hello hello tell me about book worm Harry?????

hiii cait, i know this is a couple days late but i promise i didn't forget!

okay so. i'm going purely off the weird notes i wrote for this (and the 3.5k wordcount that... didn't have a lot of content even tho it's a good amount of words... yay). so basically. i saw this shirt that said "the only thing i like more than reading books is fucking" and instantly knew it had to be a fic. like obviously??

so harry is a book worm and the shirt was given to him as a gift. and my whole idea for it is H&L live in the same building and run into each other in the laundry room a lot. and of course louis teases harry about the shirt (and the fact that harry is always holding a book so like... it checks out). and then. well you get the gist lol. i also have a note that says louis is a secret lover of books and reading as well so even more teasing ensues because i can't imagine a world (even an au fic) where louis doesn't tease harry.

i honestly forgot about this ages ago and forgot i had 3.5k...? so maybe once my fest fic is done i can get back into this one and actually have something to post lol.

so i'm gonna share a snippy of said abo fic, featuring awkward omegarry and tongue-pierced louis.

not beta-read, all mistakes are mine.

Harry's chews on his straw. "Do you have a tongue piercing or are my eyes deceiving me?" Louis' eyebrows bounce up once, in that tenderly cocky way. He swallows his mouthful and takes a sip of his drink before sticking out his tongue for Harry to see. And there it is — a small silver ball near the tip of his tongue. Harry swallows heavily, trying not to think about what Louis can do with that tongue and what kind of sensations the piercing gives. "But doesn't it– doesn't it get in the way when you kiss someone?" Louis pulls his tongue back in and bites back a smile. "Why don't you find out?" Harry nearly chokes on his coke. Louis just said– What? Just when Harry thought his stomach couldn't possibly make wilder cartwheels than it's already doing, it somehow does. Not to even mention his heart that's desperately trying to hammer out of his chest. His skin feels hot all over. Not even the cool breeze of the autumn night can tame the burn that's crawling up his back. "If you want, that is," Louis adds then, taking another sip of his soda. "No pressure." Shit. "I- I want to," Harry whispers.

This fic is some wonderful Christmas fluff and the perfect catharsis of getting over a lousy ex! A bit of ""i went to amsterdam without you"" but the ""you"" is an ex and Louis is very much about to go to amsterdam with Harry.

☕️ Pairing Suggestion: Read this fic while you're lying in bed at night and just want to have some happy fluff in your life! Pair with a cup of hot cocoa that's more whipped cream than cocoa.

What if I don’t know what to comment?

One thing that I do is have the notes app open on my phone, and I will take quick notes about my thoughts about what I’m reading, or I will add quotes I like so that I can reference them when I leave the comment. Writers love hearing the specific parts that you love about their work! You can tell the author how the fic made you feel, why you chose to read it, if it reminded you of something in your life… the possibilities of commenting are endless! Even just a simple, “I loved this” can mean a lot to someone! Just please keep comments kind and don’t leave criticism unless the author has asked for it!

One flick of an eye to the several blushes stacked on top of one another on his dressing table, and Harry immediately chooses the second from the top, the colour already committed to his memory.

Harry has been told all his life how grateful he should be for being born as a male omega, and how blessed their people were because the heir to the throne will be carried by The King.

SOMEDAY SNIPPET

Thank you to the lovely @pocketsunshineharry @disgruntledkittenface @parmahamlarrie @beelou @onlythebravest and @justalarryblog for tagging me to share a last line from my WIP. I’ve decided to share a snippet from my Big Bang instead of a line because I wrote this last night and am in love with Niall serving up the tough love.

Niall plants his hands on the bar, staring Harry down, gaze unyielding. “But that world. The one where Louis grew up, and found his artistic calling, and where you found him through his art, and fell in love with him. That world doesn’t exist anymore.”

“What the fuck are you talking about? Of course it exists,” Harry snaps back.

“But it doesn’t exist for him.”

“Don’t be ridiculous. I have a career in that world. And friends in that world. And I’ve got his goddamn artworks on the wall of my house in that world.”

Niall scoffs at him. “Your house? Your career? Your friends? Where is Louis in your world?”

“He’s in here,” Harry spits out, balling his fist and thumping it against his chest before dropping his arm to his side.

“Kinda cramped if you ask me,” Niall dismisses snidely.

Harry sees red, fury burning in his veins. “What the hell does that mean?”

Niall crosses his arms over his chest and looks Harry over with a scathing disdain. “From where I stand, you’re so busy being in love with yourself, I’m surprised there’s any space left for him.”

“Fuck you,” Harry seethes. He doesn’t need to stand here and listen to this bullshit. He’s spent a month searching for Louis and travelled thousands of miles so he can bring him home. Where he belongs. Harry deserves better, especially from this self-righteous, know-it-all, bartender.
