Natural Sweetening with Sugarcane Powder: A Healthier Alternative
In the quest for healthier eating habits, many people are turning to natural sweeteners as a substitute for refined sugar. Sugarcane powder is gaining popularity for its ability to provide sweetness along with added nutritional benefits. This natural product is not only versatile in its applications but also a healthier alternative that can be easily incorporated into various foods and beverages.
What is Sugarcane Powder?
Sugarcane powder is derived from the juice of the sugarcane plant. The juice is extracted, evaporated, and then finely ground into a powder. Unlike refined sugar, which undergoes extensive processing and loses many of its natural nutrients, sugarcane powder retains much of its original nutritional content. This makes it a more wholesome option for those looking to reduce their intake of refined sugars.
Health Benefits of Sugarcane Powder
One of the key advantages of sugarcane powder is its nutritional profile. It contains essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, and iron. These minerals play vital roles in maintaining healthy bodily functions, including bone health, muscle function, and oxygen transport in the blood. Additionally, sugarcane powder is a source of antioxidants, which help protect the body from oxidative stress and inflammation.
Sugarcane powder also retains vitamins that are often lost in the refining process of regular sugar. It provides a variety of B vitamins, including B1, B2, B3, B5, and B6, which are crucial for energy metabolism and overall health. The presence of vitamin C in sugarcane powder can help boost the immune system and support skin health.
Using Sugarcane Powder as a Sweetener
Sugarcane powder can be used in place of traditional sugar in almost any recipe. Here are some common applications:
Beverages: Add sugarcane powder to your tea, coffee, smoothies, or any other drinks that require a touch of sweetness. It dissolves easily and blends well, providing a natural and pleasant taste.
Baking: Replace granulated sugar with sugarcane powder in your baking recipes. It works well in cakes, cookies, muffins, and bread, giving them a subtle sweetness and enhancing the flavor.
Cooking: Use sugarcane powder in savory dishes that require a hint of sweetness. It can be added to sauces, marinades, and dressings to balance flavors and add depth to your culinary creations.
Snacks: Sprinkle sugarcane powder over fruits, yogurt, or cereals for a quick and healthy snack. It can also be used to sweeten homemade granola or energy bars.

Vayalfoods Naattu sakarai, also known as country sugar or unrefined sugar, is a traditional sweetener used in South Indian cuisine. It is made from sugarcane juice, which is boiled and evaporated until it solidifies into a block or powder.

still thinking about that post explaining if your food doesn't taste right it's probably missing some basic seasoning, element or spice and there was some american going "op you forgot molasses" and i just had to sit there thinking about the sugarcane industry and colonialism and so on and how it influenced the cuisine of north america and the carribean and all the history that lead to someone considering molasses on the same level as salt, pepper or stock powder.
obviously not something I'm actually annoyed at it was just surreal, kinda like the US and their obsession with buttermilk.

