Our Love is a Tempest
Pairing: Junmyeon X OC(female)
Genre: Junmyeon God AU; Soulmate AU; angst; fluff; one shot; junmyeon-centric?
Summary: Junmyeon was the God of the Sea, in charge of water, the god of storms and earthquakes. He was prone to anger, like the rest of his creed, and he could be cruel too, but Junmyeon was also a Guardian, who protected his brothers, who knew love towards his family. He also knew guilt, and maybe it was a mortal who would teach him forgiveness and moving on. Fate could be cruel, he knew that, but he would also learn that fate could be kind.
Warning: Mentions of death/drowning (OC is a mortician/undertaker)
A/N: This is inspired in part by Shakespeare's Sonnet 116. In the same universe as HONEY (EXO Yixing) and Flower (SVT Wonwoo). It had been a while, but I’m back! :) Let me know if you want a part 2
Word Count: 13.8k
Aeons had passed since Junmyeon and his ten brothers came into being. Their predecessors were ancient Gods, jealous, violent and unforgiving. On Earth, they had been named the Titans by the ancient Greeks, and that was as close to the truth as they got. Yixing never revealed the full truth of their reign and their demise to his poets and his oracles. As the God of Oracles and the Arts he was tasked with keeping Junmyeon and the rest a mystery so that the full extent of their powers remained unknown. They never wanted to be worshipped, not the way the Titans had been, with blood and violence and fear in the hearts of mortals. Gods were often cruel, but they were not evil. Humans had named him Poseidon, Neptune, Morskoi, Aegir. All false names, ones they could comprehend and understand. His brothers hailed him Suho, The Guardian, one who watched over them and protected them. He was the strongest God among the eleven, but the mortals didn’t know that, and they would never find out.
It had been centuries since Junmyeon stepped onto Earth or muddled personally in human affairs, and he wished his brothers would follow suit. Fate, it seemed, had different plans for them. Gods needed love, the Fates had told him as they tied knots into the golden thread of life that belonged to Jongdae, the God of Thunder. His brother, although smaller in stature than some of the others, was quick to anger like the rest of them. Gods took time to learn, and it was time that Jongdae learned what love was.
Junmyeon remembered coming from the Sea to Olympus, to find the sky black and loud, thunder rumbled and lightning flashed above him. He could feel Jongdae’s fury, one that was unrivalled by any other God. He felt the same fury in his heart. How dare the Fates choose for them, how dare they tie their life lines as if they were mortal?
The three Fates had called them to Olympus as witnesses.
“Gods take time to learn.” The youngest of the three had spoken, looking directly into Junmyeon’s dark eyes, filled with fury, deep like the oceans over which he resided.
“Learn to love.” The middle Fate spoke, her gentle motherly hand grasped Jongdae’s. In slow motion, Junmyeon watched his brother fall to his knees, the King of the Sky reduced to a kneeling terrified man. Junmyeon would never forget the look in Jongdae’s eyes, the terror that fell over him and silenced the sky and quietened the rage was etched into his memory forever.
“Your time has started.” The oldest crone had croaked out, her hands pulling the knot tight, so that it would never be undone.
That was how their fate was sealed, starting with their most volatile brother.
Now, hundreds of years later, he was handing a golden ring, almost the same he had given Jongdae, to Yixing. His brothers watched, surprise filled their gazes as Yixing curled his hand around the little golden band, forged down below in the depths of the Sea. Yixing had learned too. Warmth had replaced rage, and the sun shone a little brighter over Olympus. None of his brothers could tell, but Junmyeon felt lighter, as if a weight lifted off his shoulders, as if he could breathe a little more air. His brother was happy, and Junmyeon could never fault him for that.
-----------
Olympus was a fortress built of white marble, a castle hidden from mortal eyes within the clouds, often shrouded in storms. Above it the vastness of the universe spread into infinities as an intricate dance of light and colour, a composition more beautiful than anything on earth, incomprehensible even to the Gods that called Olympus their home.
Baekhyun and Jongdae stood on top of the fortress walls, gazing at the sky as it turned dark with nightfall. Although Jongdae saw nothing but the sky, he waited patiently for his brother. Baekhyun was entranced, unable to keep his eyes away from whatever scenario he was currently witnessing in his mind. The God of Love often stood gazing at nothing, his presence far away from his form, looking down at the fates of mortals, overseeing falling in love as was his duty.
“Who do you see?” Jongdae asked, leaning against the white marble edge as his eyes scanned the sky, watching as moonlight broke through the thick blankets of clouds that surrounded them. His fingers played with his wedding ring, the one that Junmyeon gave to him when he received their blessing and married his wife.
“Junmyeon.” Baekhyun’s voice was a whisper, but it was loud enough for Jongdae to hear and the name had sent a chill up his spine. He recognised that feeling as fear. His hands ceased their motions and he turned to look at the God of Love.
“What?” Jongdae’s eyes were filled with fear, the same fear that Junmyeon had witnessed in his own centuries ago, when the Fates had made them all watch as they tied knots in the golden string of his fate.
“Junmyeon will learn.” Baekhyun spoke, his voice sure now, steady. His gaze had locked with his brother’s and when their dark eyes met, thunder began raging on Olympus, the same kind that raged during the first Tying.
“He will love a mortal? Give up his rage?” The God of Thunder and Lightning had seemed unconvinced by the latter. He knew Junmyeon would love. No one could deny fate, not even them, but the image of his elder, the one who ruled over them and protected them, giving up his rage and letting go of the storm was absurd. Junmyeon didn’t know how to do that.
“The sea rages regardless, so does the sky.” Baekhyun responded, pointing an accusing finger at Jongdae, and then at the clouds around them when another flash of lightning passed right by his nose.
“Will he love her?” Jongdae looked over at his brother, his fingers still twirling the golden band on his ring finger.
“I doubt the Fates have seen anything akin to this.” Baekhyun answered. He had a familiar twinkle in his eyes. The God of Love was fortunate to witness the greatest love stories as they happened and the displeasure of watching the greatest tragedies too. This twinkle, not quite jovial, and not quite the shine of unshed tears, was simply content. There was a light at the end of this story, and that gave Jongdae enough assurance to put trust in his elder.
“What is she like?” Jongdae prodded.
“She is a mortician.” Baekhyun spoke, playing with the hem of his sleeve.
“She’s like Zitao then?” Jongdae tried to joke, his voice surprisingly light-hearted compared to the look in his chocolate eyes. Baekhyun laughed weakly, the sound hollow in his chest. Zitao was the God of the Underworld, the one in charge of death. He was tall, imposing, but also often the most understanding and merciful. He saw more death than all his other brothers and that made him gentler than some. Baekhyun knew Zitao was reasonable and kind, and he hoped the woman his brother would love would also be accepting.
“Water is a deceitful thing, it gives life, it shapes the earth,” Jongdae sighed, looking out into the dark clouds, feeling the electricity in the air, but before he could finish his thought Baekhyun cut in. His sombre eyes gazed into his brothers as his lips formed into a thin line and lightning flashed behind him.
“It drowns its victims.”
-----------
Down below the water, deep within the Sea, Junmyeon ruled as King, as one of three brothers who ruled their own realms. His Sea was not the same as mortal oceans. It was an ancient realm between Olympus and the Underworld, deep and unforgiving, where everything answered to him. His realm existed just as he existed; as an in-between; a mediator. In a bubble of air at the very centre of this ancient depths, Junmyeon had built his palace, and in the deep trenches of the sea, he placed his forge. Marble halls filled with green plants, both those that grew on land and those that filled the floors of the endless ocean. Thanks to Junmyeon’s powers the kelps, seagrass and waterwheels that decorated the halls moved as if submerged in water. They danced along to the currents outside. The God of the Sea had a peaceful home, and an empty one too. Children had not graced these halls since the early days of Jongdae’s marriage centuries ago, and all his workers busied about not really paying him much attention. Everyone had their own life. Junmyeon liked it that way. This was also why he was currently pacing the main hall, stormy eyes mimicking sea currents as they gazed pointedly at the Fates that decided to visit him.
“Your time has come.” The youngest one said, twirling his golden thread between her fingers. She looked him right in the eyes, but her youthful amusement did not match his expression. He was angry, ready to create floods, ready to drown.
“My time will never come.” He had said, his eyes not meeting the three women. Although his voice carried anger, he was afraid that the ancient beings would be able to see beyond the rage. The idea that they could see his bitterness and somewhere even deeper than that, his longing, was a frightening thought.
“You cannot deny Fate. You cannot deceive us.” The oldest spoke, her croaky voice bouncing off his ears unpleasantly as it raised the hairs at the back of his neck.
“She will be miserable without you.” The middle one spoke, her voice calm and gentle, it would have reminded Junmyeon of a mother if he had one. Her voice was soothing, like a balm over a wound. Maybe, if she had continued speaking Junmyeon would have lost his will, maybe he would allow his walls and reservations come crashing down. He did not. His wounds were too deep and his walls built too high. There was no gate in them either. No Trojan horse could break him from the inside.
“Not for long.” His curt reply was icy like the blue waters of antarctica, and as he spat out his response, he could see the currents of the sea pick up ferocity in the way his plants swayed and rippled. Mortal lives were short. Even if Junmyeon never stepped foot on earth, her misery would not last long.
“You will forget how to live without her.” The youngest Fate chastised, pointing an accusatory finger with her free hand.
“You will forget how to love without her.” She added when Junmyeon did not move.
“Even your brothers.” She spoke, and although that shook him a little, Junmyeon was the Leader of the Gods, a King among them, he would not break the façade of calm fury he had assumed.
“You are already starting to.” The oldest Fate accused, her eyes falling on to the Guardian, but even her gaze could not break him.
He clenched his jaw and put his hands behind his back. Out of the scrutiny of the Fates, he let his hands shake a little, their faint trembling was a chip in his honour, a sign that they were right, that he was breaking. More than that, it was a sign that Junmyeon, the Guardian of the Gods, was breakable. Heavens forbid anyone, mortal or otherwise, found out.
“I am not.” He continued, staring right at the oldest Fate, his eyes black like a storm.
“You cannot deceive us.” She spoke and the middle Fate twisted the golden thread in her fingers and with that small movement, she sent Junmyeon to his knees.
He clutched at his heart, eyes falling shut as the pain in his heart spread through his ribcage. The knot that twined around his heart pulled, twisting the muscle, bending it out of shape. Behind his closed eyelids, Junmyeon watched his life, the empty halls of his palace, the fear and dejection in Jongdae’s eyes when he didn’t approve of his wife, the same look that graced Yixing’s face as it appeared before him. He knew his brothers had held their breath when he gave Yixing his wedding ring, he didn’t think it bothered him that much. Until now. Slowly, by denying their fate and their happiness, he was being unfair. His shortcoming and his burdens were not theirs to bare. His guilt was his alone.
They had stopped their frequent visits, reduced them to merely a few times a year. He knew Baekhyun was giving him the cold shoulder since he refused to bend to Fate, refused to accept it, and inadvertently refused his brothers greatest gift, the gift of Love. He was hurting them, just as he was hurting himself, and now, as his life twisted in the Fate’s fingertips, he was painfully aware of that. Even that though, no matter how hard it was to know, could not erase the image of tsunamis devouring the land, nor make him forget of sinking ships and the screams of those drowning under the force of the waves.
Once the pain subsided and he could open his eyes, Junmyeon saw the wrinkled face of the oldest Fate staring down at him, her eyes dark like the death she spun into their threads.
“As Gods can be cruel, so can we.” She spoke and for a brief moment the sea fell silent, all tides ceased their courses, and Junmyeon could hear the echoes of his own heart as it beat against the confines of his ribs.
“So I’ve been learning.” He grunted, rising onto his feet on wobbling legs, trying to dust off his dark blue suit.
“Where do I go?” He asked, his voice hoarse in his throat. He licked his lips in an attempt to moisten them, but to no avail as the cracks burned from his saliva.
“Forward. Your legs know where to find her, it is your destiny.” The middle Fate spoke, but just as before, it was not enough to calm his nerves. Before he could compose himself properly they were gone.
-----------
Jongdae had kept repeating one phrase over the last few centuries.
“You cannot fight Fate.” He would always say, mostly as he looked out into the sky around Olympus while twirling the unbreakable golden band on his ring finger. He said it to his wife on their wedding day, he told his children that when he was putting them to bed. Jongdae whispered those words to Junmyeon when he was stubborn. Now, Junmyeon was muttering them to himself in anger as he cut flowers and put them in the right buckets of the flower shop he was working at. Pretending to be mortal was not a favourite past time of his and although he was grateful that Kyungsoo provided him with a human life and a job, he would rather not have ever set foot here. He did his job flawlessly, out of respect for the nature that Kyungsoo was the God of, and out of respect for Baekhyun, to whom he promised to try and find love. His usually mischievous brother ended up crying into his shoulder as he gave Junmyeon his blessings, but he didn’t mind. A few drops of water would never harm him, but they did make this decision easier.
The bell at the door chimed, rousing Junmyeon from his task. He peaked out from behind the stand, his eyes landing on a mortal woman. She wore a black dress with sheer back tights, black heels and her hair in a tight bun at the back of her head. A single silver hairpin gleamed in her hair in the shape of a water lily. Her eyes, blue and deep like ocean depths fell onto Junmyeon. She gave him a small smile, trying to be polite as she walked through the shop and to where he was standing, currently tending to a bucket of white chrysanthemums.
“How may I help?” Junmyeon asked, putting the pair of scissors he was holding away onto the counter behind him. His heart, which had been still during the last few centuries, was currently beating faster than it had ever beaten before, his blood, red and hot, pumped through his arteries with a force he could feel beneath his skin.
“Hello, I’m here to collect an order for Haven Family Funeral Home.” Her voice was even, unwavering. She gazed straight into his eyes, her deep blue a match for his deep brown, both filled with the force of a storm.
“The wreaths, and the white lilies?” He asked, remembering that there was only one delivery today, and that it was for a local funeral home. Kyungsoo had told him to be respectful to their workers as the community respected them.
“Yes.” The woman nodded, and Junmyeon’s breath caught in his throat, the oxygen not reaching his lungs as they burned for air. Even Gods had to breathe, but she was making it extremely hard for him right now. She smelled like fresh linen and dust, a strange mixture, but one he could understand. Zitao smelled of dust too, there was something about being in a place that meant endings that made it feel stagnant, as if no one and no thing wanted to move, because moving on was hard. No one wanted to do the hard things, no one wanted to say goodbye, but fate and life didn’t care what one wanted. Death came for all and Fate was inescapable.
“I’ll be right back.” He said, before disappearing at the back of the shop. There, once he was away from the eyes of the mortal woman, he fell. Onto his knees, onto the wooden floor, a God reduced to a man in pain. His heart banged against his ribs like an animal in a cage way too small for its size. It wanted to grow, extend beyond Junmyeon’s understanding. The muscle that stayed silent for millennia was now breaking free and his mind was reeling. It was on that very floor, somewhere on Earth, surrounded by gardening equipment, that the King of the Sea, the God of Water started the hardest lesson of his life.
After a moment, reluctantly, Junmyeon picked himself off the floor, dusting his black suit trousers, to pick up the wreaths and lilies the woman was waiting for. When he came out from the back room, Junmyeon was pale as a sheet, but his cheeks coloured a vibrant red as his heart continued its pounding.
“I’ll take them to your car.” He told her, trying to be nice, trying to make a good first impression. It took him only one look to know you were the one he was destined for. The golden thread of his life had twisted around his heart, locking it in place, forcing warmth to bloom in the cold cavity of his chest.
“Thank you,” She replied, looking into his eyes before they fell down onto the nametag attached to his shirt. “Junmyeon.”
The way her tongue twisted around the syllables and the way the sound resonated through him made his heart skip a beat and he wondered, when Baekhyun named his cherubs, did they too, feel such warmth when their names fell from his lips?
He walked behind her as she led him to her car and opened the boot for him. Once he placed the green wreaths and while lilies into the car, laying them flat so that they wouldn’t get squashed during the ride, he straightened and his eyes caught the black mark on the mortal’s wrist. The black ink spelled out the Chinese character for water, shui. His symbol, unbeknownst to her, stained her skin out of her own will. Fates apparently did have a sense of humour, or maybe they truly picked out the perfect person for him. Junmyeon shook his head, reminding himself she wasn’t his. She was mortal, she would live here and die here, and Junmyeon could not bring himself to take her away. Mortals had lives here, people they loved, people that loved them. They had pets and plants and dreams, and none of them involved him. They shouldn’t. He didn’t want to take her away from a life, her life, one she seemed content with, even if it was just on the surface. Junmyeon wasn’t that cruel.
“Shui?” He asked, the word falling from his lips, familiar like the back of his hand, like the very essence of his being.
“It means water.” She said, for lack of better response. They were both aware he knew the meaning but allowed her to say it anyway.
“I know.” He nodded, his eyes now scanning her face, subtly falling onto the curves of her lips, red like the blood pumping in her arteries. Red like the blood that was made up of water, water that called to him, that knew him.
“May I ask why?” He asked, no longer trying to keep his distance. Curiosity killed the cat, or so the tale went and Junmyeon was not impervious to its allure. Curiosity was what got him here, along with Baekhyun’s tears that soaked his shirt.
“Water is the beginning of life, the very possibility of living. It’s a good thing.” The woman answered, her hand rubbing along the strokes of the character, the black ink made more vivid under her fingertips.
“Is it?” Junmyeon asked. Was water truly this wonderful, worthy of tattooing the word onto your skin? Was it truly this life-giving, when it could also take it away, when it could destroy? Junmyeon was well acquainted with its darker side, familiar with the rage boiling under his skin.
“Living?” She asked, her incredulous eyes boring into his. A kind smile stretched her lips gently, without quite reaching her eyes.
He nodded, his eyes falling onto the pavement. He didn’t want her to see the storm that raged in his irises, the brown mixing with black, crashing against each other like waves. His inner turmoil was not meant for mortal eyes.
“I think so.” She replied, and although she never reached out and touched him, he felt comforted. The mortals didn’t hate him, because they didn’t know of him, didn’t know he was the one responsible for sinking ships and raging hurricanes.
“Are you a regular?” He asked. He promised Baekhyun he would try his best, and Junmyeon kept his promises.
“I am.”
“See you soon then.” He smiled, and she smiled back, her hands holding onto her car keys, reminding him he couldn’t keep her waiting.
“Same time next week.” She told him, swaying on the balls of her feet.
“I’m Evangeline by the way.” She introduced herself, sticking a hand out for him to shake. Kyungsoo had told him it was a greeting, so he extended his own hand, clasping her small one in his larger one, allowing her to shake it twice, a smile decorated her lips. This time it reached her eyes, and he though they were like still water, reflecting the storm in his.
“I’m Junmyeon, but you already know that.” He smiled, his own smile was weak, but Junmyeon had meant it, and he hoped she would understand. Her hand was warm in his, making his heart skip a beat in its attempt to escape his ribs to be closer to her. He watched her leave and once she did, Junmyeon could not help the rain that fell onto his cheeks like hot tears. As she left, the God of Water began his first lesson in love; falling.
-----------
Exactly a week had passed. Seven days, Junmyeon had waited for the mortal woman to return to the florist, where Kyungsoo had given him a mortal life, all so that he could appease the Fates, all so that he wouldn’t break the promises he made to Baekhyun. All seven days were wasted on looking after the flowers. He cut the stems to equal lengths and he changed the water in the buckets. Junmyeon wondered what the mortal woman was doing. Evangeline was a mortician. He looked at death the same way Zitao did. Every day, he faced what all his other brothers were reluctant to. Every day Zitao did the gruelling work of judging souls, bringing peace to the suffering, easing the pains of the sick and hungry, bringing those whose strings had been cut into his realm, giving their souls a new home. Zitao did it all without complaint, did it all because he was kind, because he understood death, was familiar with endings. He wondered whether Evangeline was like that too. Was she kind? Did she know death like the back of her hand, looking it in the eyes day after day, unfaltering, with the same kind eyes she offered Junmyeon when they met? He knew she was strong. Not even Gods could look at death and carry on living.
Seven days Suho, the King of Sea, waited for a mortal woman who lived with death, and finally on the seventh day, just as he cut the last of the roses to equal length, the bell at the door chimed and she entered, clad in all black with her hair in a tight bun with a silver water lily pin keeping it together. This time, black leather gloves adorned her hands hiding the tattoo of water away from Junmyeon’s prying eyes. She had given him the same small smile as before, but her eyes shone like precious stones in the shop lights, tiredness danced in them like gentle currents. Junmyeon smiled back, his smile brighter than before, as he left all he was doing and grabbed the order of white lilies from behind the counter.
“More white lilies.” He informed her, watching as Evangeline walked over to where he was standing. Today, she was wearing a black coat over a white button up with a slim black tie. It was evident she had acted as a funeral attendant today. Her shoulders slumped lightly, and Junmyeon could see she was tired.
“Thank you.” She responded, giving him a small smile as she took the flowers from him. Her fingers brushed against his, sending a shock of electrifying warmth up his arm. The hair on her arms rose, her heart beating a little faster at their proximity. It was no secret Junmyeon was handsome, but more than that, Junmyeon seemed serious, and she had never thought that was a bad trait. Serious often went hand in hand with honest, and she wanted honesty above all else. Real love could not be built on lies.
“Would you like to get coffee later?” He asked, trying his best to be brave, trying to keep his promises.
“Sure.” Evangeline answered, her eyes gazing into his, “I finish at five.”
“So do I. I know a good coffee place.” He smiled.
“I’ll take your word for it.” She answered, the lilies in her hands were a stark contrast against her dark clothes as she held them closer to her chest, trying to keep her heart steady.
“See you later, Evangeline.” His voice was barely above a whisper, and despite the sudden chill that travelled up her spine, she could hear the fear in his voice, see the uncertainty brewing like a storm in his eyes as they darkened.
“Goodbye Junmyeon.” She whispered, unafraid. She had no reason to be.
He watched her retreating figure leave the store, and once she was out of his sight, Junmyeon slumped against the counter, his hand clutching his chest, where his heart resided.
As soon as the door closed, as soon as she was out of his sight, Junmyeon ran. He ran to the back of the shop, straight into Kyungsoo’s office, where he was currently playing with the leaves of a spider plant. When he noticed his brother at the door, he stopped, motioning for Junmyeon to sit. Suho’s wide eyes brewed with a storm, his shoulders rolling like a hurricane across land. With wild eyes, the Guardian of the Gods asked for his help, turning to the God of Harvest and the Earth for guidance. Junmyeon had always considered Kyungsoo as reasonable, someone who could provide solutions.
“So you are going for coffee?” His brother asked, his large owl-like eyes gazed at him gleaming with mirth.
“Is that bad?” Junmyeon asked. He had never been on a mortal date. At least not a modern one. All of his brothers had once taken human lovers, ones they lusted over, ones they toyed with. Never ones they loved. Love was not a feeling they felt towards humanity, love was reserved for the bonds of family and loyalty between them. That was all.
“No, that’s actually very good.” Kyungsoo spoke, his hands fiddling again with the green narrow leaves of the spider plant.
“How do you know?” Junmyeon narrowed his eyes at his younger brother.
“Baekhyun’s little messengers come to me too often.” He sighed, eyes distant as he thought about all the times Baekhyun’s love messengers forced their way into his office, trying to appease him with cups of herbal tea.
“They like you because you don’t tease them.” Junmyeon patted him on his back, fully aware that the younger gods teased them endlessly.
