A Busy Week in Women's Boxing!
Was looking at the schedule for this week and there is so much happening in women's boxing so going to lay it all out in one convenient place.
Over on Boxxer and Peacock we have Collision Course. In the main event, the IBF and WBC welterweight championships will be on the line, as champions Natasha Jonas and Ivana Habazin face off. Jonas is a former standout GB amateur that has found huge success in the pros. She's a two weight world champion. She's recently got a win over fellow multi division champion Mikaela Mayer. At 40 years old, she's made a good career for herself. Habazin is a Croatian boxer that is probably known best for being the loser in high profile match ups - Shields, Harper, Braekhus, Lauren, etc. But she is a two time world champion, having recently won a world title after having a ten year title drought.
In the co-main, Olympic gold medalist Lauren Price gets a mandatory fight out the way. She is coming off the biggest win of her pro career, a dominant win over former undisputed welterweight champion Jessica McCaskill for the WBA title. She'll take on Colombian Bexcy Mateus. Card is on Saturday (Dec. 14) on Peacock for those in the US. On SkySports for those in the UK.
Over on DAZN, Golden Boy Promotions has a card going down on Saturday (Dec. 14) as well. On the undercard we will get to see the return of former Olympic bronze medalist and former united flyweight champion Marlen Esparza. Esparza is coming off a big loss, where she lost her title on the scale, and then proceeded to lose on the cards. She is now moving up to super flyweight (115lbs). She'll take on fellow former flyweight champion Arely Mucino. Mucino is a long time veteran of the pro scene as well as a 4x world champion. She turned pro back in 2008 and has been competing at the highest levels of the sport since 2010. It's a good crossroads fight between two 35 year old boxers that are looking for one last run at world championships.
Another former Olympian! Brazilian Beatriz Ferreira is back from her stint at the 2024 Olympic games. A silver medalist at the 2020 Olympics, she added a bronze medal to her cabinet this year. But she's also the IBW lightweight champion. It's a division that has suddenly filled up with interesting fighters - Caroline Dubois, Bo Mi Re Shin, Terri Harper, Imane Khelif, etc. So there are fights for someone like Beatriz to chase. But first, she'll have to get through Frenchwoman Licia Boudersa. Boudersa is one of those French fighters that has fought their whole career in France against meh opposition, so they have an impressive looking record just from staying active.
We have a rematch this week. The last time Esneidy Rodriguez and Sana Hazuki, there was some wonkiness with the scoring so they're running it again. Rodriguez is an undefeated Mexican fighter on the come up. Sana Hazuki is a Japanese journeywoman. She's fought for a couple of world titles and come up short. Her record looks bad (12-9) but that's part fighting in a division with a small pool of fighters and part constantly fighting world champions (Yokasta Valle, Nanae Suzuki, Mika Iwakawa, Eri Matsuda). A true youth vs experience style match up.
ANOTHER former Olympian! This time from Canada. 2020+2024 Olympian and former amateur world champion Tamm Thibeault will make her pro debut on Friday over on DAZN. Didn't even realize the Canadian had signed with MVP (Jake Paul's outfit) or was planning on going pro. Only 27 years old and in a division as shallow as middleweight, she's got the potential to go far. First she has to deal with journeywoman Natasha Spence.
Last we have a couple fights going down in Australia.
Kaye Scott is a 40 year old who is a pioneer of the sport in Australia. She was part of the first ever sanctioned women's fight in the country. She represented the country on the amateur scene for years, taking home silver medals up at light heavyweight in 2016 and 2023 at the world championships. She recently made her move pro in November 2023 and quickly rattled off 4 wins. Now she's getting a title shot. It's a rematch with Desley Robinson, a woman she beat earlier this year. Robinson is a known entity, having fought Lani Daniels for the LHW title as well.
