Percy Jackson Keychain Giveaway - AKM Edition
Tumblr media
Hi! As per the title, I am going to giveaway PJO keychains - AKM Edition (which is the AU I created). I'm sharing it now because I want it to reach as many interested parties as possible. I will keep this pinned on my account as well. There will be a total of 15 designs (9 solo and 6 pairs), 5 keychains each, for a total of 75 keychains (total 75 winners). Below is a list of all the characters/pairs:
Nico
Aeon/Chronos
Alabaster
Hazel *
Reyna *
Percy
Jason
Erebus *
Ananke *
Nico & Aeon
Nico & Alabaster
Nico & Hazel *
Nico & Reyna *
Nico & Percy
Nico & Jason
* Remaining designs to be posted in the future, closer to the date.
A special and many thanks to @nyankocatnyan for all the awesome designs so far! Please check them out if you want to commission from them!
Why are you doing a giveaway? I always wanted PJO keychains, but there is a MOQ when you want this stuff made. I have no intention of selling/profiting, hence this giveaway. Also, I suppose, it's just sharing some positivity to everyone else.
How do I qualify? 1) Not a bot, 2) PJO fan, and 3) Tumblr account (for contact). You don't even need to be following me or be my mutual.
How do I enter? You need to fill up one of the forms (either solo chibi form or pair chibi form) that will be made available on August 27, 2024, 11pm SGT. Here is the timing for other zones:
Tumblr media
The forms will be active from August 27 - September 3. It will be closed on September 3, 3024 at 11pm SGT. You don't need to rush to fill up the forms. This is NOT "First come, first serve." Please read the forms carefully, and make sure you submit the correct details.
You can only fill up one form (chibi form or pair form). Make sure you fill up the correct one as I will only consider your 1st submission (unless the one you really want has low demand, then I will consider).
4. How will I know if I won? I will post the results here on Tumblr on September 8, 2024, at 11pm SGT and tag said winners. From September 8 - 15, I will be sending the winners a link to a new google form for them to fill up for the delivery details of the keychain they won. (Please make sure I can message your inbox/messages.)
5. What if I won but don't respond to your message? You're essentially giving up your keychain to another person. The above period is fixed. One week is enough time to respond.
6. Do I have to pay for anything? Unless you are opting for fast delivery and/or tracked delivery, then no. I'm covering the shipping costs.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I'm not liable if package is lost if 1) You give wrong address after I confirm it with you. 2) Other reasons outside of my control. If the package gets returned to me, I will attempt to send it a second time. But if it still gets returned a 3rd time, I will give it to someone else.
7. When will it reach me? Kindly refer to the "Ordinary Mail- Air". Please note, however, that this is just an estimate. It will ultimately depend on your country's postal services.
Tumblr media
8. I'm iffy about giving out my name and address. How can I trust you? I have to give my name and address for the return address in case the keychain doesn't get delivered. That's my trust to 75 of you. It's up to you if you wish to trust me back. I can only say that I will delete the forms once all the keychains are sent out, since there is no further use for them.
9. Will you have another batch of these keychains in the future? Nope. This is the one and only time. Which is why if you want one, I encourage you to participate.
10. What do you want in return? I want to joke something about firstborn here, but I guess it might not be appropriate LOL! Umm, nothing significant. All I want, and this is optional, is when you do receive, to share with me - or with everyone else via post - that you received the keychain. That's it.
BONUS: I'm pretty sure there was a post about a Luke keychain... 👀
That will be a separate post lol! Maybe around September/October. I'm still working out if I just want Luke and Ethan, or if I want one with Luke, Ethan and Alabaster. Something like that.
-----
Giveaway Timeline:
August 6, 2024: Posting about the giveaway
August 27, 2024: Official post with the google forms for interested individuals to fill up
September 3, 2024: Forms will be closed
September 4-7, 2024: Checking of accounts
September 8, 2024: Eligible participants' account names will be placed on the "Wheel of Names" to get the names of the lucky winners. Results to be posted as well
September 8-15, 2024: Contact winning accounts to confirm delivery details
mid-September - November 2024: Sending out of the keychains*
* Delivery might be split into two parts. It depends on the keychain production and, er, budget.
The forms will have terms & conditions (most already stated here), and hence would answer most questions you will probably have. But, if you have questions you wish to address now, feel free to send an ask. (Please don't spam my messages, thank you.)
P.S. Please be kind to anyone you're interacting with in this post.

˗ˏˋ INFO FOR SPONSORS/REQUESTERS ˎˊ˗
Please check the spreadsheet (linked at the bottom of this post) before making your donation or filling out the form so you can see what is still available. Slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Initially, we will only accept one request per person since we want to give everyone a chance to make a request. If—after two weeks—there are still slots available, then people may come back and make additional requests if they would like to do so. We will be accepting requests over the month of August (once we have the list of participating writers and the available fandom slots finalized). You can make your request using the request form link; this is the preferred method as it streamlines the work we have to do on our end. However, we recognize that due to Google Form requirements, any form that includes a photo attachment forces you to sign in with a Google account. If you’d like, you may also send us your request via our inbox off anon.
