ᯓ★ᯓ⚡︎
ᝰ.ᐟStreet racer!Reo...Reo, known on the streets as Lux, exudes confidence and charm, backed by a sharp, calculating mind. Everything about him oozes luxury—not just in his car but in his lifestyle and attitude. He’s the kind of guy who walks into a room and owns it, but his swagger is never overbearing. It's like he's effortlessly magnetic, drawing people in with his smile and the quiet confidence that radiates from him. He’s not just a racer; he's a strategist, always thinking two steps ahead of his competition. While his demeanor is cool and composed, there's a playful side to him that surfaces when he's around people he’s comfortable with.
ᝰ.ᐟStreet racer!Reo...Reo’s driving style perfectly reflects his personality: smooth, calculated, and always in control. His car, a sleek, custom-built machine with the finest upgrades, handles every corner with precision, just like he handles every race. He’s not about reckless speed; he’s about efficiency, every move meticulously planned. His approach to driving is like an art form—deliberate and graceful but with an underlying power. He doesn't just want to win; he wants to leave an impression. His races are a display of controlled chaos—fast, powerful, and breathtaking.
ᝰ.ᐟStreet racer!Reo...When it comes down to it, Lux doesn't take risks unless he's sure about the outcome. He's calm, unflappable behind the wheel, and thrives on the tension that comes with high-stakes races. Reo knows how to push his car to its limits, weaving through traffic with ease, using every trick and technique to stay ahead. Reo's got the gift of reading people. He knows when to push buttons, when to hold back, and when to make a move. But beneath that exterior, there's a fiercely competitive edge—he’s not someone you want to bet against. He thrives on challenges, and whether it’s on the track or in life, he’s driven by the pursuit of the next victory, the next thrill, the next race. Still, he’s not entirely heartless—he knows how to turn on the charm when it counts, especially when it comes to those he cares about.
ᝰ.ᐟStreet racer!Reo...When it comes to his girl, Reo is a paradox. He's smooth, always a gentleman, but when he cares about someone, he doesn’t do things halfway. He's not into superficial connections; he’s the type to offer a slice of his world, the glitzy side, but also the side few people get to see. With her, he's protective, loyal, and surprisingly tender. He spoils her with luxury—not just in terms of material gifts but in experiences. His idea of a date isn’t dinner and a movie; it’s driving through the city, hitting the best spots, feeling the rush of adrenaline together. And when they’re alone, it’s all about intimacy, making her feel like she’s the only one that matters in the world.

pump it (louder!!)
"turn up your radio // blast your stereo right now // this joint is fizzlin' // it's sizzlin' right" you catch the eye of a certain purple-haired street biker. (or, reo mikage gets humbled by the most gorgeous motor racer he's ever laid eyes on)
biker!reo who, as an act of defiance against his parents, works part-time all through high school and college so he can afford his first motorbike on his own money.
biker!reo who races his friends on the moonlit streets of urban japan on a beautiful matte-black yamaha mt-07. he calls it his "darling", and takes meticulous care of it.
biker!reo who one day, when racing out in one of the more secluded mountaintop roads he calls his realm, sees and feels someone overtake him. (which shouldn't even be possible, because he's got the fastest timing on this track to date.)
biker!reo who gets to the finish line and locks eyes with the most gorgeous person he's ever seen taking their helmet off, hair whipping around in the night breeze.
biker!reo who goes up to you, intending to introduce himself in an intimidating manner, but is so flustered he ends up saying something that sounds like a bad pickup line-
“just so you know, i was a little off my game today. i can be a whole lot faster than that, if you'd care to hang around and see-” “sure, twilight sparkle.”
biker!reo who feels a strange mix of annoyance and curiosity as he watches you zoom off into the distant night, wondering if he'll ever see you again.
biker!reo who tells his friends all about you the next morning, and will absolutely not rest until he finds out who this mystery track maniac is.
biker!reo whose eyes light up when bachira says he knows someone by your description, and that they'll be racing at the old mountain track tonight at 10.
biker!reo who arrives at 10 on the dot and sees you getting all chummy with rin itoshi, one of the best racers in the city. you're touching his arm and laughing, and strangely he feels a little… jealous? not in that way, though, he just wishes you would pay more attention to him! treat him like a worthy opponent, you know?
biker!reo who loses to you in cat-and-mouse over and over again, until he's thoroughly frustrated and more than a little excited to go again. you're impossibly fast, pulling off the most complex turns with almost no effort, and he isn't sure he's ever going to beat you.
biker!reo who finally ties you in the last race, and is secretly overjoyed at the wry smile you shoot him as you leave with your friends.
biker!reo who swears up and down he'll find a way to make you his darling one day.

-ˋˏ FLOW ˎˊ

SYNOPSIS. with your auto workshop at risk of closing down, your best friend kira ryosuke offers to introduce you to people who are definitely in need of your high quality services: underground street racers of blue lock, whose obsessions are winning the races. however, your arrival at the track makes them think otherwise.
CHARACTERS. isagi yoichi, bachira meguru, chigiri hyoma, kunigami rensuke, barou shouei, mikage reo, nagi seishiro, yukimiya kenyu, otoya eita, karasu tabito, shidou ryusei, itoshi rin, itoshi sae
CONTENT. f!reader. street racer au. fluff. 1.3k wc. rewrite of flow at my old main blog @/verxsyon. reader is labeled as “kira (ryosuke’s) girl” because they are always seen together. possessive behavior (barou). mentions of violence (shidou & rin).
VERA. what’s better than egoist soccer players? egoist street racers. you know what could be better than egoist street racers? the reonagi divorce arc in hd— oops, lmao. you know what could be better than the reonagi divorce arc in hd? season 2 premiere this week and sae has more screen time! i also bought a reo figure in his high school soccer uniform to celebrate, and it was the last one too. lucky!

