting set! Thanks for asking
🍍 What kind of AUs do you like? Are there any AUs you hate or just generally have beef with?
As a reader: I'm always a tiny bit weary of no-powers AUs as well as high school/college AUs. That said, the Supercorp fandom made me like these types of AUs so I'm happy about reading so many great fics.
As a writer, I've only ventured into soft AUs. My stories are usually canon-compliant up to a certain point and then I create my take from there. My favorite type of AU to write is probably crossover.
🍊Who’s a character you don’t write for that often, but keep meaning to write for more? (They’re so interesting! But maybe you have trouble pinning them down, or keep getting distracted by another blorbo…)
Cat Grant. I have trouble pinning down the way she speaks (in a way I could reproduce in my writing)
🍇 Is there a particular scene/episode/book/etc that you want to just write a million fics about, over and over? Which one?
I have two answers for this:
The way Lena finds out/is told Kara's secret identity. Early enough in the show and it's probably a smooth moment between them. A tad too late and you embark for angst.
The rift from Season 5 (of Supergirl). There's so much potential for fixing canon! Especially how Kara and Lena come back to each other

Supercorp body swap au, but not in the way you’d think. Lena has two new interns from National City High, one who’s an annoyingly perky, optimistic Supergirl fan and wants to change the world like her idol, while the other is a cynical emo type and thinks Supergirl is a joke. But when an alien attacks L-Corp, while Lena is showing the interns around and Supergirl shows up to save them the alien causes Kara and Lena to swap bodies with the two interns. Kara with the cynic and Lena with the perky fan. And until they can find the alien to switch them back, Kara has to teach the teen cynic how to be Supergirl and Lena has to do the same with helping the perky fan run L-Corp, all while she and Lena are forced to go back to high school
Interesting.... I can imagine that Lena would definitely get her person's grades up exponentially (where the girl had been struggling before), and will do a month's or so homework ahead of time for her before switching back.
What do you think?

Coffee, Cars & Chemistry
NOTE: This is an AI prompt written Supercorp AU ----I don’t have a Beta, this was written with an AI Chat Bot and 2k words of prompting in about 2 hours, Plan to post to Ao3 after more edits-----
As she waited for her latte in the early hour of the morning, Kara couldn't help but smile as she thought about the day ahead at the garage. She loved the feeling of getting her hands dirty and working with machines. It was a job that allowed her to be creative and use her skills to solve problems. She had an old Chevy waiting for her and it’s new owner is counting on her.
As soon as Kara finished her coffee, she headed to the garage, which she owned and operated under the name "Danvers Diagnostics." She had inherited the garage from her father, who had been a mechanic for as long as Kara could remember. She was determined to carry on the legacy and make the garage even more successful than it already was.
When Kara arrived at the garage, she was greeted by her team of mechanics, who were all hard at work on different cars. She made her way over to the first car on her list, a classic Mustang that had been having issues with its transmission.
Kara put on her coveralls and grabbed her tools, ready to dive into the repair. She loved the feeling of working with her hands and the satisfaction of figuring out and fixing the problem. As she worked, she chatted with her team, sharing stories and jokes as they all worked together to get the cars back on the road. As the day went on, Kara tackled a variety of different repairs, from oil changes to engine replacements. No matter what the issue was, she approached it with determination and a willingness to learn. By the end of the day, she was covered in grease and sweat, but she was also proud of the work she had done and the difference she had made for her customers.
As she took a break for lunch, Kara headed to her favorite coffee shop to grab a quick bite and a much-needed caffeine fix. She was deep in thought, trying to figure out the solution to a particularly stubborn engine issue, when she suddenly collided with someone, sending her coffee flying.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry," Kara exclaimed, as she reached for some napkins to help clean up the mess.
"It's okay, it was my fault," the other person said, apologetically. Kara looked up and saw that it was Lena Luthor, a high school science teacher who was well-respected in the community, despite her families infamy.
"Hey, Lena," Kara said, trying to brush off the incident. "No worries, it's just a little coffee."
"I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention," Lena said, looking flustered. "I'll pay for your coffee and buy you a new one."
"Don't worry about it," Kara said, with a smile. "I'm just glad you're okay."
Despite Kara's reassurances, Lena insisted on buying her a new coffee and the two sat down at a table to chat. As they talked, Lena accidentally spilled coffee on Kara's coveralls, adding to the already-present grease stains.
"I can't believe I'm so clumsy today," Lena said, looking embarrassed.
"It's okay, it's just coffee," Kara said, trying to reassure her. "I've had worse spills on these coveralls."
Despite the mishaps, Kara and Lena had a great time catching up and chatting about their work. They had been friends for years, ever since Kara's adoptive father, Jeremiah, had introduced them. Jeremiah had a side hobby of fixing cars and Kara had always admired Lena's intelligence and dedication to her students. Kara's adoptive mother, Eliza, was a kind and compassionate woman who had always been there for Kara, helping her to navigate the difficult and often confusing path of growing up without her biological parents. Eliza had always encouraged Kara to pursue her passions and to be true to herself, no matter what others might say or think.
