Sorry, I'm in a mood, anyway, my evil heroes in the Cats fandom are:
The people behind the decade old Youtube comments telling people not to ship Tugger and Misto because they're brothers.
The one, single person during the Great Kittencourse of 2019 who told people not to ship Tugger and Misto because Misto's not an adult.
I don't agree with them but they serve as proof that when Cats antis start canon-policing, they only mean the canon they personally like and agree with.
#for people who don't know how ridiculous it is to even have ANY canon-policing in this fandom#cats has multiple explicitly contradictory pieces of canon#such as one official website referring to two characters as twin siblings#while an actress of one of those characters confirmed them as unrelated romantic interests#there's actually TWO examples of this with two different sets of characters#there is literally no canon in this show#other than the general storyline#and very basic personality traits to work off of for characters

Takechiyo could be InuKag's unknown son.
I frequently refer to my theory that Takechiyo is actually InuKag's son in disguise and rightfully get a lot of wtf reactions. It's been hard to explain because my theory posts on the matter are short and scattered so this is a comprehensive round up of them and also includes new evidence.
The Q&A format worked so well for the illusion theory posts so I am going to use that again.
I am going to address the most asked question first:
How can a full demon tanuki be the son of a dog hanyo and human?
First, I think Yashahime is all or partially an illusion and that several characters have appearances and/or powers that are different in the real world.
If I am wrong about the illusion theory, it could be that just Takechiyo himself is physically illusioned to look like a tanuki. His powers could be the result of some kind of magical artifact similar to a rainbow pearl.
Or it could be an actual rainbow pearl. The following will be confusing if you are not familiar my Wuxing 5 phases theory. I believe Takechiyo will represent the Wood/Kagome/Konton phase. The Wood phase has two associated colors of scarlet and green and might have two pearls too. While I think Konton has the real pearls associated with Wood, I could be wrong. Jyubei was shown with a large green orb. Maybe Takechiyo has the other "wood" pearl and it's hidden under his "turtle shell". This would be a nice parallel to Moroha having hers in a shell.
Why do think InuKag has a son and that it's Takechiyo?
When I devised my theory that the Perils are representations of the missing parents and connected Tokotsu to Inuyasha, I wondered if Jakotsumaru was an indication that InuKag also had a son.
Takechiyo seemed the most likely candidate for the following reasons:
He has a connection to Hachi who was also entrusted with Moroha. If this theory is true then Hachi was probably also given Takechiyo to hide and protect. That could be why he is disguised.
It's assumed Hachi is his father/relative but Takechiyo was referred to as a "young lord" by Jyūbei, keeping in line with how the InuKag family is referred to as lord and lady. True, Hachi was called an "Elder" but he was officially noted to be Miroku's servant/vassal in Inuyasha promotional extras. That's certainly not lord material.
Admittedly, this is just a personal interpretation, but all of Moroha and Takechiyo's interactions feel like squabbling siblings. Particularly when Takechiyo was bossing her around when she was cleaning the corpse shop. It felt like a little brother getting revenge on a bossy older sister after years of being at her mercy.
Relatedly, Takechiyo seems annoyed but resigned, and at times, indulgent, of Moroha's mistreatment of him. Like a little brother would be.
I think Takechiyo somehow knows they are siblings. I think Moroha knows she has a brother but not that it's Takechiyo. When she was sad about being alone, Takechiyo seemed annoyed as if he was thinking, you have me, even if you don't know it.
What are the clues/evidence?
In my Perils/parents theory, I connect Kagome to Konton. Konton has two fu dogs I think are based on InuKag. I believe the preview pics Yashahime puts out are used for foreshadowing and to convey hints. They choose to release the following picture of the "Kagome" beast, the angle suggests it is a pregnant female with the hint of breasts and a round belly, perhaps hinting she has another child.
In that same episode, we meet Meifuko, who in my illusion theory I think is a composite character representing Shippo and Takechiyo. We have another father/son duo, reflecting Tokotsu/Jakotsumaru. I think they made Takechiyo's flight form resemble a giant turtle so we would associate him with Meifuko. Moroha's interactions with Meifuko were like how she acts with Takechiyo.
Takechiyo, Meifuko and baby Moroha all look very similar.
Two last points involving Meifuko... Sunrise released the following preview pics. One with Meifuko hiding behind Moroha like a scared little sibling would. And another where the siblings Towa and Setsuna are paired together with similar expressions and so are Moroha and Meifuko, in fact their mouths are almost exactly the same.
I think Sunrise is trying to hint at a sibling relationship by often pairing up Moroha and Takechiyo when Towa/Setsuna are. This includes preview pics or additional photos posted on the twitter/website, merch and the occasional plot line.
For example, they were paired up for the dream gazing sequence.
Also, Sunrise made the following merch and I truly believe it's major purpose was to give a hint to the sibling relationship by having Moroha and Takechiyo in the same position as the known siblings.
There's also the sleeping merch where Moroha and Takechiyo are shown with hands balled up by their faces and with open drooling mouths. The latter being shared with Inuyasha.
Another hint is this scene of puffy Takechiyo. It calls to mind the puffy InuKag in the Inuyasha episode with the two young mikos.
Takechiyo is given more importance in merch and promotional material than his role really warrants if he is just minor character/discount Shippo. I think this is because he will be revealed to be more significant than we realize.
His color scheme is associated with the the InuKag family. There's a lot of red in his clothing. The merch is usually brown or green which would be associated with Kagome and the wood phase. Another associations with the latter is in his name which contains the kanji for bamboo.
Maybe a clue but I noticed that Inuyasha has two fingers raised in his website profile pic and I have found that the profile pictures are a treasure trove of hints. Are the two fingers for two children? Probably not but maybe.
Takechiyo has an out of place (time) "shell" phone. Could just be a silly gag. Or maybe Kagome commissioned someone to make a magical cell phone type device. A big deal was made about giving the shell rouge to thier daughter. Maybe they had a "shell" gift for their son too.
In the new opening we see a series of shots of the twins and Moroha sitting on a set of steps. The first shot shows an empty set. This could be a indication of missing children and that someone should be sitting there.
That's it for now. It's admittedly shaky but I have a good feeling about it.
It's also possible that Takechiyo is Shippo if is truly someone in disguise.
Also I am not yet sure if the fact that he could be a Zashiki Warashi is connected to any of this. It's likely though.