What is the drink of choice for your OCs? (does not have to be alcoholic. Could just be iced coffee or whatever)
Ehehe this reminds me of the drink ask- I'll link it here.
Tumblr media
Everyone has different tastes and thoughts behind their drinks of choice, so it was really fun to write this...
Sera:
Tumblr media
Coffee! She has a large dependence on caffeine and will prefer coffee to energy drinks in most occasions. Nate can tell how fucked up her sleep schedule is going to be by counting the discarded filters. "I'll join you later Liebe, I just need to wrap this up." She said, before coming to bed at 3 AM to sleep for one hour and thirty minutes.
Nate:
Tumblr media
Supra-Melatonin Tea. He's an insomniac who has trouble falling asleep- especially when hearing everyone's thoughts blare like white noise 24/7. When he's not trying to pass out he's drinking whatever green health sludge he's made using his juice extractor. "It's got 11 superfoods, including quinoa and cilantro!" We believe you, Nate.
Sonia:
Tumblr media
Any kind of fruity cocktail. She's also a sucker for a good punch, even though she cannot get drunk anymore. She also likes to mix and match whatever is in stock for fun, then get the crew to test out her inventions. "Oh this? I call it Blood on the Beach. Try it." There's a 60% chance it's tasty and a 40% chance you're getting very drunk after.
Vincent:
Tumblr media
Grapefruit Juice. He likes it- it's not too sweet, kind of sour, and it makes his stomach feel nice after. Refreshing. He's not going to complain if he has to drink something else, though. Other favorites are: tap water, unsweetened limeade, Seltzer, and hard vodka. "It's digestible if it's not poison." Okay Vincent.
Amon:
Tumblr media
Asab (Sugarcane Juice) is his favorite... His mother used to find a way to make it on special occasions, but sugarcane isn't found often, less so now. He'll settle for a nicely sweetened lemonade with wedges in it, or just beer. He's a fan of summery drinks! "I gotta find a way to make that here..." It's a taste of home he misses.
Eric:
Tumblr media
Thrush! Soda. He drinks way too much of it. Every time Sera calls him out on his habits, he makes his teeth melt. It's surprisingly graphic. Past that he also likes powdered drink mixes like Cool Aide, energy drinks, and novelty pop- the weirder the better. "Heh- I got a pickle Thrush. Tastes narsty but I can't stop drinking it." Holy hell Eric.
Strohl:
Tumblr media
He drinks lots of water and little else. He's got to keep in shape... Sigh... As for what he likes to drink, he has a private selection of bourbon that he keeps in the couch console for particularly special occasions... Or rough days. He cherishes his time to himself, it's practically restorative for him. "There is little to say. I am a deceptively simple man." For such an affluent guy he's pretty dull.
Honorable mentions:
Titan still prefers blood, that's kind of his thing. Rip and tear, then drink from his victims like a freshly cracked coconut. Ew! He gets a free tragedy to watch with his drink too.
Tumblr media
Monica liked drinking tea, she didn't really care what kind it was. It's just nice to drink something warm before going out for missions. If only she could actually enjoy it without Sera asking her to stay. Lord above, is she made of velcro? Hayes doesn't remember being like this as a child.
Tumblr media
Karin likes drinking expensive bar specials that you'll be paying for. Yours tastes a little funny...
Tumblr media

the most common candy flavors in sornieth are herbal and tea-based. tea flowers and petals, insects, and small bits of dried foraged local fruit are common additives suspended in hard candies as well. occasionally even jerky, though most would prefer just have a very sweet piece of honeyed jerky instead.
cane sugar as a sweetener is extremely rare outside of sugarcane's limited native range. instead, most sornieth cooking uses the natural sugars in fruit, honey, even things like beets.
outside of the native range of the cacao tree, the only of it's products that most ever see is an extremely dark cocoa powder, itself pricey and rare, which is more often than not used as a spice and to make several forms of bitter, spiced drinks. while locals in the native growing range of the tree have some more recipes involving the fresh flesh, membrane, rind, and whatnot of the fruit, chocolate, as we understand it, more or less doesn't exist.
meat shaved ice is a thing. you freeze a piece of raw meat. maybe soak it in strong sauces first. and you shave it like ice. it's disgusting if you're not an obligate hypercarnivore. if sornieth has any equivalent to icecream their idea of common flavors is probably quite a bit different from ours.

I decided to finally try out Hardcore Minecraft in Bedrock Edition. I’m going to talk about what happens in the world here-
——
Day 0 (Or Day 1? I dunno)
I spawned into a snowy biome, which immediately made me worried there was powdered snow. Which… would be a short and unfortunate end to a new world. Luckily, there wasn’t any powdered snow, and there was a spruce tree!
I got some wood and sugarcane and set out to look for any animals. I only saw rabbits, which I don’t think is exactly a good source of food. The absence of sheep was concerning, so I went to the Minecraft wiki to see if sheep can spawn in snowy biomes. Seems like they can’t?
I found a ruined portal, which had two golden apples, a golden helmet, and a flint and steel in the chest. I took those items and continued to explore. I found an iceberg area by the time the sun started to set. I might try to pass through it in hopes of finding a warmer biome.