Tumblr media
The instructions for filling out the form or sending us an ask are as follows:
Share your Tumblr URL. We must verify that you are over the age of 18, and we also need to know who you are so we can contact you if there are any issues with your request
Attach proof of your donation to a vetted fundraiser for Gaza. The donation must be at least $5 USD. Please note that the writers are instructed to write a minimum of 500 words and a maximum of 1000 words; you may donate more than $5, but doing so does not guarantee a longer fic. All requests will be treated equally—regardless of the amount donated.
Tell us the character you want written and the fandom they are from, as well as the kink from the prompt list you would like to see. You can refer to the spreadsheet to see which slots are available to choose from. Also, please provide a backup choice. This is necessary in the event that your first choice becomes unavailable, or no one is able to fulfill your request
You may indicate a preference for the reader’s gender, and you may also indicate a writer who you would like to see complete your request. But these specifications are going to be taken as suggestions and are not guaranteed; however, we will try our best to accommodate your preferences. If you have no preferences, we will select a writer to fulfill your prompt using a random number generator and ask the writer to write a gender neutral reader if possible.
↳ As requests are sent in, we will assign prompts to writers. We will also vet all the donation receipts, act as liaisons between requesters and writers, and take care of the logistics. By the end of August we will close the request form to give the writers an entire month (all of September) to fulfill their assigned request(s). Each writer will be assigned a “due date” in October to post their fic.
↳ We ask that you please have some mode of communication open (i.e. your DMs or your ask box) so that we can contact you should any issues arise.
↳ Overall, we hope that this arrangement will satisfy all participants. We anticipate some hiccups along the way—planning this event has been logistically difficult—but our goal is to host a successful Kinktober!
↳ If you have any questions, you can check our Kinktober FAQ page. If you do not see your questions answered there, you can leave them in our ask box or on the form itself; we’ll get back to you!
Thank you all!

Welcome, one and all, to the 8th Annual Tickle Fandom Bloggers Squealing Santa Extravaganza!
This year’s humble host for 2023 on her second year is @hypahticklish - I'm ecstatic to continue stoking the fires of our wonderful tradition! We were so lucky last year to have not only our community artists join the fun, but to break our previous record of participants. I cannot wait to see all the magic our corner of tumblr is able to create 🥰 But enough of my shmoozing - let’s get on to the main event!
Tumblr media
Here are the general rules of engagement:
In order to get a peice of tickle fiction or art, you must be willing to create a new peice of tickle fiction or art for someone else.
Your work must be based on the fandoms and prompts provided by your giftee during registration. Examples of what those loose prompts may look like can be found here.
All creations must be posted during the month of December.
All creations must have a title and @ both their giftee and the event blog when posting.
All participants will have their DMs and Asks available for communication with the event Host.
For Our Writers
Fics must be at least 500 words, but there is no limit if you’d like to write more!
All authors must also include the total word count of their piece and a short summary.
Fics must be legibly formatted, i.e. not a block of text for the entire piece.
For Our Artists
Traditional art must be completed on an unlined surface with minimal remaining sketch lines. Color or grayscale is optional. Scanning is preferable when uploading your piece but at the very least needs to be clear and well-lit photo.
Digital art must minimally be in contrasted color or grayscale, and have finished line work.
Comics must have a minimum of two medium-large panels OR two small panels and one medium-large panel, with minimal remaining sketch lines. Color or grayscale is optional.
All artists must include their own accessibility image IDs.
There is no limit if you'd like to create more or explore stylization!
Tumblr media
Once sign-ups end, we’ll send out assignments and you’ll have until December 31st to finish your piece and send it to the person you’re creating for. In turn, your writer or artist will post a piece for you also by the end of December! No one will know who is working on whose prompts until the works are published, because surprises are fun!
Tumblr media
Use this link right here to complete your registration to this year’s exchange!
Tumblr media
Please note that the registration is conducted via Google Forms. While we have turned all email requirements off, there’s still a chance it will autofill that information if you’re logged in. We’d definitely recommend filling out the survey using incognito mode just in case for that reason. Should any emails be submitted accidentally, they will not be utilized or released.
IF YOU ARE ANON: you still must include a tumblr url that we can contact you at. We promise we won’t give it out to anyone; we just will need a way to contact you over the course of the exchange!
We will send you a confirmation DM once your registration has been submitted, so if you don’t receive that, contact us! We want to make sure no one gets left out due to the survey eating submissions or something similarly dumb.
Tumblr media
Registration closes at midnight PST on November 5th, so be sure to share with your knismobuddies!