Kara's adoptive sister, Alex, was also a constant source of support and love. She was a few years older than Kara and had always looked out for her younger sister, protecting her from the harsh realities of the world and encouraging her to be the best person she could be. Kara and Alex had a close bond, and Kara often confided in Alex about her hopes, dreams, and fears.
As Kara sat there, scrolling through her phone, she couldn't shake the feeling of loneliness that seemed to linger around her. She had been trying to call Lena all day, but the other woman wasn't picking up. Kara couldn't help the feeling of longing that washed over her as she thought about Lena's soft curves and ivory skin, and the way her black hair always looked so sleek and perfect.
Just as Kara was about to give up on the idea of talking to Lena, she saw the other woman walking into the coffee shop. Lena's hair was pulled back into a sleek ponytail, and she wore a tailored suit jacket over a crisp white blouse. Lena was a high school science teacher known for her innovative teaching methods and her love of experiments. She was outgoing and passionate, always eager to share her knowledge with others. Kara's heart skipped a beat as she watched Lena make her way to the counter to place her order, and she couldn't help the flutter of excitement that ran through her as she thought about the possibility of finally being able to talk to Lena.
Kara watched as Lena approached the counter, her heart racing with anticipation. She had always been drawn to Lena, with her sharp mind and quick wit, but she had never mustered up the courage to talk to her. Kara couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated by Lena, with her successful career and confident demeanor. But as Lena stood at the counter, waiting for her drink, Kara knew that she couldn't let this opportunity pass her by.
She stood up and made her way over to Lena, trying to calm her nerves as she approached. "Hi, Lena," Kara said, her voice a bit unsteady. "I couldn't help but notice that you're waiting for your drink. Can I buy it for you as an apology for spilling coffee on you the other day?"
Lena turned to look at Kara, a surprised expression on her face. "Oh, it's you," she said, her voice a mixture of surprise and gratitude. "Thank you for the offer, but it's really not necessary. I'm just glad that you're okay."
Kara felt a wave of disappointment wash over her. She had hoped that Lena might remember her and the embarrassing incident from a few days ago, but it seemed that Lena had already forgotten about it. Kara tried to brush off the rejection and put on a brave face. "Well, I'm still sorry about it," she said, forcing a smile. "And I really do want to buy your drink to make it up to you. Please, let me do this."
Lena hesitated for a moment, but eventually relented. "Okay, thank you," she said, a small smile forming on her lips. "I'll have a black coffee, please."
Kara grinned with relief and placed the order for Lena's coffee. As they waited for their drinks, Kara tried to make small talk with Lena, hoping to learn more about her and maybe even form a connection. But Lena seemed distant and preoccupied, her attention focused on her phone as she scrolled through emails and messages. Kara couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment and frustration, wondering if she would ever be able to break through Lena's walls and get to know her better.
As they waited for their drinks, Kara couldn't help but wonder about Lena's past and what had shaped her into the strong and independent woman she was today. She knew that Lena had lost her mother at a young age and had been left with a workaholic father who had died in a tragic drunk driving accident. Kara couldn't imagine the pain and heartache that Lena must have gone through, losing both of her parents at such a young age.
But Lena had managed to overcome those obstacles and forge a successful career for herself as a high school science teacher. She was known for her innovative teaching methods and her love of experiments, and Kara had always been impressed by Lena's dedication and passion for her work. Despite the challenges she had faced, Lena seemed to be a happy and well-adjusted person, always ready to help others and share her knowledge.
Kara couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for Lena and her strength and resilience. She longed to get to know Lena better and to be a part of her life, but she wasn't sure how to break through Lena's walls and reach her. Kara knew that she had to be patient and wait for the right opportunity, hoping that someday Lena would open up to her and let her in.
"I can't believe this is happening again," Kara said, shaking her head in disbelief. "I can't seem to go a day without spilling coffee on myself around you, Lena."
Lena chuckled, her embarrassment easing a bit. "It's not like you're doing it on purpose," she said, a warm smile spreading across her face. "Accidents happen, and I'm just glad that you're not seriously hurt. Let me buy you a new shirt and pay for your dry cleaning. It's the least I can do to make up for it."
Kara smiled back, touched by Lena's kindness and generosity. She had always been attracted to Lena's intelligence and strength, and now she was starting to see a softer and more caring side of her. Kara couldn't help but feel a sense of hope and excitement at the possibility of building a deeper connection with Lena.
"Thank you, Lena," Kara said, a genuine smile on her face. "I really appreciate your offer. But I don't want you to feel like you have to buy me things all the time. Maybe we could just split the cost of the dry cleaning and call it even?"
