Roasted leg of baby lamb. This dish is the specialty of Castilian y Lyon region in central Spain. However, I had this dish in this southern Spain town of Benahavis, a town that is known as the gourmet center in Andalusia, the southern region of Spain. This leg of baby lamb was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender, juicy, fully of delicious meat flavor but without a strong gamy taste. It was the best lamb dish I have ever had. We paired this dish with a glass of young Ribera del Duero that still has a lot of red and black berry fruit in it. They worked really well together. If you ever visit Andalusia around Malaga and Marbella, I highly recommend you rent a car or take a 25-minute taxi ride and visit Benahavis.