The Fandom Registration will be sent out November 6th to be completed by midnight PST on November 12th.
Assignments will go out by approximately November 16th!
We hope you can join the event this year and have a blast! Until then, we’ll be waiting for you all to sign up!

Now announcing.... 'My Ikémen Valentine' Gift Exchange!
Tumblr media
A sweet and spicy holiday to celebrate with your true love
Tumblr media
The fifth installment in the Ikémen Gift Exchanges hosted by @ikemenlibrary. This one’s a bit different, as it’s not for a specific fandom, but instead, a romantic holiday!
This is open to all of the current Ikémen games released in English servers!
Main Info:
Event: Gift Exchange
Fandom(s): Ikemen Vampire, Ikemen Sengoku, Ikemen Prince, Ikemen Revolution
Creation time: January 19 - February 16 Gift sharing: February 17-18
You can sign up for the exchange here
The deadline to submit your submission to join the exchange will be due on January 12.
You will have a month to create a Valentine’s gift for your recipient and an Ikémen character that they have given to you out of their list.
If you're interested in joining, please make sure to get your answers completed and sent in before January 12. You can edit your sign up form after it’s been submitted, but please make sure to let me (the host)  know if you’ve done that, as I do not get notified when that happens and I want to make sure everyone’s happy with up to date information. Once the deadline passes, I will turn off the link to edit or submit so if you have any problems after then, please contact me directly.
Once I get everyone’s information organized and sorted, I will be reaching out to everyone individually on January 19 to let you know who you’ve been assigned to create for, as well as any extra information to share at that point in time.
When your application has been accepted for the gift exchange, I will reach out with a link to join the Discord server (if you aren’t already in it from previous exchanges).**
Please let me know if you have any questions! I can be reached via Tumblr DM or if you have my Discord from previous exchanges, you may find me there as well <3
Disclaimer: **Please note before signing up that I do have a Discord server that I encourage everyone to join. We’d love for all the participants (myself included!) to get to know one another, work together, and potentially help each other out within the event. We also have some fun bots to play with!
If using Discord is something you are absolutely not comfortable with, please message me before you send in an application so I am aware that you will not be joining and can mark it down on my end for organization purposes. (If I’ve spoken to you about this before, just specify in the sign up sheet, there’s no reason to need to reach out again!)
Below the cut, there is a new update to the rules I’ve previously had in place. This is also reflected in the sign up sheet. Please let me know if you have any questions!**
Can’t wait to see you all soon!
**I just wanted to give a quick update on the rules, as I have changed a few things slightly this time around.
The minimum word requirement for fanfiction updated from 800 to 850 words
The fan art requirement has been updated from being lined with a colored drawing, to also require a background as well (this can be a solid color, or scenery, or whatever you decide. The background just cannot be white (of course, special cases may occur and I will leave it up to the artists stylistic choice))
This time around, you cannot select specific characters from a list who you aren’t interested in creating for. That would be too messy with 4 fandoms. Instead, you will get more options of characters to create based on your choices you fill out on the sign up form
You must be ready to share progress during the halfway check in point via Google Drive/Docs if you are a fanfiction creator. If you do not have access to using one of these, please send me whatever you have during the check in, and I will copy it into my Google Drive. This is so if there becomes a time where you lose your progress on something other than Google, there will still be a copy existing, even if it doesn’t completely reflect your current progress.
This will all be reiterated in the information key you will be given at the time assignments go out, so don’t worry about remembering this for the time being

Event Breakdown
Now that all participants have submitted their forms, we will move on to the next course of action. The event will continue as follows:
All participants who are comfortable going first will be added to a randomiser. Once a starting person has been selected, those comfortable going last will be randomised. I will reach out to the selected first and last people and confirm if their estimated date range works for them - if the date range doesn't work for one or both, I will restart the process until both parties confirm. When all is settled, the remaining participants will be randomised, assigned a date range, and reached out to. After each participant has agreed with their dates, the Timeline will be posted. To keep things simple, the event will officially start on April 1st! After the first person has completed their contribution of the corpse, the second person will be contacted at the beginning of their date range and given the last five lines of the fic or a cropped portion of the fanart. This chain will continue until the corpse inevitably finishes (decays).
Outreach Timeframe
Below are the deadlines for outreach and date range confirmation:
March 6th - The first and last randomised participants will be contacted. They will have until March 8th to confirm their date range. March 8th - If one or both participants cannot do their date range, alternate people will be selected. They will have until March 10th to confirm their date range. March 13th - All other randomised participants will be contacted. Because this group will be much larger and may need more changes, they will have until March 27th to confirm their date ranges. March 29th - The official Timeline will be posted. April 1st - The event begins! The first person shall start the exquisite tomarrymort corpse and have two weeks to finish and submit their contribution. This pattern will continue and repeat until the corpse finishes (decays).