Lena considered Kara's suggestion for a moment, then nodded in agreement. "Sure, that sounds fair," she said. "I'm happy to split the cost with you, Kara. And maybe we can find a way to avoid any more coffee spills in the future."
Kara laughed, feeling a sense of relief and joy wash over her. She had been worried that Lena might be annoyed or put off by her clumsy behavior, but it seemed that Lena was willing to overlook it and focus on the positive aspects of their relationship. Kara couldn't wait to spend more time with Lena and get to know her better, hoping that their friendship would grow and flourish in the future.
Kara tried to push the feelings of longing and sadness aside as she went about her day, focusing on her work and her other responsibilities. But she couldn't stop thinking about Lena and the way her eyes had lit up when they talked about science. Kara couldn't help but feel a sense of attraction and admiration for Lena, and she longed to explore the potential of a deeper connection with her.
As the days passed and Kara waited for her chance to see Lena again, she couldn't help but feel a bit nervous and anxious. She had always been something of a tomboy, not really comfortable with flirting and romance. But with Lena, Kara felt a sense of excitement and possibility that she had never experienced before. She hoped that Lena would feel the same way, but she wasn't sure how to gauge her interest or signal her own.
When Kara finally ran into Lena again at the library a few days later, she couldn't help the feeling of hope that swelled inside her. She had been thinking about Lena constantly, wondering if she would ever get the chance to see her again. And now, as they stood face to face, Kara couldn't resist the urge to flirt and tease.
"Hey, Lena," Kara said, a sly smile on her face. "I was just thinking about you and how much I enjoyed our last conversation. I'm glad to see you again."
Lena blushed, a faint smile on her lips. "Hi, Kara," she said, a hint of nervousness in her voice. "I've been thinking about you too. I'm glad to see you again as well."
Kara felt a surge of excitement at Lena's words, and she couldn't resist the temptation to keep flirting. "I'm glad to hear that," Kara said, her voice low and husky. "I've always thought you were really smart and beautiful, Lena. And I can't stop thinking about you."
Lena's blush deepened, and she looked down at the ground, a shy smile on her face. "Kara, I... I don't know what to say," she stammered. "I've always thought you were really cool and kind too. But I'm not sure if I'm ready for anything more than friendship right now."
Kara felt a wave of disappointment wash over her, but she tried not to let it show. She had hoped that Lena might feel the same way about her, but it seemed that Lena needed more time to explore her feelings. Kara knew that she had to be patient and understanding, hoping that someday Lena might be ready for something more.
"I understand, Lena," Kara said, her voice soft and reassuring. "I'm just glad to be your friend, and I'll respect your boundaries. But if you ever want to talk or hang out, I'm always here for you. Okay?"
Lena looked up at Kara, her eyes shining with gratitude and affection. "Okay, Kara," she said, a genuine smile on her face. "I really appreciate your understanding and support. You're a really good friend, and I'm glad to have you in my life."
Kara smiled back, her heart overflowing with joy and hope. She knew that she had to be patient and wait for Lena to be ready, but she couldn't help but feel a sense of optimism and possibility as they walked away together, their friendship strong and unshakable.
As Kara walked home from the library, she couldn't resist the urge to call her adoptive sister, Alex, to tell her about her encounter with Lena. Alex was Kara's closest confidant and had always been there to support and encourage her, no matter what. Kara knew that she could always count on Alex to listen and offer her honest advice, and she was eager to share her thoughts and feelings with her.
"Hey, Alex," Kara said, a smile in her voice. "How's it going?"
"Hey, Kara," Alex replied, a cheerful note in her own voice. "I'm doing pretty well. Just finished up a shift at the Hospital. What's up with you?"
"I just had a really interesting conversation with Lena," Kara said, unable to hide the excitement in her voice. "We talked about science and flirted a little, and I think there might be something more between us. But she's not sure if she's ready for anything more than friendship right now."
Alex was silent for a moment, then spoke in a thoughtful tone. "Kara, I think it's great that you're interested in Lena," she said. "But you have to respect her boundaries and her feelings. If she's not ready for something more, you have to be patient and wait for her. You don't want to push her or make her feel uncomfortable."
Kara nodded, feeling a sense of understanding and clarity wash over her. "You're right, Alex," she said, a grateful note in her voice. "I'll be patient and understanding, and hope that someday Lena might be ready for something more. Thanks for the advice, sis."
And most importantly, remember to take care of yourself. Don't let your feelings for Lena consume you or make you lose sight of your own needs and desires. You deserve happiness and love, Kara, and I hope that Lena can be a part of that for you someday."
"Thanks, Alex," Kara said, feeling a surge of gratitude and love for her sister. "You always know just what to say to make me feel better. I love you."
"I love you too, Kara," Alex replied, a note of affection in her voice. "Take care of yourself, and let me know if you need anything. I'm always here for you."