𝄞༉‧₊˚. ISAGI YOICHI
the heart. quickly becomes popular for his freshness to the arena. isagi is a good friend of kira, so there’s one more person you can trust. while in his care as kira meets up with his team, he gives you a tour of blue lock to keep you entertained. sweet and kind, he fetches you water and asks if you feel alright because the racers have been ogling at you since you arrived. interrupted by an uproar caused by a racer who is standing on his car with paint all over his body, isagi is beyond irritated.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. BACHIRA MEGURU
the monster. obsessed with spray paint and loves decorating his car with it. bachira is terrible at being an artist. playful and cheerful outside, he holds amateur art performances for the crowd before races to get them pumped up. his gaze makes isagi flinch when he is told by the latter to quiet down. you can still hear the warning of staying close to someone you trust. he emits a dangerous aura, a strong first impression. bachira feels the same when he’s up at your face, studying you intensely.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. CHIGIRI HYOMA
the surge. the fastest racer in blue lock, securing victories at the speed of light. as chigiri approaches bachira to scold him for scaring newcomers, his beauty is so unreal that you don’t even realize you’ve been staring at him. he apologizes for his friend’s antics, justifying that he acts like this before a highly anticipated race. unfortunately, chigiri is not in this one due to a leg injury but luckily has someone helping him to stay in shape: an orange-haired racer waiting at the garage in his car.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. KUNIGAMI RENSUKE
the hero. kunigami has the highest endurance in blue lock, outlasting all racers in long-distance races. he acts like an older brother as he is very protective and solves issues in a civil manner, balancing out his friends’ hot-blooded personalities. kira trusts him enough to take you home as your best friend has matters to take care of. you thank kunigami for the ride and being nice to you. embarrassed, he says he’ll see you at the race and nothing else before zooming away.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. BAROU SHOUEI
the king. barou is the racer that kira complains about for as long as you can remember. he’s selfish and arrogant based on what you gathered so far from kira, claiming that the venue is his throne and the next race is his for the taking. his attitude fits your expectations; you already dislike him upon the first encounter. barou has the audacity to “claim” you as his prize when he wins this race. you’ll definitely follow kira’s advice to avoid him for sure when you see this guy again.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. MIKAGE REO
the heir. reo considers kira to be one of the best in the arena, besides his best friend, nagi, of course. a master of negotiations due to his status as the future chairman of a corporation, he hopes you will find his terms reasonable and collaborate with him as a business partner. but what he doesn’t expect is you playing hard to get. a pretty rich boy does deserve wild goose chase, making his pursuit exhilarating just like races at blue lock. nagi thinks that what he is doing is a waste of time.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. NAGI SEISHIRO
the genius. most people are happy with their achievements, but nagi does not care less as they’re essentially reo’s efforts. all he cares about are his video games and his cactus until you arrive to the arena with kira. all of a sudden, he attempts to impress you; “attempts” being the keyword. yet reo does the work once again by introducing him to you as his precious treasure and brags that you will see nagi’s full potential at the upcoming race. nagi doesn’t find you to be a bother, so he hopes to see you again.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. YUKIMIYA KENYU
the model. his charm is the focal point of his character, which drives the audience nuts. curious by nature, yukimiya wonders about the qualities you possess other than being “kira ryosuke’s girl” and how you manage to get the likes of barou, who treats everyone like trash, and nagi, who thinks of only going home, at your whim. seeing you teach nagi about car anatomy allows him to introduce himself. he believes that there is something special about you, but a friend of his thinks so otherwise.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. OTOYA EITA
the ninja. otoya claims to be not like his fellow racers and prefers to stay in the shadows. he doesn’t see you as an angel sent by god in the form of a mechanic to fix their cars, not understanding why everyone is smitten by you. he isn’t interested in interacting with you at first, however, that is proven wrong when yukimiya makes you laugh at a silly joke. it’s rude to make you feel unwelcome, so he decides to give you a chance. a crow- like racer mocks him for thinking he doesn’t find you attractive one bit.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. KARASU TABITO
the assassin. all about good vibes and good times, karasu does not want anyone to act “mediocre” around you. many newcomers are notorious for never setting foot in this place after their first round. he is relieved to hear that you came at your own volition thanks to kira. majority of racers you met so far are nice to you, so he doesn’t need to worry about making an impromptu spiel of why blue lock is great. if you think he’s too friendly for your taste, what about the guy stalking you right now.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. SHIDOU RYUSEI
the joker. unrestrained both in words and action, shidou goes about his day and does everything as he pleases. judging by how yukimiya, otoya, and karasu are quick to shield you, he’s bad news. the altercation grabs kunigami’s attention, who he has massive beef with. being “kira’s girl” doesn’t phase him, nor your best friend going after his head for being near you. one of his rivals isn’t amused by the ongoing circus act, as if he didn’t break his nose in the previous race.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. ITOSHI RIN
the puppeteer. rin has a score to settle with his older brother, sae, who is betting on shidou for the next race. physical violence is a usual solution to settle arguments, and it’s worse for rin to be involved in another fight with shidou, especially before a race that determines his fate and prove to his brother that he’s the best of the best. he doesn’t spare a glance at you or ask if you’re alright, as sae walks into the garage to check out the commotion.
𝄞༉‧₊˚. ITOSHI SAE
the prodigy. sae is one of the top eleven racers at the underground. you now know that he is betting on shidou for the upcoming race. rin does not seem pleased. even if it’s not obvious at face value, everyone can tell that there’s bad blood between the brothers by the intense atmosphere created from their staring contest. sae looks at you then at his brother, who he scoffs at for his lack of concern for you. for a girl to experience this in the first week, he’ll stop by your shop as reparation after the race.

