on the one hand i fucking adore the way that in mcyt streams vs videos and different povs make it so that not only is every narrator unreliable but canon itself is entirely dependant on who you watch and if you believe them. on the other hand, the fact that literally only like three people are gonna know about the one-off joke line that is currently driving me insane WILL be the death of me.

Leaving the party to see Potter's new house couldn't be a bad idea, right? I mean, Draco was invited...

Inspired by bad idea right? by Olivia Rodrigo. Had tons of fun writing this in tiny bits on tumblr and seeing how many references to the song and music video I could cram into it, and how I could emulate the style of the song in written form. And as Allie/@oflights put it best: "is draco not the early aughts drama queen of our hearts?" (My gdoc title for this was "his brain goes ahhhhhh")

i have got to emphasise on the fact that this is huge actually- gay rights in football is something that's just barely discussed. during the world cup in qatar, captains were banned from wearing a one love captain's band because it was too political (it was just a band with a rainbow heart on it), homophobia and racism is practically rooted in the songs sung during matches and there are no out players in the premier league, or more generally, there is only one (1) out player in the top leagues. having a character simply just,, be with another man and also a footballer in the premier league is a huge statement and will hopefully aid in trying to make football a better space.
