What are some of your favorite dramas from this year so far?

Are there any specific ones you're looking forward to?

Oooh this is a great question! I feel like we were in a k-drama draught for a while so my list might be a little short.

My Favorite K-dramas in Jan-July 2023:

The Eighth Sense: A queer romance drama (debatable if it's a bl) that was a huge breath of fresh air! it felt like an indie drama and the character development, filming style and intimacy was soooo amazing.

See You In My 19th Life: This drama has all of the tropes I like and the destiny romance I live for. Shin Hye Sun is a godess and the secondary couples will also tug at your heart strings!! It hasn't finished yet but I'm too into it to take this back!

Crash Course in Romance: This romance between an uptight grump and a lovely ray of sunshine was so good!! The slice of life elements and the comfort healing were everything. The end was highly flawed but I still feel like it was worth the watch.

Our Dating Sim: A super cute and fluffy bl with a fun video game twist. It had me giggling and was just a cute short drama.

Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938: This is the first 2nd season drama that I enjoyed more than the first season! It's only 12 episodes long, which i think helped it feel less baggy AND the main romance was between our favorite half fox Lee Rang and a mermaid!! If you didn't like season one though, don't bother with season two. If you DID it feels so nice to see all of your favorite characters again.

Hit The Spot: This drama was wild yall! Two close friends sub for a sex podcast where different people write in and tell their stories, which are woven into the leads own romance lives. I loved it so much even if some of the parts were totally ridiculous. I still think parts of it were sponsored by a vibrator company lol. Heads up it's literally rated R with sex scenes, though I found the scenes much funnier than I probably should.

Upcoming K-Dramas I'm looking forward to (a.k.a featuring actors I love ;-)

Mask Girl: This is a comedy thriller but honestly I'm just going to watch it because Nana is in it lol. It could go either way but there are some solid people in it.

Destined With You: I love fantasy romances and this one has rowoon (haru i miss you!!!). It's about a romance revolved around a 300 year old forbidden book.

Carry Sun Jae And Run (air date unknown) Byun Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon (extraordinary you!) are cast in a time slip fantasy romance drama (I love my fantasy dramas so I'm vibing with this!)

The Trunk: (air date unknown) Gong Yoo (!!!) is going to be in a contract relationship drama with Seo Hyun Jin. He's excellent at romance and comedy so I hope it has all of those elements. We NEED rom coms!

Cashero (air date unknown): Junho is back and this time he's a superhero! This king wants to try every type of role on the planet and I'm here for it. We all know I'll watch it even if it sucks.

How do you think sf9 sound👀

This is a good question to think about 🔥

In my head they sound like this:

Youngbin: medium volume, he either gasps (airy pantings) or moans with his mouth closed most of the time. Open-mouthed sounds when he cums. He can be a bit shy.

Inseong: medium leaning loud moans. He groans quite a lot too. No shame. Dirty-talks a lot, sometimes it doesn't even make sense.

Jaeyoon: loud! He will moan both because it feels good and because he wants to show you he's enjoying the moment. Can get whiny when he subs.

Dawon: medium volume. Alternates between moaning and hissing through his teeth. Doesn't really mean to sound sexy, but he is the sexiest. The more he feels good the more incoherent he gets.

Zuho: he is quite low. His moans are deep like his voice. Grunts and sweet-talks you too, he calls you a loooot of pet names!

Rowoon: pretty low. Close-mouthed moans, colected and classy. Also, call you pet names here and there especially when he motions you to the position he wants.

Yoo Taeyang: medium leaning loud volume. Can't control his moans at all. Moans, hisses, pants, bites his lips. He's not good at talking at such occasions but you know when he is enjoying it.

Hwiyoung: medium leaning low. Sweet talks you but sometimes he is very overwhelmed and it goes a bit funny. Moans as wells as whines.

Chani: of course he moans low. Groans too but sometimes the groans are there because he finds it sexy. Likes to let you know he's feeling good from time to time.

Ok maybe it's too soon to think about all this but in this case, moving on fast is helping me cope. If it doesn't for you, scroll past this. But anyway, with Rowoon gone, Dawon better be promoted to Lead Vocalist. Because the fact that he's been stuck at sub vocalist and sub rapper (who has not done anything close to rapping since play hard) is criminal. That kpop nation performance in Warsaw was honestly such a win for taewon stans cuz the way the 2 of them covered a huge chunk of inseong, jaeyoon, and rowoon's lines was soooo impressive.

