mara & coach [biological father-daughter] headcanons

• bcs i hate rookie season, let's make it clear: coach (and jomo) were part of supa strikas goddamnit. so mara has seen past supa strikas members as her uncles (she and shakes met like once or twice when they were both children),

• coach, after jomo's death/missing and some other big dramas in sports environment, retired and become stay-at-home-dad (if you want to know how he even became the coach that we now, it was pretty easy because young rasta once visited him and was like: 🧍hey, sir hmmm... we need a new coach, so you want this job or not? you were very succesful at the peak of your career..., but we are not talking about this),

• y'all will think that coach is workaholic and doesn't have time for preparing mara to school but you are wrong. he definitely didn't let mara left home if she didn't take her lunch,

• speaking of school, i think mara is science-smart. she is good at math (some of students probably called her 'martha', bcs 'math + mara') and physics. ofc coach is proud as hell,

• if coach's mother (mara's grandma) was alive(?), she would look at the coach and tell something like this: my granddaughter become a pilot, while you at her age were running after the ball😐,

• mara is well trained (hell, this is coach after all). she was attending to judo class and acrobatics,

• coach's dog that we see in couples of episodes is son of old female buldog that lived when mara was still a child,

• coach was always open for mara's meetings with his proteges, so when mara had some free time she just walked into training base, sometimes she just sit in coach office and the other time she watched strikas players training,

• on mara's 7 birthdays they went to the lion king premiere (coach is still tortured by mara about the fact he let her watch mufasa death),

• mara changed her last name as soon as she came of age. this was due to security procedures and also because i don't think coach would be the type of father that would rise a nepo baby, so mara wanted to succeed without the influence of her big name,

• both of them are addicted to black coffee (black coffee and black coffee only, they despise latte),

• their love language is buying each other fancy cups from place they've been,

• mara has some of coach's clothes that he wore when he was young,

• they watched 'mad men' together a lot of times (coach type of guy to be fan of jon hamm),

• a lot of people when they first met them are like: WAIT 🤨 you two are related?.
