“Happy New Year!!!" Nate cheered answering the call. "Where've you been the fireworks in the city are beautiful!" Nate stared up at the illuminated skies, inhaling the gunpowder smoke air. "He dumped me again.." Alex sniffled back, in time for the final light to strike.  "This time for good." "Shit." Nate's smile vanished along with the fireworks. "Are you ok??" After a long pause Alex spoke. "Can you just come get me."

In lieu of an actual “Suavarro Saturday” fic here’s a shitty playlist of chill songs, and ficlets below the cut, set from January to January.  

Alex falls in love fast, and deeply, believing every love is his soulmate.  Each break up leaves him worse off than the last.  After new year with no where to live Nate invites Alex to stay with him.  It takes them a while, but the obvious one was there all along

The New Year

“I can’t go on lying to myself from another year, Alex I don’t want to be with you.”

“What?” Alex felt like the world had stopped, his ears began to ring, this wasn’t real.  “Babe?”

“For real this time.  Get out of my house.” he turned his back on Alex.  “I don’t love you anymore.”

Harsh Light

“I fucked up, Nate.” Alex slurred, sobbing into his cell phone.

“Alex, where are you?” Nate’s increasingly worried voice crackled through his screen protector.

“I dunno.” he shrugged.  “I went drinking, in the city.  And I fell over, and I’ve just been laid here watching the sky ever since.”

Don’t Let Me Cave In

Alex and Nate sat huddled together, against the fresh January wind.  When they were kids they used to sneak out of school, hide up on the hillside where people walked their dogs.  There was a clearing, on a ledge, you could see for miles.  The city twinkled below them.  Alex was laid with his face buried in Nate’s shoulder, crying. He stroked Alex’s hair absentmindedly.  

Nate sighed.  “I’ve got work in 4 hours.”

“Dance with me!” Nate shouts to Alex in a sweaty packed club.  “It’s my birthday!”

“I don’t dance.” Alex finished off his drink, throwing the plastic cup on the floor.

“That never stopped Ryan and Chad!” Nate put his arms around Alex’s waist.

Alex laughed, Nate’s hand creeped down to his butt.  “This isn’t a musical.  And stop touching my butt!”

“Dance with me!!!!!!!” Nate whined.  

Alex grabbed his hands, twirling Nate.

Pinky Swear

“What the fuck,” Alex slams the breaks in their car, the rest of the vehicles on the road had stopped to watch fireworks that lit up the sky. “It’s the fucking 2nd of July, independence is not for 2 days do these people not have a calendar?!”

Nate smiled into the shining sky, he rolled down the windows to hear the explosions.  “We’ve never seen fireworks together before.” he looked over to Alex, gleaming up at him from the passenger seat.  “I wanna dance with you again.” he chuckled, leaving the car to join the others gathered in the street.

Brand New Colony

The 4th of July fireworks display were beginning, the crowed hushed in anticipation.  Nate grabbed Alex’s hand being caught off guard as the first sparked across the sky.  Alex shifted nervously.

“I love you.” he shouted into Nate’s ear.

“What?” Nate replied, transfixed on the sky.

“I love you.”

“What?” he turned to Alex, their faces centimetres apart.

“I fucking love you.” Alex shouted again, he began to laugh.  He was always laughing around Nate.

“I fucking love you too!” Nate grabbed Alex’s face, kissing him.

Angels

Alex realised that everyone he’d ever loved had been wrong.  He fell fast for them, never loved the little things.  Alex loves the way Nate talks in his sleep.  Alex loves when Nate gets passionate about what brand of toilet paper they should buy.  Alex loves when Nate tells him about his day at work, and does that impression of his boss.  Alex loves that he’s never met Nate’s boss, and that she probably isn’t Russian, but that’s the accent Nate uses anyway.

“My angel.” Alex smiled, playing with Nate’s hair.  “Flung out of space.”

Nate didn’t look up from his book.  “You really need to stop watching that fucking film about those lesbians.”

How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful

“Do you remember when we used to skip school and sit up here.”  Nate and Alex were sat up in the hillside.  “Do you remember when you made me eat all those pot brownies.” Nate laughed, laying back on the earth.

“I’ll have you know, you made them, and you ate them with no trouble at all.”

Nate laughed again.  “Did I?  Wow.  All I remember is feeling like I was falling from space.  But you were there, so I wasn’t scared.”

You In January

“If you told me, last year, that I’d start the next year with you laid next to me.  I don’t think I would ever believe it.” Alex began to tear up.  “I’ve made a lot of bad decisions.  But, you’re the one thing I got right.”

“Don’t cry you big fanny.” Nate laughed, moving closer to hold Alex.  “I love you.”

1. What did you do in 2015 that you’d never done before? Well I went to MoMA and the Met which was freaking sick and I can’t wait to go back!

6. What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015? Hmmm I don’t even know what I lacked. My best answer is probably an emotional thing, maybe like more courage to do art stuff. Materially I need more leggings lol.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Surviving these last two semesters honestly. I had to write about four research papers and those were hell, but I ended up with 8 As and 1 B and the B was only because the professor was a complete asshole. So I’m p proud of that.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Meeting FOB! I know that I was really (x3) excited because my legs almost gave out while I was standing in line at m&g and then afterwards I cried.

16. What song will always remind you of 2015? Omg probably Hotline Bling bc not only was it super popular but every day when I would ride the bus at college I would have the same driver and he played Drake on his bus EVERY DAY and 9/10 times it was Hotline Bling, I swear.

21. Did you fall in love in 2015? Does falling in love with Rami Malek count because if so then yes.

25. What was your greatest musical discovery? Idk if I can pick just one so some important ones are: Halsey, Melanie Martinez, MAX, and I knew about Walk the Moon already but I only really started getting super into them this year.

29. What one thing made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Probably have to say meeting FOB again just because whenever I’m sad I can think about it and it makes me happy.

32. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Oh my gosh okay I almost have to split this into quarters of the year bc I change my mind too often. For a while it was Rami but now that Mr. Robot has died down it’s shifting towards Ryan Haywood bc he won’t stop getting more attractive and it’s rly annoying. Also gotta throw in Patrick bc I never stop fancying him. He’s always my number one.

what hair dye were you planning on using? as long as you're not bleaching you can generally get away with just using lots of conditioner after dyeing :0

well another tumblr user told me that henna is p good so maybe that? or maybe boxed dye bc my mom said that shed probably buy boxed dye. i rlly dont wanna bleach it so i guess itll be fine! ill definitely use a lot of conditioner
