I have a question.

It's midnight where I live and I need to sleep desperately because I haven't slept properly in two days but before that I need to get this thing off my chest.

My thoughts are going around in a circle with questions that I never thought I would ask myself because if I am being honest I would say that I have lived a sheltered life and know nothing about the outside.

Why do people stalk? Why do people harass others? Why can't some take a no? Why is there a need to terrify a person to an extent that they can't even leave their house?

This never happened to me but it has happened to a person who is very dear to me. They live in a different city than I do so we seldom meet but when we do we often have a lot of fun. It's always a good time when I am with her.

A few days ago when I talked to her, she was sobbing over the phone and telling me about how her life has been a living nightmare because of some guy.

It was heartbreaking to hear how her life has been affected because of some bloody bastard who is harassing her and stalking her every damn day.

She is afraid of getting out of her house and live a fun life, hell! She is afraid to even stand in her own balcony because once that bastard literally broke into her house and threatened her.

My reaction to this was to tell her to go and inform her parents but she said that they wouldn't believe her. Although it felt quite ridiculous at first yet say it's true, they are very loving but very strict and the type that doesn't have any trust in her.

I felt guilty for not being able to protect her like a sister, I still do feel the same.

I want to bring her to my city so that she could live with me but it's not quite possible so I told her of the next best solution I could think of, there is a branch of police in our state that is specially trained to solve the cases of stalking, harassment and eve teasing, I told her to complain.

I don't know how it would work out, hopefully, it would solve her problem.

I want to ask you why do people stalk? Why is harassment so prevalent? Is this for some sick sadistic purpose?

I don't understand really..

Anyone who has been through something like that, please share your experience.

Maybe awareness would help someone who is as confused as me and my friend.

I think I keep quiet and I’m so quiet all the time because I already know that whenever I turn on my computer or whatever song I listen to you’ll already know all about it. You’ve tapped into every device I’ve got and there is no privacy left, just me, here... exhausted... stressed, no help because it’s not an actual “crime” yet until I end up on the news. I’m not quite sure what the angle is or motivation is, so I am leaving going far away and maybe that’s the point. Maybe that was the wish this whole time. Who knows..... WHAT I DO KNOW IS: pain is a motivator, kindness is a choice, there is a time to be quiet and the times to be loud are prescious and fun. Don’t ever tell anyone everything, trust anyone fully, fall in love freely, or just believe blindly, because this world is now hell and we are living in it. It’s up to us to create our own kind of “happy” - so do it right and decide who is worth bringing with you into your own little beautiful world you’ve created for yourself. Some how along the way I’ve attracted someone who’s decided to not tell me who they are but they’ve decided to insert themselves into each second of my life and it’s beyond pathetic. Because trust me I am pretty.... damn... boring. Either way......... I know who I am, I know where I’ve been, and I know where I’m going. So these pithy games will hopefully eventually stop.