• Tycoons is a mix-gendered, dual-membered Korean idol group formed under JYP Entertainment. They debuted back in January 2017 with their first song MAFIA as well as their first self-titled album. Their early music started out with hard-hitting hip-hop and trap influenced sounds with solid beats and a unique twist on popular chords and melodies, but later down the line evolved to incorporate more vocal-work and upbeat pop sounds with softer beats that were easier on the ears but kept a small bit of that hip hop/trap influence to still keep it interesting and fresh.
━━━━━━━━━★
★━━━━━━━━
• Tycoons are well known for their 'crime boss' aesthetic that encompasses the main storyline surrounding their characters that were heavily featured in their aforementioned debut album and the albums that will come after. As they branch out into doing other concepts with time however, they have consequently strayed away from their original aesthetic, and in turn has not settled in well with a portion of their fanbase, causing a 'bias epidemic' between supporters of Tycoons' effort to try something aside from their normal concept and supporters of Tycoons' dark concept whom desire to see Tycoons return to doing said concept.

• Tycoons are JYP Entertainment's third duo group and officially debuted on January 3rd, 2017. The duo consisted of fraternal twin siblings Jeon Sanghoon (전상훈) and Jeon Sangmi (전상미) under the stage names of Tyke and Carmen respectively. The siblings were successfully accepted as trainees in the year 2009 but originally auditioned as a duo. According to the CEO, he wanted to see the twins as individuals as he had plans to put them in separate groups, but they never ended up making the cut and have faded into the background because of it. Fast forward to June of 2016 when the CEO called the siblings in for a meeting. He requested to see the both of them perform as a duo just to see if he liked it. The siblings performed one of their old songs that they composed when they first auditioned with their old ukelele, and the reception was fairly positive. Two months pass and the CEO called the siblings back in. He wanted to let them know that he's planning on debuting the two of them as a group and the two were absolutely ecstatic. Throughout mid-August to the end of December 2016, the twins worked all day and night on the album, writing and producing, as well as directing their own action scenes throughout the music videos for Tycoons the album, but they waited after New Years as they needed to clean up after the New Year's party to finally make their big debut.

• Tycoons' fanbase are called 'Capos' (🔊/ˈkäpōs,ˈkapōs/ n. singular: Capo). In the Mafia, the Capo (or caporegime) are the captains or lieutenants of a division within the Mafia. They head a crew of soldiers and report news directly to a boss or underboss, whom hands down the instructions/orders for the Capos to assign to whatever division they captain. Basically, Tycoons want to know what their fanbase think of their music and want to be as engaging with their fans as possible, so they thought the noun would work best with their aesthetic and the message they want the name to represent. The fanbase itself though, is split in half and rather 'toxic.' Ever since Tycoons released their first mini album titled Highs N Lows [which was a safe step outside their comfort zone], the part of fanbase that are loyal to Tycoons' normal aesthetic that wanted them staying in that place began rioting online, sending all kinds of threats and filing petitions to get JYP to change Tycoons' aesthetic [because the fandom considers it as 'betraying their original, ideal story', as one fan stated]. While the side of the fandom that supports whatever Tycoons decide to do tried to dampen the other's passion [which it was unsuccessful without a doubt], some fans have converted to the opposing side on both ends, which lead this never-ending battle between the Capos lasting for almost a year. Thankfully, all the threats and attempts to file the petition have been shut down and Tycoons have released an official statement that covers what they'd like to do comfortably now and in the future. This has also lead the supportive Capos to dub the unsupportive Capos as 'Soldiers', as the rank was the lowest in the Mafia hierarchy, exactly below the Capos [as a reference for their unruly and petty behaviour].