Submission Requirements
Free Rein is still in play - however, to maintain consistency, here are a few things requested of each participant:
- All writing participants must submit their contributions of the corpse via Google Docs. Doing so will help keep everything consistent, easily mergeable, and manageable when transitioning to AO3. - All fanart participants must submit their contributions of the corpse with a Link to their art. Doing so will help with image embedding when transitioning to AO3. - All writing and fanart participants should edit their fics/panels for proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar to the best of their ability. If you can't, please contact a beta reader for editing. - All writing and fanart participants should exclude any explicit material in the contributed portion that is passed on to the next participant! For example, no explicit material should be present in the last five lines of the fic or within the cropped portion of the fanart sent.
Optional Guidelines
Quick shoutout to Flaky over in our newly minted discord server, they helped put this into words quite nicely--
If complete creative freedom is overwhelming with us now officially transitioning into "Free Rein", here are some guidelines you can follow but don't necessarily have to: - Aim for 500 to 2k words; or 1 fanart scene with a small amount of dialogue to 3 scenes with no dialogue (no pressure). - Here are some randomised words to help inspire you: hands, ragged, speak, gullible, ick -- can't even make this up. - If all else fails, pick a classic Tomarrymort trope: Time Travel, Dark Harry, Soulmates, Harry and Tom Grow Up Together, Forced Proximity, Voldemort Wins, etc. - Don't focus on making a cohesive story; that's the last thing we want. Review the portion sent to you, and just create until you feel things have suitably gotten out of hand or until you think you've confused the person after you well enough. - Keep in mind that the ultimate goal is to have fun. (And submit what will likely be the most extraordinary Tomarrymort AO3 story that ever was, of course.) If you aren't having fun, please reach out; I'll do everything in my power to help you have fun.
Final Notes
From my rough calculations - the event will finish sometime on or before January 20th. Now, this is a long timeframe. If anything arises in the meantime that changes your availability, please let me know as soon as you can. With enough notice, we may be able to make a quick and painless swap with someone further down the list. This way, everyone still gets to participate. Thank you for sticking this out with us and showing so much enthusiasm! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to message or send an ask here on Tumblr or reach out on our Discord server.

Tumblr media
Hello everyone!
I hope you’re all just as excited for next Saturday as I am because that is when prompting for the fest official opens. Be on the lookout for the link to the Google form to submit your prompts. Below the cut are the rules and info on the timeline. If you have any questions, Errol is happy to take them.
General
So, this fest focuses on the Weasley family. As much as I love the extended next gen family, this fest is going to focus on the nuclear family. That is Molly and Arthur and their kids. So, make sure your prompts and fills focus on one of them.
That leads me to content. Your are more than welcome to send in whatever type of prompt you’d like. Want to see Charlie and Ginny bonding after the war? Send it in! Want to read about Bill’s time as a curse breaker? Smack that submit button! As long as your prompts revolve around the Weasleys, you’re more than welcome to send them in. Gen fics are awesome and amazing (would love to see more of them!), but you can send in prompts related to ships as well. Just make sure that your prompt is focused on a specific Weasley(s).
You are more than welcome to write about whatever you like, including smut. Please make sure it’s tagged properly. For example, if you’re exploring PTSD in your fic, then make sure to tag it tw: PTSD when submitting via tumblr or tag correctly on AO3.
That being said, submissions and prompts that include incest, non-con/rape, or depict minors having sex will not be accepted.
You are more than welcome to start a multichapter fic for this fest, but no updates to current fics will be accepted. This fest does not accept any updates to previously posted works or any kind of sequel to a previous work as a submission.
Prompts, etc.
Prompts will be sent in via Google forms. Once the form opens, I will pin the post to the top of the blog and put the link in the sidebar of the theme for ease of access.
Prompting opens the 11th of March and ends March 25. I will be sharing them via Google sheets so everyone can see them (that will be in the pinned post as well). If you think your submission didn’t go through, please reach out to me off anon or via DM.
Claiming will open the same day that prompting ends, March 25. You can claim a prompt via a different Google form that will be posted the same day. Check the Google sheet to see what prompts have been claimed and which are still open.
Submissions are due May 13. I will be doing check ins around April 22, so be on the look out for those. If you need an extension, please reach out to me via DM.
If you’re submitting your piece via AO3, there is a collection called Weasley Fest 2023 that you can post your works to. If you’re submitting via tumblr, that’s ok too! I’ll open the submit once claiming opens and you can submit via tumblr any time.
You are more than welcome to self prompt if none of the prompts strike your fancy. Just submit your work before May 13.
You can submit art, fanfic, graphic, etc.
I will begin posting and revealing works on May 20.
Written submissions must be over 1,000 words, and there is no maximum word count.
Once you’ve finished your first submission and sent it in, you’re more than welcome to claim a second prompt.

Welcome to Maribat Menagerie's 1st Event! Malachite Milestones
Malachite Milestones runs through the entirety of June. It is focused on rare pairs and poly ships!