Do you remember John Wayne Parr? Legend of Australian muay thai? Well his daughter, Jazzy Parr, is also a fighter. And a pretty good one at that. While she's done quite a bit of kickboxing and muay thai, she seems to have settled on boxing as her primary sport. At least for now. The 21 year old has run up a 6-0 record in the sport and looks poised to make a run at a world title at bantamweight. She is set to face her most experienced opponent to date, former world champion Shannon O'Connell.
There is more but I fear this might run long. But if you're even a tiny bit interested in any of these fights, I implore you to seek them out. It's a good week to start getting into women's boxing as there's a lot going on globally and a lot of it will be available on streaming or TV depending on where you live.

CHAVTF - Dan and Dick
Richard was excited to see his son Daniel's new apartment. Daniel had moved out of his home in Mayfair a few weeks ago. For his work, the Eastend was better located. And Mayfair was indeed nothing for young people by now. Richard himself was considering moving away. He was now retired, and his wife had been dead for over a year. Perhaps a change of scenery would not be wrong.
The inspection of the new apartment did not take long. Small, functional. And still full of moving boxes. So Daniel suggested going to dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. Richard agreed. He was starting to get hungry. They had been walking for a few minutes when, completely unexpectedly, a heavy downpour came down. Although they quickly took cover under a tree, they were soaked to the bone. And then a huge amount of bird droppings slapped down on them. Their clothes were ruined.
Richard laughed. "It's all no drama. There's another store up ahead, we can get a dry and clean jacket there." Daniel hesitantly countered that this wasn't Savile Row, but Richard said they'd find something appropriate for dinner in the East End. They entered CHAVTF. A small store, crowded and not very clear. At the cash register at the entrance sat a young man with a shaved head, playing with his cell phone. When he saw Richard and Daniel, he began to grin. And a large wet spot formed in his crotch from the precum. "Oi mates, you looking for something dry? There are two changing rooms up ahead, strip down and I'll bring you something." Richard and Daniel found the approach a bit odd, but followed the request. The locker rooms smelled musty, the floor wasn't particularly clean, and strangest of all was the large hole in the partitions at belt height.
"You lads prefer boxers with those big dicks of yours, don't you?" " You bet your ass I do," Daniel replied. "Here you go. Aren't really Calvin Klein, but good quality." Richard pulled on the shorts. He massaged his cock. Felt really massive. "And here are socks. Size 12 should fit." The two put on the white athletic socks. They immediately got dirty on the greasy floor. "Tell me mates! Are you guys brothers? You look a bit alike." "Fuck, yeah," Daniel replied. "Here are some jeans. See if you like them. And who's the older of you?" Richard pulled up his pants. He'd never worn ripped jeans before. But they felt great. And they sat so low on his hips that you could still read the Calvin Klein lettering super. That's how he'd imagined it. "The older one is me, mate," Richard said. "But only three months. We're half-brothers. Dad screwed anything that couldn't run away fast enough." Dan replied that Richard's mother, however, had also been a whore who had let everyone have it. "You got it, bro! Your mom's not a whore, of course. And where did all your brothers and sisters come from?" replied Dick.
"Here's two cool pairs of shoes. Let's take a look, mates," the store attendant said, pulling the curtains aside. Dan and Dick grinned and posted for fun. "Wow, your training is paying off, Mates! You both box welterweight?" "Nah," Dick said. "I'm a lightweight. But I'm working on it. The goal is middleweight already." "You guys are probably going out clubbing today. T-shirts for clubbing?" Dan said they were going to get drinks at the gas station first. And then maybe to the pub. But T-shirt is fine." The store attendant tossed them two black T-shirts. Dan and Dick put them on and took out their chains. They were quiet for everyone to see. "Why aren't you both inked, anyway? Your tattoos are really coming along!" Dick stroked his neck and arm. Yes, he was really proud of them, but they had cost a lot of money. And Dan just had to save up a little bit of money, then he would surely get a tattoo.
