3. who/what inspires your graphics/gifs?

usually i get inspired to do things by recognizing patterns, reviewing storylines, or just liking visuals/dialogue from specific scenes. it depends on the type of set that i'm working on. most of the time i picture things in my head and map it out. in this case i may draw little sketches of what i'm thinking of doing before putting things together.

sometimes i'll do prompts to get some ideas, and other times i'll look for tutorials or templates for inspiration (side note: if you use a template provided by a gifmaker, make sure to read and follow their guidelines if they have any (i.e "if you use this like and/or reblog")).

also i take notes while i watch things to help me focus, and that helps me later when i need specific things for sets :)

If you could hit any character without repercussions, who would it be?

Kageyuki Kazakiri (Zyuohger)- Made Yamato feel more scared about the prospect of his mother dying, because Yamato felt like his father was a stranger. Never reached out to Yamato when he went to live with Mario, even though Yamato was a child and he was the parent. Then we're supposed to think it's a good thing that Yamato is pushed to talk to him again, like absolutely not. Amu was overstepping when she said he was like his father, as in the person who emotionally neglected him, when Yamato was visibly distressed. Yamato should not have to feel like he has to reach out to the person who always put him on the back burner, when it's Kageyuki who should be taking responsibility for his actions. Also they use the argument that if Kageyuki hadn't saved Bard then Yamato wouldn't have been saved later, as if Yamato didn't have to be saved then because he argued with his father and needed to get away. So, if I had the chance it'd be him no hesitation.

10. Characters that deserved worse?

Gachireus (Ryusoulger)- Was literally so cruel to Kureon for no reason. It made me so mad when he was forcing Kureon to produce more and more slime when it obviously hurt Kureon to do so. His death was very quick and I wish he had consequences for what he did to Kureon instead of just for failing his mission.

Daigo Fukami (Kamen Rider Ghost)- Left his children while their mother was dying without any explanation, and while knowing he was risking his life. Literally could've at least left a letter explaining that if he did not return it meant that he had died, not that he was abandoning them. Sure, Ryu could have told them but I think Daigo should have put more thought into the possibility that Kanon and Makoto could lose both parents over a short period of time. I wish that they hadn't tried to redeem him for this, as if Makoto hadn't been greatly impacted by the idea that he was abandoned right when his mother was dying.

if you want crisp gifs, sharpening may be your best friend.

it may take some time to figure it out, it sure took me a while, but once you get it you get it.

let me demonstrate with a frame from this build set through different combinations of sharpening and coloring:

not sharpened or colored // sharpened but not colored

colored but not sharpened // colored and sharpened

with coloring i can make the suit stand out, but the sharpening is what allows me to clearly see the details of the suit and the bottles. i like how the coloring and sharpening work together when the image is sharper and more can be made out. i like being able to see texture and details, but that's more of a personal preference, as is the way i color. depending on the program you're using and the quality of the media you're giffing, the sharpening process will be different. i recommend looking around on tumblr for gif tutorials for your preferred program(s), as a lot of gif makers have made in-depth tutorials that you may find helpful whether you want to sharpen your gifs or not.

2. When I think I truly started to like them

I think I've had interest in him from the start, but he quickly became one of my favorites as new episodes aired. Though my interest really started to peak when he ordered Yanma to apologize and hand Gira over in episode 2:

Then there was that time when Gira's friends were staring Racules down in episode 4:

There's just something about his presentation, knowing that those kids hate his guts. But the real moment where I knew I was in for the long-haul was in episode 5 when Rita brought up the Rainbow Jururira.

This specific moment:

I just like it when he widens his eyes when he's annoyed/blindsided, I think it's an interesting little detail that I have a lot of thoughts about.

16. A childhood headcanon

(Since we're still pretty early in, I don't have a lot of headcanons bc I think not enough has been revealed to form headcanons that would fit with the narrative well-my preferred type of headcanon- so here's a little inconsequential one)

He used to catch bugs and sketch little illustrations of them in a journal, while also noting their behaviors. He mainly liked to catch stag beetles and knows the most about them specifically.

Inuzuka + Sononi for the Ask Game

I think that, while it may take time, Inuzuka could develop romantic feelings for Sononi. While we all know Sononi has strong feelings for Inuzuka, we also know that Inuzuka just got out of a long-term relationship, so based on that I think that while they are on the run as platonic partners they could develop a romantic relationship. Sononi has learned to be more considerate of Inuzuka's feelings after the incident in which she tried to get Inuzuka to kill Miho. That incident did land a blow on their relationship, and it's only starting to heal at the end of the series. Over time, I believe Sononi can regain Inuzuka's trust and Inuzuka can fully forgive her. I think Inuzuka and Sononi have a lot of conversations ahead of them about love and personal growth that can eventually lead them to each other. So in short, I do like them together romantically mainly.

