Maybe the boss do something stupid like leave reader out of an important mission to prove buckys innocence, but they leave agent!reader behind while she’s asleep and she feels betrayed and like she doesn’t belong with them. But after some avoidance they finally talk and make up?

First Mission

Summary: Steve and Bucky leave you behind on Bucky's most important mission, which leads you to avoid them. Warnings: a bit of angst and hurt/comfort, but dw theres a happy ending (and they/them pronouns and 'doll' are used for reader) <3 Word Count: 1185 Notes: i love these men so much like it's BAD so thank u very much for this request lol <3

You knew Bucky's first mission was going to be a big one in order to clear his name. You specifically asked to be assigned to that mission with him and Steve, since the three of you work well together and have a special connection. Plus, you wanted to be there to celebrate Bucky's achievement. You had talked about it with them, but you hadn't noticed the shared look between them.

Even though he wanted you to go, Bucky requested that it would just be him and Steve. It wasn't that he didn't like you, he really did. He didn't want to risk you getting hurt in case things went south. He didn't fully trust himself yet, so he decided that it would be best to keep you at the compound, at least for this mission.

Steve respected his wishes and the two left without you.

The morning after they left, you woke up and went through your usual routine. You made your way to the kitchen and started to make yourself a cup of coffee when you noticed Steve and Bucky weren't there. Usually they'd be in the living room, relaxing after their morning run. You'd go over and talk with them as you sipped your coffee.

But the living room was empty and quiet.

You walked over with your mug in your hands and took a seat in your chair, trying to figure out where the boys went when Sam walked into the kitchen.

"Sam?" You called, catching his attention.

"Yeah?" He replied.

"Do you know where Bucky and Steve went?"

Sam raised an eyebrow, looking over at you from the kitchen. "They went on their mission. Did they not tell you?"

You felt your heart drop at Sam's answer and you looked down at your mug, the coffee and creamer swirling inside. Did they leave you behind because you weren't good enough? Did they think you couldn't keep up with them? "No, they didn't. When did they leave?"

"Around midnight," he answered, walking over to you. "They seriously didn't tell you?"

You shook your head, not looking up at him. "I'm as surprised as you are."

Sam noticed your disappointment and sadness, taking a seat on the couch adjacent to your chair.

"Would you, uh, like to hang out with me 'till they get back? Maybe it'll help take your mind off of them for a bit," he offered, smiling at you.

You looked up, returning the smile. "I'd like that."

Steve and Bucky's mission lasted about four days, most of it being recon. They were happy to return to the compound, but they were both surprised when you weren't there to greet them. They got cleaned up and changed before heading to the common area, both of them looking for you.

You were in the kitchen, scrolling on your phone as you snacked on an apple. You could feel their eyes on you, but you didn't look up at them. As if on cue, Sam appeared at your side and you turned your attention to him.

"Ready for our run?" He asked, grabbing a water bottle from the fridge. You had told him that you didn't want to be around Steve or Bucky for a little bit, just to clear your mind, so he offered to go on a run with you.

"Yep!" You answered, eager to get out of the compound.

You two ignored Steve and Bucky as you left, your chatter and laughter getting farther and farther away.

Bucky looked over at Steve, confused. "Did I do something wrong?"

"No, you didn't," Steve quickly reassured him. "I...I don't know what's going on. Maybe it's because we went on the mission alone. You know they wanted to come along."

Bucky sighed. "Yeah, but I didn't want them to get hurt."

Steve walked over and wrapped his arms around Bucky, who instantly relaxed at his touch.

"We'll talk to them when they get back."

When you did get back, you went straight to your room and continued to ignore them. It went on like that for a few days. You avoided Steve and Bucky the best that you could, only really hanging out with Sam.

Bucky started to overthink things, thinking he really had made the wrong call when he asked for you not to be on the mission. Steve tried his best to reassure him, but he started to overthink things, too.

The worse part was he knew him and Bucky both had feelings for you. He knew he was falling the moment you joined the team, and he watched as Bucky did, too. They couldn't tell if you were just a good friend or if you felt the same way.