Fortunately, they had collected a lot of money today. The two fine toffs Dan and Dick had stolen the coats from had been carrying a lot of cash. "Mates, the jackets really go with your outfit. Can't nobody tell they're not Moncler." The two put the jackets on. The pal was right. They looked awesome! "Mates, did you want to earn a £100 discount on the clothes. If one of you blows the other in the booth through the glory hole and I can use the video on Tiktok, everything together will only cost 50 pounds. Dick tossed a swiped credit card to the store attendant. "We'll pay by card, but we'll do it for 100 pounds cash."
Once the two were back outside, Dick had to light a fag. Dan still had the taste of Dick's cum in his mouth and declined, grinning. "Not until after the next beer. Your spunk tastes like shit." "And yours tastes like piss!"

💥🥊BIG CHANGES COMING TO BOXERBUN’S FIGHT CLUB‼️
I’m introducing a new concept for the club :) the illustration portion will now become ☆trading cards☆ I’m a big fan of TCG/CCG designs and have incorporated them into my art in numerous occasions (the Pokémon trainer card prints, my business cards, etc) and I thought it would be cool to do it for patreon!
I’ve got concepts of the design for the card with the monthly theme names and number in the series! Cards come in 4 types: Fighter, Spell, Trap, and Health cards that would depend on the chosen theme each month! The cards will all be vertical, 4x6” with rounded corners.
Also important!!! I’m switching the Welterweight and Heavyweight rewards!! Heavyweight Boxers will still receive both the sticker and TCG print! Welterweight Boxers will receive the TCG print only! I’ll be increasing the number of Welterweight Boxer spots as well!
I’ll also be either adding a commission tier to my patreon or adding commission listings to the shop section of my patreon (gotta test it out lol)! I don’t offer personal commissions regularly and I figured it be easier for me to offer them if I set it up on here instead. I’ll be adding this after I finish the current batch of Holiday commissions I received.
Lastly I will be discontinuing the monthly patreon tutorial part of the Featherweight tier. I won’t be deleting any of the old posts, instead for that tier I’ll be sharing the monthly art as a hi-res file for printing and will format it to be downloaded as a phone wallpaper. If I have a technique I wanna show or an artist tip I want to share, I’ll still post it but it will be more occasional. I think I’ll post a poll or ask for things you guys would like me to cover art-wise.
Super grateful to everyone and as always, thank you for your continued support!

While information on Walmsley is limited, Bissonnette says he has absolutely no history fighting against women in Canadian tournaments, suggesting his identification into women’s sport was recent" Officials would have allowed a woman to go into a match without any hint that she was up against a male if her coach didn't tell her ONE HOUR before the match
By Anna Slatz November 15, 2023
A female boxer withdrew from a provincial championship in Quebec after learning that her opponent was biologically male, leading to him winning the competition by default. Dr. Katia Bissonnette of Saguenay says she was matched against transgender fighter Mya Walmsley with no notice.
The 2023 Provincial Golden Glove Championship took place on October 27 and 29 in Victoriaville, Quebec, hosted by the Quebec Boxing Federation in collaboration with the KO-96 boxing club. But the tournament, which intended to give novices the opportunity to qualify for the Canadian Championship in December, attracted controversy after Bisonnette announced her withdrawal.
Speaking to Reduxx, Bissonnette, who works as a psychologist in Jonquière, explains that she learned Walmsley was male one hour before she was set to step in the ring.
“I came down from my hotel room to head towards the room where all the boxers were warming up. My coach suddenly took me aside and told me he received information by text message, which he had then validated, that my opponent was not a woman by birth. We did not have any other additional information,” she says.
While information on Walmsley is limited, Bissonnette says he has absolutely no history fighting against women in Canadian tournaments, suggesting his identification into women’s sport was recent. Walmsley is originally from Australia, but moved to Canada around 2 years ago to attend Concordia University.
“[Walmsley] would have boxed as a man in Australia,” Bissonnette says. “In Quebec, on his file, it is mentioned that he had 0 fights as a woman.”