5 alkemia samples
silken tent
first impressions: its a bit disappointing.... smells nice and sweet abit powdery but its extremely similar to a $10 vanilla body spray i got from woolworths.... not worth it so far but ill let it sit for a while.
+after sitting for a while its gorgeous. sweet syrupy golden but not too edible smelling. the angelica adds a soft fuzzy herbal tone that balances the fragrance and cuts through the syrupy texture and keeps it from getting cloying. i cant stop inhaling it. i can smell the candied angelica, rice pudding and caramel the best and the jasmine, tuberose and chrysanthemum are more of a subtle white floral in the background.
★★★★★
aurora
first impressions: stexture eally nice reminds me of those musky perfumes you get from mecca that are by byredo or sum shit... i like it fresh neutral a bit of cardamom and iris.
+the iris is really pretty very buttery and milky not too powdery. i can smell the cardamom, violet, musk clearly and the cashmeran adds a cedar element but i cant detect any ginger. ethereal is a good word to describe it. i was wearing it while watching spirited away the other day and i felt like they were a good match especially soundtracks like a road to somewhere and the beginning of nighttime coming.
★★★★
bohemiens en voyage
first impressions: i put it on tadhg it smells like a hippie perfume but more pleasant and wearable in my opinion. a bit smoky a bit like hay a bit sweet. i tried to smell it again but he had made a smoked salmon croissant and all i could smell was da salmon.
+theres no anise in the notes but the beginning smells like it has a licorice note. i can smell the hay, tobacco and amber in the beginning plus a lowkey background sweetness from the sugarcane which smells crystalised. after about 10 minutes the licorice type note is gone (maybe the tabac leaf?) and i can smell hay, sugarcane and the most gorgeous skin musk. buttery salty creamy is how id describe it which might not sound so appealing but it really is beautiful. this is also a golden coloured fragrance like silken tent but instead of being an amber colour its more of a soft dusty yellow. this scent makes me think of malibu by hole. i think that tobacco hay sugarcane and iris are very kinderwhore themed notes in my mind. my mother said that the opening smells like talcum powder.
★★★★★
the wild atlantic way
first impressions: SOO GOOD..... smells fresh and oceanic and floral and the flowers are like honey-sweet wildflowers this is GOOD ASF..... i like it fr. abit soapy but im still lovin it
+the opening flowers are so sweet and full that they almost smell fruity. they smell bright yellow and juicy and you can really smell the nectar and pollen in them. after ten minutes the flowers arent as juicy but they are still very bright and sweet and you start smelling the salt of the ambergris. slowly the flowers die down and it becomes a slightly floral ambergris perfume. im learning that im a huge fan of yellow florals. i saw someone on reddit say that this fragrance reminds them of a romantic scene in a movie (braveheart is the example they used) and i can see that. to me it calls to mind a scene of green fields bright yellow flowers cliffsides and rough waves. the clouds are thick and covering the whole sky except for one break where the sunlight streams down in rays golden and the bright sunlit landscape is contrasted by the dark grey clouds in the distance and it looks otherworldly. one of my favourite kinds of weathers but yeah i like this scent though i am generally a floral lover.
★★★★★
wings of flame
first impressions: this shit smells delicious like coffee yummy.
+smells edible but not overly sweet. the coffee is almost dessert like and the honey is chewy and amber coloured. it makes sense that the coffee note is described as "golden coffee" because it almost smells a bit like caramel with how rich and deep and sweet it is. i put it on tadhg to see his reaction and he says he loves honey+coffee combinations because its decadent in an ancient way. i can see what he means especially for this fragrance in particular. theres no patchouli in the notes but that was a note my mum picked up on.

It is also a good source of vitamins, such as B vitamins and vitamin C. Jaggery powder is also a low-glycemic index food, which means that it does not cause a spike in blood sugar levels. This makes it a good choice for people with diabetes.
What are the uses of Sugarcane Jaggery Powder?
Sugarcane jaggery powder can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used to sweeten tea, coffee, and other beverages. It can also be used to make desserts, such as cakes, cookies, and puddings. Jaggery powder can also be used to make savory dishes, such as curries and stews.
How to store Sugarcane Jaggery Powder
To store sugarcane jaggery powder, it is best to keep it in a cool, dry place. You can also store it in the refrigerator. If the jaggery powder becomes hard, you can soften it by adding a few drops of water or by microwaving it for a few seconds.
Conclusion
Sugarcane jaggery powder is a healthy and delicious alternative to refined white sugar. It is a good source of nutrients and does not go bad. Jaggery powder can be used in a variety of ways, so it is a versatile ingredient to have on hand.