“Never mind that. Think about what you should do after this coffee.” Kyungsoo straightened up, his plush lips now set in a straight line, his bright eyes darkened into a serious expression.
“Like what?”
“Like a real mortal date.” Kyungsoo clarified, looking pointedly at his elder.
“I’m not a mortal.” Junmyeon’s eyes darkened, the hurricane in them picked up ferocity.
“You don’t want another date?” Kyungsoo raised an eyebrow, disbelief painting his usually stoic features.
“I don’t want to muddle in mortal lives.” Now, with the Fates muddling into the affairs of gods and mortals, love was something else, something more. Junmyeon did not appreciate the Fates trying to make him mellow, he had given up enough rage, he had taken on responsibilities that made his shoulders bow with their weight. Why could it not be carefree Chanyeol who caused fires, or Baekhyun who had dreamed of it since the birth of humanity? Why could it not be Kyungsoo, with his big eyes and earth-stained fingers, who had spent more time among mortals than the rest of them? Why did it have to Suho?
“As Gods can be cruel, so can we.” He recalled the Fates’ words, remembered the chill that went up his spine, the ghost of which was now crawling the ladder of his vertebrae so it could settle against his skull, ring like a bell in his ears.
“Our pasts are long gone, mortals don’t believe in them anymore. Or in us.” Kyungsoo’s wistful voice rumbled in baritone through the room, and Junmyeon could have sworn that his brother made the room shake.
“It’s time Junmyeon.” He spoke, his voice deep like the earth and warm as his eyes looked at his brother. His hand went to hold Junmyeon’s, and that gesture, bold in comparison to the gentle affection Kyungsoo usually preferred, was reassuring. Maybe that was what a mother’s embrace felt like, Junmyeon wondered. He allowed himself the liberty to squeeze back. Finally, Junmyeon had found the rock upon which his waves could crash, and he was glad it had been Kyungsoo who caught him, who was steady so that he could break.
“What should I do?” He asked, and Kyungsoo didn’t waste many words, for it was not his nature. His answer was short, but it was enough.
“Fall.”
-----------
The coffee shop in front of which they met looked more like a greenhouse than a place serving food. Green areca palms were tall, spreading their thin leaves wide. Ficus plants stood like little trees beside the expensive brown leather couches in front of low dark wood tables. Small potted plants stood on windowsills and on plant stands in white ceramic pots. It was a pretty shop, one that Evangeline could see herself sitting in for hours.
Junmyeon smiled at the woman sitting in front of him. He could feel the strings around his heart pull and tug, trying to force him closer in an attempt to break the distance between them. The tugging was futile, as Junmyeon decided to keep his distance, watching as Evangeline’s red painted lips pressed against the white cup filled with espresso. Her black blouse was untied, the silk ribbons that would have been a bow before, now hung loosely exposing her collarbones and the expanse of her neck.
“This is a nice coffee shop.” She spoke, looking around at the plants surrounding their table.
“I didn’t lie.” Junmyeon smiled, his storm filled eyes never left her face, and his heart calmed when she caught his eyes. If he was filled with a storm, she was the opposite. Like calm waters, her eyes washed over him, surveying his relaxed form, watching as his fingers tapped ancient rhythms into his thigh.
“You didn’t.” She admitted. Her smile was bright, her eyes did not weaver from his as she held his gaze.
Junmyeon had ordered himself a cappuccino. He knew about coffee thanks to his brother’s Minseok’s love for the human beverage. It only took Minseok one trip to Venice, sometime in the 17th century, before he was in love and Jongdae’s wife once told Junmyeon that Minseok looked at a cup of coffee the same way Jongdae looked at her. Junmyeon wondered if the Fates would pair Minseok with the heir of Lavazza.
“How long have you worked at the funeral home?” He asked, wanting to know more about the mortal. If Fate wanted this, who was he to fight? If Fate dictated his, could Junmyeon truly resist? Jongdae and Yixing couldn’t escape, and he had a feeling neither could he.
“I’ve worked as an embalmer for three years now. I spent a year at the crematory.” She took a sip out of her cup.
“All for the same funeral home?” Junmyeon was intrigued. He had tried to avoid death, spent the last three thousand years as far away as possible. He kept his rage simmering, or at least tried to. Gods were volatile, and when they burst mortals suffered.
“Yeah. I like my co-workers and their values.” Evangeline nodded, eyes staring at him as he relaxed into the couch.
“Have you been a florist for a long time?” She asked in return, and Junmyeon had to remember that this was an exchange, ironically a one-sided exchange. Every word that came out of his mouth was a half-truth, a white lie to not give away much about himself.
He felt his heart constrict and the air leave his lungs, the familiar discomfort of guilt crawled its way languidly out of his stomach where he had buried it.
“A fair bit. I stopped counting how long.” He answered. Looking nonchalant and confident, he smiled at the woman in front of him. His arm rested on the plush leather armrest whilst his other hand played with the white ceramic of his coffee cup.
“Well, you must either love it or hate it then.” Evangeline laughed. Junmyeon had looked so serious, his eyes lost somewhere far away. She reasoned that if she had loved doing something, she would stop counting too. In the case that she hated every day of work, no longer counting would have been a reprieve. How could you continue living a life you hated if you knew how long you still have left? She didn’t want to even consider such a life. Evangeline was fortunate.
“How so?” Junmyeon asked, focusing on her, watching as she leaned closer towards the table, closer towards him. Among the warm tones of roasted coffee he could smell jasmine flowers, sweet and fragrant as they hung in the air. He wanted to continue breathing it in, wondering what he smelled like to mortals.
“You don’t strike me as someone old enough to stop counting years spent in industry.” Evangeline smiled, allowing Junmyeon to catch her eyes. He held her in his stare. The dark in his eyes was endless, and she felt herself tip over the edge of this unknown abyss.
“Why not?” Junmyeon’s voice was low and she felt the low rumble course through her.
“I believe I have lived long enough for numbers to be arbitrary.” He tilted his head, not breaking eye contact. He found he like the way she looked at him, her eyes swimming with questions and her lips trying to curl around unspoken words as she contemplated which ones should be voiced.
“How old are you?”
“How old do I look?” He smiled. Junmyeon could not guess how old he looked to mortals. Many things had changed since he came down to Earth. Civilisations rose and fell, people changed too, they changed clothes, the way they cut their hair, the way they spoke. Everything was different.
“You look about my age.” Evangeline answered, her eyes falling onto Junmyeon’s face. His strong brows and serious eyes told her he was mature, but his gentle features and golden skin didn’t show the effects of time on his complexion. She thought he was handsome, but she would not date to say it out loud.
“I’m thirty-one.” Junmyeon lied, his stomach twisting uncomfortably. He and Kyungsoo worked out a suitable mortal age for him before he came down to Earth, something old enough to allow for maturity and young enough to not attract scrutiny.
“I’m twenty-eight.” Evangeline answered, and Junmyeon could hardly comprehend how young she was compared to him. She was so young, she had seen so little compared to his brothers.
Twenty-eight years was a spec of dust in the lives of the Gods. He had lived four thousand years and half of that he spent living in chaos.
“I think I would like to know you better.” He told her sincerely. It was one of the only whole truths that passed his lips this evening and it felt good not lying to her.
“I like that too.”
Hours later, when it was time to finally part, they had looked once more in each other’s eyes, his a dark raging tempest; hers a brewing storm. Slowly, as if not to frighten him, Evangeline approached his towering figure, and pressed her lips into Junmyeon’s. The kiss was warm, and Junmyeon stood there as if carved out of marble, unmoving. Before he could react, reciprocate the small gesture, Evangeline had pulled away. Her bright red lips curved into a little smile and she waved him goodbye before disappearing into the crowd of mortals mingling about the street. Junmyeon watched her go, like a splash of black ink rolling through clear water until it diffused into nothing.
As Evangeline walked, she could not help but breathe deeply, not able to get the smell of sea breeze out of her nose, like the seaside after a storm. She turned her head to look back, catching Junmyeon’s eyes for one more second. Her blood rushed through her ears, imitating the sound of waves crashing against the shore.
-----------
Days passed in pleasant monotone. The new routine Junmyeon had built was broken only by occasional messages from Evangeline. The moment Junmyeon set foot on Earth Kyungsoo handed him a mobile phone and told him to figure it out. It had taken three of Baekhyun’s love messengers and a storm rolling towards the country and crushing against the southern shore for Junmyeon to learn to call and text. He still had no idea about what the Cherubs, as Baekhyun had decided to affectionately call them, referred to as Internet and he was not keen on learning either. Kyungsoo had mentioned that he does not use it either and since then Junmyeon refused help with it.
Evangeline soon learnt that Junmyeon was a lot more confident answering calls than texting. He had even taken the initiative to ask her on a date. He never mentioned where they were going, so just in case she had eaten before she left. They met in city centre, just outside the main government administrative building.
“What are we doing today?” She asked, looking up at the man as he led her through the streets.
“We are going to an Aquarium.” He answered and Evangeline could not help but feel relief at the idea.
“Right.” She nodded, falling in step with him as he lead the way to the large modern structure across the bridge.
“Do you like marine animals?” Evangeline asked, wondering why he would suggest such a unorthodox place. She was not complaining though, she had not been to the aquarium since she was little. It would be nice to visit it again.
“I love all marine life.” Junmyeon smiled, looking over at her. His eyes held a warmth in them that she hadn’t seen before. The serious, heavy atmosphere that usually surrounded Junmyeon and all of their conversations was gone. Evangeline could have sworn the man was practically gliding across the pavement, his legs light and his spirits lifted.
Once they had made it inside, Junmyeon had taken the liberty to hold her hand. Sometime after purchasing tickets he managed to slip his fingers through hers, intertwining their hands. His large hand was warm and comforting against her palm. A part of Junmyeon wanted to break all the glass here and let these fish and marine mammals and other creatures, all equally dear to him, all necessary, back to where they belonged. He knew it was unfeasible. Humans had an aptitude for destroying things, one that could rival the Gods, one that did affect the reals which they ruled. Humans had destroyed the habitats these living creatures belonged in, or they were in the process of destroying them. Humans knew like no other creature on Earth how to lay waste to ruin. They were masters of the craft. Some cared. Some looked at these creatures and felt the same rage simmer in their blood as him, some did all they could to preserve these creatures. Some of these humans even worked here. Junmyeon wanted to burst at the seams with rage, but the small hand clutching onto his was an anchor. It kept him in place, it reminded him why he didn’t meddle despite his desires, even the righteous ones.
Evangeline watched him from the corner of her eyes. When she saw another deep breath find a home in Junmyeon’s lungs she let her thumb caress the back of his hand, rubbing soothing circles over the smooth skin. Her eyes fell onto the brightly coloured fish in their tanks and she watched with awe as they swam between the vegetation.
“What is this?” She asked, pointing at the yellow fish, coloured like sunflower petals.
“Who.” Junmyeon corrected her, forgetting for a moment that he was pretending to be mortal. He had become comfortable by her side, Evangeline still rubbed circles at the back of his hand and each one was sending currents of electricity through his nerves, casing his blood to rush faster through his veins.
“That’s a Yellow Tang.” He pointed at the same small yellow fish she had.
“That’s a butterfly fish.” He pointed at another one as it swam to the front. It had stayed in front of Evangeline and Junmyeon had to remember to blink as he peered at the little fellow. She’s mine. He scrunched up his nose and the Yellow Tang swam away to hide behind some growing seaweed. There were benefits to being the God of the Sea and one of them was stopping marine life from ogling your girlfriend. What a life he was living.
“And this one is a Gobie.” He pointed at another fish as it swam towards them, passing Junmyeon to once more stay in Evangeline’s line of sight. Junmyeon shook his head in disbelief.
“That’s a clown fish, and the other one is Royal Blue Tang.” They passed onto another tank now and Junmyeon’s heart skipped a beat when Evangeline jumped excitedly as she peered into the green vegetation. From between the greenery swaying lightly in the currents generated by the water filter peeked a few little orange fish, their white stripes lined with black. Three deep blue fish, slightly bigger than them swam in front of the glass, waving their yellow fins and swaying their yellow tails.
“It’s Nemo and Dory.” Evangeline pointed at the Clown fish and then at the Royal Blue Tang. Junmyeon watched her, not understanding what she meant.
“Who?” He asked, eyebrows raised and wondering how she could possibly know their names.
“Have you never seen Finding Nemo?” She had looked at him with wide eyes, not believing what she heard. Junmyeon was tuck like a deer in the headlines. This was one these mortal things he didn’t understand and doubted he ever would.
“Finding who?” He repeated, still as confused as before. Evangeline straightened up, looking him in the eyes she smiled.
“I know what we are doing next.” She announced, before moving to the next tank.
Two hours passed in complete comfort as Junmyeon wondered the aquarium, Evangeline’s hand leaving his only in the small giftshop at the end of their trip. She had went and bought something small when he wasn’t looking, before taking his hand again.
“I got this for you.” She opened the little gift envelope, before taking out something small and shiny.
“Thank you.” Junmyeon took it from her. It seemed so small between his fingers. A small enamel badge gleamed in his hand, it was a little Royal Blue Tang.
“May I?” Evangeline asked, taking the little pin from between his fingers. Her fingers brushed against his and a current shot through their fingers, making their hearts beat faster. The golden thread keeping his heart prisoner tightened around the muscle, reminding him of the fate that bound them together.
“Of course.” He managed to tell her, his eyes creasing into half moons as he smiled, his cheeks rounding. She smiled back, fingers threading through his navy suit jacket to attach the little fish to the collar. Evangeline smoothed out the non-existent creases with her hands. Before she could retreat them, Junmyeon caught one of her hands in his, threading his fingers through hers. Joined this way, the continued walking.
-----------
The few days between their meetings had given Junmyeon time to resume his duties as a god. He allowed the tides to bash against the shores with new strength, waves beating against sand and rock and land, carving out new shapes and paths in their wake, creating and destroying all at once. Suho spun the typhoons and derechos away from the sea and towards the land, letting rain and sea water carve into the islands and continents. Nature had to run its course, whether people liked it or not, whether Junmyeon wanted it or not. Balance was essential. Balance was their friend and foe and duty. Junmyeon relished in the sound of waves crashing against the shore, he breathed in the fresh air, filled with storms and violence. His deep eyes, matching the dark waters crashing into land, scanned the horizon, his hair was tussled by the winds as he took in the force of his power, finally feeling what mortals knew since the beginning of their creed.
Electrifying, that was the way she would have described him had she been present. Magnetic and terrifying would also work if Evangeline could look into his eyes right now. Their softness was gone, replaced with something hard and serious. Duty or power, or maybe both, had made him harsh again, and it was this harshness, like a typhoon, that welcomed her when she visited the flower shop.
"Is everything alright?" The words flew out of her mouth faster than she could think, and her hands had reached for him out of their own volition, gentle in the way they cradled his cheek.
"I suppose so." Junmyeon spoke, his voice thunderous and cacophonous like crashing tides. He let his arms fall around Evangeline's waist, firm and sure in their hold. Junmyeon was meant to be the secure brother, the one sure of his standing, the one whose decisions are always executed, his words final. He had made his decision among the crashing hurricanes. Love was a force equal to his own, and he would not fight it. Evangeline was kind and mortal, but she would endure his love. She had seen death and continued living, continued being kind. That was more than Junmyeon could say for himself. He would give up his rage. He would transform it.
"You look different." She whispered, eyes falling from his hardened eyes to pursed lips.
"How so?" He looked down, feeling his true form peak through the mortal disguise.
"Like you're angry." She whispered again. It was quieter than before, more unsure.
"I'm not angry." He told her, turning his head enough to lay a kiss on her open palm as it still pressed against his cheek. The smooth skin was warm against him, comforting.
"Let me buy you dinner." He offered. Evangeline nodded her head, her perfectly red lips stretching into a smile. Junmyeon thought she would make a beautiful bride, dressed in white instead of black, holding flowers meant for the living. Reluctantly, he gave her white lilies and watched her walk out of the shop. Duty called, and Junmyeon understood very well what it meant to answer it. Love was a duty too, he thought, and Junmyeon was no longer afraid.
Later in the week they ended up in Evangeline’s home, curled up on the sofa as Finding Nemo played from her tv.
“These fish talk?” Junmyeon asked, eyeing the screen as the two clownfish, a dad and his son, argued about swimming.
“It’s an animation.” Evangeline laughed, watching as Junmyeon refused to take his eyes off the screen, gaze trailing behind the bright orange little fish as Nemo made his way to school for the first time.
“They are not real?” Junmyeon sounded incredulous. She wondered if he was one of those weird types whose parents never allowed cartoons.
“Are humans really that evil? Why do they take these creatures from their homes?” Junmyeon had cuddled up to her as the film progressed, angry at the way humans had separated the family. He had always known humans were cruel like that, but watching it on screen as it unfolded, knowing that the mortals knew what they were doing, was unbearable.
“Humans tend to take the things they think are pretty for themselves.” Evangeline answered him, her fingers running through Junmyeon's dark hair. His head had fallen into her lap and she enjoyed the comfort they have settled into.
“I can’t say I don’t understand, but I think by now they should know better.” He spoke, and she nodded along.
“We should.”
The film passed in silence. Junmyeon ended up too invested in it to speak, and when Nemo and his dad finally reunited, Evangeline could feel something wet soak through her pyjama bottoms.
“He finally found him.” Junmyeon whispered. She could see him wipe away a stray tear from his eyes with his sleeve.
“Do you want a hug?” She asked, stopping the gentle movement of her fingers through his hair to allow him to sit up.
“Yes.” He said, but instead of falling into being the small spoon he cradled her in his arms trailing kisses through her hair. She let him, closing her eyes when his hands came to rub soothing circles over her back.
"There is also Finding Dory." She whispered, eyes twinkling in amusement as Junmyeon stilled.
"Maybe next time." His voice came out a little hoarse, and she laughed lightly, turning to press a kiss against his lips.
-----------
Mortified. The mortal word felt adequate in describing how Junmyeon was feeling right now. Baekhyun and some of his little love messengers sat at his table at the coffee shop down the street from Kyungsoo's shop. Sipping on his coffee, Baekhyun kept giving him mischievous smiles as he winked at him over the rim of his cup. The love messengers laughed at his predicament, finding his powerlessness amusing.
“You cried watching a children animation?” Baekhyun asked when Junmyeon finished telling his story.
“It was about fish! What could I have done?” The God of Sea tried defending himself. The wellbeing of those who live in the sea was always a touchy subject for him. It was no wonder then, why he had allowed his emotions to show.
“You could have tried to look cool.” One of the love messengers supplemented as he drank his coffee.
“I think it is good he cried.” Another one chimed in. Honestly, Junmyeon didn't know their names that well. A new one was born when Baekhyun felt like it, and Baekhyun expressed his feelings more than any other brother of his did.
“He seems more human that way.” Baekhyun nodded along, his eyes surveying Junmyeon as he allowed some of his godly power to seep through. Rage lit in his eyes. Baekhyun could swear he saw a hurricane swirl in his irises and could hear waves crash when he spoke again.
"I'm not human."
“She’ll like you more now.” Baekhyun chastised. It wasn't like him to scold Junmyeon like that, but sometimes his brothers needed reminders. Love was a gift. A gift from him, and he took his gift giving very seriously.
“She’d like him anyway, its destiny.” Kyungsoo's voice rang out behind them, and the messengers scrambled off their couch to offer space to the Earth God.
“You should kiss her next time.” He said when he sat down, his brown eyes soft but his expression was firm.
“Yeah, snog her.” Baekhyun cheered, sitting up straighter in his chair.
“Feel some eros for her, show her some eros.” The god of love raised his eyebrows at him, sending a cheeky wink Suho's way.
“I thought I should be feeling a different type of love.” He spoke, raising his cup to his lips, allowing the hot bitter liquid to slide down his throat. He preferred godly nectar, but down on Earth coffee was sufficient.
“Don’t lecture me about love.” Baekhyun spoke, and the ground beneath them shook with the force of his power. Junmyeon's heart skipped a beat as he was reminded just how much power his brother possessed, even over them- those both angry and immortal.
-----------
Evangeline was kind. He knew that early on. Evangeline was brave and she endured, he knew that too. Evangeline was only mortal, fragile and flawed and empathetic. She was vulnerable. He was witnessing this first hand now.
He found her weeping on the kitchen floor. She had called him twenty minutes prior asking him to come see her. Junmyeon heard the break in her voice and wasted no time. She was still wearing her black coat, her loafers were still on her feet. She had decided to curl into a ball beside the kitchen cabinets.
With slow, deliberate steps, Junmyeon walked across the kitchen, he sunk to his knees beside her and waited.
"Thank you." She whispered when Evangeline looked up. Junmyeon's breath caught in his throat before he moved to sit beside her on the tiled floor. Evangeline rested her head on his shoulder. He took the opportunity to intertwine their fingers, placing her hand in his lap. With slow, deliberate movements he turned his head, and placed a gentle kiss in her hairline, allowing her to burrow into the crook of his neck. Her tears begun to flow again, warm and wet against his skin as they seeped through his shirt. He didn't mind. Water was his domain, water was him; and yet his heart broke that it flowed from her eyes, rendered her small and broken.
"Do you want to tell me what is wrong?" Suho asked, his voice small as he held Evangeline in his arms.
"They drowned." The words came out as a whisper. For a moment, Suho's heart stopped. He knew by now that some days this job was harder than others. He knew that there were days when Evangeline broke down at the smallest thing; completely overwhelmed. This would pass, she knew this too.
"In the sea?" He asked, afraid of looking down at her. He felt her nod. They lived in a seaside town. It was not unusual this time of year, it didn't make it any less tragic.
Guilt ate at him. He had stayed far away from humans for so long, commanded the seas and waters of the Earth from far away. He made his rule impersonal. Now, with her in his arms he was faced once more with the consequences of his powers. Old ghosts came out to haunt him, blame him for tragedies long forgotten. It ate away at him, dulling the hurricanes in his soul, slowing the waves in their path. Was this what the Fates wanted? Was it his turn to confront his ghosts? Fate is cruel, he thought. Fate is cruel, he breathed, and placed a tender kiss in Evangeline's hair, smoothing down the strands with his hand, letting her warm up in his embrace. Like a gentle summer stream, Junmyeon flowed, enveloping her in safety, tenderly.
"I'm so sorry." He whispered.
"I'm so, so sorry." He looked into her eyes, glossy with tears, as his blurred with the images of old ghosts. For a moment he remembered every ship that sunk in his rage, every lover who took their last breath in the murky waters of his kingdom, every echo of prayers sent his way to bring those lost back to shore prayed too late.
"It's not your fault." Evangeline rose from his shoulder, cradling his face in her hands. Junmyeon grabbed onto them like a lifeline, like an anchor he was afraid would rise too fast.
"It is." His tone was serious, darker. Godliness shone through him, waves crashed in his irises.
"I am the god of Water, King of Seas."
"Poseidon." He punctuated every letter.
"Neptune."
"Aegir." his voice was not loud, but it crashed through the space between them like waves against cliff faces. Forceful and final.
"Call me by any name, I have created them all." He whispered, almost ashamed.
"I am water." He spoke. Not once did he waver. He did not smile, his eyes didn't twinkle. His brows set over his features unmoving, his lips were like stone, features unmoving.
"And water drowns its victims." His eyes darkened, and he could no longer hold her hand.
Evangeline pulled away, her head shaking lightly as she searched Junmyeon's eyes for any hint of jest. She couldn't find any.
"No, Junmyeon." Breath caught in her throat and her voice cracked when she said his name.