I’d LOVEEEE to hear about Dodger and Alex’s line! I’m super interested in the contributions of captive “ex ferals” in a companion/therapy program
This ask vanished earlier, but now it's back!
Thanks, Tumblr...
Anyway!

Alex

and Dodger
came from Macon Ga, where they were rescued from a billboard by one of the workers hired to break it down.
Who found them jarred from destroyed nests after it came down.
They were nearly weaned, but not able to fly just yet, and ended up severely traumatized by their rescue.

Dodger, the hen, was actually the oldest.

Alex was younger by about a week, which was how I worked out that they aren't nest mates.
Their first two clutches were infertile and rotten, respectively. First egg infertile, second egg fertile, but failed to develop past the first few days.
They were flighty birds, easily startled off nest.

Dio was the first successful baby they had.
Very bright, excessively sweet tempered velcro bird that could have been mistaken for an imprint.
Because she was so clingy, she was adopted out instead of remaining in the program, tempted though I was.

Reo was very slow to develop.
He was one of the peeps I mentioned in a previous post who was too immunocompromised for vaccinations.
I waited until he was nine weeks old to administer them, and that was not long enough.

Murine was practically the perfect bird.
Because he was raised in a safe environment where he had plenty to eat and drink and never had to fear any kind of predator, all the intelligence that Ferals usually have to put towards learning what to watch out for and how to evade efficiently got put towards learning what my behaviors and communication went and how to interact with me.
He was very fast, but instead of being flighty, he was energetic and playful; curious and clever and interested in everything I was doing.
And instead of imprinting on me, he was interested in the hens and social structure for the flock like a healthy, mentally stable pigeon naturally would be.
He paired up with

Ibis: Lucerne x American Show Racer, bred by Mellifex Loft.
Who was every bit as sweet as that face suggests!
A completely shameless cuddle bug.
She was such a strong contender for house bird before we decided to bring Bird-Bird in that she almost didn't join the program at all.
She remained her wonderfully sweet tempered self regardless of where she was or what was going on.
They threw me

Sikku, who ended up being very nervous by nature.

And my big, beautiful boy Ninka, who I kept because his was the mellower temperament of the two.
Sikku and Ninka were some of the last babies to be hatched before we closed, in the worst year the loft has ever had.
This family line has been an object lesson in nature vs. nurture.
Murine hatched in probably the best year we ever had.
He was out of feral parents who were both just unspeakably skittish, so he absolutely had the genetics and upbringing to be wildly flighty and terrified of everything.
But because there were about the number of birds the loft could comfortably house, with babies going home pretty much as soon as they hit nine weeks, and I was in good enough health to easily keep up with tending them, none of the flock had to worry about scarcity or social pressures and he never developed any of the skittishness to which ferals, performers, and field birds are prone.
The keen intelligence and inquisitiveness that keeps ferals alive really got to shine through this one, unimprinted individual, unhindered by the genetics he received to be flighty and skittish.
The mate he took could not possibly have been more ideal for passing on the genes conducive to an even sweeter temperament.
But because those babies hatched when the loft was overcrowded and I was really starting to physically and mentally struggle, the temperament they developed being only about half as skittish as their feral grand parents straight off the street is a real testament to Ibis' genetic contribution.

FUJIIIII I just re watched Overdrive (Japanese movie abt car racing) AND I REMEMBERED UR NAGI STREET RACER AU... any thoughts on who his mechanic is?
AVEEEE okay i know i recently said i don't think about nagi x reader x reo and i stand by that bc i don't think nagi's reader would get involved with reo, HOWEVER i do picture reo as nagi's mechanic! just. able to source the parts he needs and willing to foot the cost so he can support nagi in racing — reo can race too but mostly he goes to meets to make connections and to set nagi up with races.
also i can't believe you thought about my street racer au 🥺 that is so sweet and crazy to me that anyone would think about a random au i wrote!!
#fujimail#💚🌙#okay i think ?? i saw that you said your name means moon somewhere so i would like to change your tag if that's okay!#also sorry for the late response i hoard messages sometimes

✧ 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬. slight possessive behavior (barou)
✧ 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚. so my streamer au hcs popped off… ngl, i wasn’t expecting much, but thanks for that! here’s another one with more characters into the mix. i’ve been waiting to write this au, ugh. this was originally a huge post with 18 characters, but i thought it was too much so i’m splitting this into two parts. hm, a week or two for the second part?
[ 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖 (𝐈𝐈) ]