What Are the Best Ingredients Used in Traditional South Indian Sweets?
South Indian sweets are renowned for their rich, intricate flavors and textures, which are achieved through a blend of fresh and natural ingredients. These sweets often have a unique, balanced sweetness, thanks to the high-quality components used in their preparation. Whether you’re indulging in a rich Mysore Pak or a delicate Kozhukattai, the ingredients are key to creating the authentic taste that defines South Indian desserts. Let’s explore some of the best ingredients used in traditional South Indian sweets.
1. Ghee (Clarified Butter)
Ghee is a fundamental ingredient in many South Indian sweets. Its rich, nutty flavor and smooth texture are essential to the taste of traditional desserts like Mysore Pak, Rava Kesari, and Laddu. Ghee adds depth and enhances the other flavors, making the sweet more indulgent and aromatic. It’s also what gives these sweets their characteristic richness and golden color.
2. Jaggery
Jaggery, a traditional, unrefined sugar made from sugarcane or date palms, is widely used in South Indian sweets. Unlike refined sugar, jaggery offers a deep, earthy sweetness and a caramel-like flavor that adds complexity to desserts like Adhirasam, Kozhukattai, and Puran Poli. Its natural sweetness balances perfectly with the richness of ghee and the spices used in these sweets.
3. Rice Flour
Rice flour is another staple in South Indian sweets. It forms the base for many delicacies, contributing to a soft, chewy, or crispy texture. It’s used in treats like Kozhukattai, Idiyappam, and Murukku. Rice flour helps create a delicate balance of texture, especially when combined with other ingredients like jaggery and coconut.
4. Coconut
Coconut is a versatile ingredient used in various forms — grated, milk, or cream — and is a key player in many South Indian desserts. It imparts a naturally sweet flavor and a refreshing texture. Desserts like Payasam, Modak, and Adhirasam use grated coconut in their preparation, while coconut milk is used in creamy treats like Semiya Payasam. The natural sweetness and aromatic qualities of coconut elevate the overall taste and richness of South Indian sweets.
5. Cardamom
Cardamom is one of the most aromatic and beloved spices in South Indian sweets. Its subtle, warm, and floral flavor enhances the sweetness of desserts like Payasam, Kesari, and Laddu. Often ground into a fine powder or used in whole pods, cardamom infuses the sweets with its distinct fragrance, making it a vital ingredient for authenticity.
6. Gram Flour (Chickpea Flour)
Gram flour, or besan, is essential in many traditional South Indian sweets, such as Mysore Pak, Besan Laddu, and Moong Dal Halwa. The nutty, earthy flavor of gram flour, combined with ghee and sugar, results in a rich, melt-in-the-mouth dessert. Gram flour also plays a vital role in achieving the desired consistency and texture in sweets like Laddu and Halwa.
7. Cashews and Almonds
Cashews and almonds are commonly used as garnishes and flavor enhancers in South Indian sweets. Their rich, nutty taste and crunchy texture contrast beautifully with the soft and smooth textures of the sweets. Cashews are often used in Laddu, Mysore Pak, and Payasam, while almonds are sprinkled on top of many desserts to add both flavor and visual appeal.
8. Saffron
Saffron is a prized ingredient known for its golden color and distinct floral flavor. A small pinch of saffron can completely transform the taste and appearance of South Indian sweets. It's commonly used in desserts like Payasam, Kesari, and Kheer, where it imparts a luxurious aroma and a rich, golden hue. Saffron adds an aromatic depth that enhances the sweetness of the dish.
9. Pulses and Lentils
Lentils and pulses are integral to many South Indian desserts, adding texture and nutritional value. For instance, moong dal (yellow lentils) is used to make Moong Dal Halwa, which has a soft, grainy texture, while other lentils are used in Payasam and Pongal. These ingredients provide a healthy balance to the richness of ghee and sugar, making these sweets more filling and satisfying.
10. Semolina (Rava)
Semolina, or rava, is a versatile ingredient used in a variety of South Indian sweets like Rava Kesari, Kesari Bath, and Rava Laddu. It adds a light, crumbly texture and serves as a great base for many desserts. The mild flavor of semolina allows it to absorb the flavors of ghee, sugar, and cardamom, making it a favorite in traditional South Indian sweets.
11. Sugar
Sugar is, of course, an essential ingredient in South Indian sweets. It provides the sweetness that balances the richness of ghee, the earthiness of jaggery, and the complexity of cardamom. Whether in syrup form for Jalebi or mixed with jaggery in desserts like Adhirasam, sugar plays a pivotal role in achieving the perfect sweetness in these treats.
12. Bananas
Bananas, particularly ripe bananas, are often used in South Indian sweets to provide natural sweetness and moisture. In dishes like Unniyappam, a deep-fried banana-based sweet, bananas add a soft, chewy texture. They also complement ingredients like jaggery and coconut, making for a flavorful dessert with a rich, satisfying consistency.
Conclusion
The best ingredients used in traditional South Indian sweets are a beautiful combination of natural, wholesome flavors. Ghee, jaggery, coconut, and spices like cardamom and saffron come together to create delicious desserts that are rich in texture and taste. These ingredients are at the heart of South Indian culinary traditions, offering an indulgent yet authentic dessert experience. Whether you’re enjoying them through online shopping for South Indian sweets or trying them at a local store, the flavors created by these ingredients are sure to delight your taste buds and take you on a culinary journey.

