My current favourite crackship that I just created myself is Hiyori×Alive!Kuina. Just because if she can't get Zoro she'll just go for his cousin instead.

Hiyori is easily one of my favorite characters and I love her SO much and people won't stop reducing her to her ship with Zoro. I think she doesn't need anybody and if she did want somebody it should be a girl. Because I say so. And Kuina is just,,, She would've been such a great character. Can't stop thinking about this fanart I found because it has changed my life for the better. She's in Wano to train to become the world's greatest swordsman and I'm just thinking about what if Kuina had been there to help them out too and she had been the one to save Hiyori all those times instead of Zoro.... Thinking thoughts. Like, of course, Hiyori and Zoro also have their moments because I do actually like their dynamic and I think she admires him a lot!! But you know. Kuina saves Hiyori a couple of times (when Zoro was going to do it, actually, she just appears like a second before him and ruins his moment) and Hiyori just melts. Because who wouldn't? Kuina would be so tall and strong and a sizeable woman, and I would personally die if she helped me save my country. Besides, I think they'd understand each other because both are women that have been reduced to that role specifically instead of their ambitions and their power and they're so much more. Hiyori was helpless when she had to see her country turn into this mess and she couldn't so anything else but to pretend,, Like-- If somebody knows how being a woman in the world works is Hiyori, and Kuina would understand. She'd admire Kuina so much for her abilities and her personality and ambitions!!!!!! And Kuina would absolutely love Hiyori's kindness and strength for being able to put up with so much!!!

Not to mention that Kuina would be taller than her,,, And bigger,,, And Hiyori would have to look up,, And this is now just the aesthetic part but God they'd look so different. That's Hiyori's guard dog. Wouldn't it be funny if Kuina were all serious and teasing with Zoro and like "*raises eyebrow* seriously?" type of masc girl, and the second Hiyori is around she turns into the happiest person in the world and extremely protective of her? Zoro judges her but he can't say shit because he's literally the same with Luffy (and Kuina teases him even more because she always has the upper hand and it makes him so angry). They're both down bad. Hiyori is just so nice to her and keeps saying she trusts her to become the world's greatest swordsman but even if she doesn't, she'll always have her heart and a place to stay in Wano. And I am weak, guys, I am so weak for lesbians.

Aghhh this is SO good. Somebody make them kiss. I- This is great. Oda could just say "ah yes Kuina actually escaped her hometown on her own and faked her death and traveled to Wano" and I'd believe him wholeheartedly because I want her back. I also want Hiyori back. I miss Wano sometimes a lot.

Also, Kuina sees Zoro with Enma and she goes:

Reshma:

Alienated simply because she was rich and Marinette saw a photo of her in a magazine with Chloé for some charity gala, and immediately assumed the worst

Marinette spread a rumor back when they were twelve that she and Chloé are friends, making it hard for Reshma to make any friends for herself

Denise:

Reprimanded by Ladybug in front of dozens of people for “vigilantism” when really, they just punched an Akuma before it could attack Simon

When they commissioned a dress, Marinette explained that she didn’t quite have enough fabric for Denise’s build, even when Denise made serval offers to pay double. She didn’t wanna “waste” fabric. (I’ll give some of ya’ll a moment to think about what that means)

Jean:

Pressured into giving up the lead role in a play to Adrien so Marinette could kiss him

He got Akumatized because of that, and received a harsh lecture for Ladybug over forgiveness or some shit, and Marinette never apologized to him

And when the Cure took effect, instead of asking if she was alright, Ladybug had the gall to reprimand her and Chat in front dozens od people for their “recklessness”, and Lacey was forced to take some shitty seminar of safety and shit even though she’s gone through all the regulations of what she can and can’t do

Zoé:

Unwillingly dragged into the cringe Adrinette plans despite her constantly saying no, only to be met with some clear gaslighting from Marinette

When she told Marinette about how she was bullied at school, this girl made it all about herself and talked about how she was constantly bullied by Chloé until Zoé faked being sick and left… Then Marinette texted her the rest of her story when she got home

