I haven’t gotten this close to friends and family lately. Looking forward to shooting up close again. These were Hasselblad portraits I shot a few years ago for a @subtextgallery group show. We all shot one roll of film on medium format, in this case, I shot 12 portraits close up over a couple of weeks on one roll of 120 Kodak Tri-X. These ran cropped from square format in @encinitasmag . I plan on shooting portraits again after this pandemic has waned. "Snowfall" by Sarah Joncas @sarah_joncas 9 x 12, Graphite & Ink on Paper for the collection. Come to her "Opening Reception" with the Artist: Friday, May 23rd, 6-10pm As we welcome summer, we are happy to host Sarah Joncas in her first solo exhibition at Subtext Gallery. Joncas is a recent graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, and she currently resides and works out of Toronto, Canada. In a few short years, she shown at galleries across the country and has made a name for herself with her very distinct style and mysterious character-driven pieces. Snake in the Grass is a noir inspired body of work reminiscent of the 1940s, filled by long shadows and melodramatic narratives.