"I'm sorry." He reached his hand out towards the kitchen sink above them, and with a flick of his wrist the water flowed from the pipes. With another twist of his hand it flew through the air, a thousand droplets filled the air, suspended and still. Light passed through them like through a chandelier. The room filled with golden rays. In any other circumstance Evangeline would have thought the sight to be magical, beautiful. Now she found it horrid, frightening.
The man she loved wasn't a man at all. He was something else, something unknown.
"Get out." The words punctured the air. Junmyeon forgot how to breathe.
"Get out." Evangeline repeated, pushing him away. The sudden touch caught him off guard. He lost all concentration. Thousand droplets fell around them, crashing against tiles and furniture as rain does against pavements.
Soaked, Evangeline shook, her whole body trembling as she made her way to her feet.
Slowly, Junmyeon rose from his seat on the floor. Not wanting to cause her further distress, he avoided her eyes as he walked out of the apartment. The only sound that carried through the air were his shoes against the wet floor.
Once he was in the corridor, out from Evangeline's line of sight, he heard a muffled crash. Silence. Then the sobs.
He took a deep breath, tears clouded his vision, and for the first time in over a thousand years, the God of Water, King of Seas, let himself cry.
With one last step he collapsed outside of his underwater halls, right by the throne surrounded by channels of sea water and crashing waves. Power had carried him to the safely of his home.
"We told you, Raging Tide." The Fates echoed through the Halls.
"To love is to hurt." Their voice rung out, thunderous and eternal as Junmyeon knelt at their feet.
-----------
A day passed by. Then another. Junmyeon had gained a new companion in that time. Fear was a new friend, or maybe a fiend as it stole his sleep and took his will.
He remembered what the Fates had predicted the first time they came to his Halls under the Oceans.
"You will forget how to live without her."
Their words seemed truer now than ever.
Junmyeon's thoughts were broken when his name rung out, bright and clear through the air.
"Suho!" His brother paced through the hall towards him.
"Baekhyun." He greeted, allowing the God of Love to hold him at arms length as he spoke. Baekhyun's usual light smile and twinkling eyes were replaced with worry. His coat was soaked by the roaring tides that crashed through Junmyeon's palace every once in a while. He must have gone down the wrong corridor when he went searching for him.
"Go to her." Baekhyun wasted no time in getting to the point. Junmyeon had promised his brother that he would not reject his greatest gift, but right now, more than ever Junmyeon wanted nothing to do with Love, nor with Fate.
"She does not want me to come." He spoke plainly, placing his hands behind his back as he tried to turn away.
"If you don't go now, you will truly lose her." Baekhyun admonished, making Junmyeon face him properly and look into his eyes.
"I made a mistake." The God of Water spoke. Behind him, Baekhyun could hear another wave crash through the marble halls.
"Then apologise." It was simple, a mortal solution that could remedy everything. Even to gods such as them it was hard. Apologise were difficult, no matter how many aeons one lived.
"There are no words adequate for her." Junmyeon turned his eyes way from the scrutiny of his brother. How could he apoligise? What words should he use. All languages of the Earth, alive or dead, did not have the vocabulary to describe his deep sorrow, to put his guilt into something tangible and explainable.
"You can't know until you try." Baekhyun pressed further, his hands no longer resting on his brother's shoulders. He gripped Junmyeon by the elbow, preventing him from moving away, from fleeing.
"Love hurts." Junmyeon muttered, allowing a new darkness to settle over him.
"Love heals too." Baekhyun spoke, sure of the fact that if his brother tried, he could find the right words. Happiness was so close, Baekhyun could taste it on the tip of his tongue. All Junmyeon needed to do was reach out.
"Go." He nudged Junmyeon one more time. A moment passed, and then Junmyeon's hard eyes settled on his. Junmyeon nodded, wordless and encompassing.
In a blink of an eye, he was gone and Baekhyun gripped empty air where he once stood.
-----------
Evangeline had spent the last two night crying, trying to dry her kitchen and her tears. Still, she found spots of dampness that reminded her that Junmyeon was a god. Junmyeon whom she loved, who she sought out in the night, who slept beside her and who smiled at her over bouquets of white lilies as if they were not meant for funerals.
She stood at the sink, watching water drip from the tap, remembering the way Junmyeon moved, the way he commanded it, the way it fell like torrential rain around them. She hung her head, trying not to think about him. Maybe if she forgot him she could live on. Maybe she could pretend he never existed in the first place.
A knock on the kitchen door startled her out of her thoughts. Evangeline turned, afraid that someone had gotten in without her permission.
Instead of a stranger, her eyes landed on a stoic man, his brows dark and heavy over his eyes. For the first time she noticed the way Junmyeon's eyes swirled like hurricanes. Despite the distance between them, she could see the crashing of tides over his face.
"I'm sorry." He spoke first. She stood still, afraid that if she moves away he will disappear like an apparition and if she moves closer she will never be able to let go.
"It wasn't the right time to unleash this on you." He continued, his voice deep and heavy as it crashed against her.
"You were having a hard time and it was unfair of me."
"Unfair of you?" She finally spoke. Despite her broken tone her words rang out clearly. For a moment Junmyeon looked away.
"I allowed my own guilt to take precedence." He clarified. Slowly, like he did that night, he walked towards her, giving her time to move away or to stop him. Evangeline did neither. her hands crossed over in front of her, but she didn't stop him.
"I am the one who controls tides and currents. I should take blame for when people die in my domain." Junmyeon spoke. He had been responsible for a long time, guilt ridden and detached all at the same time. People blamed him whether he was at fault or not, and he didn't doubt Evangeline would too. She knew the truth of what he was now.
"Just because you control water does not mean everything that happens in it is your fault." Her voice was quiet, but she looked into his eyes regardless.
"Did you know they drowned?" She asked after a moment.
"No." Junmyeon told the truth. He could control the tides, he could crash waves and aid migrations and lost ships but Junmyeon was not omniscient.
"Then how can you blame yourself?" It was so simple. So mortal. He didn't know it happened, he didn't cause it. So why would he feel guilty?
Slowly, as if not to scare him, Evangeline reached out, her palm cradled his face, stroking gently along his cheek bone. Her touch was warm, reassuring.
Something slipped off of Junmyeon, the hurricanes in his eyes changed into the glistening waters of calm cerulean seas.
He placed his hand over hers, before lowering his face to hers. Gently, slowly, they closed the gap between them. His lips were warm against hers, moving in careful, practised tandem as they drew the breath from her lungs, filling her with something hotter. Junmyeon's hands traversed the planes of her back, firm and solid against her. He pulled her closer, until no space between them remained. Evangeline's hands found their way around his waist. Their lips parted ways only for a moment.
"I love you." Junmyeon whispered against the skin of her cheek, before finding his way to her lips again. He didn't need an answer. The flutters of her heart against his were enough.
-----------
Since Evangeline found out Junmyeon was the God of Water, Junmyeon had become more keen in taking her out by the sea. Today he had taken her to the cliffs. They had strolled the lush green hills, covered in wild grass and purple flowers that somehow resisted the sea breeze and the salt in the air. They had walked hand in hand along the rocky beaches, watching waves crash and break against the shore. Now, they stood shoeless on a rock jutting out into the sea, a part of the low side of the cliff face as it joined the sea.
She truly had not meant to do that. In fact, she had wanted to do anything but that. She wasn’t much of a swimmer, and she had never dived in her life so slipping and falling off the rock and into the sea below was unnatural. She hit the waves, her whole body felt like it was covered in pins and needles. The coldness bit at her skin in the form of thousands of tiny teeth and her lungs burned as she tried her best to not breathe in the water. The salt burned her eyes, turning her vision skewed and blurry. Down here, there was no sound. No noise penetrated the wall of water all around her, and it was as if the sea had decided to drag her down, further and further into it’s depths, slowly.
Junmyeon’s reaction was almost instant. He let go of their shoes and jumped in after her, commanding the sea to let her go. The sea didn’t listen. Water was Junmyeon, and Junmyeon was water, and the sea desired her the same way he did. It’s desire was deadlier, it’s hold on her was the very opposite of Junmyeon’s. Cold fingers dug into her, clawing at her to stay, to be one with the sea bed. Junmyeon disapproved. He followed her trail, watching in the darkness as his love thrashed about and then slowly lost the will to fight as the current dragged her. The water whispered, pleaded for her to stay.
Junmyeon knew she was still human, mortal and fragile. Humans could not breathe underwater, could not survive the temperatures of the depths. Not without aid, not in normal clothes and without apparatuses that allowed them to breathe.
With one final command, Junmyeon called for the sea to leave her. This time it listened. The current around her stilled, keeping her in place, before pushing her towards him and towards the surface. It was arduous. Time seemed to slow down and seconds turned into whole eternities and lifetimes as he waited for her to be back in his arms.
Junmyeon gripped her, in the darkness of the sea, he fought the currents, bringing their mouths together, breathing air into her lungs as the tides carried them to shore, against nature but not against their master.
“I thought the Sea would never let you go." He spoke finally when Evangeline stopped coughing. She was still shaking from the cold and the ordeal, but she was alive, and her lungs were full of air. Crisp, sweet air.
"I thought so too." She whispered, falling into Junmyeon's waiting arms. He held her closed, warming her up with his body as he tried to ease her trembling.
"How can the soulmate to the God of Water not know how to swim?" He asked her, eyes incredulous and brows furrowed.
"Call it Fate." Evangeline managed to joke, but Junmyeon pulled her in closer, peppering kisses along her wet hair. The sun began shining again, its warm rays falling on their tangled bodies as they lay on the rocky beach.
"Fate indeed." Junmyeon whispered, looking up at the sky, wondering if his brothers were looking down at him now, whether it was Jongdae pulling the clouds apart to make space for Yixing's sun.
-----------
They left the beach soaked and trembling, but the whole ordeal had left Junmyeon with an idea. He didn't bother taking Evangeline back to her car. He didn't take her to the nearest village inn or grocery store. Instead, he pulled power, and in one step Evangeline found herself in his Halls under the primordial Oceans.
Evangeline's eyes roamed the marble halls, the flowers engraved in the walls that glistened from their mother-of-pearl linings. The rays of Olympus sun that reached them regardless of depths broke into rainbow shards on the walls and floors as they hit the crystal chandeliers with opal embellishments. Seaweeds swayed as if underwater and other sea plants lined the halls. the soft sound of flowing water came from the channels that turned the floors into an unending maze. Every once in a while Evangeline heard the great crashing of tides as they swept through distant rooms.
"Welcome to my home." Junmyeon spoke, leading her through the grandeur into his private rooms. There, he handed her clean dry clothes. One of his old tunics and a pair of soft cotton trousers. He handed her a towel as well.
Evangeline smiled and went to change behind a screen in the corner of the room.
"It's beautiful here, Myeon." She said once was dressed.
"Thank you. It's all yours." He watched her from his bed, the huge four-poster was covered in deep blue fabrics. Here in the depths Evangeline could see Junmyeon's godliness better. He seemed to glow with power, eyes shining and hair askew as if ruffled by sea breeze.
"My home is your home. Remember that." He told her, and she came closer to sit beside him. All this time they would meet in her home. Being here was foreign, strange. Only now she truly understood the scope of his power, the seriousness of their predicament. He was ancient, powerful and responsible for things she could not begin to understand. She was a mortal. her life a speck of dust compared to his, her responsibilities paled in comparison. She wondered, for the first time, whether this could even work.
"Will you tell me more," She finally asked, taking Junmyeon's hand in hers, she looked into his eyes and took a deep breath "About yourself and your family."
Junmyeon watched Evangeline with piercing eyes. He nodded, intertwining her fingers with his.
“ Gods feel lust, but we don’t fall in love. At least not the way humans do. The Fates saw that as a flaw, and my brother Baekhyun, the God of Love, agreed. He wanted to give his brothers what he gave to mortals, a type of happiness I suppose.”
He gave Evangeline a tight-lipped smile and she squeezed his hand.
"So the Fates and Baekhyun made a deal. They would tie soulmate knots into our lifelines, knots that cannot be undone. There was a caveat. The Fates wanted us to submit to their judgement, so there is no way to untie the knot without killing us."
"So you just accept Fate?" Evangeline was bewildered, her eyes Searched Junmyeon's face for any hint of hesitation or anger.
"Everyone accepts fate. We just happen to know about it. There are no exceptions in this universe. We just happen to be aware of it." Junmyeon let out a laugh, his lips falling into Evangeline's hairline. She still smelled like the sea, like him.
“So the myths?” She enquired, thinking back to high school, to learning about their marriages and conquests and romances.
“What myths? Of all the demigods? Of all of our lovers?” Junmyeon laughed again, smile bright and shoulders shaking gleefully, his eyes fell on Evangeline, his fingers smoothing over the furrow in her brows.
“Partially true. The time between ancient Greeks and the Crusades was a bit of a wild ride. We were ruled by chaos before I decided to be the responsible brother. Our children didn’t live long, they were volatile, unstable. They all died young. ” There was a small hint of regret in his voice, although he was never a proper parent before he felt hurt and grief for his children. Some things were inevitable if you lived this long.
“As my brothers run amok, Minseok and I looked at the death and destruction we caused and felt guilt, promised to never set foot on Earth again. I stayed clear of mortal affairs since.” He spoke, leaning back to take a good look at his soulmate. He felt the golden rope tied around his heart twist and tighten, reminding him of who they were and their destiny.
“Why me?” She asked, her voice small and unsure, and Junmyeon said the phrase he had heard over and over.
“Fates can be cruel.”
"Cruel?" He realised too late that this might have been the wrong choice of wording. Hurt flashed across Evangeline's face, marring her brows, twisting her lips. Her eyes flashed with sadness, but Junmyeon was quick to remedy that.
"Meddlesome." He corrected himself.
"Fate meddles, churns and spins our lives in ways we don't want." Junmyeon twisted their intertwined hands, pressed her palm to where his heart was, beating for her, twisting and churning as fate intended.
"It teaches us, that maybe the things we don't want, our fears and our rage, are only temporary. They harms us rather than protects us." He remembered his rage and his guilt, and the way she eased it, made it bearable.
“Do you really love me?” Evangeline asked, her eyes looking at him, waiting for him to look away, expecting him to do so.
“Yes.” Junmyeon was not a man who wavered or swayed. He would not turn away.
“It’s not lust I’m feeling. Eros is different. Eros is shallow, fleeting.” He remembered that kind of love. The gods had been hungry, left wanting more; never satiated. Junmyeon remembered the way it settled into his stomach like a monster in its pit. The lair had been shallow, and it did not make a home of it for long. This was different. It was terrifying and exhilarating and full of contradictions. This was the kind of love that would last, one that would never starve and never waver and never fade. It was a love that would require devotion and compromise and he was ready for both.
"This love is Pragma. A love built on duty and compromise and growth. This is a love that we had not been bestowed before."
“I feel like I’m drowning without you.” Junmyeon's breath fanned over Evangeline's face like a warm breeze.
“You can’t drown.” She whispered, remembering what had transpired earlier. He smiled lightly, but his eyes followed her with inhuman gravity.
“Without you, my lungs don’t feel like breathing.”
“Without you, nothing matters. Not the sea, not Olympus, not immortality.” Junmyeon took her other hand, holding both to where his heart thrummed and breath made home in his lungs.
“Fate is cruel, I know that. But Fate is absolute, and you cannot run from it. I tried.” He continued, watching as Evangeline gazed up at him, her breath in sync with his.
“You love me?” She asked again. Disbelief coloured her voice, as if she could not fathom the fact that a being such as him could feel such passion for her. Junmyeon put her musings to rest.
“I love you.” He repeated. He would repeat it as many time as he needed to, until those words made a home in his mouth, until they were engraved in the tissues and sinew of her heart; until her mortal red thread turned golden and godly.
“I love you too.” Evangeline's voice was clear as crystal when it rung through the halls, through the Seas and through him, tugging at his heart, pulling at his lifeline, twisting the knots in it until they were shapeless and impossible to untangle.
“What now?” She asked, and Junmyeon wasted no time to kiss her.
“Whatever you want.” He whispered against her lips.
“I don’t want to take you away from your life. I don’t want you to have to choose between me or the ones you love.” He confessed. Mortals had families, lives they needed to live. They were not made for immortality.
“You’re the one I love.” She looked hi in the eyes, falling into the hurricane that swirled there, now slow and careful rather than destructing.
“Marry me.” Junmyeon stated. With gleeful eyes he watched as Evangeline moved her face away from his, completely taken aback.
“Excuse me?” She asked, knowing full well that even at their age, marriage after nine months of knowing each other was not the best idea. It was quite a terrible idea actually.
“Not now, when you're ready.” Junmyeon clarified, eyes still sparkling as he resumed peppering kisses all over her face.
“You said I’m mortal.” She looked at him confused again, and he caressed her cheek.
“Not if you marry me. Once our threads become tied, yours will turn to gold, you will become a goddess.” Junmyeon remembered Yixing and Idalia. It was a grand wedding. Olympus was decked in gold, flowers bloomed in every crevice and the sun shone so bright, so perfectly that Junmyeon himself could not believe his eyes. He remembered Jongdae and his bride, their wedding brightened by lightning and decked in diamonds and silver and plants so emerald he thought they were jewels. He remembered the unbreakable golden bands created in his forge for these occasions. Who would forge his wedding rings? Kyungsoo who would pull them from the earth? Yixing who would weave them from sunlight? Chanyeol, who would craft them in a supernova or the heart of a volcano? Either way they would be eternal and final and binding.
“Goddess of what?” Evangeline kissed one corner of his mouth, and then the other.
“Seaweed? Clown fish? Does it matter?” He muttered, not really knowing what would happen. It was the Fates, after all that made these kind of decisions. In this, he was powerless.
“Junmyeon!” She smacked his chest lightly and he laughed. The noise carried, cacophonous and full through the water as pure joy bubbled in his chest.
“ Calm seas. The Goddess of calm seas.” He proposed, his smile never faltering. If he had his way she would rule the world, but balance was hard to break and calmness easy to seek.
Evangeline kissed his lips, hands now threading through his hair. He caressed her cheeks, fitting his mouth to hers.
Just this once, Junmyeon thought, just this once; Fate had been kind.

Edit to Prologue for future context!
Preparing for Chapter 2!
Unknown Thoughts (Prologue)
Genre: Angst / Fluff / Romance / Eventual Smut
Part 1
The rich smell of coffee filled the morning air, overlapping chatter and bustling as people prepared for their own lives. Some late and rushed, others taking their time and enjoying the chilling breeze that blew between the open windows of the small coffee shop. This was the way she liked to spend the early hours after sunrise. Her fingertips dancing over the keys of her laptop between sips of the sweetly bitter drink at her side.
A sudden presence at her left drew her attention and the girl pushed the headphones back to rest on her shoulders. A tall man with warm brown eyes, peered down at her. His uniform hugged his body in the most delightful ways, accenting the bulk of his arms under the rolled up sleeves of his button up, and the name ‘Thomas’ written neatly on the tag pressed to his chest. “What’re you writing today?” The friendly barista smiled and took a seat in front of the writer, a mug settled warmly in between his palms as his eyes glistened with interest.
“Oh,” the author looked at the screen briefly to skim over what she had absentmindedly written, “I’m still coming up with ideas for my new work. Writing doesn’t come easily to me, unfortunately.” She hummed in mild embarrassment, a pit of nervousness in her stomach at the thought of the sweet barista asking her to read the unthought words as he usually did.
“Read it to me? Maybe I can help you come up with something.”
“I don’t know. It’s not very good.”
“Oh come on, your writing is always good, Gin.”
A small defeated sigh left the girl’s lips, “Fine, just don’t be too harsh.” She hesitated before scrolling to the top of the page and reading the half hearted love story she conjured up in her head. As someone who had never felt the kind of love she wanted to write about, it was bound to fail. But when she glanced up, she saw Thomas’ expression turn into one of serious thought. Not a word was spoken as she read the few paragraphs she managed to jot down and at the end of it, an even longer moment of silence was shared. “I told you, it’s not very good.”
“No,” a small sip from his coffee and a comfortable lean back into his seat, “It’s just not very realistic. Have you ever thought about somebody like that? It sounds more like what you see in movies or read in books. A bit cliche.”
“I told you not to be harsh.” she sighed heavily and leaned back, taking a moment to appreciate her own drink, “To answer your question, no, I haven’t. Maybe I should choose a different topic..” That wasn’t entirely a lie. She’d been in love before, but it was nothing like what was glorified, nothing like what she wanted to write about. Her experience was painful, and draining.
“Do you have a deadline?”
She laughed abruptly, this man who she’d talked to every morning for the last three months still thought she was a professional of some kind. As much as Ginger wished to publish her own book, it was never going to happen and she knew that. Of course she didn’t have a deadline, no one was anticipating anything from her. “Nah, but I would like to actually finish something.”
“What about your other stuff? Why don’t you finish one of those?”
“You read them, they’re going nowhere.”
“Not if you don’t work on them. Not everything has to be perfect, Ginger,” with a quick glance at his watch, the barista finished his drink and stood, “Sorry, I gotta get back. Think about it. You have a lot of potential to come up with something great, but you’ll never know how great it could be without letting it out into the world.” and just like that he was gone.
He always said the same thing, but none of that was actually helpful to Ginger’s writing. No constructive criticism or advice, just “keep working on it.” With a disgruntled huff, she fixed her attention out the window, hoping to find some kind of inspiration but with the morning busyness dying down, the empty street served as a reminder of how boring her life truly was. There was nothing worth writing about. Nothing remotely interesting for people to tune into. Pulling her headphones back on, she shut the godforsaken laptop and slipped it back into her bag. Obviously this little coffee shop wasn’t giving her the motivation she so desperately craved, but where could she go? What could she do?
As she walked down the street in the direction of her home, she pondered on the stories she’s heard of how people motivated themselves. The idea of painting in a park could be the spark of inspiration she needed. But just the thought of sitting in wet grass, or the weird looks she’d receive. The regular little ball of anxiousness burned familiarly in her stomach and it made her hesitate. Maybe she should do something else, go get a good book or go watch a random film. But the image of doing it alone… Would people think she was weird for it? What if it was just a waste of time and money. Maybe she should just go home.
Deep in thought and with music playing loudly in her ears, Ginger didn’t realize that the sweet barista had followed her until she felt the warm touch on her shoulder and met the familiar brown eyes of the only person who had given a second thought to her childish writings. His chest heaved as he struggled to catch his breath, he must’ve run after her. Her curiosity peaked and suddenly her full attention was on him, but he visibly hesitated. “Did I forget something? I thought I grabbed everything.”
“No, no,” he started and scratched the back of his neck, “It’s just, I was thinking. My buddy got himself a gig with a pretty big artist and gave me some tickets to their show this weekend. I don’t have anyone to go with me and I feel like we’re pretty good friends after the last few months,” He rambled nervously and while her stomach churned apprehensively, her heart raced, “Anyway. Do you want to go with me?”
How should she respond? A concert? She’d never been to one, what if he didn’t enjoy her company? What if she fucked up what little relationship they had? Would she have to find a new coffee shop?
As if reading her anxieties on her face, the man smiled and his body relaxed, “It’s nothing serious, Gin. I thought it could be helpful to relax a bit. It could give you ideas for your stories. And I noticed how you’re always listening to music so I thought it could be fun. If you want, that is. And if you don’t want to go at all, I completely understand, it was super last minute any–”
“Who’s the artist?”