With a smile on her face and a sense of hope in her heart, Kara hung up the phone and continued on her way home, grateful for the love and support of her family and determined to follow her heart and be true to herself, no matter what.
After their conversation, Lena couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions as she walked home. She was glad to have Kara as a friend, but she couldn't shake the feeling of attraction and longing that she had for her. Lena knew that she needed to take some time to think about her feelings and figure out what she wanted, but it was hard to ignore the pull that Kara had on her heart.
As she walked through the door of her apartment, Lena was greeted by the sound of laughter and the smell of dinner cooking. Her best friend and coworker, Sam Arias, was in the kitchen with her young daughter Ruby, and they both turned to greet Lena with warm smiles.
"Hey, Lena!" Sam said, giving her a hug. "How was your day?"
"It was good," Lena said, trying to sound casual. "I ran into Kara at the library, and we had a nice chat."
Sam raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? And how is Kara doing?"
Lena sighed, feeling a sense of frustration and confusion. "I don't know, Sam," she said. "I think she might have feelings for me, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for anything more than friendship right now. I've just been through so much, and I don't want to rush into anything before I'm ready."
Sam gave Lena a sympathetic look and squeezed her hand. "I understand, Lena," she said. "But don't forget that you deserve happiness and love too. And Kara seems like a really sweet and kind person. Maybe it's worth exploring your feelings and seeing where things go."
Lena nodded, considering Sam's words. "Maybe you're right," she said. "I'll have to think about it more. But for now, let's enjoy dinner and hang out with Ruby. She's been looking forward to spending time with her favorite Aunt Lena all day."
Sam grinned and ruffled Ruby's hair. "That's right, kiddo," she said. "Aunt Lena is the best. And I'm sure she'll figure out what she wants in her own time. We'll be here to support her no matter what."
Lena felt a sense of gratitude and love wash over her as she hugged Sam and Ruby. She knew that she had a supportive and loving group of friends and family who would always be there for her, no matter what choices she made in her love life. And for now, that was more than enough.
As the weeks passed, Kara and Lena's friendship grew stronger and more meaningful. They spent countless hours together, talking about their interests and exploring new things. Kara found herself enjoying Lena's company more and more, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of longing and desire every time they were together.
One of their favorite things to do was have game nights at Kara's house, where they would invite her sister Alex and their friends Nia and Brainy over to play board games and eat pizza. Lena would often bring her friend and coworker Sam along, and the two of them would get along great with the rest of the group. They would drink a lot of beer and laugh until their sides hurt, and Kara couldn't help but feel a sense of joy and happiness every time they were together.
In addition to game nights, Kara and Lena also enjoyed going on long walks, exploring the city and chatting about everything under the sun. They would often stop at different cafes and coffee shops along the way, enjoying each other's company and the sense of companionship that came with it.
One of their favorite outings was to the science fair at the local high school, where they spent hours talking to the students about their projects and learning about new technologies. Kara and Lena were both passionate about science, and they loved being able to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
This coming Saturday Kara had planned another memorable outing to the classic car show. Kara was an avid car enthusiast, and she was excited to teach Lena about the different models and their histories. Kara arrived at Lena's house early in the morning, ready to pick her up and head to the car show. She had always loved classic cars and was excited to share her passion with Lena.
As Lena walked out of her house, Kara honked the horn of her old car, which she affectionately referred to as her "baby." The car was a beautiful shade of blue, with a shiny chrome grill and white wall tires. It was a bit battered and bruised from years of use, but Kara had lovingly restored it to its former glory and it ran like a dream.
"Hey, Kara," Lena said, as she climbed into the passenger seat. "Your car looks great."
"Thanks," Kara said, with a smile. "I've had it for years and it's been through a lot with me. I love it."
As they drove to the car show, Kara couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She loved the feeling of the wind in her hair and the hum of the engine as they cruised down the road. She knew that Lena was a bit of a city girl and wasn't used to older cars, but Kara was determined to show her just how much fun the car and even time with Kara could be. Kara and Lena arrived at the classic car show early in the morning, excited to spend the day together exploring all of the vintage vehicles on display. The sun was shining and the weather was perfect for a day outdoors.
As they walked around the show, Kara couldn't help but get excited as she pointed out different cars to Lena. There were classic muscle cars with shiny chrome finishes, vintage convertibles with sleek lines, and even a few old pickup trucks that had been restored to their former glory. Kara was particularly drawn to a stunning 1960s Corvette, with its sleek black exterior and shiny chrome details.
"Look at this one, Lena," Kara said, as they stopped in front of the Corvette. "I've always dreamed of driving one of these."
"It's gorgeous," Lena said, admiring the car. "I can't believe how well-preserved it is."
As they continued walking around, Kara and Lena stopped to chat with some of the owners of the cars, learning about the history and restoration process of each vehicle. Kara was in her element, sharing her love of cars with Lena and soaking up all of the knowledge being shared by the car enthusiasts.
