listen sorry to hijack this post but i have some information that needs public attention

there's an extremely new and extremely effective suicide method that isn't even 5 years old being spread by the world's largest suicide forum. this method overrides a lot of the mental obstacle that make suicide such a difficult task to carry out and undermines survival instinct.

the law outlawing it has yet to pass senate, but california has already outlawed it, and most websites currently only sell the chemical to businesses due to public pressure. the bill hit senate in may and nothing has happened since.

you can click "Contact Your Member" on the side panel and write an email explaining how important this bill is to you to your local senate representative.

something you can do right now is call your local hospital pharmacy, and ask what they would do in the event of a sodium nitrite overdose. demand that they have the cure, methylene blue, in stock. many hospitals don't even have this on hand, and even fewer first responders are prepared or informed on what to do. this method is so dangerous, that if the hospital doesn't have the cure in stock, you will likely still die even if you change your mind and call emergency services right away.

and to anyone else who has fallen down the rabbit hole like me, who know what terms like CTB, SaSu, DMC, and SN means. get out. they don't care about you. the creators of the forum have a long history of running incel and anti-feminist forums that have been associated with violent acts. both creators are self-identified incels. they love the attention, they love playing god. several of their rules are there only for appearances. read the rules. read the posts. notice what is and isn't enforced, notice the dwindling recovery thread. there are people who understand your pain on there more than anyone in your personal life ever will, but they are sick just like you. don't become one of their kills.

if your partner is suicidal, your friend, your child, please make sure they aren't going to this site. make sure to vet any packages they get, make sure their immediate family and friends know not to let them ship to their address. (example: shipping to your address for a "christmas gift" for their partner) make sure you know exactly what to do in this situation, and that your local hospital is prepared. if you ever find your suicidal loved one unconscious, in cardiac arrest, rapid/stalled breathing, coughing, incoherent speech, vomiting, with an empty glass nearby or salty breath, pass on the information to emergency services that you suspect it is a sodium nitrite overdose.

so many people have died and will continue to die if we don't use our voice to support legislation and spread information on how to combat this method. someone, anyone please listen.