But with you avoiding them and hanging out with Sam, they realized you probably didn't. They still wanted to be your friends, so they decided to finally confront you about the entire situation.

They found you in your room. You absentmindedly told them 'come in' when they knocked, but your mood dropped when you saw who was at you door.

"What do you need?" You asked, clearly not wanting to talk to them.

"We need to talk to you," Steve answered, shutting the door behind him and Bucky.

You sighed, sitting up on the edge of your bed. "About what?"

"You've been avoiding us ever since we got back from the mission-"

"Because you didn't let me come along," you cut Steve off.

"So, that's what this is about?" Bucky asked. "I asked for you not to come because I didn't want you to get hurt, just in case."

"Oh..." You sighed your gaze falling to your lap. "Then, I really overreacted."

"What about you and Sam..." Steve trailed off.

"Oh!" You quickly perk up, standing up from your bed to stand in front of them. "No, no, it's not what you think. I don't like him, I like you. Both of you."

Steve and Bucky's eyes widened at your confession, but you just smiled at them, your face heating up.

"And I've felt this way for a while," you added.

Bucky was the first to smile back, Steve quickly doing the same.

"We feel the same way, doll," Steve replied softly.

You let out a relieved sigh at his words before turning your attention to Bucky. "I didn't ask, but how'd the mission go, Buck?"

"It, uh, it went great. The reports went through and I'm officially cleared for duty and all that stuff," he answered.

Your smile widened. "I am so proud of you, Bucky."

You saw the tension and stress leave his body at your words. You took a few steps forward and wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him into a tight hug.

"Thank you, doll," he said softly, his arms wrapping around your back and holding you close. He lifted his head and looked over at Steve. "Could you both, um...will you just...hold me? Please?"

Steve smiled and wrapped his arms around you and Bucky. In that moment, with their arms around you, you wished you hadn't ignored and avoided them for so long.

You were theirs, and they were yours. Everyone knew that, or nearly so. Clearly, the asshole standing in front of you now didn’t get the memo.

“Come on baby, give me a chance,” the man slurred. He reeked like booze and the beer he held in his hand sloshed over and spilt over your shoes. Your gaze dropped down to where the sticky liquid pooled around your expensive black heels, then back up into the man’s dark eyes.

“As I said, I’m spoken for.” You said coolly. You were about two seconds away from punching the lights out of the drunken man before you.

As you turned to leave, the man cursed behind you. “Fucking bitch.”

You stopped walking. Your eyes met your men’s across the room, their gazes lit with fire as they made their way over to you, ready to get rid of the man bothering you, most likely with plenty of bloodshed. You held up your hand, signalling to them that you had the situation handled. You turned back to the drunk, his scowl quickly turning back into a pleased smirk as he thought he had you in the palm of his hand. As if anyone would. His hand reached out and grasped your hip, his palm hot and clammy. Your eyes narrowed.

His two seconds were up.

You punched him. One right hook and he was passed out, his body sprawled across the bar floor.

Your men walked up behind you, you didn’t have to turn to know that it was Steve who stood on your right and Bucky who stood on your left. “Good job, doll.” Bucky crooned in your ear.

You couldn’t hold back your smile at his praise. “Sam,” Steve ordered, “take the fucker out back. When he wakes up make sure he remembers the lesson our girl taught him.”

Sam stepped over from where he stood against the wall, gripping the unconscious man’s legs he made to drag him out. “You got it, boss.”

As the man’s body was brought out back, the music and drunken chatter of the bar quickly picked back up. Finally, you took a step forward and turned to face your men. “Hi,” you smirked up at your boys.

“Hey doll,” Bucky answered quickly, his stormy eyes dark with lust.

“Hey angel,” Steve said softly, his rough hand coming up gently to cup your face. You leaned further into his hold, enjoying his warmth. His grip tightened just ever so slightly as he said, “did I hear that fucker call you baby?”

The smile slid off your face. “Yeah,” you breathed.

Steve and Bucky shared a look before turning back to face you. “I think it’s time we go home now, doll,” Bucky said to you softly before taking hold of your hand and leading you out of the bar.