how make minecraft cake accurate recipe
Okay to start: we need to get our measurements sorted out. We know (?) that minecraft blocks are 1x1x1 meters. But, in case of emergencies, we can slightly tweak how big minecraft blocks are.
We can see that we need icing on top, and from the subtle but noticable divide in the cross section texture gotten from eating a slice in-game, it needs to be a dark color inside and have 2 tiers.
So, we need:
3 buckets milk
2 piles sugar
1 egg
3 wheat
Red food for the toppings
We can deduce from the powdered snow sprite that a bucket holds about a cubic meter minus the size of a snowball, and a snowball is 1/4 of a block due to the crafting recipe of a snow block. So a bucket of milk should be 3/4 of a cubic meter.
Sugar is 1:1 processed with the sugarcane item, and the sugar cane item is 1:1 with the sugar cane block, which appears to be 8 1-meter stalks(?) of sugarcane. We can then assume that a pile of sugar is the result of processing 8 meters of sugar cane.
1 egg is 1 egg. Easy. It comes from a chicken, and should probably be pretty large.
1 square meter of farmland 1 meter high produces 1 wheat, so we should think about either how much wheat comes from 1 square meter of farmland once it grows to 1 meter high, or how much wheat comes from 1 cubic meter of... wheat. Then we turn it into flour. I don't know, I don't bake.
Since you could either think that adding more minecraft stuff would be more minecraft themed and make more sense for Steve/Player to use, or that if the ingredient were in minecraft it would be in the recipe, you can either commit to only using stuff from minecraft or all the stuff from minecraft being from the recipe. If you want to make the red toppings from minecraft, most people opt for sweet berries, but I would also think watermelon would be a contendor. As for the flipside, where we don't want stuff from minecraft, strawberrys would be an obvious choice.
We can "cheat" by turning the milk into cheese or the sugar into caramel. Maybe the topping on top is some unusually red caramel. This could also be used to fill the cake. I always imagined the cake as having filling for some reason.
I would beat the egg first thing. It can be used to rise the cake itself or make the frosting. Also, the milk is on top, which indicates most of it is used for the frosting.
I don't know how to put this all together to actually make the cake, but it would be so awesome if it worked.

What is the shelf life of jaggery powder
Jaggery powder, a natural sweetener derived from sugarcane or palm sap, can last a long time if stored correctly. Generally, it can remain good for anywhere between 6 months to 2 years, depending on how it’s kept. To maintain its freshness and quality, following a few straightforward guidelines is essential.
Storage Tips for Long Shelf Life:
Keep it in an Airtight Container: Once you buy or open Best jaggery powder, transfer it to a sealed, airtight container. This helps keep moisture out, preventing clumping or mold growth.
Store in a Cool, Dry Place: It’s best to keep jaggery powder away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity. A pantry or kitchen cabinet works well. Avoid areas near the stove or windows where temperatures can fluctuate.
Avoid Moisture Exposure: Moisture is a major threat to jaggery powder. If it absorbs moisture, it can spoil quickly or develop mold. Always ensure your hands and utensils are dry when you handle it.
Check for Signs of Spoilage: If the jaggery powder starts to smell off, changes color, or clumps with visible mold, it’s time to throw it away. However, if stored properly, it can last a long time without spoiling.
Signs of Degradation:
While jaggery powder doesn’t have a specific expiration date, its flavor can diminish over time. It may become less sweet or develop an unusual taste if it’s past its prime.
In summary, by keeping jaggery powder in a cool, dry place in an airtight container, you can preserve its freshness for months or even years. Just be sure to keep an eye out for any changes in texture, taste, or appearance.