As they were walking around, Kara suddenly saw her friend James (Jimmy) Olsen walking towards them. Jimmy was a photographer and a car enthusiast, and Kara was happy to see him at the show.
"Hey, Kara, Lena," Jimmy said, with a smile. "Great to see you both here."
"Hey, Jimmy," Kara said, with a smile. "We were just looking at all of the amazing cars."
"Yeah, this show is always such a treat," Jimmy said, as he turned to Lena. "And it's always even better when I get to see a beautiful woman like you here, Lena."
Kara couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy as she saw Jimmy flirting with Lena. Despite her feelings, she managed to stay polite and friendly as they chatted with Jimmy for a few more minutes before saying goodbye.
As they walked away, Kara couldn't help but feel a little bit bothered by Jimmy's flirting. She knew that Lena was a grown woman who could handle herself, but Kara couldn't help but feel protective of her friend. Despite her own mixed emotions, Kara noticed that Lena seemed a bit uncomfortable with Jimmy's flirting too. She reached out and took Lena's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. Lena squeezed back, grateful for the support.
"Is everything okay?" Kara asked, noticing Lena's discomfort.
"Yeah, I just wasn't really in the mood for Jimmy." Lena said, with a sigh.
"I understand," Kara said, giving Lena a sympathetic look. "He can be a bit much at times."
Kara wrapped her arm around Lena's shoulders, giving her a hug and a reassuring squeeze. She caught Jimmy's eye and gave him a stern look, hoping that he would get the hint and leave Lena alone.
"Thanks, Kara," Lena said, with a grateful smile. "I appreciate your support."
"Anytime, Lena," Kara said, with a smile. "I'm always here for you."
Despite the joy and happiness that Kara and Lena shared, Kara couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing. She knew that she had strong feelings for Lena, and she couldn't ignore the way her heart skipped a beat every time they were together. But she also knew that Lena wasn't ready for anything more than friendship, and Kara wasn't sure if she could keep hiding her feelings for much longer.
But as she walked home with Lena by her side, Kara couldn't shake the feeling that maybe, just maybe, things between her and Lena would change. She couldn't predict the future, but she hoped that one day, they would be able to explore their feelings for each other and see where things went. Until then, Kara would have to be content with their friendship, and hope that someday, Lena would see her as more than just a friend.
As the days passed, Kara tried to focus on their friendship and push her feelings for Lena to the back of her mind. She spent long hours with Lena, enjoying each other's company and learning more about each other. Lena told Kara about her love of art and her dream of opening her own gallery, and Kara shared her own passion for writing and her desire to become a published author.
But despite their close bond, the two women were often apart. Lena had classes and work to attend to as a science teacher, and Kara had her own responsibilities and commitments as a mechanic. As they went about their separate days, each of them couldn't help but think about the other, longing for the moments when they could be together again.
Finally, after months of waiting and hoping, Lena asked Kara out on a date. Kara was overjoyed, feeling like all of her dreams were coming true. The date was everything she could have hoped for and more – they walked through the park, holding hands and laughing as they talked about their lives and their dreams.
As the night went on, Kara felt a strong connection with Lena, and she knew without a doubt that this was the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. When Lena leaned in for a kiss at the end of the night, Kara's heart skipped a beat, and she knew that this was the moment she had been waiting for.
As their lips met, Kara felt a sense of pure happiness and contentment wash over her. She knew that this was the person she had been searching for all her life, and she couldn't wait to see where their relationship would take them.
As they walked back to Lena's apartment, their hands entwined, Kara couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. She knew that this was a big step in their relationship, and she wasn't sure what the future held. But as they reached Lena's front door, she knew that she was ready for whatever came next.
Lena invited Kara inside, and the two women spent the rest of the night cuddled up on the couch, talking and laughing until the early hours of the morning. They talked about everything and anything, their passions and hopes, their fears and doubts. And as they fell asleep in each other's arms, Kara knew that she had finally found her happily ever after.
The next morning, Kara woke up to the sound of Lena's alarm clock, a smile on her face. She couldn't believe that this was really happening, that she had finally found someone who loved and understood her. As she rolled over and kissed Lena on the cheek, Kara knew that this was the start of something special.
As the morning went on, Kara and Lena talked about everything under the sun, from their hopes and dreams to their fears and insecurities. They laughed and talked until the early hours of the morning, and when it was time to say goodbye and go to work, Kara couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness at the thought of being apart from Lena again.
Kara picked up her phone a smile on her face, thinking about the amazing night she had shared with Lena. She couldn't wait to see her again, and as she got ready for work, she couldn't resist the urge to call her sister Alex and tell her all about the date.
"Oh my gosh, Kara," Alex said, her voice full of excitement. "I can't believe you finally went out with Lena! How did it go?"
"It was amazing, Alex," Kara gushed, a huge grin on her face. "We had so much fun, and I just know that Lena is the one for me. I can't wait to see her again."
