Also i finally came up w a name for him ??? like last night.. i never thought i really would he's always just been stupid idiot. I mean hey i did say within like an hour of me creating him that if i didn't think of a name for him in 30seconds (no actually i just checked it was 2 minutes. wow) he'd nbe stupid idiot and that was in january 2022. and ciel doesn't count here bc ciels a completely different guy now. But i was thinking about it and he's kindof a Jimmy to me..? So like maybe his formal name could be styupid idiot but his nicknames. jimmy. something like that. He's still stupid idiot to me in my heart but its about time i gave him an actual name name i guess. Jimmy stupididiot..

Ough. The landing was not kind, but surely not their clumsiest since the first. They still had to lay for a moment to catch their breath, all their flight muscles still aching from the too-sudden burst of speed.

For a moment, they don't feel him move at all. It'd only be fair at this point, only be right, practically historical, that their efforts were in desperately, optimistically stupid vain.

Then he moved. Ah, so instead they'd get awkward cosmic cruelty. Fair enough, they supposed. They felt his head against the feathers as he moved, and on instinct they started to pull away and unfurl themself against the ache and bruise of having crashed. They didn't need this stupididiot he didn't need this what do you think you'll get they shouldn't have done this stupid stupid stupid weak and selfish took him from death.

I know, I know, please.

They pushed up onto their black-scaled, taloned hands with the ugly sound of city gravel breaking up the oil dirty sand. It wasn't until they had gotten there, though, that they looked back and saw... Jack.

Looking back that them.

They stared back with those same blue eyes now warped by monstrosity, that same face only dotted with scales and haloed by feathers, the same scar that drew up the corner of their face as one of the few left so plainly visible in this new form.

They should've dropped their wing to hide their face earlier. Doesn't need it doesn't need it. Their hear panged painfully in their chest as they stared up at him, the closest they'd been in so long, that face, that friend once upon a time. Stop, stop. And then their wing snapped down to help push them up to their feet, their tail giving a sharp snap at the sand as if to ward Jack back from them.

He'd made some poor choices in his life. Eating week old leftovers? That was one of them. Dating Vera Sweet? That was definitely one of them. But crossing the mob for the sake of his career? That was probably the worse choice he'd made in some time.

Cold metal pressed against his head as the gunman threatened him. "Come on, hot shot. Move it." He was forced to climb out of the car, his hands tied behind his back. Blue eyes darted all around him to try and absorb the location through the gaps in his burlap hood. It was...windy. And cold.

His body ached with fresh and old bruises, and the blood from his earlier beatdown still clung to his clothes, nose, and mouth. He was ready to take a rest, but not the kind that he was certain his captors had in mind.

The hood was ripped off with a yank, revealing the open bay to him. He nearly toppled backward, but was pushed to stay right up at the edge by the gunman. "Sionis says 'Have a safe trip,' dirtbag." And with those final words, his bruised and battered body was kicked over the edge. His feet slipped out from under him, and then he was there. Falling. To his death. The screams came naturally with that knowledge.

Then... He wasn't falling anymore. He met with a hard grunt against a pair of arms. At first, his mind assumed it would have been Superman, or even Batman coming to his rescue, but then he heard the distinct flutter of feathers.

His eyes opened, and he took in the blurry, confusing sight around him. "W-What!?" he let out, unable to process the vision. And there was the ground to answer him. He was enveloped in wings as the impact came, saving him from any of the rougher chunks of rock or glass left amidst the sands. After a moment of dizziness, he pushed himself up, his head pushing some feathers out of the way. "Okay... Okay... I'm not dead. But..." He looked back at his savior, trying to take in a better view of them.
