so  ,  let’s talk about solveig’s second verse, if not winter. 

some general information.  all the battey siblings (amanpal, solveig, and nox/chandler) were not raised together. they have hardly seen each other from the time they were toddlers. there are numerous reasons why this is the case - but the main ones being that they were all sent to other celestial beings to be raised and have their abilities curated. the locations of amanpal and nox are currently unknown, and solveig just left south korea after eight years (but more on that later). however, solveig, at the current time, doesn’t plan on sticking around any place for very long.

big differences.  solveig did not die at age nineteen, but she died at age fifteen. the method was the same, amanpal dragged her to the woods and killed her. however - that was the first time solveig had ever met amanpal, and the only time she’s ever seen him. after her death, maelina (an embodiment) took solveig under her protection from other beings, and took her to her home in south korea, where solveig stayed until two months ago (july 2019). with her death, there were different consequences - amanpal was able to ascend, powerwise, and he became death. solveig was not taken care of after with attentive magic to correct the damage and heal her, while she did ascend to being life, solveig still gets prophecies in her dreams - which come in the forms of violent nightmares. 

maelina did a good job of raising solveig, she comforted her and was her mother, for all intents and purposes. however, solveig grew up extremely isolated from others - only going to work/school and then home. she doesn’t like being around people, and doesn’t trust people immediately (unlike the solveig from my main universe). she’s more cynical, and more quiet. her anxiousness is extremely apparent, and she has nervous tics, such as scratching at her arms until they bleed. during the night, when she does get nightmares, she usually scratches at her eyes, and is known to bite through her lip. HOWEVER, solveig avoids sleep if she can - going five-seven days without sleep on the usual. 

solveig made the decision to come back to america after finishing her studies. she kept in contact with marianne through her time in south korea (though they are not that close), and marianne provided solveig with a studio apartment, and is now her caretaker, guarding wise. why does solveig need to be guarded? because she didn’t stay dead. and that pissed off a lot of people, amanpal and nox included - her entire family, really. however, they couldn’t ever get to her due to maelina’s protection, but now that she’s back in the states, she’s less protected due to marianne having her own responsibilities.

"i care." does he, though? he's not even sure himself, at this point. the better question is- does anyone WANT amanpal to care about them? are they okay mentally, if that's something they want? case study: spirit, he supposes.

he keeps his hand on her ankle, which creates a weird sort of picture, with her swinging back and forth. but he doesn't stop her. just idly rubs his thumb against her anklebone. leans in to press a kiss to her temple, lingering and far too gentle for what type of person he is.

"what kind of shit?" at least he sounds interested, now. "you know, if you need my help, just come to me for it. i'll settle shit for you, spirit. you're my girl. you know that."

SHOULD SHE PICK A FIGHT? She kind of wants to pick a fight. It's just so hard when you can see it play out so clearly in your head and you know from that envisioning that you'll lose. She sighs. She continues kicking her feet, as if his hands were never on her ankles at all.

Do you really think I'm pretty? How many times can she fawn, can she be stupid enough to ask? Christ.

"My supplier got into some shit while I was there, that's all. You don't care. I barely exist, anyways, so it's probably fine."
