🌴 Welcome to Hawara🌴

I've been working on a custom hood for a while now, every time I get inspiration for decorating cities, public spaces, parks, among other things, I try to recreate it in my neighborhood which I called "Hawara". The hood is located near the sea with a tropical and summer theme (I have to confess that sometimes I haven't respected the theme very much 😅), with beaches where its citizens can swim and have a good time, there are a large number of buildings and houses for purchase or rent (like buildings, houses and apartments).

I made several places that I will show as I finish them (like the decoration of the neighborhood, houses, apartments, restaurants, parks, among other things). For now I will show the city center and the main park, and the center seen from another location.

I have to confess that there were several times when I wanted to eliminate the neighborhood because I didn't like how it was turning out, but I applied the phrase "✨trust the process✨" that allowed me to see the final result of my constructions, and to be honest, I really liked how they turned out, which makes me very happy with how the city is progressing.

By the way i always feel so weird about those creations versus artists comparisons when its about Hayao Miyazaki.... like its always about how he is gloomy as a person but his creations are all so wholesome and cute

Like no? He just knows that in a movie with limited runtime its not possible to show the intricate and absolutely fucked up stories of war that he could portray in his manga. Its so onesided to just look at the movies he made for a broader audience, making sure that kids could enjoy them and say thats all he does. The guy has the range. Just look at this

what lies in the newspaper

‘’Another kid missing.’’ My dad sighed as he put the newspaper back down on the table. ‘’Why can nobody keep track of their kids these days? If I can do it, anybody can.’’ He took a sip of his coffee and looked at me. ‘’Do you know this girl?’’ He slid the newspaper over to me. Smiling through the photograph was a teenage girl with blonde hair and glasses. Underneath the photo, it said her name was Laurel, and she was a freshman. ‘’I’ve seen her before, but I’ve never talked to her or anything.’’ I responded. ‘’You better be watching out for yourself.’’ My dad said as he got up to clear his plate. I got up too. I was not looking forward to school today. The teachers were all going to give us lectures about internet safety and stranger danger. Great.

As I was walking home from school that day, I walked past the old abandoned house that was on my road. I never really gave it any thought, because it had always just sat there. Nothing interesting ever happened to the house. But as I walked past, I saw something dart through the trees behind the house. I looked back and saw a girl hiding in the woods. I stopped and looked at her for a minute. She didn’t look panicked or anything. She just kind of stood there, peering at the house. After a minute, she looked at me and we made eye contact. She was the same girl from the missing photo in the newspaper. I started to walk towards her, but she bolted down the street and I didn’t have the energy to run after her. I decided to just call the police when I got home. 

‘’911, what’s your emergency?’’

‘’I just saw Laurel Simmons. Her picture was in the newspaper this morning, and it said she was missing.’’ The responder didn’t say anything for a minute. ‘’That’s not possible.’’ He said. ‘’Laurel was found dead at two thirty this afternoon.’’ ‘’But I saw Laurel at two forty five.’’ This wasn’t making any sense. ‘’Ma’am, you must have seen somebody else. Thank you for being so concerned.’’ And with that, the responder hung up. 

I was sitting on my bed later that night watching Jeopardy, thinking about what had happened. When I opened my window to look at the house, the front porch light was on. Which was weird because the only person with the key to that house was my dad, who was downstairs. And the light wasn’t motion sensored. You had to go inside to flip the switch. ‘’Dad, someone’s in the house across the street.’’ I woke him up from his spot on the couch. ‘’It’s fine.’’ He growled, and went back to sleep. 

The next day, I picked up the newspaper from the front porch. I opened it up to look at the missing picture of Laurel again. But instead of Laurel’s pretty face staring back at me, it was mine.

Why is storytelling one of the vital skills for leaders?

People will remember stories better than plain facts. A story makes the facts come to life. Practice your storytelling skills, and you will be better off when you cast your vision or chart the company's course.

Here is a story that I often tell when it comes to housekeeping in our Power Plant and that everybody needs to help out to obtain a high standard.

-There was a plant manager at a Power plant who wanted to raise the standards regarding housekeeping. He took a trash bin, wrote the words World Class on it, and went out into the plant.

When he had filled the bin, he went into the main Control room and emptied the bin into a larger trash canister. He did this without saying a word. This procedure went on for a couple of weeks, and after a while, new trash bins with the same word, World Class, were placed inside the plant.

Eventually, the overall housekeeping status was improved, without even the Plant manager saying a single word.

As Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see.”