How does it work?
Malachite Milestones works in 3 waves. Each wave is to properly gauge what ships Maribatters would like to see in the event. They will also have their own posts as they commence.
Wave 1:
The ship suggestion form is released. This form explains the specifics within. Any and all ships that you want to see potentially featured in the event must be suggested here.
This form will be open from May 22nd - May 27th, 11:00am EST.
Wave 2:
The previous wave 1 form closes, and all of the suggestions are compiled into another form. This form is the ship selection form where Maribatters will choose from the lists which ships to feature in the event.
This form opens May 27th, 12:00pm EST - May 31st, 9:00pm EST.
Wave 3:
This wave is the true start to the event.
Wave 2's form closes, then the top ships voted for in each section will be determined. These ships are the ones featured in this year's event.
The ships featured in the event are dubbed the 'Active Roster'.
The Active Roster gets revealed on June 1st. Afterwards, creators are free to run while in order to hit milestones.
What are the Milestones and Rules?
The rules of the event are fairly straight forward.
Every submission must be through Ao3.
Every submission needs to be sent through the submissions form in order to count toward the points.
If anyone would like to still create for the event without it going towards points, please feel free to do so! The 1st wildcard is earned via the ship who receives the most pieces via this method.
All pieces will be reblogged (Tumblr) or shared on stories (Instagram), as well as included in the submission tracker to give proper recognition to the work.
Milestones:
The way the milestones work is that every fic (or submission) gets a point. Afterwards the following chart is awarded as a ship hits that many submissions.
5 Submissions = 3 Points
10 Submissions = 5 Points
15 Submissions = 7 Points
20 Submissions = 10 Points
25 Submissions = 15 Points
30 Submissions = 17 Points
35 Submissions = 20 Points
After 35 submissions, the points awarded per milestone remain a mystery until a ship achieves that threshold. For further explanation, check the google doc for the event at the bottom of this post.
What are the aforementioned 'sections' of ships?
Brilliant question! In order to give a wide variety of rare pairs and poly ships, three sections have been created.
Garnet Guardians:
Garnet ships are those 2-member ships that are ‘popular’ or would come to mind by the average Maribatter.
There will be 5 ships in the roster.
Rhodonite Ravagers:
Rhodonite ships are all other 2-member ships in Maribat.
These ships can be anything so long as it is DC Character/Miraculous Character. Ships from one parent fandom are amazing, but not the focus of this event.
There will be 7 ships in the roster.
Alexandrite Avengers:
Alexandrite ships are 3 or more member ships aka poly ships.
There will be 5 ships in the roster.
Is there any sort of prize or incentive for winning?
Absolutely! There are two main reasons for participating as well as trying to get a ship to win.
Firstly, the top ship of each section will get its own channel within the discord!
To help other ships still have a chance at a channel, 2 wildcards are implied through the event. These will be announced through a tumblr post as well as added to the doc. Wildcard 1 is featured above under the rules.
Secondly, someone has graciously offered to draw for the event!
The drawing will be of the ship that has the most points overall by the end.
It is not something that is won by one person or for one person specifically. Please do not expect it to be.
Final Thoughts
This event in its first year running so if anything goes weird or funky, please feel free to politely point those things that are confusing.
A more in-depth explanation of everything you have seen here, plus a little extra stuff can be found in the event doc. This doc includes all of the links for the event.
For tumblr purposes, these are the tags for the event
Maribat Menagerie Malachite Milestones
Malachite Milestones '24 (or 2024)
Garnet Guardians
Rhodonite Ravagers
Alexandrite Avengers
Maribat Rare Pairs
Maribat Poly Ships
Finally, Have an amazing time zone and see you all again soon!

REC EXCHANGE 2023
Tumblr media
Hello all! It’s that time of year again!
Here at Fic Clique we’re all about reading good stuff and sharing it with our friends. In this spirit, we host an annual exchange where we rec wonderful fics among our community.
Please note: Due to the nature of this event and the fact that explicit fics may be part of the exchange, you must be 18+ to participate.
How it works:
This will be our second year creating a community generated Tag Set that will then be used for Sign Ups. You can submit fandoms for the Tag Set here starting on October 18th! When signing up to participate, 2 of your fandoms will need to be from the Tag Set.
Sign-ups will be hosted through a google form. The link will be available here and on our twitter when they open! We ask everyone to request 3-5 fandoms they’d like to receive recs for and 4-6 fandoms they can offer to give recs for. This year we are also allowing for more than 6 fandom offers if there are more fandoms you are well-read in and eager to offer recs for.
In addition to requesting and offering fandoms, you can also add in likes, dislikes, and do-not-wants (DNWs) into your requests. These will be passed along to the participant choosing fics for you. We ask that everyone take their recipient’s DNWs seriously, but since this is a relatively small and cozy exchange, we can’t guarantee that all of your likes and dislikes will be met.