His lips curled back into the brightest smile Ginger had ever seen, this man, this sweet barista who had never demanded anything of her in exchange for his unconditional kindness. Now he nervously invited her out for her own benefit. “He’s an Australian artist, Irvin Iris. Have you heard of him?” Had she heard of him? Was he serious? Irvin was the artist she listened to most often, hell, she was listening to his music up until this very moment. She didn’t even realize she had frozen from the shock until she saw the large hand of the barista swinging in front of her eyes, “Ginger?”
“I’ll go.” His doe-like eyes glistened as his entire face lit up, obviously happy that she had agreed, “I’ll have you know that he’s god sent.” the man laughed with a playful eye-roll. “I’m not joking. God sent.”
“I should get back but tell me more about it tomorrow?” She was left with butterflies as she watched the man run back to the coffee shop, a feeling she didn’t know if she liked or not. Only time would tell. For now she should just focus on her writings and inspiration, or lack thereof. She intended to go home, but she held too much excitement to be cooped up behind a desk the rest of the afternoon, so she decided to go find herself a book to devote herself to. Something that would give ideas to her own work. Finally making her way through the library doors was much less scary than her mind had told her. There weren’t eyes on her and the quiet bustle inside the building reminded her of her mornings at the coffee shop, filling her with warmth and ease. Now all she had to do was find something to read.
The aisles of the literature failed to draw her attention, skimming from cover to cover, nothing stood out. Until, “Rise of Bliss.” The words written caught her eye and Ginger took the hefty novel to a quiet corner. While she didn’t intend it, this book occupied her thoughts for the rest of the week, she was hooked.
A maid who somehow managed to win the heart of a prince despite her best friend, a born Lady, being the one betrothed to him. Regardless of the Lady’s sacrifice of her own long life for her maid to be able to grow just a bit older. The book tackled the idea of knowing your days were numbered and being able to share those days with someone who had less, and how the maid’s betrayal hurt all more because of it. How the Lady found solace in revenge and her closest companion, a Duke raised alongside her and the prince.
It inspired some of her writing as the love story was one of passion and drama, things she wanted desperately to write about. Though she found her own writing to be a cheap knock off despite the gentle barista’s insistence that it was good. Still, she found herself addicted to this story, reading and rereading it until she felt like she was the protagonist herself and it gave to her own story.
Ginger found herself bewitched the story, gushing about every little detail to the sweet barista. So much so, she assumed that he was tired of it after the fifth conversation. She couldn’t help it, every time she reread the story she found little details or completely new meanings to the characters. Her perspectives on character’s and their actions changed drastically the more she read the art between the hard covers of that book.
The weekend came unexpectedly as Ginger had completely forgotten about the concert somehow, Irvin had been a staple in her life for as long as she could remember and seeing him in front of her, in the flesh. Singing for her. Her stomach churned and she felt the sudden need to vomit now that she pictured it, but in the best of ways. Even as she prepared for the event, dancing along as she dried off after a shower, singing into her hairbrush, and as she slipped on her shoes. She used Irvin’s music to feed into her fantasy and pictured him as the male lead in Rise of Bliss. He was what she pictured when she read it and she was terrifyingly excited to see him perform. Her phone screen lit up with a small text from her date and she knew it was time to leave. Ginger had told herself not to worry. She wasn’t the main character in the novel, there was no need to put so much expectation onto her idol. He was there to perform for his fans, she’d be another face in the crowd, and that thought brought her enough comfort to leave her house with anticipation instead of dread.
From across the street she could see the crowd forming around the venue and while it was overwhelming, it made her happy to know she wasn’t alone in her love for the artist. She fidgeted waiting for the crossing to change in her favor and she allowed the music in her headphones to sooth her anxiousness for the time being. The night air was refreshing and it made her feel like she was in a movie, it made it easier for her to breathe. Another text, ‘I see you!’ and a picture of Ginger with her attention fixed on her phone. She looked shabby in the photo and being surrounded by fans dressed up for Irvin made her self conscious of her attire. Maybe she should have dressed nicer. But the instant she met the sweet barista’s eyes, he just looked happy to see her. It made her heart flutter as he waved in excitement across the road. Even now, under the city lights and surrounded by crowds of people, his beautiful brown eyes immersed in her. He only saw her. The light changed and she finally felt her mind fall silent as she fixated on him and, with a bracing breath, crossed the pavement.
The lights were blinding, her body ached and burned. Ginger was sure she could see people above her but she couldn’t hear anything aside from the horrendous high pitched ringing in her ears. She tried to speak but she felt liquid flooding her throat. What happened? Those brown eyes, once so excited to see her. The one’s she’d grown accustomed to seeing in warmth with a smile, they looked so panicked now. He looked afraid. Of her? For her? She tried to make any sound, any movement to show her barista that she was okay. She hated seeing him so afraid, she wanted nothing more than to see that sweet smile he always gave her. Ginger’s body felt heavy, every touch she managed stung as shards of glass imbedded themselves into her skin. Was she run over? She never saw a car. But today was her first concert, her first date, her book. Terror filled her chest as the realization hit her, she would die without accomplishing a single thing.

ITZY Yuna & Chaeryeong x Male Reader (OC)
Tags: Smut
Genre: Cheating, Threesome (kinda?), Facefuck, Rough Sex, Dirty Talk, Female Idol x Male Reader.
People view you as one of the outstanding bodyguard in the industry, many labels hired you because of your efficiency and strict rules on protecting the client.
But you don't stay in a single label for too long. The longest you've been with your client is a month and you'll go with another K-pop group not long after your schedule.
You got call from your security agency, well from the president herself. She told you to come to the office in the afternoon and so you did.
You knocked on the door and a woman greeted you with a smile. The President's Secretary, she showed the way and you saw the woman who called you. Ms. Park Eun-ji.
"Oh, you're here! Sit down." she said and you bowed as you greet her. "Good afternoon Madam!"
"So, we have a hiring request from JYP. They said they want a bodyguard for ITZY, it looks like the number of sasaeng stalking the girls have doubled in the past. They were worried about the safety of their idols thats why they contacted us." She said, "That is the reason why i decided to send the "Guardian" to help them.”
You chuckled in your mind because your name Kim Suho can be translated into 'Guardian'
"I don't have any problem working with anyone madam."
"It's a deal then, you'll work with them and please make sure they are safe from those stupid miscreants."
"You can start tomorrow in the morning, make sure you are not late. You can leave now." Miss Park dismissed you, of course you bowed again before leaving.
–
You got up because of the alarm, it's your first day being the bodyguard of ITZY. You packed your things including clothes and other necessities.
On the way to the designated location of the client, you read the information regarding the said group. ITZY became a ‘Monster Rookie’ because they won their first music show, eight days after their debut, since then their fame has been accumulating until the stage in the foreign countries opened for them, as they muster fame they also gain crazy fans that stalked them to their own home.
Your mission now is to protect them, it is not new to you since you’ve been doing this for years now, it’s been a long ride and you arrived in the private home that JYP allocated them. There’s two guards in the gates, they have two manager here as well.
“Good morning!” you greeted the guards and they let you enter the premises. The girls are waiting for you in the front door. They have smiles in their faces, it looks like they are happy about having a personal bodyguard with them.
“Good morning, Oppa!” they greet you simultaneously.
"Good morning! My name is Kim Suho, i'm going to be with you indefinitely. I'll be in you care!" You greeted them back and they proceed to go inside the house because it’s still early in the morning. Before you went inside you made sure that the surrounding was clear first and nothing seems out-of-place. You have a room for yourself here in the house, as you are their bodyguard you need to be with them all of the time even if their work is already over. Only the managers are allowed to go home.
The girls have a photoshoot later in the morning, all of them were preparing for it. Since you are already prepared for the day, you are just waiting for the girls to finish their breakfast and wait for them to get ready.
“Oppa do you have a girlfriend?” Chaeryeong asked, you shook your head as an answer. “I told you he doesn’t have any!” Ryujin said while lightly tapping her co-member Chaeryeong’s shoulder.
“Does any of you is in a relationship?” i asked to just make conversation with them.
"Aside from Yuna and Ryujin Unnie all of us are single." Chaeryeong replied.
"Does your boyfriends aware about your situation?" They nodded as an answer.
…
The ITZY members are already prepared and ready to go for their photoshoot. The managers put the things they need in the van, you noticed how Yuna kept on looking at you.
She's been like that after breakfast. Looking at you secretly and she taught you didn't know. The managers are in the other van and you accompany the girls in theirs.
The Vans that the Korean Celebrities and Idols usually use has partition. The driver seat won't be able to see the passengers.
It makes the artists and idols more comfortable during the ride. You are seated in the back of the van and coincidentally, Yuna is seated beside you.
"Are you okay? You've been looking at me since earlier." You paused. "Is there anything thats bothering you?"
She didn't answer but she suddenly put her hands on your crotch. "Sana Unnie said that yours is really big." She whispered in your ear and her hand keeps on feeling your semi erect cock in your pants.
This girl really is naughty. I felt a familiar feeling when she brought my cock out and started stroking it. Yuna knelt infront of you, the space inside the van is spacious enough for her to kneel. "This is not big. It's HUGE!" When she had a closed-up look on your cock.
Yuna didn't hesitate to put your rod inside her mouth, the idol started bobbing her head while making sure that the other members don't notice it.
Yuna doesn't have many experience because you feel it. "You are not used on big dicks are you?" As you cupped her cheek to tell her to stop.
The ITZY member nodded. "My boyfriend's isn't even close with yours!"
And with that you snapped. You hold the poor girls head and impale her throat with your dick making her choke on it.
Only half of your dick is enough to make this little slut choked. Her eyes started rolling back and she's drooling all over your balls.
You didn't even bother looking at the other members because all of them has headphones on.
"gwock.. gwock.. gwock.." gagging sound filled the back of the van, you didn't even give any fuck if they are eavesdropping or not.
Yuna keep bobbing her head and using her tongue to lick your tip, you feel like you’re already cumming. So you hold her head once again and pushed it against your dick letting your cum explode inside the idols mouth.
"Where's your phone?" You asked. She pointed at her purse and reached for her phone in it. She gave it to you and open the camera and started recording.
"You're a cheating little slut aren't you?" Yuna nodded while her mouth is still full of your cum. "Show it to me, and swallow all of it" you commanded and she obeyed.
The idol showcased the cum in her mouth and swallowed it, she even showed her mouth after swallowing it.
Yuna licked clean your rod and went back to her seat beside you. She's now watching her own video giggling like a little girl who got what she wanted.
"I'm going to send this to Twice Unnies!" She said and you are not even fazed about it because you know those girls will like that video.
You already became their bodyguard once, and you know how filthy their minds is.
–
The van arrived at the photoshoot location, the schedule for today is for their upcoming comeback. Well, they have multiple song released in the past months but what can they do when the people adores them.
The ITZY members already inside and making preparation for the photoshoot when you notice someone outside the building, the person is in all black fashion, you conclude that he's taking pictures of the girls inside the place.
You went inside the building and find your way through outside again and to that person’s location. "They are adorable isn't?" You spoke and our guy jolted because of fright.
You immediately grab the guy in the neck and immobilize him. "Who are you?" But you didn't get a response so you took the liberty to take his hood off and see who he is.
Well, would you look at that, He's one of our prime suspects of stalking, this miscreant has been stalking the girls in three different occasions, I know because of the files given by Miss Park
"Don't even bother escaping. I've been catching scumbags like you ever since I became a bodyguard." You told the guy and the horror in his eyes were noticeable, you just smiled at him while waiting for the police to arrive. Minutes later sirens filled the quiet surrounding that you were in, the police took the stalker and thanked me for what i did.
The girls was disturbed by the sirens and came out of the building. Worry is plastered in their faces.
"Someone was taking photos of you guys earlier. I just apprehend him and called the police to take care of it. You can go back now!" You assured them. "Thank you, Oppa!" Chaeryeong said while the other members just nodded. "It's the guy who took a picture of you while you're sleeping. You don't need to worry about that happening again" you tap her shoulders twice and lightly push her inside.
–
The scheduled photoshoot is over and they are going to another location to shoot some of the scenes in their comeback. Only Yuna and Chaeryeong left out of five of them
The whole ride was quiet since both of them are tired. Even you was tired for them, they keep posing here and there to get shit done.
We entered the house and let them release some of the tiredness they experiencing. "Wash yourselves and get to bed early, i'm going to stay on guard." You told them and they did it. Chaeryeong look at me. "Oppa, i want to talk to you. Please come to my room after 30 minutes."
Is she still bothered by that stalker?
I just nod and let her go by herself. I sweep through the house to make sure again that nothing is out-of-place. I locked the doors, the ITZY members knows the passcode of the house so it doesn't matter.
Thirty minutes came and i walk to the direction of Chaeryeong's room. I knocked on the door and the idol opened the door for me.
She's beautiful… you said inside your head.
She's still in her bathrobe, and her hair was free falling. Looks like she just finished her bath.
(Photo not connected to the scene.)
"Oppa! You are right on time." She said, and pulled me in her room and guide me to sit on her bed. "I really want to talk to you about what happened earlier"
"I-i'm just grateful that the stalker was caught in action and i'm also relieved because that fucker took a picture of me being ugly, i want to punch his face into pulp!!"
You chuckled because you find her whining adorable.
"I'm just doing my job as a bodyguard and who said that you’re ugly? Are they blind or something?" You responded and you saw how she became flustered on your remark.
"Doing your job? Does your job also include facefucking Yuna?"
You were stunned, you thought no one noticed but you're so wrong.
"It's not just me, all of the unnies know what the two of you were doing, but we didn't say anything because it looks like Yuna enjoyed what you did to her." she said while laughing, she also showed me the group chat of ITZY and the messages of the other members made my rod grow uncontrollably.
"Opp - i mean, Daddy i want what Yuna had. I want it too!"
"Daddy?" You tilted your head because of what she said.
"An idol is not as innocent as you might think you know. I got one boyfriend in the past and we did have sex before i debut but he got jealous of other guys liking me as an idol so i broke up with him." She's caressing my body while she talks about her past. "As our group gain recognition, of course we also got the attention of perverts who makes deepfakes of us and other idols, some of them writing erotic scenes, I found a story that has me as the material. I find it hot and sexy for some reason.”
She took off my suit and polo.
"I was even portrayed as submissive slut, and maybe they were right. So Daddy, i want you to do everything you want to me."
She kneeled down and began unbuckling my belt, she pulled my pants together with my boxer into my knees.
"I knew it! It's bigger than the one in the video." Amazed by the massive cock infront of her.
"If i'm Daddy then what are you?" You cupped her cheeks and make her look at you.
"Your submissive slut? Cocksleeve? I can be whatever you want me to be daddy!"
"If you are a cocksleeve and what are you waiting for? Suck it!" You commanded her. She put your cock in her mouth and just like Yuna and the other female idols you've been with she also can't get past half of your dick.
Gagging sound filled her room, and you are ruthless this time around. You rest her head on the side of the bed and begin fucking her mouth like it's a pussy.
"mmgh… gwock… mmgh… gwock…" her gag reflex is strong but you didn't care about it. You ravage her mouth with your huge cock until her whole face turns red her eyes began tearing up as well.
You let her breathe and you didn't expect her to hold herself that good. She didn't tapped out.
"My past boyfriend didn't even have the chance to hold a candle against you." She said while still running out of breath.
"Bend over."
She did what you demanded and did it as fast as she could. You spit on your cock and started teasing her entrance, you are making sure that it will go in smoothly.
"Please! Daddy, f-fuck me please!!" Pleading for you to fuck her.
You make her bend more and her face were rested against the bed by placing your hand in her back before slowly thrusting your cock into her.
"F-fuck, d-daddy you are too b-big!" You can hear her whine but you still slid your member slowly. She moans louder as she felt that you are going deeper and deeper into her cave.
"So fucking tight!"
You move your hips with a rhythm making her painful experience into pleasure. She started moaning like little slut who needs more.
Minutes passed and you begin fucking her in a normal pace and you still didn't put all of your length inside her. "Daddy, fuck Chaeryeong like a cocksleeve. I want it all please!" She plead, her head turned to her shoulder to make an eye contact. You can't resist her lustful eyes.
You assisted her into a missionary and lift both of the legs into your shoulders. Aiming your cock into pussy once again and started pounding the shit out of her. A mating press.
"Aaahh! Shi-shit! DADDY! DON'T STOP P-PLEASEEEE!"
You keep fucking the idols beneath you, her sexy moans is like a music to your ears. Every press, her moan became louder.
"I'M CUMMING DADDY! PLEASE. LET ME CUM!!! AAAAH!~ FILL ME UP WITH YOUR THICK AND DELICIOUS CUM!!"
You pressed one harder than the rest and let the idol experience orgasm. Several burst of your spunk was released inside Chaeryeong. You pulled out and her eyes were rolled back, tongue sticking out while she squirts. Your load and hers was mixed and flowing out of her pussy.
"I was wondering why can't i see you downstairs. It turns out you are here Daddy"
You turned your head to see whose voice was that and you see Yuna standing there in the doorway which is widely open.
"I thought you'll be asleep." And walked towards her. The idols head was in the same height as your nipple, and she's the tallest of the bunch.
"Well, i'm planning give you a head and drink your cum before i go to bed but i heard screaming and moaning and it lead me here." She looked at her unnie passed out because of pleasure. "Suho Oppa, i want what she had just now."
"You have a boyfriend remember?"
"I don't care, i just want to be fucked hard by you. I can also call you daddy. Please?"
"Then kneel."
You commanded her, she let her tongue out, and you slapped her face and tongue with you huge dick multiple times.
She sucked your dick like the little slut that she is and continued to bob her head, lust filled her eyes you can resist such look and you began fucking her small mouth.
You cupped both of ther cheeks as she gags trying to do further from her limit. This cheating little bitch pushed her limit and got past what she did earlier in the morning.
Her eyes began tearing up, you feel the back of her throat everytime you thrust. This made her more lustful and horny as she undress herself and started toucher herself.
Yuna held onto your thighs because of how hard you fuck her throat, however her eyes never falter and keeps looking at you as if she's saying she's a good slut and reward her.
You didn't even warned her about you cumming and just grabbed the back of her head and shove it deeper into her throat and suddenly ropes of thick cum filled her mouth.
Having your dick down an idols throat isn't news to you as you continue fill the little slut's mouth.
Withdrawing your cock gives a pleasureable sensation to the young idol. She showed how filled her mouth with your hot cum and swallowed it. Not a single drop wasted.
"Your cum really is best! Did i do a good job?" She asked while her face was still smeared with saliva and cum from Chaeryeong when you slapped her earlier.
You put your hand on the top of her head and messed her hair as you nod.
Her eyes were filled with excitement and accomplishments as she giggles.
The other idol who passed out was already awake and masterbaited while watching you violate their maknae's mouth.
"That was so hot." Chaeryeong went to the side of Yuna. "So, are you also a cocksleeve now? Cuz i am." she's tempting the girl by teasing her and the maknae gave in.
"Yes, yes i am! So what?"
"So, i am still the sunbae even when we became both cocksleeves. We can't do anything about that."
"Shut up Unnie!"
"Yuna, we are not done. Come here!" Pulling her into the older womans bed. You lay down and position her into Full Nelson and the maknae's reaction was half excitement and half nervousness.
"I saw this on one of the porn Yeji Unnie watched last week, i can't believe i'm going to experience it now" she said while mounting your dick.
"You ready?"
"Yes, please use my slutty little pussy daddy!"
Thrusting upward suddenly made the idol moaning unexpectedly loud even Chaeryeong was startled.
"Don't stop! Don't fucking stop daddy please!!"
"I'm going to have a videochat with the unnies, i'll let them watch" Chaeryeong said like it's funny that their maknae was getting plowed so hard in their own home.
Yuna keeps on shouting, shrieking and moaning because of the pleasure bestowed by you. Cursing here and there and the Daddy became Master in an instant.
Her pussy was being mold to copy the shape of you cock.
–
"Ryujinnie~ Jisu-ya!! Chaeryeong is calling us" Yeji announce to her members. She answered the call and was surprise to see their maknae getting plowed by someone.
Heat began circulating inside their bodies and envy filled their minds. They can't believe how such a huge cock can go in and out from a tight pussy like Yuna's.
"Can you see this Unnies? It's Yuna's turn now, i passed out earlier after doing it and woke up to them getting intimate" Chaeryeong was focusing the camera to the other two who looks like they are the only people in the world.
"You call that intimate? Was that a Full Nelson?" Yeji shouted as a response.
"Yes, Suho oppa wanted it and the little slut named Yuna just let him do what he wants, well. I did the same thing. I let daddy use me with no remorse." she giggled.
"Isn't that position what you always wanted to do when you got a boyfriend?" Ryujin asked the leader of the group and she just nod her head as an answer.
Lia can't speak because she's laser focused on how their Suho Oppa was fucking the maknae like that.
All of the people got startled even the two people with no care about the world when Yuna's phone suddenly starts ringing.
"You bitch! You're boyfriend's calling you!" Chaeryeong's voice was full of panic as she handed the phone to Yuna.
"Answer it." They all heard what Suho oppa said. "Make sure to not get caught."
Yuna pressed the answer button, "Oppa? What is it?" Yuna asked.
No one can hear the boy’s voice and suddenly Suho thrusted into Yuna.
"Nnngh! No, no, nothing i hit my elbow to the wall." Yuna is doing all can she do to avoid getting caught.
Yuna is still getting plowed while talking to her boyfriend. "Ryujin Unnie, do find what Yuna's doing a little thrilling?" Chaeryeong asked Ryujin who is processing what is happening.
"What do you mean?"
"We know that your boyfriend has been messing with other girl before you accepted him right? So doing the same thing as Yuna will not be considered cheating because your boyfriend did it when he's still courting you."
Yuna's moan starts getting louder and louder, the call already ended.
"I'm just saying Unnie, Suho Oppa- i mean daddy has a huge cock and you'll forget about that stupid boyfriend of yours. Bye!"
"Chaeryeongie has a point, that fucker has been fucking around while he's courting you. If you do it it's just revenge." Lia took the initiative to talk first.
"Can i really do it?" Ryujin asked them, Yeji and Lia just nod at her as an answer.
–
"He almost caught us daddy! Fuck! Ooh sh-shit! Yes!" Yuna has been super loud after the call ended. You are still fucking the shit out of her. Her eyes were same as the older member before.
"You little slut, what if your boyfriend caught you and publish an article about you?" Chaeryeong sat beside us.
"Aaah shit! H-he will n-not because i know how naive that guys is" she answered while moaning. "Daddy i'm cumming! I want to be filled with your cum just like unnie! F-FUCK!!"
You speed up the pace while still in the full nelson and fuck her deeper than before.
Her moans is so full of lust that it makes you go a little harder. "Da-daddy you’re destroying me! Please, harder! FASTER!!" Hot thick cum started to shoot inside the idols used pussy. She's twitching like she's having a relapse. Pleasure overflows inside of her.
You are pretty sure Yuna has the same expression as Chaeryeong when you came inside of her. And you were right on the mark when Chaeryeong showed you the video of the climax.
"Daddy look at her! Our maknae really is a bitch! How can somene who has a bf have this expression when doing the did with someone else?" She chuckled while teasing the younger idol who passed out too. "Such a horny bitch!
"As if you are not the same." I answered while looking at her.
"Well, you are not wrong in that. I love how you fuck me hard. Anyways i'll let her sleep here tonight." She said and i decided to go back to my own room. But before i truly leave, i kissed Chaeryeong on her lips and marked her in the neck with a hickey.

project: make you love me (jyh) | six.