How Old is Mario? The Many Mysteries and Myths of the Character’s Age
https://ift.tt/2N503x3
As the years go on, one of the few consistents in gaming remains Mario and the quality of most of the major Super Mario Bros. games. While it sometimes feels like Mario has always been with us and will remain a video game mainstay for years to come, the character’s remarkable longevity does nothing to answer that question that has plagued us for over 35 years: “How old is Mario?”
It’s easy to answer that question if you’re talking about the Super Mario franchise or even the birth of the character from a creation standpoint, but when you’re trying to figure out how old Mario is in the Super Mario universe and the grand Nintendo chronology…well, that’s where things get tricky.
I can’t guarantee that looking into this subject will offer an answer that you’ll be satisfied with, but if you’re just interested in diving deeper into this particular rabbit hole, here’s a slightly more exhaustive attempt to answer a question that has proven to be much more complicated than you’d ever guess it would be.
Shigeru Miyamoto Says Mario Is 24-25 Years Old…Wait, What?
Let’s start with what is one of the only “direct” pieces of information we have on the subject of Mario’s age.
In a 2005 interview first published on Nintendo Japan’s website, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto stated that Nintendo didn’t really “put any restrictions on Mario as a character” aside from the fact that “he’s about 24-25 years old.”
Like the rest of the world, you’re probably raising an eyebrow at that suggestion. We’ll dive into the various reasons your doubt is justified here in a bit, but let’s start with the fact that Mario certainly doesn’t look like he’s 24-25.
So far as that goes, there are a few possible explanations. The first, and most likely, is that this is honestly one of those things that Nintendo doesn’t really care about and hasn’t put too much thought into. As such, the consistent design of the character is probably more important to them than this quote Miyamoto gave years ago. Much like the popularity of the character, they probably see Mario as something close to immortal.
If you’d like to go a little deeper than that, you could argue that Mario has aged since Miyamoto made that statement. After all, Miyamoto would have made that statement around the time of Super Mario‘s 20th anniversary, so that number would have made a little more sense when viewed strictly from that perspective.
As others have pointed out, this could also be a matter of Miyamoto suggesting that Mario has the physical capabilities of a person that age (no doubt due to his consistent jumping exercise routines). While I’d lean more towards the “Mario is immortal” argument, there’s something to be said for the idea that Miyamoto was measuring Mario’s age via his physical abilities.
Shigeru Miyamoto Has Called Mario a “Weird Old Dude”
While Miyamoto has only offered the 24-25 age range as a direct response to questions about Mario’s age, he has previously made statements that somewhat contradict that information.
For instance, in a 1996 interview for a Japanese strategy guide, Miyamoto was asked about Mario’s “unrealistic” movements. Here’s what he had to say on the subject:
“With 3D, little ‘lies’ like that can go unnoticed. So we lied a lot! I mean, Mario is this weird old dude who can jump 3 times his height… so who’s counting? (laughs)”
Ok, “old” can be a subjective term, but it’s certainly a strange word to use to describe someone who is in their mid-twenties. If pressed to guess, I’d say that Miyamoto had it in his head that Mario was older at one point but later decided to keep the character in his physical prime. That or he was, you know, joking.