Each rec-er must provide 3-5 recs total for their recipient. They can be from any of the requester’s fandoms (or multiple for the same fandom), but we hope this way there will be something new and exciting to read for everyone involved!
Additionally, if you’re open to receiving an extra “wild card” rec that doesn't fit within your fandom requests (but that your rec-er loves with their whole hearts and wants to scream about from the rooftops) please indicate so in your sign-up. If you are someone who values a certain trope or au over a specific fandom, you can emphasize wanting wild card recs in your “likes” section.
There is also a section on the sign-up form to indicate if you would like to be a pinch hitter. Pinch hitters will be notified no later than December 20th, and will be expected to pull the minimum 3 fics for their recipient. If you forget to add it in on your sign-up or decide afterwards that you would like to pinch hit, just email us at [email protected].
We’ll be checking in with everyone a bit before recs are due to see if everyone’s on the right track and still able to participate. If you have any questions or concerns reach out to us whenever throughout this process and we are always happy to assist. If you need to drop out of the exchange please just let us know as soon as possible so we can find someone else to fill in!
If we do not hear from you in response to our check-ins or via another form of communication and have not received recs from you by December 18th, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating and will contact a pinch hitter in your place. Additionally, if you need an extension please contact us prior to December 18th and we will be happy to offer what we can.
The form for rec submissions will be sent out along with your assignments on December 1st and will also be posted here and on our twitter.
Timeline:
Oct 18th: Tag Set nominations open
Nov 1st: Tag Set nominations close
Nov 6th: Sign ups open
Nov 23rd: Sign ups close (at midnight PST)
Dec 1st: Assignments go out
Dec 13th: Check in
Dec 18th: Recs due
Jan 1st: Recs go out!
Jan 5th: Complete doc of all the recs
FAQ:
Q: Can I request any fandom?
A: Yes & no. You must request two fandoms from our community generated Tag Set. The other three can be anything! You can also put “any” for one of those if you are open to receiving fics from absolutely any fandom.
Q: Is this exchange anonymous?
A: Yes & no. It is encouraged to keep things anonymous during the reccing process, but recs will not be anonymous when they are sent out, nor in the master doc.
Q: How do drop outs work?
A: We have a fairly informal drop out process. You can either reply back to one of our check-in emails letting us know you need to drop out, or contact us on your own at any time. Again, if you have not replied to any of our check-ins and we have not received recs from you by Dec 20th we will assume that you have dropped out.
Q: How do I get in touch with you?
A: The easiest ways are to either shoot us an email at [email protected] or DM us on twitter.
If you have questions please feel free to reach out to us here, on Twitter, in our discord, or by email at [email protected]
Happy reccing!!

Submission Window: April 1st - 30th, 2024 Payment: $100 for the chosen story + 50% of subscription revenue Theme: Any genre, short story Mission = Revive the art of the short story, support artists, and produce something wonderful. Payout = Base Pay of $100 for the chosen story + 50% of subscription revenue to be sent by Paypal, Zelle, or check. Wait, you mean if this substack gets thousands of subscribers, the winner would get thousands of dollars? Yes! The New Yorker pays roughly $7,500 per story and I sincerely hope to go way past that. What does the timeline look like? Submit stories by the end of the month, winner to be announced on the 15th. There is ONE story that wins and receives the full payout. Where do I send submissions? [email protected] What are the rules for submitting? 1. No Fees 2. Send in Microsoft Word or Google Doc form 3. Any genre 4. 6- 10,000 words. Yes, just 6 words, like Hemingway's famous 6-word story "For Sale: Baby shoes, never worn." 5. Reprints are ok so long as you still have the rights to distribute. 6. Acknowledge Distribution Rights on this Substack - You can still sell your story elsewhere but we need to be able to save and publish it here. The goal is to create a library for subscribers. 7. Only the winner will be published and rights will only transfer for the winning story. What do I get for subscribing? One beautiful story every month. The complete library. The joy of supporting artists and doing something interesting. What if I can’t pay right now? That’s ok! If you publish a blurb about this site on your website, blog, or social media, I will send you one full story of your choosing. Best of all, it is on the honor system because most people in this world are fundamentally good. Anything Else? Yes! Analytics will be published monthly in terms of subscribers, the number of submissions, and anything else that might be relevant. There is also the option to sign up for FREE emails. You won’t get the story, but you will get information and can follow the project. Via: Substack.

Hello and Welcome to the SEA Swag Showdown!!
Tumblr media
In which we pit two bad bitches together and making them fight!
This is a competition inspired by many other competitions and will be run via a tournament-style bracket and voted with Tumblr's poll feature! :)
I'm not sure how much characters I'll be putting in the bracket, so it'll depend on how many submissions I get!
