2. When I think I truly started to like them

I think I've had interest in him from the start, but he quickly became one of my favorites as new episodes aired. Though my interest really started to peak when he ordered Yanma to apologize and hand Gira over in episode 2:

Then there was that time when Gira's friends were staring Racules down in episode 4:

There's just something about his presentation, knowing that those kids hate his guts. But the real moment where I knew I was in for the long-haul was in episode 5 when Rita brought up the Rainbow Jururira.

This specific moment:

I just like it when he widens his eyes when he's annoyed/blindsided, I think it's an interesting little detail that I have a lot of thoughts about.

16. A childhood headcanon

(Since we're still pretty early in, I don't have a lot of headcanons bc I think not enough has been revealed to form headcanons that would fit with the narrative well-my preferred type of headcanon- so here's a little inconsequential one)

He used to catch bugs and sketch little illustrations of them in a journal, while also noting their behaviors. He mainly liked to catch stag beetles and knows the most about them specifically.

This is a month late bc I’ve been saving up brainrot and it’s making my brain go brrrrr soooo :D

The entire premise is based on False saving Ren from mobs on HC sooo if you watch their old eps you might find a plot point or two 😭

Martyn was originally not going to be in because I KNEW the story would spiral into Treebark but in the end fuckass Martyn is simply irresistible to me.

Probably a side effect of watching M*raculous Ladybug: gotta love hero teams with different colour schemes and themes <3 (why did that rhyme)

Minecraft is also weirdly a good setting for hero/villain aus because you HAVE built in enemies of varying difficulties and they are already distinct in terms of visuals and powers. I have so much fun humanising the Mobs and giving them personalities

(I didn’t humanise the Zombie mob because that’s too close to humans and it would cause confusion with Cleo lol)

And it’s also a good basis because in MC, players (heroes) slay the Mobs (villains). The Mobs are specifically created to be enemies and to “make” the players heroes (insert hero of the village achievement). Translating that into a standard hero/villain story has interesting implications that the Mobs are Born Evil and Made To Be The Bad Guys and their very purpose is to elevate people into “heroes”. Which then creates another story of “if the mobs are made to be evil, doesn’t that make the creator/developer/author/storyteller the evil one for imposing such villainy onto blank figures for the purpose of raising up their faves?”

The overworld / nether / end variants of mobs are also reallly interesting for creating different “difficulty levels” of Mobs with even some “boss” Mobs.

(I say all of this without owning a Minecraft game)

Also the thing about hero aus in the mcyt fandom is that they tend to be quite male dominated. Because a lot of the ccs are male. I did not really intend for it to be a all Hermitgals hero team but it came out that way and honestlyyyy I have such a blast writing them. It’s even funnier that the usual hero choices for this fandom (Hotguy and Cuteguy) are the trainees under Pearl. Like it makes sense why they have these silly and matching names 😭

And oh yeah the order in which they join the hero team is based on when they joined HC. Cleo is the OG, followed by False, then Stress, then Pearl (bc she was in hermit adjacent events earlier), and finally Gem.

Having a Cleaning Lady (and her underlings) being specifically in charge of rebuilding solves some logistics problems of damage from fights + fits in with the MC theme of building and crafting + turns it into some tower defence strategy in which Torches ward away Mobs and Mobs can destroy Torches

So yeah MC has a lot of potential for such a setting.

Oh by the way Iskall is gonna appear at some point 👀 he’s like Martyn because he’s just irresistible to me lmfao. They both brute forced their way into the story yayyy

False-Ren dynamic reaches its peak stupidity in which they’re like “yeah I don’t mean that much to the other person 🤡” and they’re both screaming crying shaking sobbing and being pathetic and Not Communicating while being the only people who can match each other’s freak

Kingohger 25 misc theories / reaction to Big Announcement

wait a minute... they have not confirmed 27 would immediately be the time skip, but if so, God's fury is still unsolved. Takamina said he wrote 25 "as if" the series finale, but that does not contradict 30 being a chapter finale. but if time skip only happens in 31 it's a bit early?? why else would they need to announce it at the mid-way point?

Yeah no, "September" is 27. Yuzuki cut her hair ~1/8 which fits with the broadcast schedule.

the latest TTFC extras call is for an original Sakamoto work. I didn't think it was KO because usually they are more specific with costume details. Now the "Big Announcement" is out is more for sure this is not kingohger-related. still praying for kagu spinpff ToT

my first thought was, they simplified everyone's costume so it's easier to move around in ?? but that's not quite true. Himeno and Rita's skirts are, but Kagu is still in that getup and Gira heavier costume so ease for action is not the priority here.

Does "Space" means there'll be more on-location filming? Not that I'm against it of course, just that it doesn't make sense for Toei to spend the time and money they saved by using virtual production, and when the CG is a selling point of the show. For now, the door is open, the question is whether new planets would be shown in CG or kyu-style locations. I lean towards the former in consistence with the fantasy style of the show, but at least they left a backdoor for interacting with previous teams.

To think they'd travel planet-to-planet kyuranger style is probably not what's happening, it's more a general term for the second season phase's boss coming from space and being who caused the divide between humans and buganroks 2000 years ago.

But I'm so down for a kyuranger crossover though 🤣 if this is Sakamoto's new work...

I didn't notice Gira wearing Racules's clothes the forth, the fifth time. Gotta admit I was very distracted by his hair that makes him look even more like a local comedian XD I like his braids and was waiting for Taisei to cut his hair lol. conspriacy zenkai with that Racules charm being long hair too/jk

Blond Yanma needs some time getting used to. I couldn't be sure at the beginning of the week but I rationalize it as Aoto himself turning blond for a day or two, but that color is really saturate on Yanma haha. I think in general Aoto's hair look darker on-screen? oh wait... that's why his hair on 24/7 is brown instad of black... he's already bleaching it... anyway, 金髪ヤン���総長めっちゃヤンキーぽい！looks older too. kinda want to throw an ikura-loving daughter with superpowers onto him haha.

Himeno-sama!! I love Himeno's look??! I LOOOOVE the new shoes! I love her dress. You can see her dress more clearly on Erica's twitter. The new dress compensated for where I felt v1 is under-designed/too Belle like. the construction looks like it can do better but it's unfair to say so from just one pic :p the poster ver. looks like a petticost is still included so maybe that was just an offshot. Hair: i wonder if it's Erica's own. It'd be less hot to wear a wig (circles back to location filming speculation). The colour matches and the volume sure is more tamed than before.
