I was bullied relentlessly at my previous job. Managers and team members alike would frequently take advantage of my naivety and my willingness to pick up the slack, to the point where if I said no or if I was working on a different task, they’d harass me in front of customers. My coworkers saw that the managers were doing it, so they felt it was okay to bully me as well.. I didn’t quit sooner because I really needed the job and what little money was coming in; as a broke college student living paycheck to paycheck this job didn’t cover much, but something was better than nothing. I worked hard and learned quickly in hopes of a raise or shift lead promotion (ie, my willingness to pick up slack). That backfired though, because now I was just a push over doing whatever I was told and more. I can’t even exaggerate how badly I was treated there or make this shit up. After most every shift I would come home and cry to my boyfriend about how terrible a day I had and what humiliating thing they made me do or said to me.

I was yelled at, berated on, and made fun of by EVERYONE. I snapped and went off on my managers and they just laughed and went on. I went higher up to district, but they said if I say anything, I’d be let go. No one ever stop to think that maybe they were being unprofessional or out of line. Even a little bit. And when I confronted the GM, he remarked (and I can’t make this up) “ehh, we’re just playing around, besides as a woman you’re supposed to sit there and take it. Yes sir, no sir. Move on, okay?”.

??!?!?!???!?!!!!

No, that’s not okay. Bitch whaat?!

What’s worse is that when I told AGM I was going to quit, that Wednesday will be my last shift, he just replied, “Hahaha, yeah okay. What are you going to do? Get another job? Right. You need this job, you’re going to be stuck in restaurant all your life going no where anyways, might as well get used to it. We’ll see you in the morning ma'am.”

SIR, WHAT?? Totally unacceptable. Seriously unacceptable. I didn’t say anything because that night was my last shift. I’m not stooping down to their level because I’m better than that. What’s even worse is that they’ll never know or accept the fact that I was bullied and they were a part of it. Corporate won’t listen, just phone tree until I hang up. Whatever. I’m done anyways. They can suck on a cactus dipped in ghost pepper jizz. I believe in karma, and they’ll get what’s coming for them.