Meanwhile, Lena was having a similar conversation with her friend Sam Arias. "Sam, you won't believe what happened last night," Lena said, a hint of excitement in her voice. "I finally went out on a date with Kara, and it was just... perfect. I can't wait to see her again."
As the two women shared their news with their friends and loved ones, they couldn't help but feel a sense of joy and hope for the future. They knew that they had found something special in each other, and they were determined to make the most of it. And as they went about their days, they couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.
For their second date Kara and Lena decided to go to an Italian restaurant in Midvale. The restaurant, called "Il Ristorante," was located in the heart of the city, just a few blocks from the park. It was a cozy, intimate spot, with white tablecloths and candlelit tables, and the smell of garlic and herbs wafting through the air.
As they waited for their table, Kara couldn't help but feel a nervous excitement bubble up inside her. She had always been something of a tomboy, not really comfortable with flirting and romance. But with Lena, Kara felt a sense of possibility and excitement that she had never experienced before. She hoped that Lena would feel the same way, but she wasn't sure how to gauge her interest or signal her own.
When they were finally seated, Kara and Lena perused the menu, chatting about their favorite dishes. Lena ordered the spaghetti carbonara, while Kara opted for the rigatoni alla vodka. They also ordered a bottle of red wine to share, and Kara couldn't help but feel a sense of nervous anticipation as they waited for their food.
As they ate, Kara and Lena talked about everything and anything, from their hobbies and interests to their families and careers. Lena told Kara about her love of art and her dream of opening her own gallery, and Kara shared her own passion for writing and her desire to become a published author. They laughed and talked, each of them feeling a strong connection to the other.
The following morning, Kara couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness and contentment wash over her as she woke up in Lena's arms. She couldn't believe that she had finally found someone who loved and accepted her for who she was, and she knew that she had found her forever person.
As they lay in bed, talking and laughing about their future, Kara knew that she had to share the news with her sister, Alex. She dialed her number, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation wash over her as she waited for her to answer.
"Hey, Kara!" Alex answered, a happy note in her voice. "How's it going?"
"It's going great, sis," Kara said, a huge smile on her face. "I just wanted to let you know that Lena and I are officially dating."
"What?" Alex exclaimed, a note of surprise in her voice. "That's amazing, Kara! I'm so happy for you."
"Thanks, sis," Kara said, feeling a wave of gratitude wash over her. "I'm just so happy and excited to see where things go with Lena."
"I'm happy for you too, Kara," Alex said, her voice soft and warm. "I know how much you've wanted to find someone who loves and accepts you for who you are, and I'm glad that you've found that in Lena. I can't wait to meet her and see you both happy together."
Kara smiled, feeling a sense of happiness and contentment wash over her. She knew that she had found her happily ever after with Lena,

As their lips met, Kara felt a sense of pure happiness and contentment wash over her. She knew that this was the person she had been searching for all her life, and she couldn't wait to see where their relationship would take them.
The next morning, Kara couldn't stop smiling as she got ready for work. She couldn't wait to tell her sister, Alex, all about her date with Lena. She dialed her sister's number, feeling giddy with excitement.
"Hey, sis," Kara said, grinning from ear to ear. "Guess what?"
"What?" Alex asked, her voice laced with curiosity.
"I had the best date ever with Lena last night," Kara said, unable to contain her excitement. "We went to this little Italian restaurant in the city, and we talked and laughed for hours. It was perfect."
"That's great, Kara," Alex said, a happy note in her voice. "I'm so happy for you. Lena sounds like a great person."
"She is," Kara said, a dreamy note in her voice. "I can't wait to see where things go with her. I have a good feeling about this."
As Kara hung up the phone, she felt a sense of hope and possibility wash over her. She knew that she had found something special with Lena, and she couldn't wait to see where their relationship would take them.
On the other side of town, Lena was having a similar conversation with her friend and coworker, Sam Arias. She
—
Lena had been wanting to cook dinner for Kara for weeks, and she finally found the perfect opportunity when Kara had a free evening. She spent the entire day preparing for the date, scouring through cookbooks and grocery shopping for the freshest ingredients. Lena was determined to make the evening special for Kara, and she wanted everything to be perfect.
As the evening approached, Lena set the table with her finest china and lit candles to set the mood. She put on some soft music and poured glasses of red wine for them to enjoy. Lena was a little nervous, but she was excited to share her cooking skills with Kara and to show her how much she cared.
When Kara arrived at Lena's apartment, she was greeted by the smell of delicious cooking and the sound of laughter and music. Lena cooked a delicious Italian feast for Kara, using recipes that she had learned while studying abroad in Italy during her college years. The apartment was filled with the aroma of garlic, basil, and tomato sauce as Lena expertly tossed pasta in a pan of sizzling olive oil.
