Beauty and the Monkey King

Finally finished this~  I always imagined Sun’s formal attire would resemble what the actual Sun Wukong wore instead of a traditional suit. As for Blake, I wanted to include some Chinese-inspired elements in her dress as well. ^^

Blake: *Walks in the room where Ruby, Weiss, and Yang are hanging out in. She just got her hair cut short.* Hey. What do you all think of my new hair style?

*Everyone looks at her and are taken back.*

Yang: *Gives her the thumbs up.* Looks good on you. Now Ruby's not the only one with short hair.

Ruby: *Cheers.* Awesome! We're short hair buddies! 

Weiss: *Doesn't seem too happy.* I really liked your long hair. Why did you cut it all off?

Blake: *Shrugs.* I just wanted to experiment. I haven't had short hair since I was a little kid. If I don't like it then I can wear hair extensions while I wait for it to grow back.

Yang: *Stands up and slings an arm around her.* I think it looks smashing on you. *Grins.* You know, if we ever go to Vacuo, I bet Sun will love your new hair style. I heard some boys love it when their girlfriend gets her hair cut short. 

Blake: *Her entire face turns red.* What? Sun's not my boyfriend!

Ruby: *Rushes over to them and grins.* Then why did you give him a cheek kiss when we left for Argus? That means you have a crush on him, right?

Blake: *Her face turns even more red.* Well.... Yes. I do like him. 

Weiss: *Smirks.* Can I be your wedding planner?

Yang: I get dibs on being your maid of honor, right best partner ever?

Ruby: *Starts jumping up and down.* Can I be your flower girl? Pretty please?

Blake: *Stands there dumbfounded while also picturing herself marrying Sun.*

Broke thoughts: Poor Bs no cafe talk :)))

Woke thoughts: Blake and Sun walking through the sleeping city replaces the cafe talk into something more deeper and serious for them. We get the introduction of Sun Wukong and who he is for not only everyone else, but more importantly for Blake Belladonna.

Sun shows up with his sunny disposition in a simple, yet thought out way with his sunny personality along with his "master eavesdropper" trait. (I'll get on to that in a bit) Going back to Sun, being the Sunny Boi that he is he decides to stick with his gun(chucks) and decides to help out Blake even if she doesn't want it. (A common theme with her) Regardless, Sun is able to read Blake pretty well in the beginning considering he brought her food because he knew she'd be hungry.

Talk about considerate and caring! He is already doing so much for a girl he hardly knows.

Onto Blake, she's very suspicious about his objective. But going back to Sun's "Master Eavesdropper" trait we see and know that Sun knows about the falling out with her friends and truthfully, that's all he wants to help with. To prove her innocence. Sun himself says "I'm the type who can't abandon someone who's down in the dumps." Wow, Sun is really earning that earnest title!

And really, Blake DOES open up for him. The cafe talk is moved to the port. She explains some things about the White Fang. They both just want to protect people! He even implores Blake to tell them she is no longer a member!

Basically Sun and Blake's relationship has only begun and this manga has given us a smoothly written and what I consider a better flow of dialogue for the situation at hand. This brings hope to the future content between them (v4-v5) because we'll get to see Blake once again truly grow and break out of her shell with the help of Sun Wukong and then by v6 we get to see Blake into action!

Their mission has only begun!