Aurore:

Aurore has a habit of correcting people, not to be rude, just so they don’t make the mistake again. When Ladybug was having a hard time figuring out what to do with her Lucky Charm, and her method would have put lives in danger, Aurore rushed in and used the Lucky Charm in a way that wouldn’t have risked the lives of probably dozens

And although Aurore received praise from the citizens for her quick thinking, Ladybug was pissed, scolded Aurore for behaving so recklessly without a Miraculous, and told everyone to never follow her example. This public scene got Aurore suspended from being the weather girl for a while until some protesters backed her up

Mireille:

When Marinette heard she was going to a party with Adrien thanks to her dad’s connections, she kept trying to “coerce” Mireille into making her her plus-one. But Mireille said no dozens of time and in a fit of jealousy, Marinette moved the “wet floor” sign and Mireille tripped and fell on the floor, allowing Marinette to steal her ticket

While on bed rest, Mireille turned the tv on and saw Marinette in a pink evening dress holding Adrien’s hand and going on about how Mireille was so nice to give up her ticket to her since she couldn’t go

Austin A:

As revenge for a bad review on her website, Marinette stole his makeup bag and swapped out his face cream for something Austin’s allergic to. So, when Austin used it, his skin broke out in hives and he had to go to the hospital

When he returned to school, he heard Marinette going on to her friends about how he deserved what happened. The worst part of this is that the bad review was warranted. The scarf he commissioned unraveled easily

Austin B:

He decided to try out for the Mecha Strike tournament because Max was out sick and wouldn’t be able to compete. He won, and gets to play alongside Adrien. But, then! Marinette swoops in and steals his position

Then she rubs it in his face in private, telling him the school doesn’t need “another Chloé” representing them

During a school bake sale, more customers were going to his booth instead of hers, she got jealous and made backhanded compliments about how “his pastries are so good that Austins clearly enjoys them himself” (Give y’all a moment to think about what she meant)

When Ladybug came fo the school as a guest speaker to speak about abuse, she used Austin and Jean as an example when talking about dating violence, implying that Austin is an emotional abuser and questioning why Jean wears so many long-sleeve shirts

She’s forced to give up her Miraculous to someone WAY more competent, and that takes care of one problem. While she’s getting the martyr treatment, we expose Marinette for the person she truly is in and out of the mask. She loses everything, and we win.

gaze upon this picture. i have been gazing upon this picture for a good time now. It's in the encyclopedia's page for Fairy Woods, and offers us the neat trivia that this house, right next to the inn, is Elric's house, and that this old lady is his mom. Sweet, right? I thought it was a nice fact to learn, I almost shared it here as soon as I translated because it's very nice. I even had a whole discussion ready as to how she doesn't have an elf sprite but that's okay since this game seems to be limited in NPC sprites and implies some of the seemingly human NPCs are not actually human. I had this whole thing in my mind.

What I didn't have in mind is a working memory. This woman is not from the final version of the game.

In the final version, she uses the actual elf villager sprite, which is used very sparingly, only here and in Tristan. So I guess for once they actually had the time to make a sprite of the proper species.

The odd thing however is, the encyclopedia's text refers to her as an elderly woman, which, feels more adequate for the previous sprite, with actual grey hair. I initially assumed this one to be too young to even call an adult, but looking closely it seems heavily based on Mitula's sprite actually, so it's valid actually. And given that many indicators of old age don't really come across in a tiny sprite, we can extrapolate a bit if we want an older lady.

(and before anyone starts on the topic of "but should elves look old??? Look at Tyrin. They certainly can at least. Also I want them to)

so yeah, i initially made this post to be all "boo they robbed me of an old elf lady", and i do think they could have make a sprite for this specifically, as I said this elf sprite is hardly ever used again besides this spot, so it is a case of not caring of badly organizing the sprite process (why does the pacalon princess has a whole unique sprite??? why is it better than the playable centaur sprites??? woman has two lines and they're optional). But, that was very pathetic of me. We can take our dreams into our own hands. With enough effort, we can have as many old elf ladies as we want.