Bucky held you on his lap in the back seat of the car. You ground your hips on him as his lips trailed along your neck. Steve’s hands trailed up your waist, sliding past your bra and cupping your breasts.

"Delicious," he purred into your ear.

"I- we shouldn't." You said, tilting your head to the driver of the car.

"The partition is up, doll." Bucky soothed your worries. "Plus, when has that ever stopped ya?"

Your lust filled eyes turned to Steve. The blonde already had his gaze locked on you, smirking. "Awe, baby, you didn't actually think we would wait until we got home to fuck you, did ya?"

Holy God, your men and their insatiable desires. You fucking loved it.

"I," you began, not quite sure what to say.

"Do you want this?" Steve checked with you. Concern breaking through the lust filling his features. You nodded your head.

"Words, doll." Bucky reminded you. Vocal consent was one of your rules you and your men had before you really began anything.

"Yes. Yes please."

Bucky smiled and he shared a look with Steve. "Look at that Stevie, our girl is already begging'."

Steve chuckled. "Lean back on Bucky's chest baby."

You leaned back, listening to Steve. Bucky's metal arm wrapped around your torso, holding you tightly to him. The brunette's hot breath fanned your neck as he placed delicate kisses along your neck, making marks that he knew would show up as proof of your love making.

"So goo-" The blaring of a horn cut Steve off. Bright lights filled the car for a moment before there was a screech of tires. Steve threw himself over you and Bucky as your world got jolted.

And then there was nothing.

No sound. No car. No Bucky. No Steve. Just darkness.

Waking up was a dizzying experience. The world swam in and out of focus as your head lulled to the side. Pain shot through your body like a lightning strike. A muffled gasp left you, muffled, you realized, because you were gaged. You tried listening to your surroundings but were unable to hear anything over the thumping inside your skull. Your movement must have caught the attention of someone, because a moment later humorless laughter filled the room.

"Impressive," the voice purred. "You're the first one to wake up. Seems like I got a fighter on my hands." Footsteps came towards you before you were grasped by the chin, your head tilted upwards. Your gaze locked on a pair of dark eyes.

Not Bucky, not Steve.

"Evenin' Sugar." The man purred. It took you a moment to remember the face before you. The face that was once ruggedly handsome and was now twisted and torn apart with scars.

Rumlow. The bastard once worked for Steve and Bucky before they discovered him for the traitor he truly was. Apparently, the bomb your men had planted in his car wasn't enough to kill him like the three of you had thought.

Rumlow chuckled, seeming to understand what you were thinking. "I'm back from the dead, baby. Like my new look?" He asked as he turned to show off his startling scars.

A muffle from you had him pulling the gage out of your mouth with his other hand. "What do you want Rumlow?"

Rumlow let go of your face, stepping back he gave you a once over before answering. "I'm here to pay back your boys for what they did to me."

Your stomach dropped and cold dread slithered through your veins. "They did what they had to once you betrayed them." You answered.

Rumlow smiled. "I'm glad you think so, because tonight, I'm going to do what I have to." With a too hard pat to your cheek, Rumlow walked away. He unlocked and opened a steel door but paused before walking out of the room. "Do me a favor sugar, scream for me when your boys wake up."

Your eyes widened as the door shut with a bang and you realized you had never been alone with Rumlow. Off to your right, sat Bucky and Steve. Their heads were bent back with unconsciousness and their limbs were heavily chained to the steel chairs they were slumped in. "Steve, Bucky!" You whispered harshly. A twitch from Bucky had you repeating their names a touch louder. With a jerk, your boyfriends rose from unconsciousness. Profanities slipped from both of their lips as their eyes blinked open.

“Baby?” Steve called, his head swiveled towards you with a heavy drop of his chin and you realized he was still very much out of it. Beside him, Bucky was fairing a bit better.

“The fuck happened?”

“Rumlow has us.”

Their blue eyes widened as they fully took in their surroundings. “That fucker's supposed to be dead!” Bucky bit out.

“Well, he's very much alive.” You answered.

“Are you okay?” Steve asked urgently. He couldn't see much of you past Bucky's body, but you knew your two men were urgently sweeping their gazes over every part of you that they could see.

