Not Anonymous - Waking To The Fear Of A New Dawn
Ranbir Kaleka - creative uses of single channel and triptych
To convey a fell of installation Kaleka uses perspective, overlaying and resizing to create depth between the images. His imagery embraces the spiritual and ancestral to convey the feelings of marginalisation felt by many. the focus on weather and landscape give a feeling of otherness and the relentless arrows combined with imagery of animals help convey the meanings of oppression or subjugation as well as belief and memory. Kaleka’s work is useful in understanding how to effectively use multiple simultaneous frames and will consider these methods if i go down the route of multiple frames.

House of Opaque Water and the use of triptych
another piece by artist Ranbir Kaleka which uses space and installation as a means of heightening aesthetic value is this triptych. The triptych is a staple mode of installation or format and has been used for centuries in various ways. I intend to use it during the piece as both a method of communication and to add aesthetic weight. the poetic beauty of this piece also resonates beyond that, the flooding in bengal caused severe losses for the people of sudarbans, The Sheikh Lal Mohan narrates the chaos, calling the vast expanse of water his home, Mohan voices the challenges of his community with which they put up all the time.

Water is the most important thing for the survival of human beings because man cannot live without water for a single moment. The coastal region of Bangladesh faces pure drinking water crisis due to saline water intrusion and iron content of tube wells where pond sand filter (PSF) is using as alternative water supply system of southwestern coastal region specially Sudarban region of Bangladesh. This study was conducted to assess the quality of water and evaluate and compare the performance of these technologies at Mongla Upazila of Bagerhat District. For this purpose 24 water samples from six PSFs, eight protected pond (PP) and two reverse osmosis (RO) were collected and analyzed in the pre monsoon season. Different physico-chemical and biological parameters such as pH, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solid (TDS), salinity, turbidity, ammonium (NH4+), total hardness, total alkalinity, Chloride (Cl-), total coliform and fecal coliform were measured both in PSFs and PP water.

Factors That Make Sundarban A Popular Tourist Destination
Sundarban is the largest delta not only in India but in the world. It comprises almost 10,200 sq.km. of dense mangrove forest spread over Bangladesh and India in a 60:40 ratio. The part of Sundarban that belongs to India is known as Sudarbans National Park situated in the extreme south of West Bengal.
The 1/3rd area of Sundarban is covered by sultry marsh and water body. The region is named after Sundari trees – the major fauna in Sundarban though the key attraction of the place is Royal Bengal Tigers.
Sundarban Quick Facts – At A Glance
Sundarban is known as a Tiger Reserve, National Park and a Biosphere Reserve located in West Bengal, India.
Existing Sundarban National Park was declared to be the core area of the Tiger Reserve in the year 1973 while it was declared to be a wildlife sanctuary in 1977. It was declared as a National Park on 4th May, 1984.
Sundarban was declared to be a UNESCO World Heritage in the year 1987 while it was declared as a Biosphere Reserve two years later.
As already mentioned, this is the largest delta comprising 10,200 sq. km. of dense and thick mangrove forest.
40% of the forest belongs to India while the rest belongs to Bangladesh.
The Indian part of Sundarban is famous as Sundarbans National Park.
Sundarban is the largest and rarest reserves for Royal Bengal Tigers.
Sundarban is the home to a wide variety of reptiles, birds as well as many invertebrate species.
This is a natural and safe resort to many endangered animals such as Giant Lizards, Jungle Fowl, Wild Boar, Spotted Dear, Salt Water Crocodiles and lots more. Siberian Ducks also set up their residence in this territory during migratory season. Some rare animals like King Crabs, Batagur Baska and Olive Ridley Turtles are also found in Sundarban.
The 4000 sq. km. area of India side of Sundarban encompasses 102 islands. Rivers or waterways are the only mode of transportation between islands. Only 54 of 102 islands are inhabited while the rest are forested.
The last and the biggest inhabited part of Sundarban is Gosaba. From Gosaba the hugely dense forest of Indian side of Sundarban starts. The most unique fact about Gosaba is that it has its own self-governance government officials, hospitals, schools and Panchayats.
The local people of Sundarban survive mainly on local vegetables and fishes. They suffer from the scarcity of fresh drinking water. The cyclone Sidr that hit Sundarban in 2007 with a wind speed of 220kmph to 250kmph severely affected the agricultural pattern as well as ecosystem of the forest. It inundated the major agricultural fields of Sundarban area with salty water that it took more than 2 years for the local people to cultivate again.
Phytoplanktons are the micro organisms to reflect light at dark new-moon night. So if night safari in Sundarban is on your Sundarban Tour itinerary, don’t skip to see phytoplankton.
These are a few facts that make Sundarban mysterious yet attractive to the tourists.
