Let’s revisit this old idea...

Three years ago, I pitched an idea about what if Death Battle was a video game. Looking at it again, I think it still holds up. If anything needed to change I would say two things: 1) have Codename: Intern be actually Jocelyn since she now has an animated appearance. And have help from Dummi. 2) Ringmaster’s Movelist including more of his personality that he has shown over the years. So what’s left to add? Well, for starters:

Artstyle

What would be the artstyle used for Death Battle the Fighting Game? Death Battle has four distincts styles: Sprite, Drawn, 3D and Live Action. Logically, it would be 3D since it would be easier to animate than a ton of hand drawn sprites. Especially if Fatalities are going to be included. It’s Death Battle: all fights have to end in a death. Which leads to…

Game Developers.

Honestly the most perfect developers would be Netherrealm Studios. Like Rooster Teeth, they’re part of the Warner Brothers Umbrella. Their main claim to fame is a fighting game known for over the top Fatalities. And they not only were the first ones to actually have a dedicated Story Mode in their fighting games, they were the ones who made the idea of character interactions during the openings so popular. It’s like a match made in heaven.

Gameplay Style

Basically, sort of a mix of Dragon Ball FighterZ with Mortal Kombat. High Action, Combo heavy, fast and over the top combat. But one on one is the main focus and every fight ends in a death. So if you do a weak attack, that attack ends up like a Brutality in Mortal Kombat X. But if you do a specific command, they would reference some of the various deaths Death Battle has delivered. So Codename: Boss will do Omniman’s fatality.

Any New Characters?

A lot happened in three years. So let’s add some more…

Codename: Soldier - A character that uses military weapons and wears armor. Think Doomguy, Master Chief, Solid Snake.

Codename: Fantasy - Based on the various Fantasy Characters you would find in books. Like Harry Potter or others in the Lords of the Ring.

Codename: Alien - Like Predator or the Xenomorphs, this character would be more Alien like than the others.

Codename: Horror/Monster - Two characters with similar themes. One is more focused on Humanoid Horrors like Jason or Myers and the other is more beastly like the Werewolves.

Codename: Fem Fatale - Thanks to @toadrakua​ suggesting these two last time, the Fem Fatale would be a Female that uses her Femininity more than her physical traits. Like Catwoman, Fumiko from Lupin, Black Orchid and Ivy.

Codename: Robot - A character based on the various robots. Think Clank, Terminator, Robocop, stuff like that.

And this is the DLC for my idea for Death Battle: The Video Game. As you can see, I gave them Codenames since I don’t have a planned design for any of them. So any one of them could be male, female or other. Do you think we’ll ever see something like this?

Tanz Der Vampire Costume design Cont.

This is a follow up my previous post where I dragged the design for Sarah’s red Tanzsaal dress, but also came up with some new suggestions for her costume.

People like visuals, so I drew up how I picture the different styles. Also my drawing skills are horrendous, but you get the idea. See the other post for discriptions of the design

Alternative 1: Late 1870's "Natural Form Era" style

Just think of the trailing effect this would have during the lift  👌 👌

Alternative 2: Late 1890's style

Used some crafty Paint skills there to add the stars 😂 Should also be much darker in colour, but I only had pastel chalk pencils on hand

Alternative 3: "Modern" style

Based on this painting by John Singer Sargent. Should also be much darker in colour, think blood