“Just sore,” you answered. You were sure that beneath your clothing your skin was marred with bruises, but that was the least of your worries. “Can you break out of the chains?”

Bucky and Steve both struggled against the steel hold they were in. “I think I've been fucking drugged,” Bucky groaned. “This should be easy.”

Beside him, Steve threw his head back. “Yeah, I think so.”

You looked up at the ceiling, noticing a security camera pointed right at the three of you. The red blinking light taunting you. “Better hurry, I think he's watching.”

“Shit,” Bucky cursed. Whether from the strain against pulling on his chains, or at the realization that Rumlow was most likely headed right back to your room, you didn't know. You didn't care, either. You just wanted out. You needed this to end so the three of you could get back home, where it was safe.

You were about to speak again when everything happened at once. The door to the room flew open just as Steve and Bucky broke out of the chains. At the same time, a gunshot went off somewhere farther away, followed by yelling and screaming.

Bucky got to Rumlow first, grabbing him by the throat and smashing his head back against the wall. Another shot rang loud, this one louder than the previous. You watched in sick, horrific satisfaction as Bucky strangled the life out of Rumlow. Steve was quick to free you from your hold, helping you to stand up before pushing you behind him. You could hear hurried footsteps rushing towards you and you knew it was Rumlow’s men coming to kill the three of you.

But it wasn't his men that turned the corner of the doorway. It was a woman with short red hair and a dark skinned man, both holding guns.

It was your boyfriend's two favourite employees and close friends, Natasha and Sam.

“Oh God,” you cried in relief.

Their eyes swept the room, taking note of everything. “All good?” Sam asked, his gaze flicking between yours and the other two men.

“For now.” Bucky bit out.

Natasha reached behind herself and pulled out a gun, tossing it to Bucky before Sam did the same, tossing his second one to Steve. You could still hear shots and screams ringing out and you wondered how much of Steve and Bucky’s team was here.

As if Sam had read your mind, he spoke, “the whole gang's here, boss. Shouldn't be too difficult getting outta here.”

“Rumlow, you seen him?” Steve asked as you all made your way out of the room. You stayed between Steve and Bucky, a knife in your hand that Natasha had slipped you.

“I think the fucking coward shot off.” Natasha answered.

Steve and Bucky shared a look over your head, one that you knew meant trouble. But as their gaze landed on you, you knew getting you to safety was their main priority.

“We're turning right once we get up the stairs, then a left and straight out the fucking door.” Sam called from the front of the pack.

Rushing up the stairs and through the halls was a blur. You saw a couple of bodies, but you looked away in fear you'd recognize one of them. Blood splattered the walls and the floor. The crimson liquid soaking the shards of broken glass and furniture that littered the place.

It almost reminded you of the haunted houses you'd visit in October when you were a kid. Almost, because where there should have been ghosts and ghouls and witches, there were just bodies, bodies and more bodies.

The sun was bright in the sky when you made it outside. So different from the dark night sky you'd last seen. You squeezed your eyes shut at the brightness and let Bucky, you could tell by his metal hand, lead you to the van. Just as Bucky ushered you into the van you heard a crisp “all clear,” come through Sam and Natasha's radios.

“Bring her back to the house,” Steve ordered Sam. You were the only one seated as the others all stood outside the drivers side door.

“You heard em’ boss. It's all clear. We'll tie up the loose ends here while the three of you head home and relax.” Steve and Bucky shared a look, as if they were going to argue, but Natasha spoke up before they could storm off.

“At least one of you needs to head back with Boss Lady and take care of her, and I'm sure she'd appreciate both of you at her side right about now.” Steve and Bucky looked back at you, and were met with a small pout.

“Please?” You asked.

And that sealed it. Steve let Bucky climb in the back with you while he took the driver's seat, knowing that Bucky most likely needed a bit of extra time with you given how protective he was.

“Come here, doll.” Bucky cooed as he wrapped you up in his arms. You snuggled tightly into his embrace, letting him wrap his body around your own. A quick peek at the rear view mirror had you meeting Steve's warm gaze, and you knew that whether or not Rumlow was caught, everything was going to be just fine.

