My First Post

My names Gabriella Rolls, 23 from Bournemouth. I have spent many years going from one menial, uninspiring job to another thinking daily, ‘why am I killing my soul to make someone else rich’, being unappreciated at any opportunity just to get by. To be honest I have wasted numerous hours of my life wishing and watching peers succeed while I procrastinate in my dreams ( hours of my life i will never get back). Every time I was handed an opportunity I would always convince myself out of it, convince myself I would fail or wouldn’t live up to expectation. Anxiety can kill that drive and passion inside over time if you let it. Well I am finally taking control of my life by being the person I want too be and working for myself.

 I have adored makeup and fashion since i was a little tot, walking into any store with my mum was a chore for her to keep me away from running to the clothes section and sneaking an item in just before the checkout. When i was around 10 years old we took a family trip to Disneyland in Florida, this involved a lot of walking, running playing and going on rides whilst my sister and other kids were happy to wear flat sensible shoes, I had to wear my denim chunky heel sandals with delicate flower stitching and my mini lipgloss of course. For me this is when my lifelong affair with the fashion/beauty industry began. Growing up throughout school i was always teased by someone for wearing something ‘weird’ or different as I was experimenting with styles because it wasn’t mainstream at the time which I never really cared about otherwise I wouldn’t of, I suppose I enjoyed that controversy because at least I didn’t look like the girl to the left and right of me, being different was exciting.  Over the years that passion has spread to makeup as I was happy and at peace when I was drawing, colouring and designing along with being a complete and utter makeup junkie.

 I went on to study Fashion, media and TV makeup that led onto working on counters such as MAC & Clarins as I was too afraid to take the leap into freelance, although I did quite a fair bit of successful freelance on and off but wouldn’t fully commit my skills. Through this I learned confidence/passion in makeup application, working with that client to make sure they always had the experience they deserved every time. I can’t wait to share my vision by sharing upcoming photos of my makeup, style and everyday life through my journey of leaving the corporate, saturated, dull and plain boring world too the world of free thinkers, entrepreneurs, artists. It wont be all glitz and glam when I’m eating eggs on toast everyday because I needed that new highlighting palette or makeup brush that I won’t be able to live without. I hope you will enjoy reading my blogs.