𝐤𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐞. the jewel. he has been your best friend since diapers, as well as your soulmate, partner-in-crime, ride or die, and a lot of other things referring to him as your other half. as your best friend, he hates to see you unhappy. for instance, recently, he tells you that he knows people who will gladly pay you a generous amount to fix their cars, risking your safety because it’s blue lock of all things. it’s not easy to turn him down, so you agree to meet your new potential customers at the track underground despite the consequences. the likes of you rarely come to blue lock so it’s natural to have everyone wary of your arrival, which he warns you to stay close to him.
𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐢 𝐲𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐢. the heart. he’s relatively new to blue lock, but is already very popular among the audience for the freshness he brings to the atmosphere, which most of the older racers lack. ryosuke’s his first friend, so at least there’s someone other than your partner who you can trust. you’re in his care while ryosuke checks in with the rest of his team, and he decides to give you a tour of blue lock to keep you entertained. he’s sweet and kind, asking you if you want water and if you feel alright because racers have been staring at you since you arrived. before he can say more, an uproar booms, caused by a racer standing proudly on his car with paint all over his body.
𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐮. the monster. he loves decorating, especially his car which explains the spray paint, but is terrible at being an artist. on the surface, he seems playful and cheerful, performing some sort of gymnastics routine through the crowd to isagi and greets him with pinches and stretches on his cheeks. however, his gaze tells a whole other story. he’s dangerous, with the possibility that he can beat up the entire venue with his spray paint bottles. jokes aside, he’s made a strong first impression, and it seems like he feels the same when he’s up at your face, studying you intensely. that earns him a flick on the forehead from a red-haired boy who’s too pretty to be true.
𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐢 𝐡𝐲𝐨𝐦𝐚. the surge. he’s the fastest racer in blue lock, securing every victory at the speed of light. also known as its “princess”, but he doesn’t seem too fond of that moniker. as he approaches bachira to scold him for always scaring newcomers, his beauty is so unreal that you don’t even realize you’ve been staring at him until he tells you to stop and that you’re turning into bachira. in all seriousness, he apologizes for teammate’s antics, justifying that he acts like that before a highly anticipated race. he’s out due to a leg injury and has a teammate helping him to stay in shape: a bulky racer with orange spiky hair who you first see at the team garage.
𝐤𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐢 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐞. the hero. he’s the strongest racer in blue lock in terms of endurance, outlasting everyone in those types of races. the de facto leader of team z, he acts as an older brother to them as he’s very protective and solves issues in a civil manner, which balances out his hot-blooded personality. he’s more than thrilled to have you as blue lock’s business partner, but first things first, as ryosuke has matters to take care of, he’s asked on his behalf to take you home. you thank him for the ride and being nice to you. embarrassed, he says he’ll see you at the race before zooming away.
𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐞𝐢. the king. he’s the leader of team y, the racer ryosuke’s been complaining about ever since he came back to your shop the day after your first time to blue lock. based on his description, he’s selfish and arrogant, claiming that the venue is his throne, and also that he’ll be one of the competitors in the upcoming race. ryosuke advises you to refuse him if he visits. after all, you have that right; but out of goodwill, you won’t. sometimes you wish you don’t mean the things that you’ve said because you disliked him upon the first verbal exchange. he had the audacity to tell you you’re his when he wins. you’ll follow ryosuke’s advice for sure when this guy comes.
𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐨 𝐢𝐤𝐤𝐢. the sentry. he’s the youngest member of blue lock and the only non-racer. instead, he has sharp eyesight for alerting everyone when the police are near. he’s seen your little exchange with barou, so he decides to talk to you about him. not only is his ability useful for avoiding trouble with the law, he can analyze hand movements and facial expressions, whether they’re genuine or not. barou rarely says that to anyone, meaning he’s not an exception to be captivated by you. this boy admits you’re one of the people he admires due to your mechanical expertise. as he had said, him and barou aren’t the only ones; a fan favorite’s waiting to be graced by your presence.
𝐦𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐨. the heir. he’s the leader as well as the second-best racer of team v. he considers ryosuke to be one of the best racers in blue lock, besides his best friend nagi of course, which is what he’ll use during his negotiations with you. a master at that developed by his upbringing, they worked on the majority of his teammates, earning their respect, so he hopes that you’ll find his terms reasonable and work for him. but what he doesn’t expect is you playing hard to get. you think a pretty rich boy like him deserves a wild goose chase for shits and giggles, but in fact, it makes his pursuit very exhilarating like his races. nagi thinks that what he’s doing is a waste of time.
𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐢 𝐬𝐞𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐨. the genius. he’s the best racer of team v and is ranked sixth of the top six racers of blue lock. most people would be happy about their achievements, but he doesn’t care as they’re essentially reo’s efforts. all he cares about are his video games and his cactus, until you arrived. he’s interested in attempting to impress you, with “attempt” being the keyword. but reo does all his work once again by introducing him to you as his most prized possession. you may not believe it because of his lazy disposition, but reo promises that you’ll see his full potential in the upcoming race. someone else who he doesn’t find to be a bother, he hopes to see you more often.

⤆ 200+ followers event ~ To the Masterlist ⤇
It wasn’t the fast cars, the crowds of people waiting at the start and finish line, nor the money, that Reo so fucking pumped when he was behind the wheel of his suped up Mazda RX-7.
It was the rush.
The rush he felt when he first drifted, the rush that shot through his veins every single time he was the first one across the finish line, the rush he felt everytime he pushed his car to the damn near limit.
It was exhilarating and he wouldn’t give it up for anything in the world.
Not even you.
He loved you, he truly did, but he was a man addicted. He loved racing, it was something that made his head light, and his heart pound. It was like a fucking drug, like the high a boxer got when they were in the ring. Fuck, he couldn’t get enough of it.
So he didn’t pay attention to your complaints. Who cares if he could die? Who cares if it was illegal? It made him happy, scratch that, elated--- and that’s all that should matter.
Yet, you didn’t see it that way.
So it was no surprise that you were now looking at him, pretty lips turned down in a frown as you threw down the envelope of cash from his latest win.
“I can’t fucking do this, Reo.” You told him, your voice was low, and shit you sounded so damn tired. Was this what your relationship had come to? You being so tired of him that your once light, jubilant voice that felt like a breeze on a hot summer’s day in Tokyo, now dark and murky like the harsh winters of Rikubetsu.
“It’s just,” You exhaled, eyes shutting as your manicured nails pinched the bridge of your nose, “I can’t keep wondering if you’re gonna come home at night or if I’m gonna get a call from the police station or fucking worse, the hospital. I can’t keep driving myself insane because you won’t give up a fucking habit.”
“Doll-” He began but you immediately shook your head, holding up your hand as you opened your eyes.
“No, this? It’s not working out. We’re not working out.”
Reo was silent, he expected this but fuck that didn’t make it hurt any less.