Stucky: I hate this ship with a burning passion. Love the characters separately. Not together. See them as brothers too much to ship them. Plus I love sam x bucky.

wandavision: I hate wanda mainly. More so the mcu wanda more than anything.

Pepper x Tony: all they ever do is argue! Plus Pepper hates Tony being Iron man. So no no no.

Peter x Tony: Gross to me 🤢🤮. Not going to judge someone if they like this ship. But I just love the whole father son thing between Tony and Peter. Plus mcu Peter is too baby for me to ship him with his literal father figure.

Okay now I will be honest, I have NEVER played D&D. I used to do rpgs back in the days of dail up.

I like the idea of Peter being in an online D&D group while away at college. Like Ned found it and they only meet up either every other week or once a month on a Saturday that turns into Sundays.

pairing I am not a fan of: Bobnix. Like objectively it's an okay ship but for me personally, there's really no appeal. I just am not compelled by it.

character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): none really? Like there wasn't a lot to most of the characters but what we did get was great to build off of. plus it means we can give the ones with nothing, whatever we want.

Stucky Fanfic Moment!

Stucky 70s AU - YMCA

Summary: Bucky gets left in a gay bar after work one day, and is left wanting more. He comes back and meets a less than charming guy, and can't seem to leave him alone. The first chapter doesn't include Steve, but he will be in the next!

Chapter 1:

Bucky doesn’t usually find himself in places like this. Run down bars in back alleys, without any signage leading the way. He’d gotten here by following one of his new buddies from work, and when he went inside, he soon found himself to be alone, his buddy running off because he realized he needed to get home sooner than he thought.

Looking around, he realizes he’s never seen so many people like him before, and he can feel his throat tightening. Isn’t this wrong? He thought, but he can’t help himself from going up to the bartender at the front. He has a face full of makeup on, and piercing blue eyes.

“What can I get you? I haven’t seen you around here before"

“Oh, um, just a beer please, thanks” he says, pulling out his wallet. He looks around, and he sees men sitting with one another, holding each other in ways that would get them beat anywhere else. Once Bucky gets his drink, he sits at an empty table, trying not to have a panic attack. He is in awe of all the people doing as they please, but it feels unsafe, like if he were to be seen by anyone, then his whole world would crash down.

He’s so lost in his head, he doesn’t even realize when someone sits across from him.

“Hey there pretty boy, what’s brought you here tonight?” a smooth, sweet voice asks him. Startled, Bucky looks up and sees a man(?) looking back at him. He has tousled brown hair, and big, welcoming brown eyes.

“I- I’m just here for a drink” Bucky fumbles, taking a sip of his beer as he tries to keep his composure. The man across from him smiles gently.

“No need to be nervous pumpkin, I know the first time at a fag bar can be scary, but nobody’s gonna hurt’cha” The man takes a sip of his own drink, while giving him an assuring smile. “So, what’s your name, pretty boy?”

“James- but most people call me Bucky”

“Nice to meet you, I’m Winter, but you can call me whenever you like” He chuckles, and waves it off a little bit “I’m kidding, but it’s nice to meet you”

Bucky chuckles awkwardly, as a blush creeps up his neck. He’s been flirted with, but never by another man.

“Yeah, nice to meet you too” His voice is gruff as he swipes his hair out of his face. He wishes Sam was here, he’s better at all this, a smooth talker who could get himself out of anything. Why did he have to leave me here? Goddammit…

Realizing he’s zoned out, he quickly snaps back to reality, which isn’t hard considering the music thumping through the room. He looks to the man across from him, Winter.

“So, do you come here often?” He feels himself cringe at the question. He really is helpless in this situation. Instead of averting his gaze, he decides to look over his company. The punk attire is a bit jarring for Bucky. He’s used to button ups and jeans, not smeared eyeliner and handmade spiked jackets. What’s most intimidating is the black leather color wrapped snugly around Winter’s neck.

“Yeah, I live nearby, so I come around when I’m bored. Plus, my boy toy likes this place, he loves the French fries” He leans back in his chair, his calm composure remaining. Bucky felt his heart pound. Boy toy? Like, a boyfriend?