♣︎ spotify playlist | series masterlist
—summary: yunho can’t stand how you’re so wrapped up in the notorious campus fuckboy, park seonghwa. he would gladly love you the way you deserve, despite being shy, awkward and the complete opposite of seonghwa. thus, when he finds himself spending more time with you over literature reviews and random study sessions, he decides to take on the challenge to win you over.
—pairing: jeong yunho x f. reader x park seonghwa
—genre: (18+ - minors dni) strangers/friends to lovers, college au | fluff, angst, smut
—word count: 3.5k
—chapter content/warnings: cussing, sweet yuyu per usual, seonghwa moment (sorry yes he's back briefly lmao), crying & some overthinking, next few chapters will prob feel like lil filler chapters while things progress between oc x yunho <33 we are almost there yall, promise!!
Yunho parks his car in the driveway, clicking the key fob to make sure his doors are locked after he grabs his things from the trunk. Entering the house, it's a lot quieter than expected— typically, he has family members or close neighbors over even if they're just there to sit in the kitchen and gossip with his aunt and mom.
When he sets his things down and walks further into the house, he realizes why it's so quiet in the house.
"Yunho! Our handsome boy!" His aunt yells from the backyard where she sits with his mom, two neighbors and their two friends. Yunho feels the heat rise to his cheeks because even though this is happens constantly— he's still not used to the praising and babying from his own family members.
"Hi." He gives them a toothless smile and waves, helping himself to a seat right next to his mom. "Miss Universe herself, how are you feeling?" His mom chuckles before playfully hitting his arm.
"I'm doing okay, my love. I missed you."
"I'm here now, right? Did your appointment go okay?" He swings his arm around her chair and focuses all of his attention on her.
"Yeah, it went perfectly fine. I felt a bit tired and weak afterwards, but nothing some good rest and food couldn't fix." Yunho nods.
"Okay, that's good."
"How about you, tell me all about school? I think your mom is missing some details." She says with a small smirk and Yunho can't help but playfully roll his eyes.
"Didn't you wanna go to the grocery store?" He changes the subject, his aunt immediately catching on to the shift in his body language.
"Yunho has a girlfriend, I think." She says to her neighbors while smirking at him. Yunho's mom laughs it off, standing to save her son from the oncoming comments, teasing, etc etc.
"Suho." His mom says in a scolding manner, slight drip of playfulness to it. "Don't you have a list of things we need to get at the grocery store?"
"Oh shit, you're right." She says, hurrying into the kitchen for her list. Yunho laughs and bids farewell to their friends, following his mom and aunt into the kitchen. His mom grabs the list from her sister, asking if she needs anything else or if she wants food from anywhere before they return. She simply says no and says she'll be heading out with her friends soon— that the both of them should just enjoy shopping and eating wherever they'd like.
And so with that, Yunho carefully helps his mom get settled before hopping into the driver's seat. His music is softly playing in the background, while his mom continues to tell him about how her appointments have been and the people she's encountered. He starts to laugh when she mentions one of the technicians at the dialysis center, and how she's bragged about him to her countless times.
"Okay mom, I appreciate it but you don't have to play cupid." He smiles at her before shifting his attention back to the road.
"I know, but sometimes I worry about you." She gently squeezes his bicep. "I can't help it because I'm your mom. You do a great job taking care of everyone else, sometimes I just want someone to help take care of you."
"I'll be okay."
"I know, I know." She lets out a breath before toothlessly smiling at him. "But, you get where I'm coming from."
"I think so."
"What about your friend?"
"What friend?"
"From school? The one you talked about, you know? Helping with her assignments."
"Oh, right." Yunho chuckles. "What about her?"
"Well, what's her name?"
"You're gonna look for her on Facebook."
"I am not." She playfully hits him, making him laugh.
"Her name is Y/N."
"Beautiful name. I'm sure she's very pretty." Yunho shrugs.
"Y-yeah she is. But, we're really just friends. We click pretty easily. Surprisingly."
"What do you mean surprisingly? You're the sweetest and the friendliest boy I know. And I'm not saying that because I'm your mother."
"You're definitely saying that because you're my mother." He laughs.
"Why don't you see where it goes?"
"I never said I wouldn't." He laughs a bit. "I'm also not going to force anything."
"That's fair. She seems to be a good friend, though."
"She is. She's sweet."
♣︎ FLASHBACK
"Yunho!" You happily head down the steps when you see him standing there, patiently waiting for you. He has his hands dug deep into his pockets, hood on his head. A small, tiny smile tugs at the corner of his lips when you finally come face to face and stand in front of his towering figure. "Hey you." You gently poke at his arm.
"What's up?" He starts to lead the way with slow, steady steps— walking down his usual path around the complex.
"Kinda just wanted to take a quick walk."
"Feeling okay?"
"Yeah. Just tired."
"You're telling me. How's practice been?"
"Practice is practice. It's fun to be doing it with friends though." He nods, silently walking alongside of you. "How's Yeosang?" He chuckles.
"Yeosang is Yeosang. Currently still yelling at his screen."
"You guys should game together."
"We do when he decides to play Valorant, but he's more into League." He scratches at his temple. "I must sound very attractive right now." You laugh a bit.
"That sounds very fun. You'll have to teach me one day."
"You sure about that?"
"Yeah, why not. I'd probably have to play on a dummy account or something so I don't ruin your level." You tilt your head in confusion. "Ranks? Whatever they're called." He smiles.
"Fair." You laugh.
"Wow, so you don't believe in my abilities, huh?"
"You said it first."
"Yunho." You whine, making him laugh a little loudly this time.
"I'm kidding. I believe in you. It's really not that bad." You smile, but it quickly fades when you almost bump into Yunho just as he suddenly stops in his tracks. "Look." He looks down at you, then points upwards. "The moon." You stand beside him and look up at the moon.
"It's beautiful."
"Hm, yeah." He snaps a photo. "Sorry, I didn't mean to stop."
"No, please. I like seeing these parts of you." He smiles.
"Yeah?" You nod. "You don't think it's odd?"
"I could never think that way about you, Yunho." You playfully tap his arm. "Seriously. It's nice to see someone appreciate the moon."
"Someone has to." You giggle as you both continue to slowly walk alongside each other, arm brushing against one another.
♣︎ END
"Please don't forget to bring her by one day. I'd still like to meet her."
"Meet her?"
"You've been happier lately, and that's all I could ask for. She sounds lovely."
"Okay." Yunho nods and smiles at her just as he pulls into the lot of the market.
Yunho patiently goes around with his mom, placing every item she needs into the cart while she points out what's needed. They spend a good 45 minutes, close to an hour, just taking their time buying what's needed and other necessities. Afterwards, Yunho takes his mom to her favorite Chinese restaurant. They spend time talking about all things school-related and what his plans might be for the near future.
And Yunho loves being home, don't get him wrong. He'd always spend time with his family over anything. But, he couldn't help but think of you— especially after his mom brought you up.
He hopes you're okay. Maybe he'll check on you tonight.
Tonight, you wrap up your homework and waddle over to the couch— joining Seungmin and Chaery in the living room while they watch their show. Soobin is cooking himself some dinner since he just got back not too long ago from the library.
"Any of you guys want some ramen before I shut this off?"
"Nope!" Seungmin yells loudly even though he's just in the living room.
"Same. Thanks Soobinnie." Chaery says in a sing-song tone. You simply look at Soobin with a small smile, shaking your head before returning your attention to your phone. A text comes in and you're [slightly] surprised at who it is— but, you definitely can't say that it doesn't put a smile on your face.
yunho: take a look at the moon if you haven't yet.
But, your smile instantly fades when you can't respond right away. A call cuts through on your screen, and it's probably the last person you want to speak to right now— even though you know you need to.
"Hello?" You answer nonchalantly, not in the mood to speak to Seonghwa.
"Hey. Are you free right now?" You sigh and look at the clock. 10pm.
"Yeah, I am."
"Can you come down? I'm here in my car."
"For what, Seonghwa?" You hear him sigh heavily on the other line before speaking up again.
"I just want to talk. We haven't talked in days and I'm trying to figure out what's going on between us."
"Seonghwa—"
"Y/N, please. That's all I'm asking for." He says in a serious tone. You roll your eyes and purse your lips together, pausing for a moment before responding.
"Fine. I'll be down in a few."
"Alright." And with that, you end the call— sliding your phone into the pocket of your sweats before forcing yourself off of the couch to grab the nearest jacket.
"My jacket?" Soobin watches as you snatch his jacket off of the dining table chair.
"I just need it for a second. Please?" You pout and he nods.
"Where are you going?" Chaery asks while her and Seungmin continue to watch their show, her eyes fixed on the TV.
"Seonghwa wants to talk."
"Oh, jeez." She says. "Goodluck with that, hun. Call if you need anything."
"Yup!" You slip into your crocs, dragging your feet down the steps and to Seonghwa's car. He's parked by the curb, windows slightly rolled down so you're able to catch a peek of him. He's staring down at the phone near his lap, the light illuminating his face. He texts away even as you approach the door, but chucks it into his middle console after he's sent whatever he needed to send. You plop onto the passenger's seat and avoid eye contact, crossing your arms as you look straight ahead at the car in front of his.
"Hi to you, too." He furrows his brows a bit.
"So, what is it Seonghwa?" You finally turn to him and let out a barely audible sigh.
"Baby, come on." Seonghwa clicks his teeth and pouts a bit. He slips his hand on your thigh and lets it rest there. "I said I was sorry. I know I fucked up majorly, but something just came up and—"
"Something came up? Something always comes up for you. You couldn't even take one second to text me or let me know? It doesn't take much."
"I know, I thought I was going to be able to make it in time."
"Right. I've heard that before."
"I'm sorry." He repeats.
"Heard that before too." You shake your head. "Seonghwa, I think we should just stop doing this, okay? Clearly, you have better things to worry about and I'm just tired."
"W-what?" He looks at you, really looks at you. Almost in disbelief. Probably disbelief. "Baby, I don't wanna do that. I don't wanna lose you."
"It doesn't matter if you do, you always have someone to fall back onto." You shoot back, and he's silent. Of course he is. "I thought so."
"No, you're not giving me time to get my thoughts together." He panics. "Y/N, baby. Please. Hear me out. I don't wanna lose you. I really don't. I know I fucked up time and time again, but I'll do better. It's always been you and—"
"You're only worried about losing the idea of me, someone who will be there as your safety blanket when other shit doesn't pull through for you. You aren't actually worried about me, and you know I'm right." He scoffs and shakes his head, but he doesn't say anything, no. He can't say anything because he knows it's true. He quickly deflects and brings up the one thing that has been running his last nerve lately:
"Why don't you just say that it's Yunho?"
"This has nothing to do with Yunho, Seonghwa! I'm so tired. It's been months of this back and forth bullshit, don't you get it? It's so clear what this means to you, and I don't wanna stick around, waiting for somebody that doesn't even care about me."
"Don't say that I don't care—"
"You don't!" Your tone raises a bit, and this is when it settles that Seonghwa isn't good for you. He will never be good for you, good to you. He will never change, and you will never find an ounce of pure, genuine happiness being stuck here. "You really don't. You can't claim that when I've caught you multiple times doing shit behind my back, let alone left my ass in the cold like I was easily disposable. Multiple times." Tears are pricking your bottom lids and you're not sure if it's because of everything you've been through or if it's because you feel bad for yourself— for settling, for letting him walk over you. You are aware that, however this ends, you'll need to take a moment and say your peace to it. "I'm so done with it, Hwa. I don't need this."
"Wait, Y/N. Please." He says, hand giving your thigh a gentle squeeze so you don't up and leave right away.
"No. We're just going to go in circles and repeat the cycle. This is done—"
"How can I fix this?" You furrow your brows and shake your head, letting out a scoff.
"You really have to ask? If you really wanted to know, you would've asked that question a long time ago." You remove his hand from your thigh.
"So, that's it?" He asks because he doesn't know how else to respond without sounding even more pathetic. "Y/N." Hwa panics again when he sees you swing the door open, stepping out without saying another word to him. Though, he couldn't really tell you why he panicked— perhaps, yeah, it's the thought of losing you, but mainly his image. How he'd look if people ever found out that you left him first.
And you know this already.
In plain words, he's just worried about losing another girl on his list. Especially the one that was always there for him, the one that rarely gave him issues. Didn't get strung up too quickly, didn't really press him for shit over the months.
Damn.
Even though you said it had nothing to do with him, Seonghwa still thinks Yunho played a part in it. And that's fucking annoying.
"Y/N!" You hear him call for you again, even after you've slammed his door and stormed off to your apartment. You feel the tears pricking your lids again, and you're doing your best to hold it in. But eventually, the tears stream down your cheeks; one by one.
This is you saying your peace.
Then, you'll move on. As you should.
"Baby is back!" Chaery cheers but her smile instantly fades when she sees you wiping away at your face. "Aw no, baby. What happened?" You shrug as she comes to you and pulls you into her arms.
"I just ended it with Seonghwa."
"Oh shit, good for you! Finally!" Seungmin is still sitting on the floor, so he flicks her on the leg. "Ow! The heck?"
"What she means to say is that everything's gonna be okay, and that it's okay to cry if you need to." He looks at her and she follows with a slow nod.
"Yes, absolutely." You wipe the remaining stragglers and shake it off, returning Soobin's jacket to the dining chair.
"It's fine, I'll be okay. I needed to do that." You look at them with a reassuring expression. "It's just time to move past this." Chaery rubs your back.
"Do you need anything?" You shake your head.
"No, but I'm going to head into the room and just chill for the night."
"Okay." Chaery gives you a small smile.
"Get some rest." Soobin adds.
"I will." You head off to the bathroom to wash up and get ready for bed. It's still early but you don't think you'll be sleeping anytime soon with the thoughts that are currently bombarding your head. It does suck to finally part from something that no longer serves you, but you know it's for the best.
You were done.
Suddenly, you remember Seonghwa bringing up Yunho and it begins to irritate you. How dare he? He knows nothing about Yunho, and you hate how he's the first one he tries to blame. Shame that he's grown but can't take full responsibility for his actions. Until this day, Seonghwa has yet to fully acknowledge everything he's done.
He still finds a way to beat around the bush, implying that he did no wrong.
You shut off the lights and lay in bed with the mood lamp on, picking up your phone to finally respond to people. You sent your mom and sister a quick text before switching to Yunho's thread— realizing you still haven't responded to his last text.
you: ugh, that picture is perfect. the moon is sooo pretty tonight. 🥺
you: sorry for the late response, kinda got wrapped up with something super last min. how's your weekend going?
yunho: why the sad face? 😣
you: it'd be nice if we could go on a walk and look at the moon together.
yunho: aw yeah, that does sound nice. but, i hope the picture at least put a smile on your face.
yunho: & you don't have to apologize. but, it's been nice being at home and catching up with my family. what about you? everything okay?
you: i don't know? it's okay, i guess. just kinda tired.
yunho: you sure that's it?
you: no. 😕 but, it's nothing really.
yunho: calling you in a few, is that okay?
you: more than okay!
You continue to scroll through your phone for a couple of more minutes before Yunho's name lights up on the screen. A small smile pulls at your lips just as you pick up the call, Yunho rustling around in the background.
"Hi." You hear a bit more rustling before Yunho is letting out a [content] sigh.
"Hey, sorry. Just got in bed."
"That's okay." You chuckle. "I'm also lying down and just being lazy."
"Good, you should just rest." Yunho clears his throat. "You okay?"
"Mm, I don't know. I guess."
"What's going on?"
"I ended things with Seonghwa tonight." He remains silent for a bit before he responds with a—
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be. Again, just moving on." You chuckle a bit. "I did cry a teensy weensy bit, but I needed to let it out in order to let it go."
"Yeah, totally understandable. You sure you're okay? It's okay if you aren't."
"I am okay. It does suck though, we argued and then I just—" You pause. "I don't know. I guess I realized how this wasn't good for me. Everything came crashing down and I was so over it."
"Mhm." He softly answers, letting you continue on.
"I don't wanna keep being like that, you know? I don't say much, but I always feel anxious and stressed. I always end up thinking about what Seonghwa will do to hurt me next. That sounds so bad, but it's the best way to put it." You sigh. "It's just not good."
"I'm sorry, Y/N. It's not. But, it's okay if you aren't okay right now. Take your time."
"Thanks Yunho. Seriously. I'll be good." You let out a small, breathy laugh. "Just a moment of weakness."
"Not weakness." There's a small pause as you let Yunho's response sink.
"Hey, by the way. We're doing a scary movie night thing at our apartment soon. Do you wanna come over and join us?"
"Hm." He hums, thinking about whether or not he should just do it.
"Come on, it'll be fun."
"Fun for you because I'm sure I'll end up as your punching bag when things get too scary." You chuckle.
"No, not even! Seriously. We'll have lots of food."
"What movie are you planning to put on?"
"Would that be a dealbreaker?" You tease.
"Maybe." He plays along.
"I truly have no idea yet."
"Alright then." He laughs. "Yeah, I'll join." You gasp.
"Really?"
"Yeah." He reiterates.
"Aw, yay! I hope you didn't feel pressured or obligated." Yunho sits on his response for a bit; no, he doesn't feel that way. It might be new hanging out with you and your friends, but he was looking forward to just being in your company.
"Never that."
"I'll text you all the details later." You yawn.
"Sleepy?"
"Kinda. Just exhausted."
"I can go if you—"
"Stay. You're good. Even though I might fall asleep soon." You giggle.
"That's fine." Yunho answers. The two of you continue to talk a bit about how home has been for Yunho and what you had been up to over the weekend. After the cute giggles and playful teasing, there's a nice, comforting silence that falls between you two. Yunho almost believes you've fallen asleep until you sleepily break the silence by calling his name.
"Yunho?" There you go, calling his name like you always do. It's becoming a weakness for him.
"Hm?"
"Thanks for always showing me the moon."
"Course." He matches your tone, and responds close to a whisper. Another silence settles in, but Yunho is positive you've fallen asleep due to the very small and soft snores he hears on the other line. He chuckles to himself before setting his phone aside, keeping the call connected on speaker in case anything went wrong.
He'd be there.

Lookism: What Normal Life? You're at J High!
Summary: In which a girl thought she could live a freer, unbothersome life hiding behind a) handsome or beautiful, b) gangster wanna-bes or c) all the above people at J High.
(Spoiler, she thought wrong, and let's face it, she's not that normal either)
Pairing: Our queen just gathering bits and pieces of interest from everyone in school and Gun...yea. A little bit of Everyone x Female! OC!
Note: A short bit of interesting background plot on the Female OC at the beginning before we meet manhwa characters.
Maybe a part 2 to continue this series?
Warning: Some swearing, blood, and fighting (just Lookism themes).
Lee Seo-Jun hates it here.
"Why J High?"
"...why not?"
On her left was her mother, and to her left was her father.
"J High won't do you any good." Chung Ye-Jun, Seo-Jun’s mother, and the Co-President of the Lee Company, shakes her head. When she was about to put one hand on Seo-Jun’s shoulder, Seo-Jun immediately stood up and glared.
Chung Ye-Jun let out a sigh, before backing off.
"Alright, as per our deal, we won't interfere, right, Duri?" Chung Ye-Jun turns to her husband, Lee Duri, the other Co-President of the Lee Company with a smile.
"I will not go back on my word, however you must not ruin our reputation like that brother of yours."
Seo-Jun narrowed her eyes at the father of hers, and begrudgingly nodded obediently.
She hates them just as much as she hates this place.
"Duri. I thought we decided to not speak of him anymore, after all, our successor has always been our lovely Seo-Jun right?"
No, the successor was supposed to be her older brother, and no one else.
"After all, she is a good child. Such a shame that you weren't a boy. That would've been perfect."
Sometimes she wondered just what she did to deserve this?
To them, nothing else mattered as long as Seo-Jun stayed with them, and she had to, for where would she go?
But that’s a misconception, Seo-Jun can go anyway but here.
"I'll go myself." She excused herself without any sort of permission, but a call of her name stops her in place.
"Lee Seo-Jun. You won't forget us, will you? Make sure to send back your monthly quota and send us how you're doing from time to time!" A subtle nod, before she shuts the door behind her.
Behind the door, Seo-Jun could still hear them speak, and it’s almost too obvious, predicable and sickening that she wants to silence them.
How dare they?
"Honestly, if he was here, Seo-Jun wouldn't be so lonely. Why did he run away? He was doing so well in our education just like Seo-Jun." Chung Ye-Jun crosses her arms and winks at her husband.
What do they know?
"That is why she won’t fail us like that failure, Lee Suho. She is our successor after all."
Seo-Jun decided to not hear anymore of their bullshit and took large strides away, followed by a couple of unneeded security guards and assistants.
Seo-Jun entered the elevator with the silent group of spies, people assigned to watch over her, and promptly ignored their pointed stares. Instead she looked outside the large glass windows and repeated the vow in her mind.
Lee Company will fall.
The Lee Company stood proudly as always.
Lee Seo-Jun was a simple person.
An apartment near the school, with a two bedroom and two washrooms. A small kitchen with the bare essentials is all she needs.
Silence is her favorite noise, and loneliness is her best friend.
Normality is often overlooked, yet it's something she appreciated.
"Young Master! Welcome! I will be your butler-wait wait wait! Why are you pushing me out!?"
She slams the door in front of the innocent butler as she should, and ignores the banging on the door, or the calls of her name.
"Young Master! Just because you sent me money that could feed a person for a year, doesn't mean that I will leave you! I promised the Co-President that I would make sure you are fed everyday!"
She sends another hefty amount, as she should, to get rid of the nuisance, and for tips, she ensures to call the police.
"Young Master!"
Carlos Garcia is the type of person she hates the most.
Overzealous, annoying, and gives no care for her privacy.
But he is her butler (watcher) and if she does want to get rid of him, she would have to speak to her family again.
"Young Master! It's time for school!"
"..."
"Why didn't you tell me you were awake! C'mere! I made some tostadas-Young Master! You have to eat breakfast-"
She shuts the door behind her without hesitation and moves on with her day.
“I know you don’t mean it Young Master! You saved me that day after all!”
Seo-Jun pulls her hood over her head and sprints.
“It’s a guy?! Dammit!”
“Why is he not saying anything? Is he mute?”
“Why is he wearing a mask? Is he super ugly or something?”
“Fuck, another weirdo.”
Seo-Jun doesn’t bother with introductions, instead, she writes her name on the board and makes her way to her assigned seat without saying another word.
Though she did avoid one guy’s super obvious foot blocking her way.
Before he could make a fuss, she sent a threatening look at him, basically telling him to shut up and not bother her if he wants to live.
Like an obedient child, he shrinks away from the ominous aura and looks sideways.
Seo-Jun heard whispers of awe and nervousness spread like an epidemic, and she’s already sick of it.
The only reason she chose this shitty school was because it was so bad with gangs and drugs that it’s easy to hide behind these meat shields.
Normalcy isn’t easy, as desirable it was.
But Seo-Jun is more than ready to do what it takes for others to leave her alone and defend herself when times come.
After all, isn’t that what her parents' education is for?
“Hey. Get up.” Seo-Jun looks up from her phone and sees three large boys staring down at her with sneering expressions.
She could already tell this was going to be a headache.
“You, did you bully my junior? On your first day? You want to die?”
“Kneel and apologize if you don’t want to get punched by our King, Zack!” Following their gestures. Seo-Jun shifted her sight to the tall man sitting with his feet on the desk.
“Yea, Zack is a boxer!”
So what if he’s a boxer?