Since moving to Canada, Walmsley has been involved in political activism at the University-level as a Master’s student and teaching assistant in the philosophy department. Recent interviews with Walmsley show he has an overtly masculine appearance.
youtube
Following Bissonnette’s withdrawal, Walmsley issued a statement to the press accusing her of “outing” him and warning that similar actions would have a negative impact on female athletes.
“Rather than turning to me, my coach or the Quebec Olympic Boxing Federation for more information, she decided to turn directly to the media to out me,” wrote Walmsley. “This kind of behavior puts athletes at risk of being excluded or receiving personal attacks based on hearsay … I am afraid that this type of accusation could eventually be used to delegitimize athletes in the women’s category, and justify arbitrary and invasive regulations.”
Walmsley went on to assert that the best policy for gender self-identification in sport was for athletes to “trust” each other, and defer to coaches and policies in assumption that matches were made fairly.
But Bissonnette rejects Walmsley’s apparent call for handshake-based policies, noting that even under established guidelines it was unclear how he had been allowed to enter the match.
“The rule issued from Boxing Canada to the Quebec Boxing Federation was not to reveal that the opponent was transsexual, so that the latter would not be discriminated against. However, after confirmation, this policy only applies when a sex change has taken place before puberty,” she explains, noting that because Walmsley is a foreign national, his transition history is entirely unclear.
Following Bissonnette’s withdrawal, the competition was unable to find another woman in the super welterweight category (165lbs) to match against Walmsley, and he won by default.
The Quebec Boxing Federation was reportedly aware of Walmsley’s biological sex, but justified the fight by stating they had chosen an appropriate referee for the match. Ultimately, Bissonnette says her decision to withdraw came down to safety.
“According to a study, a male blow has 163% more impact than a women’s, even adjusted for weight,” she says, referring to a 2020 study on strength published by researchers at the University of Utah. “In the group studied, the weakest man remains physically superior to the strongest woman.”
Bissonnette goes on to note that women’s participation in combat sports is relatively recent, but may not last much longer if females are continuously paired up to fight males.
“Women shouldn’t have to bear the physical and psychological risks brought by a man’s decisions regarding his personal life and identity,” she continues. “There should be two categories: biological male and female.”
Bissonnette’s decision to refuse to fight Walmsley comes on the heels of several instances of similar protests by women across the sporting world.
As previously reported by Reduxx, women abandoned a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament in Georgia last month in protest of the participation of multiple trans-identified males. As a result, one of the men took home four gold medals in the women’s category, and, in one of the divisions, only males were on the winner’s podium.
Female martial artists Jayden Alexander and Ansleigh Wilk spoke out against the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) for their gender self-identification policy, sparking a wildfire of backlash that ultimately resulted in NAGA fully segregating the divisions based on biological sex with “no exceptions.”
On November 13, a female pool player in England caused similar controversy after walking away from the table during a tournament in Wales in apparent protest of a trans-identified male who was competing.

Best of the Super Jr. night 1 preview
This is the opening night of New Japan's annual junior heavyweight tournament. Twenty men will compete in two blocks of ten. Each participant will wrestle nine matches, against everyone else in his block. The goal is to finish the block with the best win-loss record. The top two in each block will advance to semifinal matches on June 3; the winners of those matches will meet on June 9 in the final. The tournament winner traditionally becomes the next challenger for the IWGP junior heavyweight championship.
A Block: Titan vs. El Desperado - Titan is the CMLL world welterweight champion, but titles aren't at stake during this tournament. This is sort of a battle of the bridesmaids; neither man has won the tournament, but Despe was the runner-up in 2020 and 2022, and Titan took second place last year.
Despe is a three-time IWGP junior champ, and for the past five years the title has largely been controlled by himself, Hiromu Takahashi, and Taiji Ishimori. On top of that, New Japan is helping him promote his own independent show on June 10. So you'd have to figure he's a heavy favorite to win the tournament. On the other hand, this is the main event of the opening night of the tournament, so you'd have to figure there's going to be a big upset. Something tells me this is going to be Titan's night to shine.