A time zone is actually a area with the globe that observes a uniform common time for authorized and social uses. Time zones usually follow the boundaries of nations and their subdivisions in lieu of longitude, as it is easy for locations in close professional or other conversation to keep exactly the same time. Most of the time zones on land are offset from Coordinated Universal Time by a complete amount of hours, but a handful of zones are offset by 30 or forty five minutes; some higher latitude and temperate zone nations use daylight preserving time for A part of the year by modifying area clock time by one hour. A lot of land time zones are skewed toward the west from the corresponding nautical time zones; this makes a lasting daylight preserving time result. Before clocks were being invented, it absolutely was widespread exercise to mark enough time of working day with obvious photo voltaic time – by way of example, enough time on a sundial –, distinctive For each and every locale and depending on longitude; when well-regulated mechanical clocks became popular within the early 19th century, each city began to use community necessarily mean photo voltaic time. Apparent and mean photo voltaic time can vary by approximately close to quarter-hour due to elliptical form of the Earth's orbit around the Sun and the lean of the Earth's axis. Mean solar time has times of equal length, the difference between The 2 sums to zero following a yr. Greenwich Mean Time was founded in 1675, if the Royal Observatory was designed, as an aid to mariners to ascertain longitude at sea, delivering a normal reference time though Just about every city in England stored a special regional time. Community solar time turned inconvenient as rail transport and telecommunications improved, since clocks differed amongst places by amounts akin to the discrepancies within their geographical longitudes, which diversified by four minutes of your time For each diploma of longitude. For example, Bristol is about two.five levels west of Greenwich, so when it is actually solar midday in Bristol, it truly is about ten minutes earlier solar noon in London. The use of time zones accumulates these dissimilarities into extended models hours, making sure that close by areas can share a typical standard for timekeeping. The main adoption of a standard time was on December one, 1847, in Great Britain by railway corporations applying GMT kept by moveable chronometers. The very first of those corporations to adopt standard time was The good Western Railway in November 1840; this turned often known as Railway Time. About August 23, 1852, time alerts ended up first transmitted by telegraph in the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. Even though 98% of Wonderful Britain's public clocks ended up working with GMT by 1855, it wasn't made Britain's authorized time right until August 2, 1880; some British clocks from this era have two minute palms—1 for your community time, just one for GMT.
The resort would burn up in 1923, plus the educate was later on used to move skiers to the very best. The railway peaked over the 1930s and 1940s, but was fundamentally deserted via the 1950s. The summit on the south peak is currently the website of diverse television and radio towers.
The fundamental format consists of five digits. An extended 'ZIP+4' code was launched in 1983 which includes the five digits of your ZIP Code, followed by a hyphen and four further digits that determine a more particular locale.--Wikipedia

I found this path searching for NH trails and was to some degree common to the region right after going to Monadnock Speedway through the years. I failed to realize this path runs across the entrance to it. Following looking through a tad, it seems it is partially a paved trail but only in close proximity to Keene. Figured I might begin at the southern conclude because it's only an hour from exactly where I Stay. I found the parking location effortless enough and figured I'd start off the path from there that's proper across the street. I see that the trail goes south a little more but in all honesty, driving over the street getting to the parking space or just after leaving, I could not see in which you truly get to the path conclude. As it's only 1 / 4 mile more, I failed to trouble backtracking to figure it out. Trail is unpaved around the southern close And that i experienced study a handful of people's feedback regarding how they could not get earlier the speedway Considering that the trail isn't maintained all of that properly in that space. I went nearly the place it crosses above Rt. 119 (quick length west through the intersection of Rt. 10) then rode again over the highway back again on the parking whole lot. The trail is a mixture of grass, gravel, some mud although not Considerably, soft sand and also the like.