11. Favorite Henshin Gimmick?

I still really like the ones from my previous answer, but I want to talk about a couple more that I favor a bit more these days.

Sentai: The Kyutama from Kyuranger. Though I specifically favor the Saiko Kyutama, which allows Shishi Red to become Shishi Red Orion. The Saiko Kyutama also allows Lucky to access the Kyu the Weapons and summon giant Kyutama for mecha fights.

Kamen Rider: The Ridewatches in Kamen Rider Zi-O. All of the ones I've seen so far are really nice to look at, and I like how the design incorporates the date, a turning mechanism, and the face of each rider. And the henshin gimmick is for marketing, and I am not going to lie and say seeing the Ridewatches on the display didn't make me want to buy them myself.

10. what graphics/gif trends do you dislike most?

i keep trying to think of a "trend" that i dislike but i don't really have any recent "trends" that i've disliked. when i see "trend" i think of something a wide range of gif makers are doing and that pops up everywhere, but i can't think of anything at the moment that i actively dislike.

18. what is your go to adjustment/psd for coloring?

i don't really have a "go to", like i use a ton of different ones for different series bc each series has different production and one psd will not work for everything. i have like 10+ psds that i use for king-ohger, and i still need to make further adjustments most of the time. when it comes to adjustment layers however, i love using selective color layers, curves, and lately hue/saturation has become very useful as well. i do use a lot of different adjustment layers (amount depends on what's being giffed and the adjustments that need to be made), but those ones are most loved/utilized rn.

For the ask game: Gai + Ryu

I think that while Ryu and Gai start as dysfunctional and have a rivalry, they grow to have a mutual respect for one another that lasts far beyond the latter's death. There are a lot of little things that make it possible to view Gai and Ryu as romantic, such as their strong devotion to one another, their consideration for one another, their trust in each other, etc. There are a lot of unspoken words and stolen glances that I feel convey a lot of feelings between the two whether those feelings be romantic or not. I think that ultimately they do have a special bond, whether it be platonic or romantic or both, and it will always be a highlight of the series. So in short, I think of them as friends, and at times two friends in a romantic relationship/holding romantic feelings for each other.

Sentai: I pretty much still feel my Sentai choices are the same, but I'll give 2 more:

As a character, Kyuemon from Ninninger . As a villain, Dōkoku from Shinkenger.

Kamen Rider: My choices for Kamen Rider are also pretty much the same, so I'll give 2 more:

As a character, Sora/Gremlin from Kamen Rider Wizard. As a villain, Evolt from Kamen Rider Build

14. Least Favorite Character(s)?

(Not doing villains/antagonists since they're often meant to be unlikable. Also least favorite doesn't mean I hate them they're just lowest on my list.)

Kamen Rider: Kanon & Makoto Fukami- Very underdeveloped, both having little to no personality nor significant purpose, as they're mainly developed at the beginning of the series and then become stagnant in development at some point. I like them in a general sense, but I think they had a lot they could've done with them that would've made me love them, so I was just disappointed.

TLDR: Deserved to be fleshed out individuals & felt like wasted potential

Sentai: Souji Rippukan & Hammie- Underdeveloped characters on teams where everyone else had somewhat solid development. I will admit, however, that Souji at least feels like an integral part of his team, whereas Kyuranger would be very much the same without Hammie. I still like these characters, but due to being on such large teams they weren't able to be fully fleshed out. I can't ignore that they are both members of the original core teams (Kyoryuger of 5 and Kyuranger of 9), so it did feel a little unfair for them so little screen time.

TLDR: Deserved more screen time/development

Hidari Shotaro. I could talk a lot about his character as a whole, but I don't want to ramble, so I'll just talk briefly about something I really like about Shotaro. I like that Shotaro isn't perfect. I like that he is not the most intelligent, the strongest, the calmest, or the most talented guy in the universe and is still a hero. Even though he may try, he's not perfect. But because of his imperfections he's able to be the guy who just wants to keep his beloved city safe at the end of the day, and that's enough.

I'll separate this into 2 categories:

As a character- I like them greatly as a character, and they are a villain.

As a villain- they may not be my favorite character, but they were quite the villain.

Sentai: As a character, Rio from Gekiranger. As a villain, Brajira from Goseiger.

Kamen Rider: As a character, Dan Kuroto from Ex-Aid. As a villain, Ryubei Sonozaki from W.

9. Favorite theme song?

Sentai: "Busters Ready For!" from Go-Busters, even before I saw the show I was listening to it a lot.

Kamen Rider: This one's hard because there's a lot of really good themes, but I don't think any have had the hold that "W-B-X" from W has on me.