B Block: Hiromu Takahashi vs. KUSHIDA - Kushida wasn't originally announced for this tournament, but after YOH suffered a shoulder injury, he cleared his schedule. As a result, we get a match between two of the best in the modern NJPW junior division. Kushida won BOSJ in 2015 and 2017; Hiromu won it all in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
Hiromu rose to prominence in the junior division just as Kushida was starting to move on to other stuff. So in most of their singles encounters, Kushida was the old ace putting over the new ace--Hiromu leads the series 4-1. Now would be a good time for Kushida to get a win back, to help Hiromu look a little vulnerable before he racks up a bunch of wins. I wouldn't bet money on a Kushida win, but I'm leaning towards that outcome.
A Block: TJP vs. Kevin Knight - TJP appeared in the last two BOSJ tournaments, and finished 4-5 both times. Knight debuted last year with a 3-6 record, so there's practically nowhere to go but up. TJP's big thing now is that he's trying to be an openweight wrestler, and the "captain" of the United Empire. I doubt that'll play into this match much, but it stands to reason that he needs a good showing in the tournament to shore up his lofty ambitions. This isn't a safe match for him, but Knight is still booked pretty much like a young rookie, so a TJP win is pretty likely.
B Block: Taiji Ishimori vs. DOUKI - Ishimori was the runner-up in 2018's tournament, whereas Douki has never done better than 3-6.
Ishimori was injured near the end of last year's BOSJ, during a match with Hiromu Takahashi, and forced to withdraw. So aside from the usual goals of winning the tournament and chasing the junior title, he's no doubt looking for retribution against Hiromu.
Douki's big thing this year is his major victory over Hiromu on February 24. I'm glad he's finally getting wins like that, but that was almost three months ago and he hasn't really accomplished anything since then. He really needs to at least finish this year at 5-4, but I'm not counting on that. Ishimori is probably going to eat his lunch.
A Block: Blake Christian vs. Clark Connors - Christian is a stand-out in the US indy scene, and I'm surprised to find this is his first appearance in BOSJ. Although he's billed as representing Ring of Honor (where he does appear sporadically as a jobber), Christian is surely better known as the current GCW world champion. In fact, it was just last week that he retained the title in a controversial Dusty finish against Danhausen. I don't expect him to be protected at all in this tour, but it is pretty cool for GCW to have their champ here.
Connors is one of the IWGP junior heavyweight tag team champions. This is his third year in the tournament; in 2022 and 2023, he finished in the middle of the pack at 4-5. As one of Bullet Club's War Dogs, he's going to be more focused on bullying and hurting his opponents than seriously trying to win, and that's going to cost him many key matches. This feels like one of the matches he'll win to keep him out of last place.
B Block: SHO vs. Drilla Moloney - Sho is the IWGP junior heavyweight champion, so he isn't defending his title during this tour, but the tournament will decide his next challenger. (Unless he wins the whole thing himself, which probably won't happen.) Moloney holds the IWGP junior tag title with Clark Connors. Sho's personal best is 6-3; Moloney's is 4-5.
This is technically a Bullet Club vs. Bullet Club match, since House of Torture and the War Dogs are still officially subgroups within the same faction. Traditionally, when two Bullet Club guys face off in a tournament, they try to work out a deal where one lays down for the other, and it always backfires and turns into a vicious brawl, and then they make peace after the match. That probably won't work here, because nobody trusts House of Torture to live up to their agreements, and nobody expects the War Dogs to go easy on an ally. One way or another, though, I figure Sho will bring in enough interference to steal a win.
A Block: Kosei Fujita vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru - This is Fujita's first time in the tournament. Kanemaru's personal best in BOSJ was in 2017 when he finished 4-3, so he's never been a top contender.
