“「Motor Synth」は、世界で初めて“電気機械方式”を採用したデスクトップ・シンセサイザー。光学式ディスクを小型の直流モーターで高速回転させ、ディスクに印刷された波形を赤外線フォトセンサーで読み取ることで音を生成するという、大変ユニークなシンセサイザーです。光学式ディスクには3種類の波形（三角波／鋸波／矩形波）が印刷され、モーターの回転速度を変えることでピッチを制御。原理的にはウェーブテーブル・オシレーター、構造的にはメロトロンの光学式ディスク・バージョンであるオプティガンに近いと言えるでしょう。モーターと光学式ディスクは8組搭載され、4音ポリ×2ボイス（2レイヤー）のシンセサイザーとして機能する設計になっています。”