Suede Palace, Model A Display and More Traditional Highlights from the 2019 Grand National Roadster Show
You’ve really got to go, if you haven’t yet. Inaugurated in 1950, the Grand National Roadster Show (touted as the longest continuously running hot rod show in the world) oozes with hot rod history. We should thank Al Slonaker and his wife Mary for creating this institution, originally held in Northern California. John Buck took over ownership in 2004, moving the three-day event farther south to Pomona. That first year in SoCal was a success with 300 vehicles put on exhibit. Fast-forward 15 years. The 2019 GNRS gathered 500 eclectic cars set in seven buildings, plus another 500 outside (mainly on Saturday) as part of the Drive-In display. Many HRD readers started their visit with the Suede Palace, a hall devoted to traditional rods and customs. Across the way, Building No. 9 hosted Ford Model As in all their shapes and forms: antique hot rods, former GRNS winners, NHRA and SCTA record holders, and so on. It was a sight to behold, thanks to 80-plus vehicles tantalizing the crowd, and worthy of a story in its own right, which will appear in our July 2019 issue. Stretching for more than an eighth-mile, Building No. 4 welcomed dozens of pros in the industry, as well as the highly anticipated exhibit of America’s Most Beautiful Roadster (AMBR) competitors, their owners vying to put their name on the 9-plus-foot-tall award. Fourteen cars entered the field, with George Poteet ultimately coming out on top with his 1936 Ford roadster (check out our May 2019 issue for further details). The name sounds familiar? George is the man behind the wheel of Speed Demon, the 450-plus-mph, piston-driven Bonneville record holder. And like many GNRS visitors, he lives and breathes hot rods.
Miret’s Morphine Both hot rods and customs have shared the Suede Palace’s Best of Show award over the years. For 2019, a custom came out on top, specifically Morphine, a colorful 1950s-styled ’54 Chevy owned by Roger Miret. Punk music fans might recognize the name, as he’s the vocalist for the band Agnostic Front. Based on the East Coast, he is also one of the founders of the Rumblers Car Club.
Best Hot Rod Saturday’s Suede Palace award ceremony celebrated Portland, Oregon’s Mike Collman, the winner of the Best Hot Rod trophy with his ’31 Ford Model A. We dig the 1960s show car influence of this suicide-doored coupe, from the angel hair surrounding it to the white interior and accents.
A Ford Trio Behind that sextet of carbs, a trio of 1920s hot rod Fords: Reyes Rangle’s 390ci Cad-powered ’29, Vic Hager’s flathead-powered ’28, and Louis Stands’ ’27 Model T.
Survivor Houston Percival unearthed quite a survivor: a ’30 Ford Tudor parked in a Winters, California, barn since 1952. While the body remains all stock, the nicely patina’d sedan runs a 239ci flathead bolted to a BorgWarner T5 gearbox for comfortable cruising speed.
Lakes Tribute This great display pays homage to Al Jerauld and William Grosvenor, who raced the Jerauld’s Speed Equipment ’32 Ford at El Mirage dry lake. Incidentally, the photo on the board dates back to 1950. Bill Verhulst assembled a tribute to the 313C roadster, using a twin-carb’d flathead and a ’39 Ford transmission.
Searching Current owner John Barnes is still searching for additional historical info about his three-window ’32 Ford. So far, it appears that the heavily chopped coupe had been drag raced in Pomona around 1951-1954 before being channeled and fitted with an aerodynamic nosepiece.
Tulsa Roadster Designer and engineer Jackie Howerton teamed with builder Steve Moal to create the Howerton-Moal Tulsa Roadster for customer Bill Grimsley. The deeply channeled and Corvette-motivated ’32 Ford was a strong AMBR contender, looking excellent with Sid Chavers upholstery and shiny chrome pieces by Sherms Plating.
Tweety Many had their eyes on Jim Govro’s channeled ’32 Ford roadster in the AMBR competition. Tweety Bird is a genuine survivor and was featured in HOT ROD, Nov. 1958. The Austin, Texas, resident created the car in 1951, though he ultimately contracted Rex Rod & Chassis to restore it in time for the GNRS, complete with a 331ci Cadillac V8 assembled by Keith Tardel.
Old and New All the way from Tennessee, Ann and Andrew Bower joined the AMBR field with their topless ’32 Ford, built by Dan Kerbo at Kerbo’s Kustom Klassics. While the body is fresh from Brookville, most everything else remains vintage: Deuce frame, 276ci Mercury flathead, ’39 Ford Top Loader with Lincoln Zephyr gears, Halibrand quick-change, and so on.
Lena Mae California tinkerer Ryan Rivers undoubtedly entered the most unusual vehicle in the AMBR battle, a 1924 Buick Model 24-Six-45 named Lena Mae. Under that antique appearance hides a bunch of interesting pieces, including a ’52 263ci Buick straight-eight hooked to a 700R4 transmission. And let’s not forget the 1923 Reo top chopped 8 inches. Rivers additionally crafted several of the car’s parts: radiator shell and trim, valve covers, dashboard, intake and exhaust manifolds, wheels, and more.
Most Beautiful And the AMBR trophy goes to… George Poteet of Memphis and his ’36 Ford. The well-known collector, hot rodder, and Bonneville racer worked with Eric Peratt at Pinkee’s Rod Shop on this roadster and modified it with lengthened doors, recontoured front fenders, a stretched cockpit, and more. This ambitious project also required 350 CNC-machined custom components.
Model A Display Building No. 9 celebrated Ford’s 1928-1931 offerings (aka Model As), including drag and lakes record holders, AMBR winners (eight of them), historic hot rods, custom cars, and traditional rods. Circle City Hot Rods helped Brett Miller build this ’31 Model A, fitted with a ’50 Ford flathead, a C4 transmission, and a ’36 Ford rearend. Pete Santini and Dennis Ricklefs applied the perfect paint and pinstripes, respectively.