hello! i stayed up late last night just to read "yours but not yours" and i wanted to express how much i loved it, i'm sorry it won't make much sense, it's almost like a stream of consciousness lol i really liked the hints you left here and there for ex. cheol being actually from a rich rich rich family, yubin having some kind of second motive for pushing yn with namjoon, it was really good foreshadowing! i really like your way of painting a scene, like you give enough details to allow us to imagine what you're describing but it's not the super detailed long paragraphs you get bored reading. also, your vocabulary is really good like it's sophisticated yet simple, like it's not prententious, yk what i mean?? okay now back to the story, my heart when she read the news??? omfg like i was pretty sure he was not involved in the crash but my anxiety📈📈 and when he came out of the car and they hugged?? i was drowning in my own tears. and i felt so bad for him when at the cabin he realized that she didn't actually belive him, my heart broke in two ;(( i was hoping they'd make up and that they'd end up having sex there at the cabin, but tbh seeing what their "tension" led up to i didn't really mind anymore. that's another thing that i loved about how you wrote this, like despite the inevitable clichés, they didn't really go how i thought and it was even better! last but not least, i LOVE LOVE LOVE cheol in this fic, he's manly but not toxic, protective but not jealous, he's flirty but not pushy, he respects her so much and he's so cute and endearing omg did i say that i love him???? i also really like that - as far as i understood from the cuts - when they had sex he was not ""dom"", like yk sometimes in fan fiction the roles are taken too seriously and sex is reduced to pp but most of the times sex is not like that, there is not a dom and a sub, there's just someone that takes the lead and it's so much more realistic so thank you! i can't imagine what's going to happen next and it makes me so excited ajdnshinkf is rowoon gonna piss cheol off? is cheol gonna make this worse?? or are they finally gonna make up??? anyway, thanks for taking your time to write this, you could be doing other things but you give us this masterpiece?? wow. thank u so so so much♡♡♡ sending you lots of love and good energy!

i thought it would be nice to google 'historical k-dramas' and pick those that i have watched but alas! couldn't recognize none so, I googled 'romance k-dramas', and bang! some historical K-dramas popped so I'm a confused wet kitten under a library shade now. please accept these that i have added my personal ratings & notes

lets go with movies since i havnt watched much of it

love & leashes ~ 5/5 + bdsm, not any. we get fem!domme who gets introduced to bdsm by sub!male. workplace romance. *lip bites. ( i accidentally found this when i wanted to write about sub!male corrupting a fem!domme but now i don't have to. haha! i cud just watch it again )

20th century girl ~ 3.5 / 5 + romance, friendship. good for when you're bored and moody.

parasite ~ 4/5 + thrilling, out of box story.

the witch ~ 3.5 /5 + duology, action, mystery, supernatural

soulmate ~ 5/5 + had me ugly bawling but SILENTLY, gl, love and friendship.

now onto tv shows.

it's okay not to be okay ~ 4.5 / 5 + deals with mental health + romance,thriller, ( mystery ).

eve ~ 4.2 /5 + revenge. you will like this since you watched world of married but this is a mellowed version i think.

remarriage and desires ~ 3/5 + revenge & romance, had so much potential but they ruined it because of the budget. but it is a good watch for research purposes hehe.

lawless layer ~ 3.2/5 + revenge, ( workplace )romance, anti-hero protagonist.

she would never know ~ 3 / 5 + not the cliched romance but the ending wasn't handled well but it's worth it. just drop if you lose interest at the end.

celebrity ~ 2.5/5 + out of the box. watch it when you're in k-drama slump. this is in the list because it is out of box otherwise it would be at the end para. i wud'nt rec something under 3 to u !!!! UwU

nevertheless ~ 4.8 /5 + one of my favs because it's a very realistic and non-cliched romance.

Vincenzo ~ 3.5 / 5 + mafia, revenge, and romance as a by-product. but they handled the humor in a diluted way.

taxi-driver ~ 3 / 5 + revenge journey, sorta found family.

the glory ~ 5/5 + I'm not a patient watcher and pls k-drams are damn slow sometimes so when i say i haven't skipped any parts you know its worth it. revenge & slow-burn romance.

bloodhounds ~ 4.5 / 5 + revenge & friendship, fuels my boxer au ideas ;>

all of us are dead ~ 4.2/5 + apocalyptic, romance but diluted.

descendants of the sun ~ 4 / 5 + romance with military themes. you might like this since you watched the crash landing with you.

doom at your service ~ 5/5 + pls watch this. i started watching this because of LEE-SOO-HYUK but stayed for all the characters. romance, slice of life, and it is handled very well.

daily dose of sunshine ~ 5/5 + deals with mental health and has romance as a by-product. Very good series.

tomorrow ~5/5 + pinch of history,romance, death, thrill. watched cuz of lee-soo-huyk.

the scholar who walks the night ~ 5/5 + ( I'm so biased ), historical, fantasy & magic, murder mystery, watched cuz of lee-soo-huyk.

alchemy of souls ~ 3 /5 + historical, slowburn & slow-paced. i only enjoyed season 2 thoroughly.

i have also watched nine-taled fox and found it cringe. i tried watching destined with you cuz of Rowoon but yeah, cringe. i say 'cringe' cuz some angles of romance made me do so. let's just mellow it down with the word 'flawed'. it's good for people who enjoy only romance with little ( just a pinch ) mystery. i never finished watching reply 1988 & another one i cant seem to remember the name but both are good slow-burn roamnce. i had to drop it cuz of the pace. lawl just impatient I'm :\
