Malleus x Riddle shipper here! Honestly for me they started as a semi-crack ship, but then I read the Ghost Marriage vignette as well as Mal's second birthday vignette and those made me actually ship it. They seem to have a genuine respect for each other while also being kinda awkward because neither of then knows how to make friends. And I think that's part of the appeal! These two people that everyone sees as scary/intimidating awkwardly trying to figure out how to talk to each other and then learning how to form connections through each other. Also they both enjoy tea and learning stuff, so they can talk to each other for hours about various subjects over tea dates. :>

I knew about the Ghost Marriage vignette thing between the two but honestly it never struck to me much about their dynamic. I guess it was because my main focus was that Mal really cared about Lilia and Sebek and thus asked Riddle to help get his friends back.

Now thinking about it— yeah Malleus and Riddle does share some similliarities. I can now see why the ship is appealing. But I also now find it a little funny seeing how everyone is afraid of the small short strowberri boi that is Riddle even if his fierce reputation is evidence to how people percieve him.

I can imagine Malleus talking about their inability to make friends over tea and Malleus is probably unintentionally flirting while also asking a genuine question be like:

"But you look as enduring as those garden insects you call ants. How could people possibly find you intimidating?"

*Tea sipping stops.* "Pardon me?—"

Okay that may be a stretch but Im pretty sure Mal hasnt been outside of the dorms much and especially to interract with Riddle before the Ghost Marriage encounter.

God now youre making me into a MalleusRiddle shipper— but then again I enjoy all ships.