Read and follow the rules before submitting through the link provided, please and thank you :]
Rules for the Submissions
Fictional characters only! No real people!
You can submit as many characters as you want, but please only submit each character once.
Spam submissions of the same character will not be counted.
Please only submit through the Google Form! Submissions sent to my ask box will not be counted.
Characters that are human that does not have a canon race but is implied/headcanoned as SEA might make it in depending on the number of submissions they have.
Unless the creature is based off of something from SEA, if the character is nonhuman, then they will not be counted.
While there are three characters I want to include, I also want to balance the bracket based on the number of submissions. So I will not be mentioning them until after I have closed the submission.
More rules will be added as needed!
Please do note that when you submit a character, I will be looking into the character and the media they're from.
The submission survey will hopefully close on the 31st of March at 11:00 PM WIB, so nominate your SEAsian blorbo while you still can!!

So when can we submit our summaries for the writers part if we already have one in mind for the story for the Newsies Mini Bang? Or will we have to wait until artists are all signed up to submit it?
Good afternoon,
Such a fantastic question!
With fandom events that take place over long stretches of times, things happen (writers drop out, have personal things come up, etc.) so in order to not get too ahead of ourselves, the summary submissions won't be until Author Check in #2, which will be sent out to the provided emails as well as posted on this blog on the weekend of February 2nd-4th.
EDIT: this hopefully also gives authors plenty of time to write! As I know life often gets in the way.
This lets me gauge who is still interested (and also check up on any concerns the writer might have) before artists sign up. It is also a chance for a writer to give a heads up that they're dropping out of the Bang before they are paired with an artist--as a courtesy to the artists.
TL;DR: Summaries will be submitted via Google Form on February 2nd-4th. This is after the Artist Sign Ups. (until then, feel free to scream about it in the group chats, WIP Wednesdays, Six Sentence Sundays, etc ;) )
Hope this helped! Can't wait to see what you come up with :D

CFP: Edited Collection on Jacqueline Rhodes and Jonathan Alexander
Hello! We (Wilfredo Flores and Michael Faris) write to invite proposals for an edited collection we are planning tentatively titled Queer (Im)Possibilities in Rhetoric and Writing Studies: Honoring and Extending the Work of Jonathan Alexander and Jacqueline Rhodes. You can read the full CFP for the edited collection at  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZxzDQY4kshxMHjLOtwxYYWol7-nqNpNoE7S6IIAqHYg/edit#heading=h.idsqm09lju4k, which also contains generative questions and an identified publication timeline. This edited collection invites contributors to consider how Alexander and Rhodes’s work has shaped the field and to extend their contributions to new sites, questions, and problems. We imagine this edited collection to mix the format of editions that have collected scholars’ previous works—like Andrea Lunsford and Lisa Ede’s Writing Together: Collaboration in Theory and Practice—with the approach of edited collections that honor or apply a scholars’ oeuvre, like Reinventing (with) Theory in Rhetoric and Writing Studies: Essays in Honor of Sharon Crowley (Alden et al.); Writing as a Human Activity: Implications and Applications of the Work of Charles Bazerman (Rogers et al.); and Reading Sedgwick (Berlant). This collection, then, will reprint influential works by Alexander and Rhodes—such as “Queer: An Impossible Subject for Composition”—and original essays by scholars in the field reflecting on and extending their work. We invite proposals of roughly 250–400 words that tug at the modal boundaries of print-based scholarship, that probe the heterosexist lattice that, still, comprises writing and rhetoric, that provoke the field with the task of queer theory today, and that, perhaps most importantly, play seriously. Because we seek to include as many diverse voices as possible, final original chapters will be limited to 4,000 words (including works cited or references). We invite chapters that are concise yet provocative and generative. Individual chapters might respond to a single publication coauthored by Alexander and Rhodes, or they might respond to a thread or argument woven throughout their collaborative oeuvre (refer to the list of collaborative publications at the end of the CFP). Also, in the spirit of promiscuous collaboration, we encourage collaborative proposals—especially collaborations across differences (age, academic rank, gender, race, sexual identity, kink, institutional affiliation, etc.). To submit your proposal, please see this Google Form link.at https://forms.gle/5r4meSqzY2B2m7gz5. Your submission should comprise: 1) your potential title, 2) your name(s), 3) your pronouns, 4) your institutional affiliation(s), 5) your email address(es), and 6) (of course) your proposal of 250-400 words. We also welcome questions sent to Wilfredo Flores ([email protected]) and Michael J. Faris ([email protected]). Please include “Homo Collection” in the subject line. Timeline This timeline is provisional, but here’s how we’re imagining proceeding: May 1, 2023 Proposals due  May 22, 2023 Editors' decisions on proposals Sep 15, 2023 Chapters due  Nov 15, 2023 Feedback from editors on your chapter  Feb 15, 2024 Revisions due  Apr 15, 2024 Submission of full manuscript to the press for review TBD Revisions after peer review, with a hopeful publication date of 2025 —Wilfredo & Michael Wilfredo Flores, PhD Assistant Professor Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Studies University of North Carolina at Charlotte wilfredoflores.com via Email March 13, 2023 at 09:45PM

Hi! It's clonehub /milfcaptainrex (CH is a sideblog so I have to do anon) and I was wondering what your process was writing letters to Disney and the others in charge of The Clone Wars. You don't necessarily have to answer this, and my DMs are open should you prefer to talk in private. I was just planning something for UwwTBB. Thank you!
