2024 FRC - September 🍂

Hello friends! I feel like September sped by. Did it for you guys too? So many things happening around here but I still got in some reading. A few tasks short of completing the @fanfic-reading-challenge - but still progressing. I read a few REALLY amazing fics and I'm going to rec a couple to you because they were SO good.

First - I got this rec from my wonderful bunny of sunshine - @sunshinebunnie - and it was FANTASTIC. She gets me.

lady lazarus by @widespindriftgaze (Laura/Sweeney - E 1/1) - It's the Russian Doll/Happy Death Day/Edge of Tomorrow AU that no one asked for - but we're all happy exists. If you've been here before, you know I'm a HUGE Groundhog's Day fic fan - and this one is clever and delicious and SO SO good. I was literally blown away after reading it.

This next one from our friend @starlightafterastorm -- it's AMAZING. First time reading Osha/Qimir - and it's SOULMATES!

our bodies are made of celestial light by @starlightafterastorm (Osha/Qimir - M 3/3) -- Did I say SOULMATES?! Yes. Red string of fate. It's absolutely gorgeous. My particular fave is how Qimir is written. Perfectly in character with what we got in The Acolyte. Just delish. AND soulmates. SO good. 10/10 would/will read again.

Top 5 comfort foods. 💖💖💖

Ooooh this is a great question!

My favourite food in the world is potatoes. Mashed. Boiled. Roasted. Put into a stew. I love potatoes so my number one comfort food is Potato Soup.

Then probably a really good poutine (all dependant on the gravy and temperature of the cheese curds). And the fries must be crispy but not over-cooked. It's a science.

I love home-made bread - but especially these buns I make with ground beef with a really light gravy baked right inside them. I could eat a million of those.

I also really love sweets - so my next comfort foodwould be something like chocolate cobbler (which is baked kinda like brownies but has a really rich sauce baked with it).

And then lastly I'd say something like a caramel apple empanada. They used to have them at Taco Bell and they were my favourite thing in the world - but they've been discontinued, so I'll settle for any other kind of apple based pie pocket. Lol.