Fujita has been a member of Zack Sabre's TMDK faction for over a year, but he's still little more than a Young Lion, so I expect him to finish at or near last place. If he's going to beat anybody in this block, however, it's probably Kanemaru. That alone makes this worth watching, but all the same I have to favor Nobu to pick up the win.
B Block: Ninja Mack vs. Robbie Eagles - Mack, who makes his BOSJ debut here, is the GHC hardcore champion at Pro Wrestling NOAH. Robbie is a mainstay of the tournament, but he's never done better than 5-4, which is a long way from clinching a semifinal spot. This match comes down to whether they want to give Mack a hot start, or if they want to big-league him by jobbing him to a middle-of-the-pack New Japan guy. I'm honestly not sure which way they'll go with that, so this is a pick-'em.
A Block: HAYATA vs. BUSHI - Hayata, another NOAH guy making his debut, is the GHC national champion. Bushi has been in twelve of these things; his personal best is 6-3, which is pretty good, but not always enough to make it out of the blocks. Of all the outside guys coming in this year, Hayata seems like the one they'd take most seriously, and Bushi jobs to pretty much anybody. I'll pick Hayata to win here, though he'll probably finish up around 4-5.
B Block: Francesco Akira vs. Dragon Dia - Dia, representing Dragongate, is a last-minute substitution for Ryusuke Taguchi. Akira, like his tag partner, TJP was in the 2022 and 2023 tournaments, and both times he finished 4-5. Dia strikes me as the kind of guy they'll book like he's just happy to be here, so it's okay to beat him a lot. If he's going to score any wins this year, it'd probably be against someone like Akira. But I think Akira will score the victory this time.

Jarrett Hurd vs Erislandy Lara: April 7, 2018
Context - ProBox TV is a YouTube channel for boxing. They have talk shows, post news, and highlights but the thing that makes them unique is that they host fights. And not just random fights. While the hole PBC left when Showtime pulled out of boxing is slowly being filled, there were a lot of fighters in the umbrella PBC promotion that kind of just fell by the wayside. Former world champions that did not get picked up and did not have big time promoters behind them to help them build or rebuild their careers. And that's where ProBox shines as a boxing platform. They get legit world class fighters on the rebuild and give them an opportunity to get back to the world level, or in some cases breakout. If you watched the Crawford PPV, you might have seen David Morrell face off with a guy named Radivoje Kalajdzic. Kalajdzic is a ProBox vet who took out former world champion Sullivan Barrera earlier this year, lining him up for that fight. Their most successful rebuild story? Angelo Leo just had a KO of the Year contender to take a world championship up at featherweight. Another successful ProBox rebuild project. Cool stuff.
All that to say, if there's anywhere for a guy like Jarrett Hurd (23-5, 17 KOs) to go, it's ProBox. Hurd was once the super welterweight world champion and seemed to be on course to becoming a proper star in the sport. He was exciting, had big wins, and was knocking folks out. Then he got cracked. J-Rock dropped him en route to a decision loss and then he would lose two his next three. All of a sudden, Hurd is 2-3 in his last 5 after looking damn near unshakeable. So he's looking to rebuild his career up at middleweight. He is set to face off against another former super welterweight world champion on the rebuild path, Jeison Rosario (24-4-1).
Hurd and Rosario will fight on the ProBox TV YouTube channel this Wednesday (Aug 21).

Gym Leaders Pt. 2
I figured I may as well try to come up with something for the types I was missing, as I had seven types I didn't come up with a leader for. So here we go :
Electric - Terry (name basis, battery)
An eccentric researcher in a desert area searching for new forms of energy. He has a Mad Max style look, kind of patched together metal and leather outfit, rugged overall look, goggles on his face. Yellow hair worn in wild looking dreads that end in jagged lightning bolt like shapes.
A bit wild in personality, can come off as sounding a little unbalanced in his excitement and passion for his research.
Rivals with Crystal, thinks she is too rigid and by the book with her research.
