Any historical fiction or non fiction books recommendations? I'm into Disney wars.
Hmmm... I remember loooooving Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George when I read that years ago. That's such a fantastic book and I remember feeling really transported to ancient Egypt and it was great. I still haven't read the last few percentages of the book (even though it's been years) because I just cannot bear to see it end.
A Long Petal of the Sea by Isabel Allende was amazing.
The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See was also great and was a pandemic read I really enjoyed as well, though it's really harrowing but stayed with me.
Non-fiction books there are a lot...
Orientalism by Edward Said is a classic for a reason.
She-Wolves: The Women Who Ruled England Before Elizabeth by Helen Castor was a fun read, but I'm also a medieval history nerd.
I've also read a lot of Stuart Hall, Nicos Poulantzas and Nancy Fraser if you like social theory/philosophy.
Perhaps an obvious one but I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy is brilliant but heavy.
Hope any of these sound interesting and if you have any recommendations of books you like, feel free to send them my way, I'm definitely trying to expand my reading habits.

This seems to have been one of the few Marvel UK titles that actually had a final issue, as far as I can tell (I may be wrong), but it feels exceptionally rushed, as a mission ends with them realising Mys-Tech is perhaps not the best of employers and they can now control wormholes themselves as a result of Mishaβs possession in the course of that mission.
Had there been more Warheads to come, that wouldnβt have been a bad premise, since there was only so long Mys-Tech as employers was going to work, given their incessant scheming, betrayals and general messing about, but it would have made much more sense had the decision, and the motivating factors, been spaced out. I assume the sudden rush of events was to try and give the series a rounded conclusion, but it reads as forced.
Itβs interesting to me that the art continued to be quite different for the whole series. Even though Gary Erskine was only on art duties for a couple of issues, his aesthetic (and I assume his character designs) never really went away. There doesnβt seem to have been any push on the creative teams to be βmore β90sβ (for want of a better description) and this seems to have helped make the series more consistent in terms of quality- there were far fewer ups and downs in terms of quality than in other titles, and even the less interesting stories still had a fair number of positives, artistically and narratively.
Whether it was Erskine, or someone else, that designed the teamβs look, I think they should be proud that Mishaβs aesthetic of something dark, plus pants (in the UK sense), lasted the run. Not really a standard look, and certainly not when it failed to play the regular βlook at my assβ card beloved of much female character design, itβs mildly surprising no one tried to alter it, either on the British grounds of βa lady in her underwear is positively indecentβ, or on the grounds of titillating the audience as a comics tradition.
