so i'm gonna share a snippy of said abo fic, featuring awkward omegarry and tongue-pierced louis.

not beta-read, all mistakes are mine.

Harry's chews on his straw. "Do you have a tongue piercing or are my eyes deceiving me?" Louis' eyebrows bounce up once, in that tenderly cocky way. He swallows his mouthful and takes a sip of his drink before sticking out his tongue for Harry to see. And there it is — a small silver ball near the tip of his tongue. Harry swallows heavily, trying not to think about what Louis can do with that tongue and what kind of sensations the piercing gives. "But doesn't it– doesn't it get in the way when you kiss someone?" Louis pulls his tongue back in and bites back a smile. "Why don't you find out?" Harry nearly chokes on his coke. Louis just said– What? Just when Harry thought his stomach couldn't possibly make wilder cartwheels than it's already doing, it somehow does. Not to even mention his heart that's desperately trying to hammer out of his chest. His skin feels hot all over. Not even the cool breeze of the autumn night can tame the burn that's crawling up his back. "If you want, that is," Louis adds then, taking another sip of his soda. "No pressure." Shit. "I- I want to," Harry whispers.

This fic is some wonderful Christmas fluff and the perfect catharsis of getting over a lousy ex! A bit of ""i went to amsterdam without you"" but the ""you"" is an ex and Louis is very much about to go to amsterdam with Harry.

☕️ Pairing Suggestion: Read this fic while you're lying in bed at night and just want to have some happy fluff in your life! Pair with a cup of hot cocoa that's more whipped cream than cocoa.

hiii cait, i know this is a couple days late but i promise i didn't forget!

okay so. i'm going purely off the weird notes i wrote for this (and the 3.5k wordcount that... didn't have a lot of content even tho it's a good amount of words... yay). so basically. i saw this shirt that said "the only thing i like more than reading books is fucking" and instantly knew it had to be a fic. like obviously??

so harry is a book worm and the shirt was given to him as a gift. and my whole idea for it is H&L live in the same building and run into each other in the laundry room a lot. and of course louis teases harry about the shirt (and the fact that harry is always holding a book so like... it checks out). and then. well you get the gist lol. i also have a note that says louis is a secret lover of books and reading as well so even more teasing ensues because i can't imagine a world (even an au fic) where louis doesn't tease harry.

i honestly forgot about this ages ago and forgot i had 3.5k...? so maybe once my fest fic is done i can get back into this one and actually have something to post lol.

1. favorite fic you wrote this year

Now All The Clouds Been Lifted is absolutely my favorite from this year because it's a fic I never thought I would actually write. I had the idea for a while and loved to think about how it would all come together. It still amazes me that I actually wrote it out and it turned out way better than I expected!

15. something you learned this year

I learned that sometimes I have to approach a scene from a different angle when I am stuck. It has helped so much, especially in two instances. In NATCBL, I was struggling with the ending, thinking a meet-cute fic needed to end with a kiss. I tried to write a kiss several times, but I just couldn't. So I figured out a different way to end the fic, and it worked! And the other time, in To Crave Your Touch I originally wanted the necklace to break in the middle of a smut scene, but every time I wrote it I got stuck at the same part. I rewrote the scene with the necklace breaking earlier and didn't have to write any smut, but still got the emotional impact I was after.