Seo-Jun simply pushes herself up, and pushes them aside despite their disbelief.
She doesn’t have time to deal with them.
“Oi. How dare you ignore us!?” Seo-Jun turned around swiftly and easily dodged their juvenile punches before tripping them over her leg.
She doesn’t spare them another look, and instead turns back to the exit, ignoring the whispers.
“Hey! You! Stop right there.” Just as she stopped, she leaned back slightly to barely dodge the powerful punch from a boxer.
But she wasn’t fazed, instead, she spun around and swiped her feet at the boxer’s leg. Although the boxer did try to defend, she was faster due to throwing the man off guard.
In the next moment, she narrowly dodged a quick punch to her chin and swiped the boxer off his feet.
Zack promptly ended up on his butt as Seo-Jun didn’t wait to witness his existential crisis and immediately left the room that erupted into chaos a few seconds later.
Seo-Jun hates her life, did she mention it before?
It’s only been a few days and she’s sick of everything.
At home, Carlos will be there.
At school, Zack and his little minions are stalking her, and now, other “gangster-wanna-bes” want to fight with her.
Especially Vin Jin the wanna-be rapper, and…Vasco? What strange people with strange names.
Also Eli the rainbow man, and Daniel, the new transfer that came in that also conveniently humiliated Zack, so now he has a vendetta against the both of us.
But did Daniel have to look at her with those disgusting puppy eyes?
What did she even do? Not bother him like everyone else?
She doesn’t recall anything that would catch his attention…nevermind, it’s not worth her time.
It’s annoying.
That’s why she immediately left school and found a convenient store to eat for now. The one near her house, so she goes there often.
She quickly grabs what she needs, and scares the living shit out of the stupid bullies asking for alcohol with a single glare like usual, before paying her due.
“T-Thank you.” Seo-Jun doesn’t answer, simply nods at the overweight cashier before finding a small table to sit at.
Shoving snacks down her throat while fulfilling her quota for the month is hard as usual, but it doesn’t stop her from finishing some work.
She chews on her bread while she quickly hacks into a famous company's security system and exiting before she is caught.
After cutting all ends loose, she takes a deep breath while she sips on her 5th cup of coffee of the day.
Work done as requested by her parents and…
“Jun?”
“What do you want?” She whispered, and withheld a smile.
“Don’t be so mean to your oppa. He might get hurt easily.”
“Shut up.” She answered crudely even if she didn't want to.
“Alright, I’ll treat you to a meal once they stop watching you as often. It’s been a while. But, before we do, can you help your oppa do some things? Just the usual.”
“Don’t contact me.” His gruff laugh is full of guilt and melancholy, all of which is familiar yet unfortunate, but Seo-Jun doesn’t act out of character.
For herself and for her brother.
She endures and endures.
“I knew I could rely on you.”
She hangs up and shuts her laptop before packing up her stuff.
When she arrives at the front, the cashier is looking at some snacks with funny eyes, as if he’s debating whether to devour the entire rack of snacks or not.
So she simply grabs what he’s staring intently at, and buys it with her own money, before pushing it towards him and leaving despite the confusion.
Why is she doing this? Because this cashier has let her work in peace at the back many a times, she’s simply returning the favour.
“Can I at least get your name!?” He yells out.
Seo-Jim chooses to ignore his question and simply replies.
“Take it or leave it.”
She didn’t stay to see the thankful, and tearful eyes from the cashier.
“If you beat me in arm-wrestling, I will leave you alone.”
When Vasco made that preposition, Seo-Jun agreed after some consideration.
If she wins, while she gains popularity, but at least this boss man won’t bother her with his minions for a bit. If she loses, everyone will eventually forget about her.
While both are equally tempting, she chooses the most ideal solution that benefits her life.
With a nod, she prepares herself.
“Take off your hood.”
“It won’t affect the outcome.” She says, and ignores all the background trash talk behind her.
“Don’t regret it.”
If there is anything she knows about Vasco, it’s that this guy is stupidly naive and pure-hearted.
The type she dislikes the most.
When they clasp hands, she felt Vasco tense for a brief moment, as if coming to a realization, but he gathered his wits and gripped firmly.
“You are a man?”
“What do you think?” Seo-Jun calmly replied before Jace, the monkey right-hand man of Vasco starts to count down.
“3, 2, 1, Go!”
In an instant, the desk began to shake from the sheer pressure it was under.
“What?! He’s matching Vasco in strength!”
“No way! It’s equal! Both of them aren’t budging!”
“Go Vasco! You got this!”
It’s…disappointing really.
“No! Vasco is losing?!”
She chose to win.
Why? Not only does Vasco leave her alone, his crew and other people who fear Vasco will leave her alone.
Furthermore, knowing Vasco’s personality, he will not rest until she showed him what he wanted and will bug her forever, saying that she didn’t use her full strength.
Not that she did anyway.
Compared to fighting Carlos…this is nothing.
Just like that Seo-Jun slammed Vasco’s down firmly, locked and secured, as she looked at Jace for confirmation. Jace coughed nervously in shock, but them recovered promptly and declared.
“The winner is Lee Seo-Jun.”
She immediately withdrew her hand and shook off her hand to relax her muscles. She glances at the shocked man before standing up.
“Then, keep your promise, Vasco.” Just like that she leaves again, and sighing as she hears the rumour spread loud and wide.
At least they’ll leave her alone.
At this point, she’s not surprised.
“You, fight me.”
Lee Seo-Jun was not even close to them, in fact, once she saw them she turned the opposite way. But no, she got noticed.
What is with her shitty luck?!
With Daniel, Vasco, the daughter of a rich family and her bodyguard, Seo-Jun knew things would not go her way.
“Lee Seo-Jun. The CEO talked about you.”
“Gun, you mean this person is-”
“Yea, this guy here is the one the CEO told us to look into.”
Oh? Now that Seo-Jun thought about it, this girl here, she thought she saw her before, isn’t she the daughter of Choi Charles, the CEO of HNH?
Then this man must be…ah, Park Gun? What a cringe name.
Looks like hacking into their system was beneficial for both her and her brother.
“Either come with us willingly, or you fight me.” Gun said as he took large strides towards her.
She first looked for a way out, but appearantly Gun guessed the same and is more than ready to stop her if necessary.
“First to cause the other to fall to the ground wins. I don’t have time.”
So she takes the lead. If she can’t run, she might as well fight.
A smirk rose on his face as he towers over her.
“Alright, the faster the better.”
“Wait Lee Seo-Jun, that guy is strong.” Vasco states and looks concerned. Seo-Jim glances at him briefly and noticed that he was quite injured.
Although his concern was unwarranted.
“Let’s get on with it then.”
When the fight started, Seo-Jun noticed how Gun’s bored look slowly morphed to one of excitement and ecstasy.
“You…where have you been hiding!?”
Seo-Jun has done some research in the man before, so she has a broad idea of how he fights. She admits he’s stronger than many of her opponents she fought before.
But she fought and trained herself too much during her education to be defeated or fazed by this half naked man.
“Very good! Lee Seo-Jun! Show me more-“
“You're annoying.”
So when she does smash his face down to the ground after some difficulty and getting multiple injuries herself, she ensures he stays down by trapping him and landing solid punches on his face.
Until Crystal tells her to stop.
“It’s your win.”
Seo-Jun lets go and jumps back immediately after Gun recovers almost instantly. His eyes were pitch black and he wore a giant smirk on his face.
“Lee Seo-Jun! You…You are a girl?!” Daniel and Vasco exclaimed and flushed red.
Seo-Jun blinks and notices that her clothing had been ripped in the process, revealing some parts of her scarred body, from her bruised abs to her bloodied toned shoulders and scarred legs.
"What...Lee Seo-Jun, where did you get those injuries?!" Daniel ran over in worry.
"None of your business."
It was then she noticed her hood has fallen off due to the impact of Gun's punches, and her mask was ripped off in the fight.
What a shame.
Seo-Jun wasn’t flustered, at least she had her undergarments on and was still functional.
The only thing now is that she can't pose as a boy anymore, unless she silence these people, which she doubts.
“Very good. To think you were the daughter of Lee Company…they were hiding you in Lee Suho’s shadow too well.” Gun applauded as he put his shoulder back to place. He finally puts on his glasses to cover his eyes.
Seo-Jun brushed off any excess dirt and dust and then sent a dark look to the rich duo before walking away.
“Let’s have a complete fight one day, Lee Seo-Jun.” Seo-Jun jumped aside instinctively when someone’s coat was thrown at her. Gun smirked and she returned a disgusted look before ignoring the expensive jacket on the ground.
“Wait Seo-Jun, you can’t go back looking like that!”
“Seo-Jun. You are a strong girl.”
With Daniel fussing over her appearance, she ended up taking his jacket and had to bear Vasco’s determined look for the rest of the school day as they wouldn’t leave her alone.
So much for normalcy huh.
Seo-Jun enjoyed her temporary peaceful life, but now she’s far gone, with gangs, companies, and the world knowing her name.
Dammit Gun.

Hello, you can probably already assume what I want to roleplay, but YES! I want to roleplay EXO, the Kpop boy band :D
I do want to do the 11 members because I miss Luhan and Tao.. (Fuck Kris.) so yes! I want to be able to roleplay them as well :0
I also want to do something like regarding their debut MV “Mama” because I find it very interesting, and I want to go further into the lore of their symbols and stuff :)
I also have another plot idea of like EXO x oc (B or G doesn't matter), but I do want to do that !!
I ALSO WANT TO DO A PLOT ABOUT X-EXO BECAUSE I LOVE THEM SO MUCH 😭.
But I'm pretty much open for anything, so don't be afraid to tell me :d or suggest things
______
Anyways, the rules are pretty simple.
No one-liners
I love to conversate outside of roleplay and talk about our roleplay or etc :D
No scat or anything like vomit (HEAVILY DESCRIBED)
Please communicate with me and don't randomly ghost me 💀
Uhh, I think that is all? It is just common sense for my rules. XD
Uh, I don't have any triggers besides Scat and Heavily described vomit!!
Oh, my writing style is third person, and I'm semi advanced to advanced, not quite novella.. I don't think?? But to be honest, I get hyped a lot, so my paragraphs tend to get larger
Also, ships are welcomed, obviously!!
(I love Chanbaek or Baekyeol the most!)
_____
My muses will be marked with 🌹
Baekhyun (❤️🔥 Ahem..)
Suho
Xiumin (🌹)
Luhan (🌹)

<3 Hello, I am looking for an active roleplay partner who can write minimum of 3 paragraphs per roleplay message (if you want to write more then that's cool with me). I'd prefer if the roleplay partner was considered advanced literate. I prefer to roleplay over on discord by making a private server to keep things organised and of course if needed will include Tupper too. Please do not use AI when roleplaying with me. I am 20 years old and I hope we can write something amazing together!
Timezone is GMT+0 (BST+1) and accept all timezones as I tend to stay up until 3am. Bare in mind that I have uni so sometimes I may end up replying within 2 days or something (don't worry I will let you know about that. Please be okay with age gaps. Please be aged 18+. (I do not mind if you're like 20, 25 or older than that) Be comfortable with roleplaying against a Female OC (not self-insert). Looking for someone who can portray a male character. (MxF) I am not comfortable doing double ups. Preferred pairing is OC x Canon. Will mention triggers in messages, please do the same. I am 20 years old and I hope we can write something amazing together.
Bound to Happen
Genre: EXO AU, Junmyeon fluff
Characters: Junmyeon x Female Reader
Warning(s): None
Word Count: 3k
Summary: Professor Kim Junmyeon has a crush–a crush on the newest addition to the history department. Taking fate into their own hands, some light-fingered students make it their mission to get these two together.
A/N: I’m almost done with requests from back in June so I present a Junmyeon request. I’m not even going to pretend that Junmyeon’s legendary “Playboy” solo performance wasn’t the inspiration for this fic, despite it being fluff central up in here. Hope you enjoy!
Tagging @cxsmicmyeon because I promised! 😊
~*~
Neon lights flashed. Pins scattered. Balls crashed down waxed, wooden lanes. The smell of pizza intermingled with the tang of floor polish.
The neon lights glared off the shiny, waxed floors of the bowling alley and Junmyeon was accosted by the intermingling smells of pizza and floor polish–a stark contrast to his usual habitat. The harsh lines and dark wooden panels of the lecture hall have vanished and in their place, an 80’s-reminiscent wonderland remains. Buttery leather shoes traded for rubber soles, the hum of student voices for the whir of the ball machine. This wasn’t the type of place Junmyeon usually frequented, much more accustomed to mood lighting and a crisp, fine wine.
It was the start of a new school year, which was marked as per usual, with a department-wide celebration encompassing both research faculty of the university’s history department, as well as their student lab workers. His department head was an avid bowler, which was precisely how Junmyeon found himself bowling in a three-piece suit and clown shoes.
A voice shouted his name and a hand beckoned him forward to take a ball. His sometimes most and sometimes least favorite graduate student, Sehun, plopped a ball into his hands with a wink, and pushed him towards the front. The little punk. Junmyeon made a mental note to assign Sehun to cleaning duty next week. After all, the archives had been looking extra dusty lately.
Looking around, he noticed the number of faces that had gathered to watch the game. He wanted to maintain his reputation–respected, dependable, and worthy of admiration–and vowed he won’t lose that by sucking at bowling. You can do this, Jun. Strength. Poise. Precision. With that in mind, he straightened his arm and swung it back, releasing the ball down the waxed, wooden lane.
It went…and went…and went…straight into the gutter. Not quite.
Junmyeon stood there in shock, not really believing he launched his ball exactly the opposite of where it was supposed to go. The hooting and hollering of the onlookers reached his ears and he turned around, feeling heat on the back of his neck. Sehun chose this time to tell a particularly biting joke, causing Junmyeon to blush profusely.
I guess he wants two weeks of cleaning duty, he mused to himself, leveling the taller man with a half-hearted glare.
In the middle of stewing, he almost missed the breezy laugh that made its way to his ears, the slew of voices behind him quieting to a low buzz. He watched as a woman stepped forward, walking with confidence to snare a ball from the machine. He tried not to stare, but couldn't help himself, frozen in place like he’d been turned to stone.
Pushing her hair behind her ear, she toyed with the little baby hairs at the crown of her head to keep them out of her eyes. Her cheeks were flushed an enchanting rosy pink, from the heat or from one too many beers, he didn’t know.
As he passed her on his way to sit down, she patted his arm gently. A jolt of electricity ran through his body, the sting of humiliation temporarily forgotten.
“Hey, don’t worry about it. We all throw a gutter ball once in a while,” she sympathized, offering him a smile that made his heart skip a beat.
Without conscious thought, he found himself nodding in agreement to her words, flashing her a gummy smile so wide it hurt his cheeks. He took a seat beside his colleague, Minseok, AKA the other Professor Kim, who grinned and slapped him on the back, clearly amused at his lack of athletic prowess.
Junmyeon watched as the mystery woman took position.
Like a seasoned pro, she took several intentional steps forward and swung her arm back, like the movement of a pendulum. She released the ball low, holding her position as the ball barreled down the lane with impressive speed. A perfect shot. The pins fell, clattering to the ground, before being swept back by a metal arm. Animated bowling pins danced all over the scoring screen, declaring “Strike! Strike!” in chipmunk-like voices.
“Who is that?” he breathed, leaning over to whisper in Minseok’s ear.
Minseok raised an eyebrow, surprised at Junmyeon’s sudden interest.
“Her? That’s Professor____ ____, the newest tenure-track hire in our department. Heard she came here over the summer from some big-shot university abroad. Boss’s excited because she’s apparently gained a reputation as “The Grant Fairy”, and you know how much he loves additional funding.”
Junmyeon nodded, but he barely heard what his friend was saying, too caught up in his newest colleague’s radiant smile and silly celebration dance. A strange sense of pride washed over him as you sank ball after ball in just the right spot. His skin prickled when you reached up to high-five the other, other Professor Kim, Ki-bum, beaming up at him in a way that made something inside Junmyeon twist.
It wasn’t rational. Not rational at all to feel this way about something he’d only just met. And Junmyeon lived by facts and figures. True or false. Black and white, but never gray. He fleetingly wondered if this rollercoaster of emotions was caused by excessive consumption of alcohol, but then quickly remembered he’d been drinking club soda all night. Sadly, no wine to be found in a place like this.
~*~
A smirk crossed Sehun’s handsome features. Watching Professor Kim Junmyeon lose his mind over the department’s newest addition was the unexpected highlight of the evening. As by-the-book as they came, the older man has little tolerance for the times–the very, very minimal times–that he’d caught Sehun filming Tik Tok dances during work hours. He scratched his chin, sure that a romantic diversion such as this might loosen the older man up for the greater good. Having worked in his lab for several years, Sehun considered himself an expert on the illustrious academic’s quirks and characteristics. Unfortunately, where Junmyeon was smooth with a pen, he wasn’t smooth with words, at least outside of a lecture hall, that is.
The cogs in Sehun’s brain started to turn, and a plan took shape behind his eyes. Sehun couldn’t help but pat himself on the back for having such a brilliant idea. Slipping off unnoticed from the party, he shot off text messages to his future accomplices. This wasn’t a one-man job, but rather a collaboration, one might say. All he had to do was sit back and watch as the fun began.
~*~
“Okay, let’s go through this one more time, Jun,” Minseok instructed, pulling Junmyeon over to face the mirror. “You walk into her office and you say…”
“Hello Professor ___. I was…um…wondering if you wanted to…go out for dinner sometime?” Junmyeon stared at himself in the mirror, feeling awkward–like a high school student nervously practicing a confession to the girl he likes while hiding in the boys’ bathroom.
Minseok hung his head in mock shame. “Say it with confidence, Jun! Again–and like you really mean it this time!”
Junmyeon tried once more, feeling silly. He spoke passionately and eloquently to hundreds of students everyday, so why now was it so hard to string a simple sentence together?
Minseok was speaking, but Jun could barely hear him–his mind elsewhere–on you.
Picking up the leather-bound book on the table, he ran his fingers over the slight grooves in the spine. It was this simple, non-assuming object that had started it all.
The air had been heavy with anticipation, as it always was at 3:30 PM on a Friday. His students were preoccupied, thinking only of the Netflix they’d binge, the pizza they’d demolish, and the alcoholic beverages they’d consume–much too distracted to appreciate his riveting lecture on the intricacies of black holes.
The bell had rung and he’d sent them off with a reminder to complete their homework, unheeded in their haste to depart. In the still silence of the empty lecture hall, he’d noticed an abandoned book on one of the desks–no doubt forgotten by an absent-minded student in the flurry of activity moments before.
Opening to the cover, he hadn’t expected to find your name scrawled in the corner, but to his surprise, there it was. Since that day, the book has taken up residence in his office. He’d enjoyed having it with him and he often caught himself glancing at it, smiling like a giddy school boy because it reminded him of you. But he knew he had to give it back–it wouldn’t be right to keep something that wasn’t his. It was this unassuming object that would give him the excuse to talk to you–at least beyond the occasional exchange of words in the hall or at the coffee pot in the teacher’s lounge.
“ –so then you…Junmyeon!” Minseok cut off mid-sentence, impatiently waving his hand in front of Junmyeon’s face.
Junmyeon apologized for his lack of focus, grateful Minseok’s as forgiving as he was. Not just any friend would give up his afternoon to talk him through how to be smooth with the ladies. And Minseok was smooth with the ladies. The other Professor Kim had zero inhibitions when it came to romantic partners–suave, well-dressed, and always ready with a witty comeback–Minseok was never without someone adorning his arm.
Junmyeon wished he could have even half that amount of confidence.
~*~
The light glowing from your office drew Junmyeon like a moth to a flame. It was way past the usual time he’d leave from work, but lately he found more and more reasons to stay. Light drifting out from under your door? Term papers to read. Passed by you in the hall on his way out? Oops, those tests needed to be graded tonight.
Today was no different, the moon shining high in the sky as Junmyeon made his daily pilgrimage to you, the leather tome he’d harbored uncharacteristically heavy in his hands. Standing outside your door, Junmyeon’s nerves flared. He practiced this over and over with Minseok and he told himself it would all be okay. He raised his hand to knock on the door, knowing it was now or never or he'd lose his nerve. Your voice sounded from within, spurring him forward and through the door.
~*~
You looked at the clock, shocked to see the hours had passed so quickly. It had been several weeks since you started your position here and you finally felt like you had some space to breathe. It was a big change leaving your old job, but you could happily say now that it was worth it. This job provided you with things you didn’t have before–a team of student researchers of your own, a promise of tenure, and the type of salary that would keep you traveling for years to come. Your colleagues had been welcoming too, and your mind wandered to one in particular. Dark hair, slightly curled at the end, bright eyes, and pretty, pink lips. They looked so soft and you wondered if they’d feel that way against your–
A knock sounded at the door and the spell was broken. You shook your head, reminding yourself to keep it out of the gutter. You called for them to enter, wondering who could possibly still be at school at this late hour.
The door opened and in walked the man you’d just been fantasizing about not 30 seconds before. You rubbed your eyes, wanting to make sure this wasn’t some kind of sleep deprivation-induced fantasy. But no, he was still there when your gaze cleared, a small smile on his handsome face, and looking better than anyone had a right to in a three-piece brown tweed suit.
Your cheeks warmed in response and you hoped it wasn’t obvious to him. Yes, you had a crush, as much as you didn’t want to admit it. All the signs were there: heartbeat racing when you ran into him in the hallway, sweaty palms when you exchanged pleasantries in the break room, thoughts of him swimming in your head at all hours of the day. You remembered the night you met him, some weeks ago at the welcome party. He’d just sent the ball straight to the gutter, but you’d barely noticed, too enchanted by his expressive eyes and squishy smile.
From then on you’d thought about ways to approach him. Unsatisfied with all of them, you wished you were more extroverted, then maybe you wouldn’t even need a reason to talk to him. You could just do it. You supposed your introversion was a contributing factor to your choice in career; after all, not everyone would be thrilled to spend their time digging through dusty libraries, pouring over antique books and documents in the pursuit of answering a question you’d dedicated your entire career to answering. You had settled for staying late at work, the light in his office your guide for when it was time to leave.
Now, seeing Junmyeon here amongst your things, you thanked the universe for this divine intervention. Gesturing for him to take a seat, noted the familiar book he clutched in his hands. An awkward silence fell over the room and you waited for him to say something, anything to drown out the thump, thump, thump of your beating heart.
“Good evening, Prof. ____. I hope I’m not interrupting anything, but I…uh…found this book of yours and wanted to return it. In case you were really missing it.”
He laid the book on your desk, pushing it towards you, chuckling at the last bit.
“Ah yes, thank you Prof. Kim, I have been looking for that everywhere. Where–uh–ever did you find it?”
You, in fact, hadn’t been looking for it everywhere, but you decided he didn’t need to know that. To be honest, you hadn’t even noticed it was gone. However, you were curious how it came into his possession. You had just moved into your office, but all your books had been packed away in boxes until recently.
Junmyeon cleared his throat.
“Honestly, it was the strangest thing. I found it left on a desk after I’d finished one of my lectures. I was surprised to find it belonged to you.”
“Hmmm, that is strange,” you agreed, scratching your chin in thought. “Well, thank you again for returning it…” you trailed off, blindly scrounging for a way to make the conversation last longer.
“Yeah, no problem at all, just happy I could help.”
Junmyeon slowly got up from his chair and headed toward the door. He paused at the threshold, staring at you like he had something to say. He shook his head, causing dark locks to spill across his forehead, and resumed motion.