Kara sat at the kitchen counter, watching Lena with fascination and admiration. She had never met anyone who could cook like Lena, and she couldn't wait to taste the delicious meal that Lena had prepared for her. Lena crafted a feast of Italian dishes – pasta carbonara, chicken marsala, and tiramisu for dessert.
As they sat down to eat, Lena told Kara about her time in Italy, the stunning landscapes and historic cities that she had explored, and the amazing food that she had tasted. Kara listened with fascination, entranced by Lena's stories and her love for all things Italian.
Kara sat across from Lena, her eyes sparkling with excitement and appreciation. "Lena, this looks amazing," she said, taking in the spread of antipasti, pasta, and tiramisu that Lena had prepared.
Lena beamed with pride. "I'm so glad you like it," she said. "I wanted to do something special for us tonight."
As they sat down to eat, Lena and Kara talked about their day, sharing stories and laughter over the delicious food. The conversation flowed easily, as it always did between them, and Lena couldn't help but feel grateful to have Kara in her life.
After they finished their meal, Lena cleared the table and brought out a bottle of red wine that she had been saving for a special occasion. She poured them each a glass and raised hers in a toast.
"To us!" Lena said, looking into Kara's eyes. "To the adventure we're about to embark on, and to the love and happiness that we share." Kara and smiled, clinking Lena’s glass before taking a sip of wine.
The meal was a perfect blend of comfort and sophistication, and as they laughed and talked, Kara felt a sense of connection and intimacy with Lena that she had never experienced before. She knew without a doubt that this was the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, and she couldn't wait to see where their relationship would take them.
Kara couldn't help but be impressed by Lena's culinary skills, and she couldn't wait to dig in. They sat down at the table, laughing and talking as they enjoyed the delicious meal. Lena told Kara about her love of cooking and her dream of opening her own restaurant, and Kara shared her own passion for writing and her desire to become a published author.
As the night went on, Kara felt a strong connection with Lena, and she knew without a doubt that this was the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. When Lena reached out to take her hand, Kara's heart skipped a beat, and she knew that this was the moment she had been waiting for. From that moment on, Lena and Kara were inseparable, sharing laughter and love as they enjoyed each other's company and the delicious meal.
As the date came to an end, Kara went to leave but Lena stopped her. They were both feeling a sense of happiness and contentment. "That was amazing," Kara said, a broad smile on her face. "I had such a great time tonight Lena. Thank you for having me."
"I had a great time too, Lena," Kara replied, her own smile matching Lena's. "I'm so glad that we finally went on a date. It was everything I could have hoped for and more."
"I'm glad too, I was hoping you’d stay the night?" Lena said, her eyes sparkling with hope. "I've had feelings for you for a long time, Kara. I was just too afraid to say anything before. But now that we're together, I can't wait to see where this relationship takes us."
"Me too, Lena," Kara said awkwardly, her heart overflowing with love and happiness. "I've had feelings for you too, and I can't wait to see where our relationship goes. I love you, Lena."
"I love you too, Kara," Lena said, leaning in for another kiss.
As they kissed, Kara knew that she had finally found her everything. She had waited so long for this moment, and now that it was here, she couldn't wait to see what the future held for her and Lena.
The next morning, Kara woke up with a smile on her face, feeling like she was on top of the world. She couldn't wait to share the news with her sister Alex, so she called her as soon as she woke up. "Alex, you'll never guess what happened!" Kara exclaimed. "I went on a date with Lena last night and it was amazing! We talked about everything and we kissed and it was just perfect. I think I'm in love, Alex!"
"Oh my gosh, Kara, that's amazing!" Alex replied, her own excitement clear in her voice. "I'm so happy for you, sis. I always knew that Lena was the one for you. I can't wait to meet her and celebrate with you guys. This is such great news!"
Kara grinned, feeling a sense of gratitude and joy wash over her. "Thanks, Alex. I'm so happy too. I can't wait to introduce you to Lena and share our news with everyone. This is the best day ever!"
On the other side of the apartment, Lena was having a similar conversation with her friend and coworker Sam Arias. "Sam, you'll never guess what happened!" Lena exclaimed. "I went on a date with Kara lastnight, and it was amazing!"
"Oh my gosh, Lena!" Sam exclaimed. "That's so exciting! How was it?"
Lena couldn't help but blush at the memory. "It was incredible," she said, a dreamy look in her eyes. "We had dinner at my apartment, it was so intimate. She said my food was delicious and we had such a great time talking and getting to know each other better. When we kissed at the end of the night, it was like fireworks. So I asked her to spend the night. I just knew that this was the person I wanted to be with."
Sam gasped in excitement. "Lena, that sounds so beautiful! I'm so happy for you. But what about your reservations about being in a relationship right now?"
Lena shrugged. "I don't know, Sam," she admitted. "I was worried that I wasn't ready for a relationship, but with Kara, it just feels right. I think I'm ready to take a chance and see where things go. And I'm so glad I did – I've never felt this happy and alive before."
