Nomad - Super Fuzz
"... it's a germanium Fuzzrite! Either from late 1966 or early 1967. It shares the exact same guts as my longtime germanium Mosrite Fuzzrite from the same era, and pretty much the same tone. ...
cool little detail to mention about the Nomad Super Fuzz is that if it legitimately has a 1966/67 production date then it would predate the Univox Super Fuzz by at least a year, and was just a few months behind the Marshall Supa Fuzz. Which means that this is the very first pedal ever called "Super Fuzz", if we don't count the Marshall, that is."

Chris: Super Fuzz aka Super Snooper is an Italian superhero film made in the US in the 1980’s with Terence Hill, this is a strange cult comedy / fantasy film with Terence Hill in his usual role which is he is good at, recommended for fans of strange films, Watch: On Subscription Service.
Richie: It was a weird film about a man with superpowers who could do just about anything, I guess, amusing, Watch: On Subscription Service.

with 2 "nick rocks" appearances and a shout-out on "clarissa explains it all", it does seem the most appropriate station for them. here's what they look like uncrusted.

Dynavox - Psychtone SS
"It's a 7 transistor Brazilian made fuzz that looks like a Big Muff, is inspired by the Super Fuzz, and has a modified Fender Blender circuit. It's pretty gnarly and super aggressive sounding! The switches are, On/Off, Timbre which works like the 2nd switch on a Super Fuzz, and Tone Booster which works like the 2nd switch on a Fender Blender. There's a later model as well with a different graphic, but it looks like the circuit is relatively the same."
extraordinary footswitch configuration

ok well that one's going straight on the favorites list for sure. absolute masterpiece. one of the most genuinely unsettling horror movies I've ever seen, and I've seen a LOT. It's all the slow descent into madness that the Shining movie wanted to be, the acting never missed a fucking beat (this is the guy's FIRST LEAD ROLE and goddamn did he command every second he was on screen), played super well on the 70s talk show on-air/off-air setting, then throw in some Cronenberg-style practical effects and I could not look away

Honestly, given Stan's criminal record (half of which is in his brother's name) and the fact he's legally dead, you have to figure they resorted to forgery to get around customs issues while traveling on the boat.
~~~~~
They’re about two days out from Oregon, if the weather holds and Customs decides to not run a secondary check on their documents. His brother has asserted time and again that Border Patrol can’t legally ban them from entering the country, given that they are both, on paper, American citizens. But this doesn’t mean the ocean fuzz won’t ship the two of them straight off to Clallum Bay if their less-than-factual passports don’t pass muster, despite five years of fooling agents in twenty-seven different countries, two principalities, and one unmapped, underwater kingdom.