When is Mario’s Birthday?
Ah, here’s another great question about Mario’s age that’s genuinely quite confusing. Actually, most people point to three possibilities in regards to Mario’s birthday.
The first popular theory is that Mario’s birthday is on March 10, aka “Mar10 Day.” However, the concept of Mario Day appears to have been created by fans who wanted to celebrate Mario and couldn’t pass up the chance to use such a clever date to do so. Nintendo acknowledges the day, but it doesn’t seem to be “canon.”
Some fans also suggest that Mario’s birthday could be September 13: the day that Super Mario Bros. was released in Japan. However, Nintendo typically just treats that day as the anniversary of that game and the Super Mario franchise. Besides, Mario previously appeared in both Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong. Actually, if you want to use those releases as a metric, you could say that Mario was “born” in 1981 when Donkey Kong was developed and released (even if the character in that game wasn’t originally named Mario). Again, though, That’s really just a matter of Mario “the creation’s” birth date vs. the character’s birth date.
Interestingly, strong evidence suggests the “official” answer to this question (or at least the month and day) may be October 11. At least that’s the day that Nintendo listed Mario’s birthday as in an old issue of Nintendo Power:
Happy birthday Mario! A calendar included with the second issue of Nintendo Power states that Mario’s birthday is October 11 (and reaffirmed in the following issue). Image 1 Via: https://t.co/dqXMvrGLrd Image 2 Via: https://t.co/rxBgXjZz7g pic.twitter.com/fWnUNPLyis

Nintendo Games Are Inconsistent About Mario’s Age
Anyone who has tried to keep up with The Legend of Zelda‘s timeline probably won’t be too surprised to learn that Nintendo has been somewhat…inconsistent with Mario’s age over the years.
For instance, in Super Smash Bros. Melee, it’s suggested that Mario is actually 26. It’s not that big of an age difference from the 24-25 range Miyamoto suggested, but given that it’s apparently one of the few things about Mario the company has defined, it’s certainly interesting that there would be any variation in his age.
Other games make passing references to Mario’s possible age that absolutely contradict that 24-25 estimate. For instance, Paper Mario: Color Splash makes an off-hand reference to a 30 year battle between Mario and Bowser. Again, that number makes sense if the game’s developers are just commenting on the anniversary of the franchise, but that idea doesn’t really gel with Mario’s suggested age.
Don’t even get us started on Baby Mario. While that character’s first appearance in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island suggests that Baby Mario was, in fact, Mario as a baby, we’ve seen numerous games since then that show Baby Mario and Mario working side by side. There’s a loose explanation for this in some games, but this is really just one of those things that Nintendo has thrown their hands up at over the years.
Mario’s Actors Are Typically Between 40-60
If you were hoping that the age of some of the people who have played/voiced Mario over the years might shine a little light on this subject, I’ve got some bad news for you. Here’s a look at a few of the notable actors that have portrayed Mario over the years and their rough age at the time they took on the role.
“Capt.” Lou Albano (The Super Mario Bros. Show) – 56
Bob Hoskins (Super Mario Bros. Movie) – 51
Peter Cullen (Saturday Supercade) – 42
Charles Martinet (at the time of Super Mario 64‘s release) – 41
There have been a few other Mario voice actors over the years that usually fall into that rough 40-60 age range, but the point is that Nintendo typically casts older people to portray the character. We’ll see if that streak changes in the Super Mario Bros. animated movie that is currently scheduled to be released in 2022.
Is Mario Older Than Luigi?
The good news is that Lugi has fairly consistently been described as Mario’s younger brother over the years. However, Nintendo has been inconsistent (try to be surprised) in regards to exactly how much older Mario is.
In a 1990 comic called Family Album ‘The Early Years,” we see baby Mario as an only child for quite some time before Luigi is mentioned. This implies that Mario is several years older.
However, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island suggests that the two are actually twins who are roughly the same age. Again, that game raises a lot of questions about Mario’s age, but Nintendo has seemingly stuck with the “twins” explanation since then. Luigi has referred to Mario as an older brother in several games, and titles like Super Paper Mario use the “twins” description when referencing the siblings.
As best as anyone can guess based on the available information, Luigi is likely just minutes (or hours) younger than Mario rather than years. That would mean that Luigi is also in his mid-twenties but still younger than Mario.
How Old Was Mario Segale (The Man Who Inspired Mario’s Name)?
In case you didn’t know, the name “Mario” was inspired by a man named Mario Segale who owned a warehouse that Nintendo rented in the ’80s. The story goes that Nintendo decided to rename “Jumpman” in Donkey Kong to “Mario” in the American version of the game following an incident in which Segale yelled at former Nintendo of America president Minoru Arakawa over overdue rent.
In case you’re wondering, Segale would have been about 49 at the time of Super Mario Bros.‘ release in Japan. While that age range is pretty consistent with the actors that Nintendo cast for early portrayals of Mario, this could actually be a dead end as there is no official indication that Mario’s physical attributes were strictly based on Segale.
So How Old is Mario, Really?
Well, we’re not going to argue with Miyamoto’s age range suggestion, but if we’re trying to make sense of that age based on everything that we do know, I’d conclude that Mario is as physically healthy as a 24-25-year-old, is minutes to hours older than Luigi, was born in October, and not only doesn’t seem to age but actually may have gotten younger over time in the minds of Nintendo’s artists and designers.