Sam smiled and squeezed Lena's hand. "I'm so happy for you, Lena," she said. "I know you'll make this work. And if you ever need any advice or support, you know I'm always here for you."
Lena smiled back, feeling grateful and loved. She knew that she had a long road ahead, but with Kara by her side, she felt ready to take on anything. And as they said goodbye and hung up the phone, Lena couldn't help but feel a sense of hope and possibility for the future.
From that moment on, Lena and Kara were inseparable. They supported and encouraged each other, always pushing each other to be the best versions of themselves. And as they stood together, watching the sun set over the city, Kara knew that she had found her soulmate – the person who understood and loved her for who she was.

Supercorp sk8er boi AU where Kara was the punk and Lena did ballet.
Many thanks to the lovely and amazing and solid friend @rosewilliams1736 for (a) prompting this and (b) ensuring that I loop the early 2000s glory that is the music video on repeat for… quite a while. My depression was Crushing, but now it is Cured. Much love to you bby.
Lena Luthor prided herself on her ability to focus, despite any distractions. Emotional distractions especially. And the ballet studio – she was always grateful that Lillian found ballet to be useful rather than scornful – was her sanctum sanctorum. In the studio, nothing and no one could touch her.
It was only her own breath, her own body, her own music (either that she played out loud, or that she created in her head).
Until the day an amp screeched outside the floor-to-ceiling windows from the street below.
Irritated more than alarmed – the studio Lillian paid so much for was in a bustling but generally quiet and calm part of the city (‘refined,’ Lillian would say) – Lena shifted her movements mid-stretch and headed to the window to see what the fuss was about.
Her studio wasn’t that high up – on the second floor – so she could clearly see the girl causing all the commotion.
Electric guitar in her hand, blue and white snapback on her head (backwards, of course), green t-shirt and was that? – yes, yes of course it was – a red and black tie around her neck, Lena was only surprised for a moment that the cause of all that noise was a blonde teenager who didn’t look any older than she was.
She wasn’t sure how the girl – Lillian would definitely call her a punk – had hooked up the electricity to power her amp, but she could tell it definitely wasn’t because the girl had a permit.
Still, there was a crowd forming, a large one, as the girl, the punk, climbed effortlessly up onto the hood of a parked car and started playing.
It was the girl’s effortlessness, more than anything, that made Lena stop and really stare. Because the studded wrist cuffs on her arms might complete her punk aesthetic, but the girl still somehow had every ounce of grace and agility that Lena had long been taught to admire.
And oh. Oh no. She was admiring it too, too much.
She gasped, soft and low, and gulped, awkward and loud. At least she was alone in her studio and no one could hear her muted gay panic.
But then the girl turned, and she looked up. Right up. Directly at Lena’s studio windows. Directly at Lena. Like she’d heard her, somehow, over the sound of her own music and the sound of the crowd she’s attracted and the sound, even, of her own heartbeat.
Lena gasped again, but there was nothing soft about it this time.
And the girl – “I’m Kara,” she shouted into a microphone that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere, passed to her by a boy in distinctly non-punk clothes, donning instead a striped button-down and conservative tie – kept her face turned up toward Lena.
And she winked.
Lena’s throat was too dry to gulp again.
Kara. Kara was the girl’s name, Lena thought wondrously as the impromptu crowd roared their appreciation.
And as Kara started to sing, Lena started to dance. Lillian always frowned on improvisation, preferring instead the stern, practiced movements that teacher after teacher had instilled in her.
But Lillian wasn’t there. Lillian wasn’t watching her.
Kara was.
Watching through her studio’s window as she played, as she moved so jaggedly along with her own music that Lena wondered how the snapback stayed on her head.
She let all of the raw energy from Kara’s guitar, from her voice, from her crowd, slip into her movements.
And she smiled when Kara riffed in approval.
She wasn’t sure when Kara’s impromptu concert would finish – probably when scandalized residents and business owners called the cops – but she wanted to be waiting backstage when it did.

What a Heavenly Way to Die: Chapter One.
“Kara,” Winn says softly.
“Hm?”
“Lena’s last name is Luthor.”
Kara slows to a stop sign and feels the tension build in the truck as Winn anticipates a reaction.
She doesn’t give him one.
“So?” She looks ahead at the intersection. Focusing on pushing in the clutch and shifting through the gears when it’s her turn to go.
“I just… I wasn’t sure if you knew. And thought maybe it’d be something you’d noticeably react to – once you found out. And, well, what if you found out from Lena and reacted in front of her? So I–”
“Why should I care if her last name is Luthor?” Kara cuts him off.
“Kara–”
“Lionel didn’t even get charged. The evidence was circumstantial at best,” Kara dismisses as she takes a corner just a tad too fast.
“Kara, her dad was the main suspect in your entire family’s murder.”