“Well, Professor ____, I guess I should go now. It was lovely talking to you.”
With that, he opened the door and quickly stepped through it, the door closing behind him with a gentle thump.
You stared at the door for several seconds after he’d gone, wishing you’d had the spine to say what you really wanted to say. Hey, you want to go for coffee sometime? It’s not that hard, right? Right! You could have said that instead of just saying “thank you” a hundred times!
You sighed and grabbed your book, the one Professor Kim had been so kind to return. Stroking the soft leather, you went to your bookshelf, placing it at home amongst the many others there. Behind you, the door creaked, causing you to jump in surprise. You whirled around to find Professor Kim standing there, his mouth set in a firm line.
“Oh, Professor Kim, you scared me!” you said, patting your hand over your chest in an attempt to calm your racing heart.
“My apologies Professor ____, but I couldn’t just leave without saying–couldn’t just leave without asking–”
Professor Kim took a deep breath through his nose before continuing: “ –if you wanted to go out sometime. Coffee…maybe dinner…whatever you want.”
He bit his lip before glancing down at his shoes, that bashful squishy smile gracing his handsome features again.
You stuck your finger under your nose, just to check that you were still breathing. The hand still over your heart assured you of its beating. Oh my god. It’s real. He’s asked you out on a date! Say something, you idiot!
“Coffee…maybe dinner…sounds good,” you said with a small smile. Good, yeah, that’s good. Very natural.
Junmyeon scratched his head. “Oh–okay, well that’s great…uh…when are you free? I mean, I’m free now…are you free now?” he asked, stumbling over his words.
You smiled at his endearing nervousness, so much like your own. “Yeah, I’m free now…should we…?” you trailed off, raising your eyebrows in question, nodding towards the door.
You grabbed your coat, struggling to put it on as you’d suddenly forgotten how arms work. Professor Kim–Junmyeon–as he told you to call him, held it out for you to slip your arms into. You walked together down the deserted hallway towards the Java Hut, which was blessedly open late, and you wanted to hug the universe for giving you this opportunity.
“Hey, Junmyeon?” you started, waiting for him to look at you. “After this, would you want to go bowling sometime?”
You watched as a range of emotions poured over Junmyeon’s face–embarrassment, surprise, to name a few–his shooting wide like saucers. You honestly couldn’t hold it in anymore, the look on his face was too much for you to bear, and you dissolved into a fit of giggles. Even in the dark, you could see Junmyeon’s cheeks darken to an attractive hue of pink, evidence that he wasn’t used to being teased like this.
“No shade, no tea, but I feel with a few pointers, there could be vast improvement,” you joked.
Junmyeon purses his lips, stroking his chin in mock thought.
“Well, I suppose I could be persuaded to go bowling–with the right coach, that is.”
~*~
Two sets of eyes watched silently as you and Junmyeon exited the building. Sehun held out his hand and high-fived Baekhyun, his partner in crime. It was a genius plan, really, though Baekhyun had almost gotten caught “borrowing” that book from Professor____’s office. Sure, it had taken Professor Kim several annoyingly long weeks to work up the nerve to return the book to its rightful owner and Sehun would be claiming all that over-time on his next paycheck, but it was worth it. He patted himself on the back for a job well-done, not for the first time considering a change in careers to match-making.

Condensation clings to the large glass panels overlooking the quiet street outside. Not many shoppers are left out this late. Most people buy what they need earlier in the day, earlier in the month. It’s a rare night in December when a client comes in near closing time, and no one knows this better than the gallery curator. Waiting for the clock to chime thrice so she can lock the doors and head home, she clicks through some emails and memos, passing the time with easy tasks while her mind wanders.
The last few months have been a nightmare. Some nouveau riche yuppie had acquired the gallery, effectively turning her life upside down with no effort or concern on his part. Like a storm rolling in off the coast, he barged into the gallery with a cold fire and too much ambition. He painted his vision out in vivid detail, leaving no room for errors or deviations. It had been their first meeting and Ana wished it was their last.
With half a mind to quit on the spot, she struggled to remain calm as he turned his attention to the gallery’s focal point. ‘Out of fashion’ and ‘tacky’, he said, disgust colouring him grey. ‘A crime against humanity,’ he added before giving her her first task as his official employee: find a piece that represents the flare of the business.
It wasn’t hard but it most definitely was painful. The piece he wanted removed was her favourite and already served the purpose he demanded from the new 'modern, sleek and futuristic' sculpture he had his eyes set on. 143, however, wasn’t out of season (art is eternal, after all) and it was far from tacky. The price tag it carried was no joke and yet he insisted it be put in storage until the time was right for a resurgence, when it’s beauty would shine again.
Or in other words he shelved it. He had shelved a masterpiece and all she could do was smile at her new boss, too dependent on her paycheck to rock the boat.
That was the start of the issues. They continue now even to this day, to this very moment in fact as a chilly breeze gushes through the room. With a soft jingle, the door announces seconds too late the arrival of one Kim Junmyeon. With confidence abound, he strides straight toward the counter where Ana sits, her eyes narrowing in on him and his dazzling grin.
“I’m glad I caught you in time.”
“I’m not.”
“I need your help. I know you asked for tomorrow off, but there’s a pi-”
“No way.”
“What?”
“No. I’m busy tomorrow. I can’t make it.”
“Fine. I’ll pay you overtime.”
“No. Really, Junymyeon, I can’t.”
“Be reasonable. Time and a half and you can leave after, have the rest of the day off.”
“It’s a once in a lifetime sort of thing,” Ana sighs, logging out of her account and shutting the computer down. “Can’t you reschedule, or do it yourself?”
“Double time and a half?” Like a shark sniffing out blood in the water, he zeroes in what he knows she can’t refuse. The tension in his body releases as her own grows. He’s got her right where he wants her. “I’ll triple your regular pay.”
He knows he’s won before she even responds. “Fine. Text me the details.”
It’s a double-edged sword. Life, that is. One must work in order to afford, say, tickets to Kyungsoo’s concerts, or to perhaps buy new merchandise as it drops, but then one simply doesn’t have the time nor energy to attend such events. If one makes time to, say, attend Kyungsoo’s one-on-one virtual fan meeting or a hi touch, then one’s boss is liable to dangle a fat stack of cash in front of said fan.
This bonus could go much, much further than seeing Kyungsoo up close at the airport as he arrives home from his overseas promotions… but Ana hasn’t missed an opportunity to get crystal clear photos of her favourite idol since she became a fan. Sure, making sure he arrives home well is important, but buying all the merchandise that will drop in a few months from his next comeback plus getting tickets to all the local events takes precedence. Ana needs this job and if that means missing him arriving at the airport, then that’s what she (reluctantly) has to do.
“Ana?” Junmyeon’s smooth voice cuts through her thoughts. “If it’d be easier, we can go now.” He waves his phone before her as if it holds the secret to the world. “I just checked and they’re still in.”
Now? Much before Kyungsoo’s flight, leaving plenty of time to see him tomorrow?
“Okay!” At his affronted expression, she tries to laugh it off. “I mean, sure. Now fits in much better with my personal schedule, if it works with yours?”
“Wouldn’t have asked if it didn’t.” He smirked, gesturing to the door. “After you.”
“What a gentleman.” Ana rolls her eyes but walks ahead. “So tell me more about this piece.”
What should have been a simple pick-up is quick to turn into an all night neverending nightmare (inside the nightmare she is always in, a nightmare inception if you will). The seller said they’d be in the northern warehouses but they were late. Then it turned out they’re a middleman anyhow, and weren’t privy to important details. They didn’t even know that the piece had been moved back to the Busan branch! So the duo had to take a detour to Busan… but upon Junmyeon’s purchase of the artwork, the Busan branch manager had sent it to Seoul for ease of transport to his gallery. After waiting for the transit team to arrive, the paperwork needed to be finalized before the painting could be handed off.
And now it’s the wee hours of the morning and there’s a road block. A semi-truck with hundreds of cartons of soda toppled over going too fast around a corner and now it’s everyone’s problem. Police lights blast into the Benz on a loop of maddening brightness. It’s enough to make one snap, especially if one has plans in a few hours and has yet to get a wink of sleep. Then there’s the thick silence between Ana and Junmyeon. It’s palpable, but more so it’s suffocating.
He senses it too, his eyes shifting from the road to his companion. “You should get some sleep."
“The lights are too bright.”
“I’m sorry for dragging you out here like this.”
Painted in shades of blue and red, she smiles at him, and he wonders if it’s the first genuine smile he’s received from her. “It’s okay. It sucks right now, but it’s an experience. Experiences are important.”
“The piece is one of a kind, too.”
“It’s not,” she sighs, shaking her head. “You can’t say that’s good after shelving 143.”
“What?” Laughing, he shifts in his seat to get a better look at her. “You’re still upset about 143? It’s old news. You have to move on, and this is the perfect piece to heal that wound.”
“Should I schedule you in for an appointment with an optometrist?”
“Should I give you a bonus and hire you as my assistant?”
“Might as well. I already do half the job, and I never say no to more money.”
“Why do you need so much money all the time anyway? Should I be worried a loan shark is going to trash the gallery one day?”
“Ha ha,” Ana enunciates, shaking her head before looking out the window. “It’s nothing. I just like to buy things.”
He hums but doesn’t comment further, focusing on the road as they finally pass the obstruction and break back into a speedy pace. With the lighting returning to the dull yellow of the occasional overhead street lamp, serenity falls over the car. Warm air exhales into the vast space between them, pumping through the miniature heaters and filling the vehicle with a haze of comfort. Even the seats are powered by technology, heated to the perfect degree yet still cushioned like a pillow. It’s the perfect environment for a nap…
A quick, disconcerting nap.
Jolting forward in her seat, Ana awakens with a start. Aches threaten to burst outward from her back and neck but she ignores the pain in favour of opening the car door and stumbling into a parking garage. There’s a throbbing in her head from where she continually bumped it against the window on last night’s drive. Every joint and muscle is catching up to the awkward position she slept in and the state of her body could be summed up in just a word: sore.
Despite it all, she pushes forward toward the elevator, hand cradling her head and eyes as she adjusts to being awake. There’s a part of her that wishes she stayed in the safety of the car and another that knows Junmyeon expects her to stay in the car, but the only thing on her mind is getting to the airport. Even if she can’t get to her camera in time, she can at least make sure Kyungsoo arrives in Seoul safely. As a fan, it’s the least she can do.
Except the button isn’t activating and the elevator isn’t being summoned.
“What the?”
“You need a key."
“Really? How do I leave then?”
“With a key.”
“So I’m stuck down here?”
“How’d you get in?”
“My bo-”
The words die in her throat before she can finish the sentence. Standing behind her is no other than Kyungsoo. The idol Kyungsoo, in the flesh. His clothes are casual but trendy, much like one would expect from an airport look - comfortable but still chic. There’s an underlying messiness to his hair that has been covered with a quick style. Large, indifferent eyes meet her widening ones. Is she dreaming? This cannot be real. And yet this is the exact expression she had imagined him having if a fan appeared outside his home unannounced and unwelcomed.
“Thank you for being my fan. I really appreciate the gifts you give at the fan meetings and the photos you take are really nice. But you know this is going too far. My home is my personal space.”
And the nightmare expands into her hobby, consuming the last flecks of her sanity as the most photogenic idol recognises his most devoted fan.
“I know,” Ana blurts out, embarrassment itching at her ears. “I’m not a sa-”
Before she can plead her case, the elevator doors open. Air hisses outward and a soft breeze follows. In the well-lit box, Junmyeon looks like an angel. His hair is tousled and there’s a hint of weariness near his eyes, yet he’s as suave as ever and charisma oozes off him even when he’s silent. Ana’s mouth drops at the raw appeal he possesses, and then it drops even further at the fact she noticed how handsome her boss is in a situation like this.
Stepping off the metal platform and into her personal space, he winks before looking back at Kyungsoo. His aura is magnetic and Ana finds herself pulled into orbit, gravitating around her saviour and the plan she’s formulated to salvage her reputation.
“Junmyeon!” she blurts out before he has a chance to speak, a forced smile tugging at the edges of her lips. “I was… lonely… in the car?”
“Were you?” he asks, confusion upticking one of his eyebrows. “Did you get a chance to meet my neighbour?”
“You two know each other?”
The situation is deteriorating fast. Kyungsoo is dubious at best. At worst, he thinks she’s a total psycho fan that stalked him from the airport. She needs to regain control before Kyungsoo thinks the worst of her.
“She wo-”
Cutting Junmyeon off once again, Ana faces Kyungsoo and, in the face of such a catastrophe, lies through her teeth. “Boyfriend. We’re dating. Which is why I’m here. At his home. Totally into each other.”
“Really?” Kyungsoo’s voice is tainted with doubt and his eyes are wide as he looks between the ‘couple’. “I mean, that’s great, bro. So this must be the infamous Ana?”
“Hmm?” Junmyeon coughs, shaking his head at Kyungsoo who in turns mouths, ‘not her?’.
“I am indeed Ana, and I’m so glad we could clear this whole thing up. We should get going.”
“I only have more questions now,” Kyungsoo murmurs but stands aside, allowing the other two to brush past him and walk to their car.
Once inside the safety of metal and glass, they turned to each other with accusatory fingers.
“Boyfriend? What was that?”
“He thought I was trying to break in! What about-”
“And you couldn’t just tell the truth?”
“No! Because… it doesn’t matter! Why are you talking about me to your neighbour?”
“‘It doesn’t matter’,” he counters, turning the car on. “I dropped the piece off here so we wouldn’t need t-”
“Don’t change the subject, Junmyeon. It’s not healthy to keep things bottled up.”
“Likewise.”
Most of their conversations for the next few weeks followed that same pattern of childish chiding and refusal to acknowledge the elephants in the room. Due to the small white lie, Ana found herself being dragged out more often to events but not as his trusty curator with immaculate taste, but as Junmyeon’s date. To make matters worse, it wasn’t even hard to fall into the role - being his plus one felt natural and most of the time she wasn’t even acting. In fact, she found herself enjoying his company and even his horrible jokes.
One time Kyungsoo came to the gallery and Ana struggled to keep her private fangirl life to herself. His every other sentence threatened to give her away. It was only a matter of time before her secret came out and it seemed Kyungsoo was living for it. While it should have been a dream come true to spend so much time with her beloved idol, she was becoming quite accustomed to working with Junmyeon and didn’t want anything to jeopardise that.
That, of course, didn’t mean she couldn’t still be an avid fan. Even though Junmyeon is clever and Kyungsoo is sly, she could circumvent them both and as a super fan, she of course had to go to the hi touch. It was her duty as the owner, or dare she say curator (perhaps she’s spending too much time with Junmyeon), of one of Kyungsoo’s most popular fansites. If she didn’t go her reputation would be tarnished, and it’s already in a decline after having missed the airport arrival. What she wasn’t expecting, however, was Kyungsoo to acknowledge her.
“Are you treating Junmyeon well?”
“Huh?” Dumbfounded, her hands faltered.
“He’s like a brother to me. Please treat him well.”
“I will. Am. I am.”
“He’s loved you for a long time, so please don’t hurt him.”
Gulping down the thick stone forming in her throat, Ana nodded. This whole situation is liable to be hurting him. Thankfully Kyungsoo moved on, leaving her to reflect on the mess she’s created.
Two weeks passed in a blink of an eye. Junmyeon had noticed Ana was more distant, but he held off from saying anything until she was ready to speak on it. The time came after a small gathering of ‘friends’ (clients) dispersed and left the two alone in Junmyeon’s condo. Despite the intimacy of it all, it’s a place Ana has become very comfortable in. Finishing off her glass of wine, she collapses onto the couch next to the host and man of the hour.
“What a turnout,” he sighs, leaning onto his elbow to face her. “But I think we really sold ourselves as a force to reckon with in the art world.”
“Indeed. Well done, sir,” she teases, gravitating toward him, pulled in by the cedar musk of his cologne.
His ‘thank you’ is lost in the deafening distance between their lips and the gap that shortens with every thundering heartbeat. Warm fingers caress the back of her neck, his hold inching them closer together. She steadies herself from the rush of the inevitable as it pours over her, submerging her into what she’s always known. Grounding her hands against his chest, she breathes in his scent. It’s intoxicating, serving only to stir the ambiance further. A spark connects their lips, electrifying the kiss as it deepens. With reckless abandon, she crawls into his lap, energising every inch of their skin with charged desire and repressed need as their tongues dance. They break to breathe, gasping down shared air with eyes that wander no further than the other’s lips.
The moment is magical, groundbreaking, earth-shattering.
“So you’re a fan of Kyungsoo?”
Until it isn’t.
Jumping back as if she’s been burned, Ana gasps. “How’d y-”
“I talk about you to my neighbour, remember?”
“This is so embarrassing. I should- I need to go. I’ll go.”
“Don’t,” Junmyeon whispers, embracing her before she can flee from what he needs to say, what he’s been dying to confess. “I didn’t say it to hurt you. I just wanted it out in the open because… well, I have a secret of my own.”
Giving him a side-eye glance, Ana huffs. It transitions to an uneasy chuckle as she slips back into his hold, secure in his arms. There’s sincerity in his eyes and it’s enough to soothe her anxiety. He’s warm and genuine - he always has been. It’s no shocker that she fell for him. He’s perfect, like a prince from a fairytale, but more importantly he understands her. Despite being her boss, he meets her halfway. Even after her little lie he humoured her and presented himself as her boyfriend to the world. It doesn’t benefit him in any way and yet he d-
Blinking slowly, she backtracks her thoughts and lands on what she’s been trying to deny for far too long: she’s fallen for Junmyeon.
Eager to lighten the mood and change the mental trainwreck she’s enduring, Ana presses forward on his so-called secret. “Don’t tell me - you’re a fan of Kyungsoo, too?”
“That’s no real surprise. I’m his biggest fan, obviously.” Ignoring her indignant snort, he continues, “I need to tell you… well, I know why you said what you did that day to Kyungsoo. I always did, and so did he.” Ana opens her mouth to speak but he raises his hand. “Please, let me say this.”
“No, because you d-”
“We all know you’re not a crazy fan, so you don’t need to save face anymore. You don’t need to force yourself to be-”
“I’m not!”
“-with me. It would be better for me if we stopped now. I can’t-”
“Junmyeon, please.”
“-live like this. If I have to spend even one more day pretending to be happy in this lie when all I want is for it to be reality-”
“Junmyeon! Shut up for a moment!” Clapping once to garner his attention, Ana shakes her head. “You dummy, don’t you realise I’m in love with you?”
“You… are?”
“Yes!”
“Of course you are. I mean, look at me. I can’t believe I doubted myself.”
“I just figured it out and I already regret it, so there’s that.”
“I even withdrew 143 as a going away present. What a waste. Oh well, guess you’ll just have to display it in your living room.”
“You were going to give me 143 before you left?” Ana coos, tilting her head, “That’s so sweet.”
“Me? I own the company - you were the one that was leaving.”
“Very funny,” Ana says, punching his shoulder with minimal force. Her smile brightens the rooms. Cuddling into his shoulder, a yawn escapes her lips. “I was there first. And I do all the hard work. You’re just the money bags.”
“I’m the glue. I keep it all together which means I’m kind of a big deal.”
“Let’s settle this here and now on neutral grounds with equal footing.”
“What are you suggesting?”
“Come to the bedroom and find out.”

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11
Your class with Mr. Jung ended earlier than expected. The five hour lecture was cut short to three. He had to attend some meeting with the Chemistry Department faculty so with two hours to spare, you and your friends decide to go to the cafeteria to grab a quick meal.
As your group exits the room, you hear someone call your name. All of you turn your heads to the person who said your name.
“Jongdae?”
“Hey Y/N, I need to talk to you real quick.”
You tell your friends they can go ahead to the cafeteria, you’ll follow them afterwards. You thought Jongdae was going to talk about the quiz bee team so you casually walked up to him.
“So I heard something about you and someone.”
Your eyes widened. You immediately grab him by his hand and drag him to the nearest empty room. Unfortunately for you, it was the janitor’s closet.
“He told you?!” You exclaimed.
Baekhyun was right, you were cute! He remained silent, allowing you to rant while he maintained his smug look. His eyes landed on your hickey, but he kept quiet.
“Wow great, am I the talk of the Chem seniors now?” You run your hands through your hair, ruining your ponytail completely.
“Chill. He only told me. You do know I’m his best friend and roommate, right?”
“I don’t! I don’t see you hanging around him.” You tell him. “Whatever. It doesn’t matter.”
You abruptly went out the closet, Jongdae following behind you asking you to wait.
You turn to your left and you run into someone. You look up to see it was Junmyeon. His eyes furrowed as he looked at you. You had messy hair, you were sweating a little, breathing heavily, and you have a hickey. Not to mention the fact that you came from the janitor’s closet with Jongdae. He looks at you and Jongdae.
Seriously? Were you that desperate for a fuck that you would do it in school? The thought made him furious. He takes a step towards you and growls to your ear “Find me after your last class.” The way he said it made you feel chills down your spine.
He walks away but not before glaring at Jongdae.
The both of you stood there in place, shocked at how Mr. Kim responded. You went red out of embarrassment.
Not a while later, someone calls out to Jongdae. You freeze. Great, just great. The last person you wanted to see today was here.
“Baekhyun.” Jongdae greets. “What are you doing here?”
“Mrs. Lee called me in to discuss something about my thesis. Wait, is that Y/N?”
You wanted the ground to swallow you up at this moment. You refused to face Baekhyun.
“Yes... We — uh — we talked about the upcoming assembly for the organization we joined,” he lied.
“In the janitor’s closet?!” Baekhyun hissed. Jongdae was sweating now. The situation made it look like they did something dirty.
Afraid of what will happen next, you take this opportunity to sprint to the cafeteria. You do not want to be part of the argument so you “noped” your way out of the situation.
You weren’t even finished with this day but you were already so drained at this point. Your body was still sore and you don’t know how you were able to run twice this day.
Adrenaline does work wonders.
You stopped before entering the cafeteria, trying to catch your breath. When you were composed, instead of going to your friends’ table, you opt to buy your meal first. You’d rather have something to eat while you and your friends get into a long conversation about what happened to you.
You’re a very reserved person, you don’t go out much. You only ever go party when your friends are around and strictly during the weekends only. Your friends would sometimes call your life boring but you’d rather describe it as simple. So when something remotely interesting happens to you, they jump on it. They genuinely want you to enjoy your college life, especially since when you start your professional lives, all of you were going to be so damn busy.
As you took a seat on your table, your friends stare at you, waiting for you to start talking. You chuckled at how cute they all look. All wide-eyed. All leaning towards you. You felt like a teacher reading a story for toddlers. You take a deep breath and begin to tell them what happened. Now that they’ve seen you talk to Jongdae, you can’t really lie about Baekhyun anymore so you just tell them the story truthfully up until your talk with him in the janitor’s closet.
What you fabricated though, was when Mr. Kim saw both of you. You played it off as some grumpy old professor saw this and reprimanded you both. You were to talk to this professor after class.
“So how was it with Baekhyun?!” Joohyun blurts.
You turn red again. “It was amazing. And he has really pretty hands,” you say. “I’m definitely up for a second time” you jokingly added. But for real though, you wanted it to happen again. But you don’t tell your friends that.
“Ooh is this the Y/N we all know? Getting laid on a weekday, on the first day of classes... What happened to ‘weekdays are for studying’?” Seulgi said.