Gym Gimmick : Gym is located in a scrapyard setting, with open ended shipping containers forming tunnels you progress through. Making your way to various stations will let you operate an electromagnetic crane to move the containers, forming new paths.
Poison - Eris (name basis, aerosol)
A spirited skater and grafiti artist. She dresses in a hoodie splattered with mostly purple and blue paint, dark purple hair peeking out in bangs from within the hood. Wears a painter's mask over her mouth to protect from the fumes of her spray paint. Camo print shorts, likely also colors indicative of the Poison type, with roller blades that carry a Revavroom motif.
Confident and spirited, she likes to engage in playful trash talk during battle. She has a tendency to get super focused on one task though to where she will sometimes get distracted from her Gym Leader duties.
Gym Gimmick : Overall a fairly straightforward gym, it takes the form of a skate park. You have to defeat trainers to find cans of different colored spray paint you have to take back to Eris so she can finish a mural she's working on before letting you battle her.
Fire - Bernard (name basis, burnout)
A drag racer. He wears a full racing suit, red and white with flame patterns. He has a helmet, though his intro animation has him take it off to show his face, and he holds it under one arm during the battle. Has slicked back red hair and a sharp goatee.
Comes off as a bit cocky. Has a bad habit of letting the heat of competition get to him, and is pretty begrudging in admitting defeat and handing over a badge.
Gym Gimmick : ?
Ghost - Cecil (name basis, cease)
An actor that runs a "murder mystery" event in a haunted house setting (may have to be toned down from a murder mystery for rating? I dunno how strict they are about that sort of thing). Dresses as a classic detective for the role, Sherlock Holmes style cap and coat.
Tends to talk in riddles, as is the nature of the attraction he runs. Takes pleasure both in stumping his guests, as well as seeing them succeed.
Gym Gimmick : You participate in the mystery, trying to figure out the culprit from clues you find, as well as those given by the other "guests." There are a few rounds to the mystery, in which false accusations can cause extra trainer battles.
Fighting - Walter (name basis, welterweight)
A professional boxer, he's very much dressed the part, gloves and trunks colored / patterned in reference to the Fighting type. Black, spikey hair, wears a headband styled after a Focus Band. His start of battle pose has him using his teeth to tighten the laces on his gloves.
Takes training very seriously, both for boxing matches and Pokemon battles. Has a fiery spirit, eager to show his power.
May appear outside of the gym to teach the player about some sort of regional EV training method or such.
Gym Gimmick : ?
Ice - Crystal (name basis, ice crystals / cryogenics)
A scientist that performs research on low temperature phenomenons. She wears a crisp white lab coat with light blue trim, sort of "techy" looking glasses. She tends to carry a clipboard with her filled with research notes. Silvery blue hair worn in a long braid with crystaline ornaments in it.
Treats battle as an experiment, coldly clinical while battling, but gives a small smile of satisfaction as she records results.
Rivals with Terry, thinks he is a bit too irresponsible and unreliable with his research.
Gym Gimmick : Takes place in a cryogenics research lab, so rooms are very cold, meaning you may have to contend with Hail / Snow or such. Unsure beyond that.
Dark - Stella (name basis, stealth)
A tactical stealth type soldier, has some definite influence from characters like Solid Snake, Sam Fisher, etc. She wears a black and grey tactical outfit, utility vest and belt. Has a pair of night vision goggles worn across her forehead to show her stern, focused eyes. Lowers them into place for the duration of the battle. Has short cropped hair, dark brown color, fairly military looking style, think Jess from Advance Wars.
Very stern and terse personality. Doesn't do small talk. Not too talkative even after defeat. "There's nothing more for you here, soldier. Go about your business."
Possibly hinted that she once worked with Lt. Surge.
Gym Gimmick : Very much a stealth mission. Spotlights search over the grounds, and you have to try to avoid them while searching for card keys to get deeper into the gym. If a spotlight finds you, the lights for the room come on and you'll have to deal with a few trainers as a result.