Evolved “Hot Rod Survivor” says the board. Indeed, this ’29 Model A was built in 1948 by Bill Coleman as a flathead-powered lakes racer and street roadster. It even reached 120 mph at El Mirage in 1949. The roadster evolved over the years, welcoming stock fenders and a 303ci Olds engine around 1955. A full restoration that included a Chevy small-block took place in 1978. Jim and Wendy Hartman have been the caretakers of the relic since 1999.
Elvis Co-Star Tom Leonardo displayed his ’29 Model A, originally built by John Athan in 1937 using a $7 roadster body and a $5.50 Deuce chassis. It also participated in one of the last El Mirage races before WWII, where it ran 108 mph. Years later, it appeared in the movie Loving You, driven by a young Elvis Presley.
Tilt Russ Meeks designed and built this Model A for John Corno between 1970 and 1972. That year, he won the AMBR competition, wowing the judges with a tilt body (lengthened 4 inches) that covered a ’68 Olds Toronado V8. More alterations came in 1986, such as the handbuilt stainless steel chassis. Oregon residents Roman and Judy Baszniak currently own the famous roadster.
Sport Coupe Chip Starr of Portland, Oregon, is the proud caretaker of this time capsule, featured in Rod & Custom magazine back in July 1963. Then belonging to Robert and Richard Souza, the unusual ’29 sport coupe relied on a “warmed up” 286ci ’50 Merc V8 equipped with Edmunds heads, an Edelbrock triple-carb manifold, and a Joe Hunt magneto.
Four Ever Clark Crump put his Model A coupe on exhibit in the Four Ever Four Cylinder Club booth. Bob Kehoe, a respected Bonneville 200 MPH Club member, owned the vehicle for years. He bought it as a stocker in 1998 before hopping up the four-banger with an overhead conversion.
Record A Multiple lake racers sprinkled Building No. 9, such as the Holmes, Kugel & McGinnis ’29 A built in 1975. A 258ci twin-turbocharged and Hilborn fuel-injected SBC pushed the lakester to set the E-Blown Fuel Roadster record at 245 mph.
History Lesson Also scattered throughout Building No. 9 were icons of hot rodding, three of which are visible in this one image: In the foreground is the Bill NieKamp roadster, which won the very first AMBR trophy. On the right edge of the frame is the Ala Kart, which won the AMBR twice in a row in 1958 and 1959 and sold millions of plastic model kits for AMT. Just visible in the back is Jim “Jake” Jacobs’ rolling collage of a tub.
Limelighter The “village” outside the Suede Palace welcomed a group of handsome cars. Between the Packard sedan and the red ’41 Buick, check out Bud Millard’s Limelighter, a ’58 Chevy made by Bill Cushenberry for Frank Gould. It won Best Custom at the 1964 Winternationals. Oz’s Kustoms restored the chopped coupe to its former glory.
Fresh Less than a week before the GNRS, Eric Justus’ Deuce was still in a thousand pieces, the paint barely dry on the (real) body. The latter came from an older “smoothy” street rod project; but Justus and his friends brought it back to 1932 specs, even redrilling holes where the factory put them. We plan to feature the car in Hot Rod Deluxe in the future.
Untouched This Olds-powered three-window Deuce had a ton of people talking, for good reason. It has remained untouched since Julian Alvarez bought it in 1973. He found it in Huntington Beach, California, where it had been parked for 10 years. It retains all its early 1960s hot rod attributes: metallic paint over a chopped top, louvers, chromed steel wheels, and so on.
Rocket The majority of the vendors invaded the large Building No. 4. Ross Racing Engines displayed Bob Gratton’s five-window ’32 Ford built by Hilton Hot Rods. Lack of a hood allowed the crowd to admire the supercharged Olds Rocket V8 assembled by Ross.
Bare Ford Artist Coby Gewertz designed his ’34 Ford with Tim Conder before entrusting South City Rod & Custom with the construction. Notice the altered front fenders and seriously set-back 331ci Chrysler Hemi. Gewertz got the Halibrand magnesium wheels from his dad, an ex–Funny Car racer.
Forty Custom Neat ’40 Buick, eh? Owned by Steve Pierce, the coupe features a ton of custom alterations: ’39 Ford headlights, modified hood, chopped top (4 inches in front and 5.5 in back), molded rear fenders, ’41 Cadillac bumpers, and rare Lyon hubcaps that nicely complement the Washington Blue paint.
Kandy Devil The GNRS brings enthusiasts from all over the world. Tristan Louwaars of Tristan Kustomizing, Holland, poses proudly with the Kandy Devil, an SBC-powered ’53 Chevy he built for Vincent Wolfs (of Belgium). Their adventure proved a bit stressful, as the car only cleared U.S. Customs the day before the show opened!
Tribute Poncho Now the property of John D’Agostino, the ex–Richard Zocchi chopped ’62 Pontiac looked its best in Building No. 5, which was dedicated to custom cars. Zocchi built the 389-powered Grand Prix in 2002 as a tribute to an identical model (restyled by Gene Winfield) he owned in 1962.
Swoopy Glenn McElroy’s Speedliner took inspiration from the renowned Norman E. Timbs Buick, which was destroyed in Malibu’s wildfires last November. Marcel and Luc Deley’s talented hands crafted the swoopy aluminum body on McElroy’s rear-engine two-seater.
Mooney Based on a ’25 Ford roadster, the Mooney-Simpkins Special was built in 1949 by Fay Mooney Sr. of Bakersfield, California, a year before winning its class at the Oakland Roadster Show. Motivated by a 270ci GMC engine, the dirt track racer also appeared in HOT ROD, Jan. 1950. Paul Mooney has taken ownership.