“It was a one time thing! I’m definitely not doing it again on a weekday. 3/10, would not recommend. The sex was 15/10 though.” Your friends laughed loudly at what you said. Of course the conversation wouldn’t end without you exaggerating at least once.
The rest of the classes you had went by fairly quick. The next thing you know, you were walking towards Mr. Kim’s office. Your heart was beating so loud. You don’t get into trouble. Ever. What happened earlier and how Mr. Kim reacted definitely screams “You’re in trouble, young lady.”
With a knock, you enter Mr. Kim’s office. He looks up from the papers he was reading and motions you to sit. You did as you were told.
“It’s not what if looks like, Mr. Kim,” you started. “We were just talking about something private.”
He raises his brow in question. He obviously doesn’t believe you. “Y/N I’m not dumb, you know.”
“But it’s true,” you whined.
Mr. Kim abruptly stands up and goes over to your side. He leans in and whispers in your ear “Do you really have to do it inside the campus? You can’t just wait to be fucked, huh?” His voice dropped an octave lower. He sounded so sexy, it sent tingles on your nether regions.
He looks at you in the eye, you can see lust. You gulped. He slips his hand under your skirt, he never breaks the eye contact, his hands rubbing your core through your panties. “I can feel your wetness, Y/N.”
“You look so pretty squirming like this.” He says.
Without warning, he moves your panties to the side and inserts a single finger in you. You moan instinctively. “You’re so naughty. Getting fingered by your professor in his office. Such a bad girl.” He tsks.
“Please...”
“Please what?”
“Please give me more, Junmyeon...”
He pulls out his finger. “Is that what you’re supposed to call me?”
You whimper. “Daddy, please give me more.”
His eyes grew darker at that. He leans in and starts kissing your neck while inserting two fingers in you. You moan at the sensation. It felt so good. His fingers felt so good.
Junmyeon hates the fact that someone marked you. Filled with jealousy, he starts marking the other side of your neck. He pulls out his fingers again and lifts your sweater. He unclasps your bra and lets it fall on the floor. He scans your body. You were half naked in front of him. Your eyes begging him to do something, anything. He kisses you this time. You don’t dare to fight him for dominance. He grabs your chin and breaks off the kiss, he shows you the fingers he used on you. “Suck” he orders. You do as you’re told. You suck his fingers while you looked him in the eyes. This gets him harder. He removes his fingers from your mouth, capturing your lips in a heated kiss again. He squeezes your breasts and pinches your nipples. He kisses your neck and then your breasts. He sucks on your right nipple while his other hands continue to carress your left boob.
You touch his hair and arch your back. He backs off. “You do not get to touch.” You nod in understanding. He then leaves a mark on your chest. Just a few inches about your nipples. He proceeds to remove your panties and lifts your skirt. Without warning, he slips his tongue to your core. “Fuck, you taste so sweet baby girl.” You let out a moan. He continues to eat you out while he inserts his fingers to your pussy again. You were so close. He can feel your cunt clenching.
All of a sudden, he detaches himself to you. You whine. “You don’t get to cum. You’ve been a naughty girl. Bad girls need to be punished.” You were shocked and frustrated. You were so close!
He then removes pants and shows you his cock. Knowing what he wants, you kneel in front of him. “Put that dirty little mouth of yours to work.” He says. You start licking the sides of his shaft. “Don’t tease,” he growls. You take him in your mouth, hollowing your cheeks as you bob your head up and down. You squeeze his balls and he moans out your name. “You feel so good, baby girl.” He grabs your hair and fucks your throat. You were choking on his dick but you didn’t care. You loved it. You love how rough he was being. Seeing you on your knees, getting fucked on your mouth with tears in your eyes drove him mad. He thrusts in your mouth a few more times and he cums. You swallow everything. He stares at you in awe. You looked thoroughly fucked.
He picks up your clothes and gives them back to you except your panties. “I’ll take these.” He says while he shows you your panties. You dress up immediately.
He sits on his table. “So Jongdae, huh?”
It took you a minute to respond. One minute he was eating you out and fucking your throat, the next, he’s talking about another man. “No, Mr. Kim. It wasn’t Jongdae.”
He gives you a questioning look.
“It was Baekhyun.”
His initial reaction was shock and then he turns jealous and then he grows irritated. Fucking Baekhyun.

hey girl.... i think prompt no.2 with Junmyeon from EXO and for it to be a tad suggestive please🥰 no worries if already taken 🤍 hope you have a nice day 🤍
Hey! Sure, Suho and prompt 2 is still available. I tried my best to make this suggestive and I hope this is good enough.
Prompt 2 “ You can’t really blame me, can you? You can only blame yourself “
hope you can enjoy this!
warning : this is kind of steamy, I don’t want my innocent readers to fall into the dark hole, but it’s your choice and risk. suggestive myeonnie is hot 😏🔥
Orange, red, and yellow leaves are racing each other to land on the ground first. It's a pretty scenery, seeing the leaves turn to the pretty shades of orange, but the rain and the soggy leaves piling on the road is never pretty. Thanksgiving is around the corner and your lover has invited you over to have dinner with his family. You cannot go home to your homeland and celebrate Thanksgiving with your family, but Junmyeon is here to save your day. You finally finish your nine to five work today and bid farewell for the long holiday to your colleagues. Your phone rings as you step into the lift. Your smile appears when you see the caller ID name. There on your screen is the picture of Junmyeon flashing. You pick up the call, "Hey Myeonnie," you call him by his sweet name.
Junmyeon smiles though you cannot see it, "Hey darling, I am downstairs already. You're done with work?" You watch the elevator shows you're descending from the 12th floor to the basement, where your lover usually picks you up. "Yeah I'm in the lift, you're here already?" "Yes, I am here. Should I pick you in the lobby?" You chukle, "No need, it's faster for me to find your car. Okay I'm walking to the car now. I see you!" You still leave the phone on call and run a bit to reach his car. Junmyeon greets you as soon as you make it into his black Maserati. "Hey, you don't have to run. You might fall and I don't want you to fall." He leans in to peck your cheek and you only smile while putting on your seatbelt. "All set, we're ready to go home. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I am both excited and nervous." Junmyeon presses his gas and we move away from the parking lot. He focuses on the road while asking you questions , "Why? We'll just have dinner." You roll your eyes, "Yeah with your parents." He doesn't seem to get your anxiety, "And?" You close your eyes and take a deep breathe, seriously sometimes he can be the man with a sexy brain, but other times like now he cannot understand basic situation like this. "What if they do not like me." Your boyfriend grins and extends his right hand to hold your left hand, "They won't. They'll love you."
You groan, "Well that is what all people will say." The man with the face of an angel squeezes your palm, "To tell you the truth, they have been expecting me to bring you for a dinner since last year, but I just got the chance to bring you tomorrow." You know Suho is busy last year with his EXO concert and he had to skipped his family dinner last time because he was in the other side of the hemisphere. Tomorrow however, will be the day he officially introduces you to the Kims. "Calm down okay, why don't we prepare ourselves first so that tomorrow you're not nervous." You want to laugh, but you cant. You're really nervous but at the same time thinks doing a recital will just make it silly. "Let's not talk about this. We should enjoy the holiday... I say we start by eating dinner in that sushi place my princess loves." Junmyeon swerves right and changes lane, your stomach grumbles in anticipation when you hear sushi. "You really know how to treat me like a princess eh?" He clicks his tongue, "That's the least I can do." He was right, eating dinner and talking about the busy week over some sushi and sake is a good way to relax. "So, you're working on your solo album? Interesting, why didn't you tell me sooner?" Myeon laughs, "I wanted to surprise you, but I can't hold it back any longer." "Okay keep it secret, surprise me when the album is out." He scrunches his nose and steals a kiss from you, "Alright if that is what you want. Shall we go home? You're quite red." Well your alcohol tolerance is moderate, but your face will go red after a certain time and Suho knows when to bring you home. You smile and nod, "Okay Myeonnie." He pays the bill and carefully helps you walk to the car, you're not drunk but he wants to make sure you did not twist your ankle in that heels. Once the black car enters the royal residence, the automatic gates open and Suho parks his car nicely. Carefully you and Suho enter the house and you sigh in relieve when your feet touch the grounds. "Whew best feeling ever." Suho just laughs and walks to heat up the room. It's 1-degree Celcius out there. "You want to shower first?" Suho turns on the water faucet to fill in the tub. You nod your head, "I think I need some me time." So, like the gentleman he is, he prepares the hot water to your favorite temperature and pours in the stress relieving oils. You bun your hair and strips from the uncomfortable working suit you wore for the whole day. You clean up your make up first with a toner and only in your lingerie you wrap your body in the silk bathrobe.
“Bath is ready,” Suho screams from the toilet, you quickly make your way to the shower, just to see Suho already sitting on the side of the tub with loosen tie and shirt.
You bite your lips, his collar bone peeking from his unbuttoned shirt is enough to make you feel something tingling in your stomach.
“Thank you, why don’t you join me?” You bravely invite him over while you peel off the silk robe and drop them down elegantly.
Junmyeon’s eyes change when he sees what you have underneath the piece of cloth.
“You’re wearing that to work? Laces for works. Sexy.” He quirks his eyebrows.
You shyly nod your head “Well yeah, I kind of ran out of the regular ones. I forgot to do the laundry.”
Suho whistles, “Alright, remember you’re the one inviting me over.”
You did not mind his words, just toss everything off and step into the big tub. You moan in delight when the feel of the hot water hugs your skin and give a slight burning sensation.
“Ah yes, I really need this.” You lean into the side and close your eyes only to be disturbed by Junmyeon’s attempt to enter the tub.
He carefully picks you up, so you’re seated between him and you only close your eyes more when you feel his hardness touching your back.
“Um Myeon, you’re-“
He shuts you up with one touch on your neck, you gasp when he whispers into your ear, “Look what you did to me.”
You squirm in his touch; it’s been a while and just a fingertip of his hand on your skin already makes you desire for more.
He kisses you deeply until you’re out of breath. You focus to fill your lungs with air and soft like a whisper, Junmyeon puts his lips next to your ear. His next sentence makes your hair stands.
With his deep voice you can hear his inner beast growling, “You can’t really blame me, can you? You can only blame yourself.” He ghosts a slight hot breath on your sensitive neck and with a smirk Myeon kisses you once again, “You did this to me, now you’re responsible for this.”
You know you’re not going to have the recital for tomorrow’s dinner, tonight it’s going to be a long night and you’re not against it.
“Guess I’ll make you crazy tonight.” You smirk to him and you know you’ve woken the wild side of your softie boyfriend once he replies you with, “Behave my dear princess.”
the end.

Sundays were days reserved for relaxing; a day where Minhyo didn’t have to worry about the possibility of getting up late. Sundays were days reserved for relaxing; a day where Minhyo didn’t have to worry about the possibility of missing a deadline for some coursework. Sundays were also days where she didn’t have to be awakened by the sounds of children yelling and crying from the kindergarten in the neighborhood. Sundays were blessing that Minhyo held really dear to her heart because it’s a day where she wasn’t tied to a schedule or anything.
But on a particular Sunday in May, she didn’t feel relaxed at all. She might have even woken up two hours later than she usually was, and she even spent extra twenty minutes rolling around her bed and scrolling through her Instagram feeds, but that didn’t help the anxiety she had felt since the beginning of the week.
This Sunday was also the day where her father would be coming to visit her for the first time since she left Seoul three years ago. All the video calls made throughout the year was not enough to quench the longing feeling she felt, but this time, everything was going to be worth it. All the pain she felt and the tears she shed would be worth it.
Well, at least, that’s what the poetic side of her brain told her as she sat in the car, trying not to lose her mind because of the traffic. It seemed like the fact that she left her apartment earlier to go to the restaurant didn’t even matter because she still managed to meet all the red traffic lights.
“You haven’t said anything since we left your place. Are you okay?” Letting out a sigh, Minhyo glanced at her right where her dear friend sat on the passenger seat with her phone clutched in her right hand and a cold cup of coffee on another.
“I’m not. I feel like we’re going to be late.” Once the light turned green and the cars in front of them started to move, Minhyo let out a sigh of relief. “Thank God, finally.”
“I think she’s about to go crazy.” Minhyo furrowed her eyebrows and glanced at her right, seeing Bomi smiling and talking to her phone. “I’m also pretty sure that she doesn’t even realize that I’ve been doing this for ten minutes now.”
“Are you doing Instagram live?” Minhyo asked with her eyes still on the road and Bomi only hummed as an answer. Her stomach churned at the answer; she could even feel her palms starting to sweat.
“Yeah, you’ve been so preoccupied with your head and the traffic to notice it.” Minhyo sometimes forgot how impulsive Bomi could be when it came to using her social media accounts. She remembered a few times where her close friend got in a bit of trouble because she posted something ambiguous; like that one time in 2016 where Bomi posted a photo of Minhyo sitting in front of TV and eating a tub of ice cream with caption ‘my soulmate’ with a few heart emoji after the caption. So many people were speculating if the two of them were dating, when in fact they weren’t. It made it to the online news portal and people were talking about it.
(It affected the relationship Minhyo had with a certain someone after that, but she didn’t want to think about that).
“Want to say something?” Bomi’s airy voice pulled her back into the present, deep down Minhyo was hating it how her best friend could put her in the spot like that.
Clearing her throat and flexing her hand on the steering wheel, Minhyo opened her mouth and finally spoke. “Uhh, hello. I don’t know if you can see me clearly, but well, it’s been too long. I hope everyone has a nice day.” She didn’t even forget to crack a small smile that actually looked nothing like a smile at all. It was so forced that she wondered if she turned out like she had been holding a stomachache or something.
Whatever, she thought to herself as she continued to focus on the road and tuned out whatever Bomi was doing next to her. After all, it was easier for her to tune it out. Although it painfully reminded her of her own Instagram that she didn’t open unless she really wanted to post a picture. She felt a little guilty, too, remembering how she disabled her Instagram posts’ comment section ever since she left. It was for the best, though, her little heart defended herself.
She didn’t know how long Bomi had been doing Instagram live, but when they almost arrived at the restaurant where they would be meeting her father, Bomi wasn’t talking up a storm to her phone anymore.
“So, when are you going to turn on the comment section on your Instagram again?” Bomi was known to be blunt, but Minhyo didn’t think that her friend would ask such questions this early. She had gotten so comfortable to not see anything under her posts and truth to be told, she didn’t even have it in mind to turn it on anytime soon.
“I don’t know,” she opted to answer truthfully, knowing that the petite friend would be asking her questions anyway.
“You should turn it on the next time you post something.” Minhyo just hummed, not wanting to respond anything again. It was better to focus on parking the rented car because she was sane enough to decide to not buy a car in New York City. The only car she had was in Seoul and it was being used by her little sister on an almost daily basis. “People miss you a lot, you know.”
That wasn’t the first time Bomi told her that. She wasn’t even the first person. Sehun, who used the app frequently to interact with his followers, told her the same things a couple of times too. She was tired of being told that and sometimes on a bad day, she thought that even her closest friends didn’t understand her; they didn’t get how toxic the internet had been for her before and how it was the one thing that gave her the final push to leave.
“Let’s just go, okay?” Minhyo breathed, glancing at her friend briefly. It wasn’t the best time to explain it all to her.
Bomi only sighed, knowing that she wouldn’t get any more than that.
K-Forum: Kim Minhyo is finally seen during Ahn Bomi’s Insta live!

[screenshot2.jpg]
It has been a while since the last time we saw Kim Minhyo! The last time we saw her is three years ago at the airport, right? Right when she’s about to leave the country...
I’m so sad when the news of her taking a break from the entertainment industry came out, but now I can see that it’s for the better. Wish I can see her in a drama/movie soon, though.
[post response] [+1,556;-412]
[+1,231;-432] She looks healthier, though! I remember when she used to be so skinny, it was borderline unhealthy. Glad that the break and the school are doing great on her.
[+947;-209] I miss her so much… I want to see her in movies and drama again... She is such a talented actress.
[+743;-111] Not only talented as an actress, but she’s also smart and beautiful… Did she save a nation in her past life or what?
[+460;-156] What happened between her and Kim Junmyeon, though? We never got a clarification whether they broke up or not. We only got that cryptic post and sudden news of Junmyeon enlisting.
[+284;-531] She should’ve just stayed unseen though. Stay in America and don’t even go back here.
Silver and purple.
Everywhere Minhyo turned, the only thing she could see was silver and purple. It’s on the flags, and their graduation gowns and caps. It was everywhere. She had seen those colors for the past two years, and she thought she’s done with it. No matter how many times she thought she’s going to miss campus life, she actually wouldn’t. She definitely wouldn’t miss stressing out over her classes and grades.
“Oh, my daughter, look at you!” Minhyo let out an embarrassed laugh at her father’s reaction when he approached her, a bouquet of flowers in his hand. “I’m so proud of you.” She could only flash her a grateful smile and open her arms, accepting his hug.
“Thank you so much, Pa.” She shut her eyes and squeezed her father. “It really means a lot that you came here.” They both pulled back from the hug and Minhyo accepted the flowers her dad gave to her.
“Do you really think I would miss such an important day?” Her father chided, shaking his head faintly when Mihyo just flashed him a sheepish smile. “Where’s Bomi, by the way? I thought she said she’s also coming.”
“She told me she’s close. I’m pretty sure she’ll be here at any moment.” While waiting for Bomi to join them, Minhyo pulled out her phone and took a few selfies with her father. She even recorded a short video too, for it to be posted on her Instagram later. It didn’t hurt to show her face once, she thought. It was her day, after all.
When Bomi finally came, Minhyo couldn’t believe her eyes. As she walked, she also had what seemed like more than six balloons in her hand and her phone on her free hand. Still unable to comprehend the whole thing, Minhyo let out a laugh and shook her head in disbelief, although the beaming smile on her face was still prominent.
“What the hell are you doing?” She asked, her eyes widening as her best friend finally approached her. “What is this?”
“Just some property for your picture.”
Minhyo ended up asking one of her classmates to take a picture of her and her father. In the end, her father even volunteered to take countless pictures of his daughter and the best friend. Those pictures needed to be sorted thoroughly later, but Minhyo wouldn’t mind the process. She could do it later when she laid down in her trusty bed after everything was done.
From that, everything felt like a blur of multicolor in her eyes.
There was a lunch at her favorite restaurant with her favorite foods and people and that was including Sehun who suddenly showed up in the middle of the lunch with a handful of balloons and a paper bag full of other goodies from the others. Minhyo couldn’t resist her tears anymore the minute she opened one of the presents, which was a scrapbook full of pictures of her alone and together with the others too and encouraging notes from the others. Her heart clenched at the fact that even though she kind of dropped her life in Seoul and moved to New York, they were still thinking of her and went out of their way to make such a meaningful gift for her.
“I’m recording this and sending this to all the hyungs.” She didn’t even have any energy to wrestle the phone out of Sehun’s hands. She was too busy sniffling while looking through the book.
The moments she didn’t know were going to be captured in-camera were surprisingly there. That moment when she was caught off guard by something Kyungsoo said and sprayed the water she was drinking all over the table, when they were celebrating Chanyeol’s birthday (this was a few months before she moved away) at her old apartment, when they were on a trip together to Japan, and so many moments in their friendship that she always treasured in her heart.
Out of everything, one picture that caught her off guard the most was the one of her and Junmyeon sitting together on his couch. In that picture, she leaned her head on his shoulder and he was leaning his head on top of hers and it was such an oddly intimate moment that they went through together after she had one of her breakdowns before the others came to have dinner together. She didn’t know that someone (it was Sehun, she knew, since he knew the passcode to Junmyeon’s apartment) would capture it in the picture.
Something shifted in her heart as she kept her eyes on the picture. It was like she missed it. She missed sitting on that couch with Junmyeon and doing nothing but talking. She missed having his shoulders to lean on and his hands to hold onto whenever she felt like she needed a grip because life liked to catch her by surprise.
“Do you have something to say, noona?” Sehun’s voice pulled her back to the moment, where both of her friends and her father were looking at her expectantly. Heaving out a shaky breath, she flashed her family (and the camera phone pointing at her) a wide smile.
“Thank you so much for this,” she breathed out. “This… This is so precious. I don’t even know what else I’m going to say.” She ended up chuckling through her happy tears. Placing the book on the table in front of her, she rose from her seat to give two of her best friends a big hug. It was a bit awkward since Sehun had his phone in hand and it was pressed up against her side, but she didn’t mind it. What’s important was that she could give them the biggest hug she could ever have given someone.
“We’re glad that you like it, though,” Bomi spoke up as she pulled back from the hug. “A certain someone was fussing about it, telling us that we have to make it special.” Minhyo didn’t ask any further about that certain someone, but she could have easily guessed who it was. It could only mean one person only and just thinking about his name already stirred something in her stomach.
“Okay, enough of this sappy moment. Let’s eat.”
It was pretty much smooth sailing after that. Minhyo didn’t shed any more tears since the tears were changed into a round of laughter that she couldn’t help but let out when Sehun shared a few stories from home. Sehun’s stoic face and his weird-but-adorable way of telling a story never failed to lift her mood. Although it was nice to hear those stories, she couldn’t help but have this forlorn hope that she was back home to experience it herself.
She wished she was there to experience it all with them. Too bad things weren’t the same as it was back then, though. After what happened, it was unlikely for things to work the way it was.
“Make sure to read the letters too, okay?” Bomi reminded her when Minhyo was looking through all the goodies in the car on their way back to her apartment. Sehun had kindly offered to drive them all because he liked driving (no matter if it was in Seoul or NYC, even though the traffic was testing their patience).
“What’s in there? Is it tears inducing?” Minhyo asked with an easy smile across her face, holding the bulk of letters in her hands. Her thumbs absentmindedly caressed the front of the letters from Junmyeon, but she didn’t even notice (Bomi, however, did).
“It’s just sappy things. I heard Chanyeol shed a bit of tear when he wrote the letter.” Minhyo couldn’t help but let out a string of giggles. Of course, Chanyeol would do that, she mused to herself.
It turned out that Chanyeol wasn’t the only one who shed tears. She did end up shedding tears, too, when she read the letters on her bed later that evening. How could she not, when the letters were filled with beautiful, touching words that moved her heart? How could she not, when she could really feel how each letter was written with sincerity? How could she not, when what she felt after each letter was how much she missed everyone and the realization of how lonely it had been for her for the past few years?
She might be torn of what she wanted to do after this. But after reading those letters, looking around her room, and realizing how painful it was that there was nothing but her traces in that place, she knew. She knew that she couldn’t spend another year in that city. Maybe it was the right time to come home.
Hi, it’s me, Junmyeon.
It feels weird writing this letter, actually. We’ve already used to text and call each other, right? It’s really weird to write this. I don’t even know what I’m going to write...
But anyway, congratulations on getting that Master’s degree! I’m (always have been and will) so proud of you, especially for finishing this graduate school. I’ve heard from Bomi and the others that you’ve been so stressed out about it, but hey, you finally made it! Now that it’s done, you can finally relax. Maybe you should take a few days and fly to LA and enjoy the sunset before going back to Seoul. Well, that is if you plan to come back home… We miss you a lot here, but whatever you’re planning for after this, just know that I will always support you (and so will the kids)!
I don’t really know what to write anymore, but well, I hope you’re okay. I hope you’re healthy and eating well and getting enough sleep too. Don’t drink too much coffee, you know you can’t drink more than 2 cups a day or it will really mess up your sleeping schedule. And I also hope that you’re enjoying your time and still managing to have a little bit of fun amid your busy days.
Once again, congratulations, Minhyo!
Love you. Always.
