What is your favorite vessel/princess?

Commissioned the amazing @magua-vida to draw my original Princesses, The Dancer & The Dream! I'm absolutely delighted with how they came out, they both look so pretty and bursting with personality!

For anyone who doesn't want to click through, you get the Dancer if you unlock the Princess's cuff & die of a heart attack, making her flighty but concerned, fussing over your health & safety. The Dream is Dancer's unique Chapter 3, who you get if you fall asleep in the cabin with Dancer fussing over you, and is smotheringly protective to the point of aggression & possessiveness while acting manipulatively sweet & fragile.

She just wants to take care of you... even (or especially) if it means chaining you up to keep you safe.

Oh, man, here's loverboy:

God, that's a lot of dialogue...

I said I would use the Dio outfit. Well... mostly. I didn't want to straight up copy it, so I simplified and tweaked it to fit my style. Such an excellent outfit, though...

I'll be honest, Smitten was actually my least favorite for the longest time. (Yes, even surpassing Broken at one point.) One, he was just generally annoying, talking way too much. Two, his reaction to the deconstructed Damsel (him calling her "perfect" after demonstrating zero agency for herself) was particularly disturbing to me.

And then I played the Thorn...

And I heard the best line in the game. No contest. That line lives rent-free in my brain. I think about it at least once a week.

That version of The Look conversation is my personal favorite. I am just so curious about Hunted in particular. Who, and when, and where, and...? (If it's Cheated, I know someone who's gonna explode.) Also, I know Smitten wasn't a part of that original conversation, but he did spawn from it, so...

I kinda wished I did more with his berserk side (you know, after you kill the Princess), but I think it might be better when I get to Cold... Oh the ideas I have with that...

I've nicknamed him Rome. A bastardized version of Romeo, mostly because I didn't want to use Romeo. Too cliché. Also, Rome is a pretty romantic city, or so I've heard.

Alrighty. This took longer than I expected. Time was not on my side this week. That, and I was working on a few other projects alongside this one. One of which is another voice that some might have already seen... hmm... Another is something of an introduction. I feel like I just sorta... appeared suddenly in this community. Completely out of the blue. So I wish to properly introduce myself in a future post. Hope y'all like that. :)

finished watching a playthrough of slay the princess, seeing multiple endings to it and i am crying screaming and sobbing :,)

the leave the cabin and the good shifting mound ending in particular hit me the most because… they’re just so romantic to me in such a gentle, affectionate way. they’re holding hands as they head into the great beyond together and where they’re headed to? it doesn’t matter because what matters is that they’re together, finally they’re together after all this time, after all this pain and suffering they’ve endured since their separation they can finally be by each others side again no matter where they end up with no outside forces to break them apart ever again, even the forms they take don’t matter to them because it’s them that they fell in love with. the smile that the shifting mound has as the long quiet takes her hand and the quiet ‘i love you’ before the cabin ending; i am ill over these two/pos

if i had a nickel for every time johnny sims was involved in an ending to a piece of horror media where two characters were so in love with each other that ultimately they place their faith in each other when treading towards a place even they don’t know, i’d have two nickels and every time it has made me sob

highly recommend the game if you haven’t because it’s just so,, the art direction, the writing, the music, it’s all absolutely beautiful.