On the Scene at the 2018 Mooneyes Xmas Party—Back on Track in a Big Way
All right, so we fibbed about the future of Mooneyes’ Xmas Party, as related in our web report a year ago (Mooneyes Xmas Party 2017: An Epic Going-Away Bash). Oh, it wasn’t intentional. The consensus was that the venue, Irwindale Speedway, was soon going to close, but a miracle happened. By the end of 2017, word got out: The show’s home would remain open for at least another couple of seasons.
The crowd responded en masse to the excellent news, with close to 1,500 cars and bikes taking over the site in early December. Mooneyes’ Chico Kodama relayed to us that the get-together proved to be one of the largest to date, including double the number of motorcycles. “T-shirt weather” might have helped. The annual meet offers a most interesting selection of rides, from low-budget mild customs to vintage vans and plenty of lowriders, although it should be said that traditional hot rods represent only a fairly small portion of the entries.
A member of the Odd Squad Car Club, Adrian Nasif put his Model T gow job to the test over the eighth-mile track, posting mid to high 11-second e.t.’s. His roadster was part of a contingent of four-cylinder hot rod entries.
Besides the cars on display, visitors enjoyed a massive vendor area and a great turnout of racecars. Most took part in grudge races, though a special class welcomed A/FX vehicles under the watchful eye of Melissa and Dave Franklin of American Nostalgia West. The group has been involved with the event for eight years, with spectators loving the 1960s muscle cars’ wheels-up antics. “When we race, our intention is to take spectators back in time,” says Melissa.
The Mooneyes team already plans on having its Xmas Party in 2019; it is expected to take place on the second Saturday of December.
If you were late to show up for the Mooneyes Xmas Party, you truly had to battle to find a parking spot in the car show, which was packed with close to 1,500 vehicles. In the background is Irwindale’s oval track, converted to a parking lot for the occasion.
A handful of four-banger fans competed together in an unofficial class. The group included Clark Crump (president of the 4 Ever 4 Cylinder Club) and his 1930 Model A, while the Model T behind belongs to Dave Fowles.
Few will recognize this vehicle, a now rare REO Speed Wagon whose origins can be traced back to the 1910s. Bob O’Neal converted his 1948 model into a street/strip contender, running a small-block Chevy. Yes, the rock band Reo Speedwagon took its name from the truck.
The Cacklefest involved a handful of well-known drag cars, such as the Ratican, Jackson & Stearns Fiat Topolino that began its track antics in 1958. By 1961, it crossed the quarter-mile finish line in the mid 9s at 157 mph. The supercharged 430ci Oldsmobile V8 sounds fantastic.
These distinctive headlights identify this Willys as a 1939 model. Owner Aaron Bedrosian runs e.t.’s in the 12.30-second range, though he has covered thousands of reliable road miles in it as well. Don’t tell anybody, but under the hood hides a modern 372ci/6.1L Hemi engine that delivers about 425 hp.
We always enjoy the sight of Larry Fator’s mean 1946 Chevy, which he purchased as a roller for $550 in 1969. The nose-high gasser features desirable magnesium Halibrand rims and a 396ci Chevy V8, hooked to a Muncie four-speed. A 1957 Pontiac supplied the rearend.
Paul Soliz’s High & Mighty 1950 Plymouth graced the cover of HOT ROD DELUXE in May 2018. The 10.60-second quarter-miler relies on a 427ci big-block Chevy topped with dual Holley 660-cfm carbs.
Paul Soliz also brought his cool, 396-powered Nova to the Mooneyes show, and parked it next to another Deluxe cover car, Sebastian Rey’s 1962 Studebaker Lark (“Blue Bird,” May 2017; hotrod.com/articles/this-historic-1962-studebaker-lark-gasser-was-a-different-kind-of-fatherson-project/).
The 1962 Dodge Dart has been great A/FX material, as demonstrated by Robert Munoa’s coupe, which is equipped with a 413ci engine. Munoa has had it for more than two decades and based his exercise on a rust-free original car, dressed in its original paint.
American Nostalgia West supported the event in large numbers. Here is John Harris’ 1963 Dodge 330 “long roof” originally from Canada, now motivated by a 440ci Hemi V8. Harris is the fifth owner of the wagon, which has been raced since it came out of the factory.
A Thunderbolt clone, Dale Schroeder’s 1964 Ford Fairlane started life as a lowly six-cylinder model with an automatic transmission. A much more potent 503ci Ford engine makes it a lot more competitive today.
Tom Tucker has owned his 427ci FE-powered, Hilborn-injected 1957 Ranchero since 1962! This is a true piece of SoCal drag racing history, having hit most of the local tracks (think Fontana Drag City, Lions, Orange County International Raceway, Irwindale …) since 1964, when it was removed from street life. Friend Dale Snoke (right) looks on.
“Hemi” claims the license plate on Chris O’Donnell’s 1965 Dodge. And indeed, under that massive scoop lurks a 578ci engine. With sub-6-second e.t.’s, his Coronet is one of the most competitive in the A/FX class, which gathered about 20 entries at Irwindale.
David Budgett took a basic 1970 Ford Mustang and morphed it into a competitive dragstrip contender. Fast Eddie’s Race Cars did most of the chassis work, while power comes from a 460ci motor stroked to 567 inches.
Check out the sinister appearance of Ray Dunham’s ’33 roadster, featuring deep black paint and matching wire wheels, enhanced by a Du Vall windscreen. Lack of hood sides allowed passersby to check out the 350ci Chevy fed by a trio of Edelbrock 94 carbs.
The team of Bisordi Sic Rides hung out at the show with this traditionally styled 1940 Mercury. On the front bumper, notice the plaque reading “Kustom’s Los Angeles,” a club founded by George Barris as his business began to boom in the 1950s.
Any 1946 Ford coupe can easily straddle the hot rod and custom worlds, as exemplified by Robert Alaniz’s Deluxe. The “mild” treatment includes Olds Fiesta hubcaps, along with a pair of Cherry Bombs exiting just behind the doors.
With its large windows, the ’51 Kaiser differed greatly from the rest of American car production. Yet the coupe can still transform into a pleasing custom, and a chopped top won’t hurt the lines, either. Chris Gomez owns this example, painted by Fabian Valdez at Vintage Hammer Garage.
Lance Smith owns Huntington Cars, a shop based in San Diego that specializes in Trans-Am and other V8 circuit racers. But he also knows how to appreciate vintage gassers, such as his ’55 Chevy 210, a genuine 1960s survivor recently brought back to life.
This one is for the fans of motorcycles and vans. A Ukrainian artist known as Irene Airbrush did an impressive job with Moreland Choppers’ 1976 Chevy hauler, covering the sides with artwork created in tribute to the late David Mann. His art appeared for more than three decades in the pages of Easyriders magazine.