No problem at all, I think it'd be good to go over. @clonehub @milfcaptainrex When I was still a part of a group for Finish The Clone Wars, we got the following addresses to send: Lucasfilm PO Box 29901 San Francisco, CA 94129-0901 USA
The Walt Disney Studios (Company) 500 South Buena Vista St. Burbank, CA 91521 USA
Just above the company names, you can just write in the names specifying who you specifically want the letter to go to. Just be sure that you are sending them to the right places -- When I wrote to Dave Filoni, it was under the Lucasfilm address, for example. If you don't mind, I also want to go over everything else we did in preparation. Writing the letters was always a part of the plan, but we also needed to generate enough "evidence" that was worthy for action, if that makes sense?
For us, we had the main objective being: We want the series to return. But we realized that the counter to that from them would be: "Is there are demand for it? Would this be profitable? Would this be worth our time? How would this be beneficial to us?" To which we had to answer and find the info to back up all those things before I would draft out something that could be sent to them. Of course, it's frustrating to have to think within that mindset, but they are large companies that get input from strangers all the time. People who will offer up their opinions on how and what should be done without offering what they feel are "real" viable solutions.
So, before we wrote out the letters, we did a lot of research and made a website where we featured answers to a lot of common questions and misconceptions that people had about The Clone Wars series and evidence at the series' potential and how there was still a very prevalent demand for it so we could have something that they could reference. On top of that, we also had our petition which also served to generate an actual number we could give them of people who were still interested in the show. The person who used to mod our official Twitter and Facebook also DMed a lot of the creators directly while also offering up our website for more info. Not a lot of responses back, but we did get feedback from the ones who did, and were told that generating interest and showing that was one of the most important things for the campaign.
Having multiple social media sites where people could rally under also generated a lot of interest and kept things active while we also interacted with the community on a very regular basis. In addition to this, we realized a potential issue in calling for people to write letters themselves was often difficult -- unwillingness to actionable advocacy, shyness, whatever their reasons-- we instead called out for people to fill out their well wishes / personal sentiments about how they felt about the show within a google form which we then compiled into letters to be sent to the whomever they requested (ie. James Arnold Taylor, Ashley Eckstein, etc.) using the Lucasfilm address. That created more letters to also spread awareness, even if the process of sorting out all those responses honestly took a little while! We had something around 300 submissions, if I remember correctly. I think it was a few months later when we officially had only gotten one response from Disney, from their paralegal specialist which led our group to believe that this meant that they were not legally allowed to really confirm nor deny their plans for the series. In some ways, I feel that was the same situation for a lot of the people we had contacted via Lucasfilm as well.
But the acknowledgement also confirmed that we were being heard and I think it also helped that we sent out the letters to as many people as we could. In the end, it’s likely that a lot of them get letters all the time but casting a wider net meant that we would be more likely to get a response from someone. I hope that helps, it's a bit long but let me know if you have follow up questions, I'd be happy to help!

Hello!! Happy New Year!!!!! I pray this year brings you happiness and sweetness just the way you are. ❤️ I also hope you’ve been well and having a good year so far :’)
Sooooo I’ve been MIA for a while and back then I had just read about the Louis Love Book fan project…I was wondering if you’re still accepting submissions? I know you said the last date is March 15th, but I just wanted to confirm with you once again! I also had another question. So, I will be submitting a letter (I promise to keep it tiny), and I just wanted to check the word limit for that? I know you’ll have so many submissions so I don’t want to take up too much space and cause you problems 🥺 and I also wanted to know if you wanted me to submit my written stuff via the Google forms by uploading it as an image? Or since it’s a letter (I’ll be typing it for legibility purpose), you would prefer the word doc instead of an image? I’m sorry for making this long, but THANK YOU so much for doing this ❤️ I love you 💙💚 have a greattt day, week, month, year and beyond ahead :P❤️
happy new year!! <3 the year's been good, so far, yes!! hope yours is treating you right, too.
we are def still accepting submissions!!! the deadline is march 15th, yes!! :)) there's no word limit for letters; we'll figure it all out if it's long. you can choose whatever kind of submission you prefer!! some have sent their letter as a jpg, others as a google doc, so it's all perfect!
THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!!! <3
for anyone else interested: check out @louislovebook for everything we're talking about!
