About Ruby’s SM Family

Boa

She looks up to her Boa unnie so much she always says she is a great role model to look up to.

They are both Catholics, and they bonded over their religion and their love for animals.

Ruby and Boa have a close bond that they have gone on multiple trips together.

Boa is a shy person, and Ruby is an extrovert, but somehow, they get along so very well. Per Boa

TVXQ

As a fan of TVXQ, it was a dream come true to get the chance to debut in the same company as them.

She looks up to both members and is always grateful for the advice they both give her.

When asked who her favorite member is, Changmin, but her all-time favorite is Kim Jaejoong.

Super Junior

She's close with Kim Heechul, Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, and Henry.

Ruby and Heechul had a fantastic year sharing an apartment, filled with joyful memories, even though they had to move out due to some noise complaints from neighbors.

Eunhyuk and Ruby become close after the two MCs together on Weekly Idol.

Kyuhyun and Ruby used to be neighbors, during the time Ruby debuted. Ruby used to invite Kyuhyun over to her apartment all the time for dinner.

Henry is one of her Canadian friends. The two are so close that Henry has Ruby under one of his emergency contacts because he knows that she will answer no matter what.

Girl's Generation

She is close with Tiffany, Sunny, and Yuri.

She is extremely close with Tiffany, her Cali sister. Tiffany took Ruby under her wing when she became a trainee in SM and helped her when she moved officially to Korea. The two are always seen spending time together either out in public or appearing on each other's social media.

Yuri is her party, unnie. Ruby has mentioned before that Yuri always knows how to make her smile, and when she wants to go out, Yuri is the first person she always calls. Also, Ruby mentioned once that Yuri is her favorite member of Girls' Generation since their debut.

Sunny is her other Cali sister, and the two immediately became close friends. All thanks to Henry who introduced them. Sunny is always inviting Ruby to go out to eat.

Sunny, Henry, and Ruby are known as the loud trio of SM.

Shinee

She is close with Jonghyun (RIP) and Key.

Jonghyun was the first member of Shinee that she met. He was always so supportive of her and always there for her. Ruby always mentions Jonghyun as an artist who inspired her to be her true self.

Key is the person she always calls to go out, whether it's shopping, eating, or just walking around.

She is also close with Onew, Minho, and Taemin, but is extremely shy when she's around Taemin since his her celebrity crush. The other members of Shinee always tease her about her crush on Taemin.

EXO

She's close with Baekhyun and Chen.

Ruby and Baekhyun are known as the Golden Retriever duo of SM. The two are so loud and chaotic together that they have been banned from doing live broadcasts together.

Chen taught Ruby how to improve her vocal skills, as Ruby struggled to hit high notes. They developed a close bond through their shared love for ballads.

Red Velvet

She's close to Joy and Irene.

Ruby refers to Joy as her soulmate because they instantly connected when they first met. The two are frequently featured on each other's social media accounts, and Joy has made numerous appearances in Ruby's vlogs. Additionally, Ruby composed and produced a song for Joy's solo debut.

Ruby and Irene share a relationship similar to that of an older sister and a younger sister. When Ruby became a trainee at SM Entertainment, Irene immediately took her under her wing. Despite her busy schedule, Irene always made sure that Ruby was eating well and getting enough rest. When Ruby had her debut showcase, Irene was one of the SM family members who came to support her.

NCT

She's close with Taeyong, Johhny, Yuta, Mark, Jeno, Jaemin, and Chenle.

Taeyong is her best friend, and the two do everything together. They frequently visit saunas and have even enjoyed half-body baths together. They are often seen hanging out in public and sharing moments on their social media, which has led to rumors about them dating. However, these rumors were quickly denied by SM Entertainment. The pair also have matching friendship rings and have promised to get matching tattoos.

Johnny is Ruby's American friend, and the two of them immediately bonded over their passion for fashion. Johnny loves to tease Ruby so much that fans affectionately refer to them as the Tom and Jerry of SM. They are so close that Johnny has invited Ruby to his house for dinner when she visits Chicago, and Ruby's family always invites all the members of NCT to their homes when they are in California.

Ruby refers to Yuta as her lost brother because they act like siblings around each other. Taeyong introduced them, and they immediately bonded over their love for rock music and horror.

Mark, Jaemin, and Jeno are Ruby's brothers from the 99 & 00-line group. The three of them always take care of her, especially during award shows or when their schedules allow them to spend time together. Among the trio, she spends the most time with Jaemin. They are often seen going to coffee shops, working out at the gym, or staying home to order food and watch movies. Jaemin frequently invites Ruby to his house to visit his parents, who adore her.

Aespa

She has a close relationship with all the members and calls them "babe" when they are together.

Ruby and Karina love to spend time together, whether it’s going shopping, working out, or grabbing a bite to eat. Ruby always calls Karina when she wants to go out because Karina is always up for anything. Ruby describes Karina as having the most selfless heart and feels that she has to look out for her so that others don’t take advantage of her kindness.

Winter is her introverted friend; these two are like Ying and Yang, opposite. They always bond over teasing Karina and their love for food. Fun fact: Ruby tricked Winter into trying vegan food, and Winter never noticed.

Giselle is Ruby's go-to girl when it comes to anything. They always make music together in their free time and hope that SM will allow them to release music as a duo soon.

NingNing and Ruby have recently become closer, often seen together at fashion events. They share many common interests, particularly in music artists. In a recent Instagram live, Ruby mentioned, "I just came back from spending time with Vivian. Our schedules matched up, and we decided to take advantage of that. Especially when you're in a foreign country and don’t know where to go—why not explore with your friend and get lost together?"

Riize

She hasn't had the opportunity to get to know all the members of Riize, but she is friends with Eunseok since they trained together for a while before Ruby debuted.