“Boy… toy…?” Confusion is evident, his hunched over posture and furrowed brows aren’t helping his scared demeanor. Winter lets out a chuckle, a warm smile on his face.

“My boyfriend, Wolf, he’s over there,” He gestures over his shoulder to the androgynous guy sitting on a bar stool looking over at the two of them, sipping a soda while chowing down on some fries. Seeing Winter gesture, he waves. He’s dressed in similar attire, but he has a leash-like chain attached to his belt. Bucky waves back nervously, his mind still unsure if this is real or not. Why was he left here? God, he should’ve just asked to use the phone so he could get a ride. But he’s stuck now, whether it be willing or not, and he feels like he should stay. I mean, he’s already having a conversation, so it’d be rude to just leave, right? Once again, he’s trapped by social pleasantries.

 “Hey, Bucky, you alright? I know it’s hard to get used to, but don’t worry, most people are just here to have some community. Well, some people here to find hookups, but other than that, it’s mainly for community, and, well, drinking” 

He keeps looking around, feeling that if he sees someone he knows, then his life will be over.

“Hey, you’ll be alright, nobody’s gonna snitch on ya, if they’re in a gay bar, they’ll ignore that you’re here too, alright? Now, how about I tell you about myself, then you’ll know that I’m not gonna hurt’cha” Winter smiles at him, trying to ease his worries  “I live upstairs in the apartments, and I have some friends that you might be interested in meeting. They’re sweet. And if you’re here to find a date or a hookup, I’d be more than happy to be your wingman”

“Oh, I’m not here for that. One of my buddies brought me, but he had to leave, so I just figured that I’d get a drink while I was here” Bucky say, finally warming up a bit. He didn’t feel like he was trapped anymore, the way that Winter was opening up to him, he felt like he was talking to an old friend. “Um, but I wouldn’t mind meeting people I guess”

“Great! So for future reference, which way do you swing, pretty boy?”

Bucky couldn’t help the panic rising in his throat. He knows that this is a safe place, or at least seems to be, but he can’t help but pause before answering. He’s known the answer to this question since he was a kid, but he’d never said it aloud. I mean, if he didn’t say it, it wasn’t true, right? It’s easier to ignore what you feel if you never truly solidify those feelings into words. Winter can sense the mental battle going on in his head, knowing many people who go through the same thing at one point or another.

Realizing he’s just paused, Bucky clears his throat, trying to alleviate the tightness consuming him.

“I guess, I swing for both…” Running a hand through his hair, he gives Winter a sheepish smile.

“Oh, me too, pretty boy, and don’t worry, There’s a large pond to pick from” He crosses his legs, his black boots clinking as their chains move. “Though, I’d suggest double-checking with me or Wolf if you’re gonna go home with someone, there are some people who are much less than tasteful that come around. Don’t want’cha getting all beat up, especially if it’s your first time around the block”

Bucky nods along, grateful for the offer.

“I’m probably not gonna be going home with anyone, thanks though, I’m just- I’m just trying to make it through the night…” He chuckles, running a nervous hand through his hair. He takes a sip of his beer, watching Winter. He has a soft look to him, which contrasts all the spikes that adorn him. Bucky’s glad that he came over, because otherwise, he’d be completely lost. “My buddy Sam ran off earlier, I guess he found someone for the night” 

“Yeah… that happens pretty often, but that really sucks” Winter gives him a sympathetic smile. “I’m glad you stayed though, it’s nice to meet someone new every once in a while”

The two continue to chat until eventually Wolf comes over to get Winter 

“Hey, it’s late, let’s go home” Placing a hand on his shoulder, Wolf pulls his attention away from Bucky.

“Oh, alright” Winter smiles before turning back to Bucky. “Hey, I gotta go, but it was great meeting you! You should come back sometime, I think some of my friends would want to meet you” 

Nodding, Bucky contemplates the offer. He did have a good time tonight, despite Sam deserting him the first chance he got, and he just feels comfortable. He smiles at the couple, a warm feeling at the thought of coming back.

“Yeah, I think I will”
